Users Users Users ... Who needs them

Hi Gurus
I have about 15 users who will be using my application. I have been advised by my DBA to create them as HTMLDB users without developer privs. I have read on the forum that this is not advisable but as we dont have single signon or LDAP and we dont understand authentication by DAD this is my only option.
I have a table in the app called users and a page which will allow the superuser to create new users and add them to the table. What I need is a way of creating the HTMLDB user at the same time. I have tried using
wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.create_fnd_user(
p_user_name => 'regular_user',
p_email_address => '[email protected]',
p_web_password => 'regular1') ;
but I get the error wrong number or type of argument. I have tried this in TOAD and sql_workshop and get the same error.
What am I doing wrong ?
Also can some one direct me to easy to understand and basic documentation on authentication please.

Robert - If the user management facilities in HTML DB meet your needs, that's great. They are intended to be an out-of-the-box starter solution. For large user populations, production environments, and the requirement to hand off user account management chores to an IT organization, other solutions will be more attractive.

New files cannot be checked in, only visible to user who created them

Hi,
we're having problems with one of our document libraries in Sharepoint 2013. The library was migrated from Sharepoint 2010 in September. Other libraries work fine.
When a file is created in that library, it ends up as checked out by the user and cannot be checked in because some properties such as the content type are not set. This means that nobody else can see the file, even users with full access.
For word files, Word prompts for the missing properties if the file is opened and saved in Word (but not in Office Web Apps). They work fine after that. Excel does not ask for missing properties and I haven't found a way to check in Excel files yet.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Some ideas: -
Turn off mandatory metadata on either the column level or in the content type settings
Turn off Content type management if it's not needed
Delete unneeded content types
Check for content approval and deactivate if needed

New user who needs help quickly!

Hello!
I am a new user upgrading from using Premiere 6.5. I have had much success but there is one part that I can't figure out. I know on the 6.5 verison I would be able to right click my video, click on "Video" and then click on "motion" to adjust the size of the video as if I wanted to scroll text next to the video. I can't seem to figure that out in this new version. Help!

Left-click to Select the Clip. Look in the Effects Control Panel and you will see all of the Fixed Effects (Motion, Opacity, etc.) and any Effects that you have added. Their control (plus Keyframing) will be found there. By default, it is in the Pane with the Audio Mixer and the Source Monitor.

What is locales, who needs them?

What is locales?
Should I set my country speciffic locale?
Should I have multiple locales installed?
(just curious though, not having any problems..)

Locales are configurations, and settings, for your locale (location). Take for instance, date formatting. In the US it is common to use "MM DD YYYY", but most other places use "DD MM YYYY" - a properly localized application will format a date as appropriate for your locale.
Translations are also handled with this if the app has a proper translation.
So, the real question is: where are you from and what languages do you use when using your computer?

Thank you for your responses.. To Sjazbec, At least you guys in Germany and the Netherlands have some kind of posters from Apple to let you know that the feature is not available.
There is no such warning on the Irish Apple site.!
My point was that, I would not have even considered trying to reorganize my itunes library had I known that the feature is not available in Ireland.
And that falls into the domain of Apple Ireland advertising.. which I"m sorry to say is false and misleading.
There are no "posters" telling the Irish customer that icloud / itunes music is not available!
I"m not blaming Apple for not "having the feature" in Ireland.. I am upset at them for falsing advertising a feature that they cannot for whatever reason deliver to Irish customers..

This one doesn't, but not sure if it's because in my sistem no Inbox object match the condition :
select SI_NAME from CI_INFOOBJECTS where SI_KIND = 'Inbox' AND SI_INBOX_USER.SI_TOTAL != 1

Fonts are handled by your operating system and installed through the respective System Control panel (Windows) or Fontbook (Mac). On Windows simply type "Fonts" in the search bar in the start menu and when you open the panel/ folder use File --> Add Font. On Mac the procedures are similar, you just need to find the Fontbook app in Applications:Utilities.

Need log of the users who changed the partner profiles.

Hi,
Some user has been changed partner profiles of the CUA configuration Setup.
It is displaying only Agent Name. They delete the Inbound and outbound parameters of the partner profiles created by CUA. So, I need to trace out the user who changed these parameters.
It will be appreciate if anybody can help in this issue.

I resolved this issue by deleting the partner profiles created by CUA in all child clients. And delete the Distribution model in all child clients and re-distribute the distribution model from Master client.
Now its working fine.
But I am not able to trace out the user who changed partner profiles. I checked in ST03N but i didnt get the information abt the we20. ( I am using ECC 6.0 version).
And in WE20 it is not showing any User ID who changed the partner profiles. I checked in following tables but I didnt find any changed details of partner profiles.

If you want to access other's archive mailbox, you need to grant full access permissions to user primary mailbox first, then you can see personal archive from Outlook side.

Please can some body tell me the way to find out all the users who have not at all logged in into the SAP enterprise portal after their user ID's are created.
Are there any methods(UME APIs) or attributes that set the status of user whether he/she has logged in into the portal first time.

Hi,
In BEx query, when you click "Queries" to open the query, the list of queries are displayed. Highlight the query, click on the "Properties On/Off' icon(right most on the top), you would see all the details.
In WAD, before opening the template, click on "Properties On/Off'" icon to see the details.

I Need to create a user who will run the logminer what specific rights should be given in order to run the logminer and query the logminer views. Cant give the sysdba privilages.

Try the following way
-->goto se16 Enter the table CDHDR and press enter
--> Enter "KUNHIER" in Change doc Obj.. and
Enter the date range in Date field.
YOu should get some items in the table.
( If there are no items, that means. no change was happened to the Customer Hierarchy structure or the changes were not being store. )
--> If you want more details refer to CDPOS too..

How to disable via Group Policy - "Any user who has a password doesn't need to enter it when waking this PC"

The setting can be found in the following location:
From the “Charm” bar, Settings>Change PC Settings>Users>Sign-in Options> click the “Change” button next to “Any user who has a password must enter it when waking this PC”.
I am looking to disable this option via Group Policy on our domain, but am unable to find a default policy related to this setting. I am searching Group Policy on a Server 2012 machine, and in local Group Policy in Windows 8, but have found nothing.
Hoping I'm just missing the location of this and someone can point me to the right place.

There is no specific policy for this item. Please set “Require a password on wakeup” policy instead.

I'm using Windows Server 2012 R2, and I can't find the above quoted policy, and don't know where to anymore where to look. I searched for "Require a password when the computer wakes up", but it took me to the "Define Power Buttons and Turn On
Password Protection" page of System Settings, but there's NOTHING there except the "When I press the power button". I really want to stop having to enter a password every time I wake up the monitor screen.
