Using A 3rd Part SSL Certificate on DS 6.3

Hello,
I have a DS 6.3 server whose purpose is to authenticate Solaris 10 clients. All of my clients have been configured to communicate with the DS 6.3 server via SSL/TLS on port 636. To do this, I simply copied the slapd-cert8.db, slapd-key3.db and secmod.db files from the alias directory on the DS 6.3 server to the /var/ldap directory on each client. After renaming the files (removing the slapd- from the name) and configuring each client to bind using tls:simple, via a profile, things work just fine.
However.....
I used the default certificate generated by DS 6.3 during the install of the product. Unfortunately this certificate is signed with weak algorithms, and failed an audit. I have tried replacing the certificate with a GoDaddy 3rd party cert, and a self-signed certificate created using openssl, but as soon as I copy the cert8/key3 databases to the client as described above, the client can no longer connect to the server. I've added the server cert from GoDaddy as well as their root cert using both the dsadm tools and the certutil tools. I've done the same with the certs that I generated via openssl. In both cases, the only error message I receive on the client is the "libsldap: Status: 81 Mesg: openConnection: simple bind failed - Can't contact LDAP server". Yet if I go back to using the default certificate generated by DS 6.3, everything works just fine.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks in advance...

As you indicated, name resolution was the problem again, but in a different way. When I had the DS server configured to use my self-signed cert, I had the following entry in /etc/nsswitch.conf on my ldap client:
hosts: ldap [NOTFOUND=continue] files
Once I switched the DS server to using the 3rd Party (GoDaddy) cert, I was unable to ping the DS server by its FQDN, despite having that entry in my hosts file. I had to switch the /etc/nsswitch.conf on the client to look like this:
hosts: files [NOTFOUND=continue] ldap
Once I had done this, I was able to access the DS server from the client using the GoDaddy cert.
I tried this same configuration on another DS server and ran into one additional problem. this new DS server had some of the ciphers disabled per recommendation by our auditors. I could not my client to connect until I reconfigured the server to use all available ciphers. How can I tell which ciper the client and server want to use when communicating, so that I don't disable it? Is there any way to configure which cipher is used for SSL communication?
Thanks very much for your assistance

I have a co-existance of Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 and after installing a new 3rd party cert I'm getting The following error.   All mail is flowing and OWA is working.
Microsoft Exchange could not find a certificate that contains the domain name Exchange.domain.local in the personal store on the local computer. Therefore, it is unable to support the STARTTLS SMTP verb for the connector Default EXCHANGE with a FQDN parameter

exists, run Enable-ExchangeCertificate -Services SMTP to make sure that the Microsoft Exchange Transport service has access to the certificate key.
Our GoDaddy UC SAN cert is not allowed to have .local SAN names, so I have no way of adding it to the cert.   Is it possible for me to install a local CA and generate a self signed cert for the personal store or would it be better to disable

Change the name on the Receive Connector (2010) or on the SMTP Virtual Server (2003) to match the name in the new certificate. One of them is sending the "exchange.domain.local" in the 220 banner when it accepts a connection.

  • SSL/Certificate creation/distribution questions

I'm extremely new to SSL and using certificates and have been having some trouble figuring out exactly how to create and implement them.
    Environment background:
Currently, my entire network is closed off from the outside world. It's a mac-only network, basically sandboxed from a PC-only network via a router (to provide access to the internet, that's provided from the PC network). No port forwarding is set up and I don't have any external IP addresses pointing to my router, so currently there's no way for an outside source to see my network. With not really any need for secure traffic, SSL and certificates aren't really needed (basically, it's a video dept at a university with ~150 users). However, once I get external access (the main IT dept's been "working" on this with our ISP for, um, about a year <coughcough>), I'm wanting to do some stuff with VPN as well as wikis and chat (chat could theoretically be useful internally now). Even though we don't really have much worth hacking, once I get a window to the outside world, I'd like to button up my server/network as much as possible.
Since all my services will be set up and provided by me, I'm comfortable using certificates I create instead of purchasing any--if I knew how to do this, which brings me to my questions. I've tried creating a certificate within Server Admin, but it says it's not trusted (and clients don't seem to see it, anyway). I've also tried the instructions here: www.eclectica.ca/howto/ssl-cert-howto.php, but got an error when actually running the openssl command (OpenSSL is installed and appears to be functional). How do I get a trusted certificate(s) and then, how do I distribute them to the clients so they see and use them? Exactly what path are these created to, or should be placed, etc?
I'd initially like to use SSL for increasing the security of my logins (all network users), but like mentioned, I'd also like to secure other services (is a cert needed/useable for VPN?). In that regard, do I only need one certificate, or would I need certificates for each separate service?
Sorry for the long post, but thanks for any help.

    Hi There,
If you create a "self signed" certificate you will get warning messages in your browser but can configure your browser to accept these warnings. This is ok if it is just a local access machine and you are the only one accessing it.
If outside people are going to be accessing it, you will want to use a 3rd party SSL certificate from a trusted authority such as Verisign, GeoTrust etc.
Here is a good article on how to create the CSR on 10.6

  • Why, when I successfully connect to Server 2012 Essentials R2 via Anywhere Access does the Remote Desktop Connection use the self signed certificate for RDP instead of the SSL certificate I installed when I set up access anywhere?

    Scenario:
    Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials
I purchased an SSL Cert from GoDaddy and I managed (after some challenges) to set up Anywhere access to use that new SSL Cert. I to rebooted the server and I am able to login to Anywhere Access vis https (using the SSL certificate) from PC, Mac and iOS.
    So far so good.
The problem I am having is that when I click to launch a remote desktop connection to the server RDP connection wants to use the self signed SSL certificate of the server rather than the SSL Certificate I installed into Anywhere Access. As a result, I get
a security warning like this: "The identity of the remote computer cannot be verified. Do you want to connect anyway?"
The name in the certificate appears as ACME-SERVER.ACMEDOMAIN.local  instead of the SSL Certificate I installed, which is
    remote.acmedomain.com
If I lick to accept, RDP does work fine, it;s just using a self signed certificate. I want it to use the trusted certificate that I purchased and installed.
My guess is that there must be an additional step to tell Anywhere Access that when it generates the RDP session that it should use the cert? OR, is this just how it works?

    Because....
the server does not have a 'trusted' certificate assigned to it.
Only the RDP Gateway has the trusted certificate for the external name.
If you want to remove that error, you have to do one of the following:
Make sure your domain uses a public top level domaim, and get a public trusted certificate for your server.
    So, something like,
    server.domain.publicdomain.com
    Or,
Install that certificate on your remote computer so it is trusted.

  • SSL certificates and GWIA

    I have run up against a wall trying to install a third party SSL certificate with GWIA 7.0.3 and securing IMAP connections;
Certificate (And SSL) works fine, but the infamous "The origin of this certificate cannot be verified" type of message comes up for all mail clients attaching, and this is particularly bad for handheld devices like iPhone connecting via IMAP using SSL.
Has anyone ever successfully installed a 3rd party SSL cert into GWIA with chain of trust back to root CA and been able to overcome this ?
It' basically the same problem one would run into if issuing a self-signed cert out of NDS/Edir Cert server 2.x or 3.x.
Any suggestions would be welcome !
    Thanks !

Hi, I very recently had a similar problem...our existing 3rd party ssl external Verisign certificate expired!!!!
I have'nt been able to in the past configure a 3rd party ssl certificate into our current Groupwise 7 system due to lots of various methods of doing this task....i got quite confused and if you do not do things in the correct order the whole process will need to ber started over again.
Ive managed to eventually cracked it and figure out a simple and more structured approach to setting this up.
The following was in relation to applying the 3rd party external certificate to WEBACCESS
This was the steps i took:
Firstly ensure you have the registered details you completed already with your 3rd party SSL supplier, they should have provided you with a:
    OU
    O
    L
    S
    C
the CN is the webaddress or DNS name your users will hit to access your secured page - we will add this later.
    1) Highlight the container where your server is located which will be the host application part of the webaccess that the ssl is assigned to.
(my setup is, i have my main grpwise system in one tree, my application - webaccess component in a separate tree) - we need to re-create the SSL object in the second tree or the container where the application component is located.
    2) Right-click to create an object > from the list choose > NDSPKI:Key Material.
    3) Give a name for the certificate name object > then select the second option > Custom.
(This will allow you to enter more specific information relating to the 3rd party ssl certificate)
    4) The next screen select "External Certificate authority" - this would be your 3rd party ssl. Click next
    5) Next screen asks for the Key size, accept the default value of "2048 bits" > tick "Allow private key to be exported", click next.
    6) Next screen asks for the Certificate Parameters, depending on the order of your, CN, OU,O,L,S,C
I clicked the edit button and then clicked the small arrow icon to switch the SSL URL around so that my .cn=webserver url address will be read first then the - OU,O,L,S,C.
(PLEASE NOTE: The (OU,O,L,S,C) should be identical to what was initially registered with your 3rd party SSL supplier.
7)Once you are happy with the details click "Finish".
    8) You will immediately be asked where to save the "b64" file that will be generated which will be sent off to your 3rd party supplier for re-minting.
choose a file name - ensure no hyphens,or special characters etc are used and keep to the 8.3 naming length just to avoid any long name issues, i do believe that by adding a hyphen may cause problems as the system automatically puts a hyphen to separate the names automatically hence that is why its advised not to use this.
I saved my file to root of my c:\
9)Once this has been done and you click save, send the file off to your 3rd party SSL supplier, they will re-mint the "b64" file and you should get back 2 files:
    a)file.cer
    b)Intermediate.cer
    (filenames could be anything)
    10) Select the "KMO object" you created earlier in step 2, then goto the Certificate tab > Trusted Root certificate" tab to import the Intermediate.csr file sent to you.
Select import > then read from file and browse for the "Intermediate.csr" file - i chose root of my c:\ to save the re-minted 2 files sent back to me.
Select the Intermediate file, you should see some encrypted characters show in the blank screen, then select Ok or finish.
If you see a pop up window stating " Subject name mismatch error" dont worry this is merely a cosmetic issue due to the details not being in the exact naming order, it has been IMPORTED!!
    Click OK.
Once you have done this you should see your first key pair file imported, check the subject name, Issuer name, effect date, expiration date, certificate status details, these should all show the 3rd party certificate details.
Then next part is to import the second key pair file.
Click Certificate>Public Key Certificate tab > import.
Select to read from file> then browse for the file.csr
You should see the encrypted characters, then select ok or finish.
Now you have competed the difficult part you now need to tell you application what SSL object to point to in order to use the SSL encryption.
For webaccess, you have to edit the apache conf files and enter the name of the SSL/KMO object you created earler.
    11) Goto your application server that will use the ssl, then browse to:
    server\sys\apache2\conf
    edit a file called "httpd.conf"
    then
    amend or add the section:
    SecureListen 443 "Verisign"
Save theses changes - then shut down your web services on the server, apache, etc. ie, type :
    Apache shutdown commands:
    ap2webdn
    tc4stop
    admsrvdn
    Apache load commands:
    apache2
    ap2webup
    tc4stop
    admsrvup
wait a minute or so so that the services can be unloaded.
If you think its safer to do so, you can restart the server - that way you know for sure that everything has been unloaded and re-loaded cleanly.
    ALL done.
SSL now in operation and working.
I carried out this method - my own steps and this worked for me.
    Good luck!!!

  • SQL Server SSL Certificate

    Hi All,
I am slowly getting to the bottom of applying SSL throughout my project but am stuck in the current situation and I need help please..
Project is a Java servlet running on Windows. Java 1.6 and Tomcat 7 but connects to a SQL Server database and an Oracle database (running on unix). We have a keystore set up successfully on the servlets' server with root, intermediate certificates etc
that successfully encrypts the connection to Oracle. The server team maintaining the server hosting the SQL Server database have supplied me with an SSL certificate, I am told is for accessing the SQL Server database. I am assuming it is a public key certificate.
I am trying to apply this certificate to encrypt the network traffic to the SQL Server database. I have attempted to import the certificate into the keystore mentioned above using the Java keytool but this does not work so I deleted the certificate from
the keystore again. I found the URL below which I have followed to install the certificate through MMC but cannot find how to now force Tomcat to encrypt the network traffic.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316898
Can someone please tell me what I am missing here please? There is loads of guidance on setting up keystores with root and intermediate certificates etc, but I cannot find any guidance on what to do in Tomcat to use a single provided SSL certificate. Do
I use the Java cacerts file and import the certificate in there?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    AJF

    Hi SQL Team - MSFT
    Thank you for your response.
I have been looking at this further.  I have only been given one SSL certificate which I am assuming because it has a file format of ".cer" it is the public key for the certificate on the server hosting the SQL server database.  For this to work
they way we want, the "clients" will not have SQL Server Configuration Manager installed, but instead will have the SSL certificate mention above stored in a Keystore set up with the "Keytool" in the Java JRE.
I am unsure how the guys who manage the server hosting the SQL server database have set up the SSL certificate, i.e. if they have set up a root and intermediate certificate etc.  I am currently trying to get information out of them (They are not
located immdiately near my location).  I have a funny feeling they have not set up the SSL at their end correctly, and I am wondering if they have just imported into the servers browser, the same public key certificate they forwarded to me.  When
you say "you have to first export the Trusted Root Certificate Authority from the server and import this to the client", what part of the SSL certificate(s) do you mean?
Do you mean the Certificate Authority root certificate and I have to import that into the client as well as the public key certificate?
I look forward to you next feedback.
    Regards

  • How can I change to a different SSL certificate without restarting FF?

I work in a helpdesk environment and my team requires the use of two different SSL certificates for one particular website depending on what we are doing. I can only find the following two ways to do this:
    1. Restart Firefox - this is really unproductive due to the nature of our work we have a lot of things open and in use in different tabs/windows and restarting firefox makes us lose information/progress (it's not the kind of stuff that re-opening the tabs automatically will fix).
    2. Wait 20 minutes after the last use of the certificate for it to time out and then Firefox will ask us to choose the certificate next time we try to access the page - obviously this is a pretty asinine solution and won't really work. (:
I'm just wondering if there is some way to force Firefox to change certificates or forget the one that is currently in use for the site?

Thanks for the suggestion, I should've mentioned I'd already tried that without success. I tried clearing everything in the Clear Recent History section actually but the certificate is still remembered.
I've also just now tried deleting the certificates completely but not even that works - a little concerning. (:

  • SSL Certificate for Software LifeCycle Management

    Dear Friends,
We have Solution Manger 70 with EhancementPack 1 (Java 7.01 SP4). Trying to configure the Software LifeCycle Management and I am stuck at the first stage i.e. generating SSL SSL Certificate.
Here is what I have done and please let me know on how to proceed...
    - Installed SAP Cryptographic libraries, all the necessary Profile parameters and activated HTTPS...
    - STRUSTSSO2 --> Created SSL Server PSE
    - Generated the Certificate Requests for the SSL Server PSE
    - Copied the Certificate Request.
    - Opened the https://service.sap.com/tcs site
    - Requested for SSL Test Server Certificate by pasting the Copied the Certificate Request and generated the certificate response in a "PKCS # 7 Certificate Chain" format.
    - Copied the Generated Imported Certficate from SAP Trust center Site, and Imported the Certificate response for SSL Server using STRUSTSSO2.
What else I am missing here?????????
How to generate the Import Certifcate in a crt file format for SSL client (Anonymous or Standard) PSE's?????????
Kindly help me with these issue ASAP.
    Thank you,
    Nikee

Users are prompted to accept the certificate from the WLC because the clients do not have a trusted root certificate for the certificate that is installed on the WLC. The SSL certificate on the WLC is not in the list of certificates that the client system trusts. There are two ways to stop the generation of this web-browser security alert popup window:
    a) Use the self-signed SSL certificate on the WLC and configure the client stations to accept the certificate
    b) Generate a CSR and install a certificate that is signed by a source (a third-party CA) for which the clients already have the trusted root certificates installed. • How to get the ssl-certificate trusted on lion-server

I'm in the process of setting up lion server to create a small (international) research group collaborating on a project.
So I want to use the server to exchange data, use a common calendar, address-book etc.
To do so you need to get a SSL-certiifcate (unless you do everything on VPN).
So I selected the server in server.app (Hardware) and selected SSL certificate edit
created a certificate signing request that I exported and saved on my computer
I received a ssl.crt that I also saved and dragged into the window and replace the original certificate with the signed one
and also imported the certificate in to the keychain
All following the steps described in:
Managing iOS deviceswith OS X Lion Server by Arek Dryer
the book describes that the certiifcate should now be trusted and valid. However, I keep the message "This certificate was signed by an unkown authority"
So I somehow did something wrong.
Any suggestions what I should do?

ok let me add some info in the hope I will get some guidance:
    using the site http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html
I was able to check on the status of the certificate:
The certificate is not trusted in all web browsers. You may need to install an Intermediate/chain certificate to link it to a trusted root certificate. Learn more about this error. The fastest way to fix this problem is to contact your SSL provider.
since it is a non-commercial server I used a 'free?' SSL-certificate provider that will charge you when you contact them, so you have to figure it out by yourselve
I guess I would be helped if there is a step by step manual how to install a root certificate

  • Any adverse effect of an expired SSL certificate

I wanted to understand if there are any adverse effects if the SSL certificate has expired. Going logically, the communication channel between server and client browser would not be secure. I would give an example to this, if the site is say https://www.xyz.com
    1) Would the site be accessible if the SSL certificate has expired, I guess yes?
    2) Any other adverse effects?
I hope, I have been able to explain the question clearly.
Requesting a reply to my query.
    Regards

Thanks for your update. It is connecting using https. The SSL certificate is not generated at OS (RHEL) level but is done most probably at Tomcat server level which I am trying to check from the developers.

  • Problem Installing a SSL Certificate on a RD Server

I'm trying to install a 3rd party SSL Certificate (GoDaddy) on my RD Session Host server (2008 R2).  I generated the request through IIS, received the cert from GoDaddy and imported it into [Certificates(Local Computer)\Personal\Certificates].
I then went to RD Session Host Configuration,  and RDP-Tcp, and chose to select certificate.... however, I'm not given a choice...instead I receive a dialogue box saying "There are no certificates installed on this Remote Desktop Session Host server".
Any ideas why I cannot choose the cert?  Do I request the cert improperly ?  I'm stuck here...  thanks in advance for any tips!
    Scott

It looks like you have the correct certificate but perhaps didn't import it the correct way. Did you create the Certificate Request on the same machine as you imported it? Otherwise you don't have the private key. If not them import the certificate on the
same where you created the CR and then export the certificatye and make sure you select to export the private key as well and then import it on the RDS. If you followed the import steps correctly I suggest you contact GoDaddy to make sure the delivered
    a valid certificate.

  • SSL certificates for multiple websites

I am having problems with websites recognizing the SSL certificate assigned to said site. For example, I have three secure websites; (1) x.abc.com, (2) y.abc.com, and (3) z.abc.com. All are setup for SSL with associated SSL certificates from a signed authority. However, when I browse to said sites, I receive an SSL mismatch error pertaining to the domain name. For whatever reason, two of the sites want to use the main site SSL certificate.
I have verified that the sites are setup correctly with the proper SSL certificate and restarted web services. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

You do this by IP Aliasing the machine
Oh, you were referring to IP Aliases. Sorry. I interpreted your comment as meaning Server Aliases within Apache (where multiple hostnames map to the same virtual host configuration).
    My bad.
So we're both right - you need multiple IP addresses on your server (either by duplicating the inteface in System Preferences, or through IPAliases.conf) and you need to bind one SSL site to each IP address (although you could also use different port numbers on the same IP address in Apache).
If you're using NAT you still need multiple public IP addresses that forward to each of the IP Aliases (or virtual hosts).

SSL Certificate for cn=abc.com   considering abc.com as our major domain. now we have servers in this domain like    www.abc.com,   a.abc.com , b.abc.com etc. we installed the verisign certificate and configured ACE-20 accordingly for ssl-proxy and we will use same certificate gerated for abc.com for all servers like www.abc.com , a.abc.com , b.abc.com etc. Now when we are trying to access https//www..abc.com or https://a.abc.com through mozilla , we are able to access the service but we are getting this message in certfucate status " you are connected to abc.com which is run by unknown "
And the same message when trying to access https://www.abc.com from Google Chrome.
"This is probably not the site you are looking for! You attempted to reach www.abc.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as abc.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of adgate.kfu.edu.sa. You should not proceed"
so i know as this certficate is for cn=abc.com that is why we are getting such errors/status in ssl certficate.
    Now my question is
    1. Is is possible to  remove above errors doing some ssl configuration on ACE?
    2. OR we have to go for VerisgnWildcard Secure Site Pro Certificate  for CSR generated uisng cn =abc.com to be installed on ACE  and will be used  for all servers like  www.abc.com , a.abc.com etc..
    Thanks
    Waliullah

If you want to use the same VIP and port number for multiple FQDNs, then you will need to get a wildcard certificate.  Currently, if you enter www.abc.com in your browser, that is what the browser expects to see in the certificate.  And right now it won't beause your certificate is for abc.com.  You need a wildcard cert that will be for something like *.abc.com.
    Hope this helps,

  • Problem in installation of free SSL certificate on Weblogic using keytool

We tried to install SSL certificate on weblogic certificate using Keystore ..but it is giving error in console at startup and server shutdowns automatically...
    Steps followed:-
    1) To generate keystore and private key and digital cerficate:-
keytool -genkey -alias mykey2 -keyalg RSA -keystore webconkeystore.jks -storepass webconkeystorepassword
    2) To generate CSR
keytool -certreq -alias mykey2 -file webconcsr1.csr -keyalg RSA -storetype jks -keystore webconkeystore.jks -storepass webconkeystorepassword
    3) CSR is uploaded on verisign site to generate free ssl certificate. All certificate text received is paste into file (cacert.pem)
    4) Same certificate is put into same keystore using following command
keytool -import -alias mykey2 -keystore webconkeystore.jks -trustcacerts -file cacert.pem
    5) Before step 4), we have also installed root /intermediate certificate to include chain using following command.
(intermediateCa.cer file is downloaded from verisign site)
keytool -import -alias intermediateca -keystore webconkeystore.jks -trustcacerts -file intermediateCa.cer
    6) After this configuration we used weblogic admin module to configure Keystore and SSL.
    7) For KeyStore tab in weblogic admin module, we have select option “Custom Identity And Custom Trust” provided following details under Identity and Trust columns:-
    Private key alias: mykey2
    PassKeyphrase: webconkeystorepassword
Location of keystore: location of webconkeystore.jks file on server
    8) For SSL tab in weblogic admin module, we have select option “KeyStores” for “Identity and Trust locations”.
    Error on console:
    <Nov 3, 2009 3:00:17 PM IST> <Emergency> <Security> <BEA-090034> <Not listening for SSL, java.io.IOException: Failed to retrieve identity key/certificate from keystore /home/cedera/bea9.0/weblogic90/server/lib/webconkeystore.jks under alias mykey2 on server AdminServer.>

<Nov 3, 2009 3:00:17 PM IST> <Critical> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000362> <Server failed. Reason: Server failed to bind to any usable port. See preceeding log message for details.>
    <Nov 3, 2009 3:00:17 PM IST> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000365> <Server state changed to FAILED>
    <Nov 3, 2009 3:00:17 PM IST> <Error> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000383> <A critical service failed. The server will shut itself down>
    <Nov 3, 2009 3:00:17 PM IST> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000365> <Server state changed to FORCE_SHUTTING_DOWN>
If anyone knows the solution ,please help us out.Thanx in advance.
I was really happy to get reply yesterday from "mv".I was not expecting such instant response.

Thanx all guys for your interest and support.
    I have solved this issue.
We have weblogic 9 on unix env.
    Following steps which I followed:
    #generate private key
    keytool -genkey -v -alias uinbrdcsap01_apac_nsroot_net -keyalg RSA -keysize 1024 -dname "CN=linuxbox042, OU=ASIA, O=Citigroup, L=CALC, S=MH, C=IN" -validity 1068 -keypass "webconkeystorepassword" -keystore "cwebconkeystore"
    #generate csr
keytool -certreq -v -alias uinbrdcsap01_apac_nsroot_net -file linuxbox042.csr -keypass "webconkeystorepassword" -keystore "cwebconkeystore" -storepass webconkeystorepassword
Then we uploaded this csr on verisigns free ssl certificate to generate and receive certificate text.
We copied that text file in "ert4nov2009.crt" rt file used below.
Apart from that , mail which we received from verisign also contains links to download root ca certificate and intermediate ca certificate. We downloaded them.
    roo ca in "root4nov2009.cer" file.
    intermediate ca in "intermediateca4nov2009.cer"
    both these files used in
    #import root certificate
keytool -import -alias rootca -keystore "cwebconkeystore" -storepass "webconkeystorepassword" -trustcacerts -file "root4nov2009.cer"
    #import intermediate ca certificate
keytool -import -alias intermediateca -keystore "cwebconkeystore" -storepass "webconkeystorepassword" -trustcacerts -file "intermediateca4nov2009.cer"
    #install free ssl certifiate
keytool -import -alias uinbrdcsap01_apac_nsroot_net -file "cert4nov2009.crt" -trustcacerts -keypass "webconkeystorepassword" -keystore "cwebconkeystore" -storepass "webconkeystorepassword"
    #after this admin configuration
In weblogic admin console module, we did following settings:-
    1. under Configuration tab
    a. Under KeyStore tab
For keystore , we selected "Custom identity and Custom Trust"
    Under Identity,
Custom Identity Keystore:location of keystore "webconkeystore" on weblogic server
    Custom Identity Keystore Type: JKS
Custom Identity Keystore Passphrase:password for keystore mentioend above. In our case, webconkeystorepassword
Same we copied Under "Trust", as we have not created separate keystore for trust.
    Save setting.
    b. Under SSL tab
Identity and Trust Locations: select "Keystores"
Private Key Alias: alias used while creating private keyi.e. in our case "uinbrdcsap01_apac_nsroot_net"
    Save setting.
    c. Under General tab
Check checkbox "SSL Listen Port Enabled"
and mention ssl port "SSL Listen Port"
    Save setting.
After this activate changes. You might see error on admin module.
Using command prompt, stop the server and again restart and then try to access using https and port ...
    you will definately get output...
in our case issue might be due to key size..we used 1024 key size ..it solve problem.
