Hi Experts,
I know how to create a UI using Web Dynpro Java Component and build the Business Logic using Composite Application DC.
How do i link them??????
I am using CE 7.1.
Cheers

hi,
    As u might be familiar Web Dynpro Java , here u have seen the Models(Tab) in the each Component.
Procedure for using  Web services.
RightClick ( Models)>CreateModel>Select Adaptive Web Services >Next>here u have to specify the model name and the model package.>then select the "No logical Destination , use WSDL url instead">next-->here we have give the WSDL url. and Finally Click Finish.
Note: we have create  the Business Logic and exposed the logic as web services in the Server.
please follow the below link for further Explanations.

  • Composite Application with RESTful Web Services

    Hello!
    Is it possible to build Composite Application with RESTful Web Services only. I use Glassfishe 2.1 and OpenESB 2.1.
    Can you point me on some tutorials on the net to read about using RESTful Web Services in BPEL?

    Hi Gabriel,
    Let me try to answer some of your questions:
    1) The "Requires Secure Access" attribute of a resource handler controls whether this handler must be accessed/consumed only over SSL (HTTPS). Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service is only offered over SSL, so this attribute does not have any effect on RESTful services deployed in this environment (because secure access is always required and there is no other way). That said, if you want to access such web service from your own APEX instance, your instance must have Oracle Wallet configured with appropriate SSL certificate.
    2) The URI parameters are not required. If your web service returns data for many entities (for example, list of employees in employees/), you may not need a parameter. If your web service returns data for one specific entity (for example, details of one employee in employees/{id}), you may want to identify that entity with a URI parameter.
    3) You can have many URI parameters, for example: customers/{id}/orders/{order_id}.
    4) Yes, these are the same HTTP methods/verbs you would use from PHP.
    5) If you are trying this POST example from your own APEX instance (not Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service) and you are trying to access a web service over SSL, then it is likely that the Oracle Wallet used by your instance does not include the required SSL certificate(s), or the Oracle Wallet is not configured at all.
    6) I recommend to check RESTful Web Services for the Oracle Database Cloud white paper and Oracle REST Data Services Developers Guide. Oracle REST Data Services is the technology that enables RESTful services in the Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service.
    You can certainly create your own web services in the Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service and consume them from the same environment.

  • How to create table in interactive form via Java Web Dynpro

    Hi,
    How to create table in interactive form via Java Web Dynpro ?
    Any online tutorial / example ?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
    Just choose the UI element Table from Form Library and drag and drop it on the form. now choose the no. of rows and columns and other settings you want about table from the wizard initiated through this process. This all is what you have to do to create the table. Now to bind it to the fields of the data source bind the individual colums to individual attributes of the node in the datasource.
    Hope it will solve your query.

  • Using an exsiting BI query in Web Dynpro

    I am interested in using an existing BI query in Web Dynpro.  The NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0.06 contains some good documentation about how to create and execute an MDX statement on a BI cube.  However, I find this approach both complicated and impractical and I'd like to maintain my queries solely in the BI Query Designer.  I cannot find any documentation on importing an existing BI Query and using it within Web Dynpro.  I find this odd since the BI Java SDK Developers Guide specifically recommends this.  Is it the case that a BI Query can be treated as a cube within the Java code and found through IBIOlap?  Further, I cannot find any examples that show me how to construct a graph from the data as portrayed in the "BI Java SDK: A Business Scenario" portion of the NetWeaver documentation, or, place the result set on a table that can be used in an IView.  Also, all of the examples in the documentation are Servlet based.  I'm looking to create IViews for Portal deployment.  In summary, I'd like to create a table and graph combination, based on a BI Query, that I can deploy to the Portal using Web Dynpro.  Can you provide some insight on these questions and point me to some concrete examples of how to do these things?

    Vitaliano,
    You make a very good point.  And it is probably the way that we will go.  However, my task is to evaluate Web Dynpro and Visual Composer for our needs.  Especially since the graphing capabilities in Web App Designer are limited for our needs.  We will, at some point, have a need to combine warehoused information in BI with real-time data in R/3.  I'm anticipating that this is where Web Dynpro will be useful for us.  Therefore, my questions as stated regarding Web Dynpro.  I just find it strange that none of the SAP documentation elaborates on the topics that I am concerned with, even though tantalizing capability summaries are dangled throughout.
    Thank you.

  • Using a Deployable Proxy in a Web Dynpro Application

    Hi,
    We have a Web Dynrpo application whose model is built from a set of Java business objects (POJOs.)  These Java business objects currently make calls to a back-end R/3 system using JCo.  We would like to provide the ability to allow the calls to be made over Web Services to the back-end system.
    To call the RFMs as web services we have created a Deployable Proxy project, added the proxy as a public part, then referenced that public part in the web dynpro application.  At this point we can write code to call the web service that looks something like:
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    Object serviceObject = ctx.lookup("wsclients/proxies/meridium.com/rcmo~proxies/com.meridium.rcmo.ws.proxies.plants.PlantProxy");
    Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTSService service = (Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTSService)ctx.lookup("wsclients/proxies/meridium.com/rcmo~proxies/com.meridium.rcmo.ws.proxies.plants.PlantProxy");
    Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTSPortType port = service.getLogicalPort();
    Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTS plantParameter = new Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTS();
    plantParameter.setI_PLANTID(id);
    plantParameter.setI_PLANTNAME(name);
    Z_MRDM_GET_PLANTSResponse response = port.z_MRDM_GET_PLANTS(plantParameter);
    MT001W[] plantArray = response.getET_PLANTS();
    The problem is that when I call looup to retrieve the service implementation I get a ClassCastException.
    The tutorials for using a proxy in web dynpro all assume that the web service is what the model is based upon but that's not possbile for our scenario we need to call the proxy from the business objects which are the basis for our model.
    According to the help documentation for consuming a deployable proxy in a JSP page:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2d/b9766df88f4a24967dae38cb672fe1/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2d/b9766df88f4a24967dae38cb672fe1/frameset.htm</a>
    It discusses adding JNDI mappings.  Is this what's needed for the reference to work in a Web Dypro application too?  If so, how would one add the JNDI mappings references to a Web Dynpro application?
    Many thanks!

    Hi Dheeram,
    I'm not certain about JSPDynpage specifically, but in a general J2EE Enterprise Application project you can add a reference to the application-j2ee-engine.xml file.  For example here's the content of an application-j2ee-engine.xml file that references a proxy:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE application-j2ee-engine SYSTEM "application-j2ee-engine.dtd">

    Hi,
    >> I have some portal service and how to use that in the web dynpro application.
    Yes. U can use Portal service in webdynpro. Check the link given by subathra.
    >> and also what is the main diff between Portal Component and web dynpro application
    Portal Components are components designed to run in portal server while webdynpro application can run in J2EE WebAS.
    >> do we required portal to run web dynpro application.
    No for general cases. Just WebAS is sufficient to run webdynpro appl. But if u use portal service in ur webdynpro appl, then make sure both (portal service and webdynpro appl) run on same J2EE engine. That is mandatory.

  • How i use nwdi to modify existing standard web dynpro application

    Hi,
    I need  to change some existing application of web dynpro Java. I found solution nwdi would help in that. But how i use it can any one explain me in detail. Nwdi has already installed over here. So can i use it can explain me step by step.
    Regards,
    Gurprit Bhatia

    Hi,
    First you need to import the WD application to your NWDS and then you need to checkout the code for making any changes after making the chanhes you have to checkin the code.
    First you need to setup the portal path in
    1. WIndow->Preferences->Java Development Infrastructure->development Configurations.
    2. You have to create a client in DTR by going into DTR Perspective.
    3. Import the configuration from the track (this is your standard WD application) in Development Configurations Perspective.
    4. Create the project from Inactive DCs tab.
    5. Navigate to WD Perspective and build the project.
    6. Check out the code to make chnages
    7. Checkin the code after making the changes
    8. Test the application in Portal

  • Problem in calling XI generated Web Service via Java Web Dynpro

    Hi experts,
    I have problems with calling a web service, which was created by XI. I have already tested the web service with Altova XMLSpy. The Web Service works fine.
    But when embedding this web service into Java Web dynpro application no message flow is given. I have two views one Selection View and one Result View which should show the answer sent by RFC-Call.
    <b>My Settings in NWDS:</b>
    During configuration of web dynpro I have choosen 'Import adaptive Web Service Model' --> Select wsdl file via local file system --> 'no logical destinations - use WSDL URL for metadata retrieval and web service execution'.
    The model is also not shown in diagram view although I have added into the diagram.
    The web service was created on XI 7.0.
    Should I do any other settings e.g. in Visual Administrator, Web Dynpro Content Administrator?
    So can anybody help me.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Mario

    Hi Aviad,
    thanks for your fast reply.
    But in Web Service Navigator my Web Service is not shown, because I used the SOAP Adapter.
    <b>My Web Service link:</b>

    During executing Web Dynpro I got following errors:

  • BADI for changing Appraisal document application name for Web dynpro ABAP

    Hi,
    For Appraisal document customizing through PHAP_CATALOG_PA, We have BADI HRHAP00_BSP_TMPL  to change the BSP application name which can be used in Web layout for output display. Using this we can change application name from HAP_DOCUMENT to custom BSP application name
    Similarly, what is the BADI for changing Web dynpro ABAP applictaion name? Currently its triggering HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT.
    how do we change application name to some custom web dynpro application name
    Regards,
    Kothand

    Hi Karim,
    I don't know, if there is any chance to get the Webdynpro application name. At least in the ABAP System fields is no information about the webdynpro application name.
    One remark: I have allways problems with BAPIS / BADIS that behave different depending on the caller. Could it be a good idea to pass some information through the interface / parameters?
    Best regards

  • Use of multiple components in ABAP WEB DYNPRO

    Hi,
    Am  new to  abap web dynpro and I just want to know whether  we  can  use  multiple components for an application in web dynpro.
    Thanks ,

    Hi,
    depending requirement of application we can use multiple components.
    for example if we want to display table data into alv grid for that we can use the existing(standard component) ie: SALV_WD_TABLE  .Like such a way we can use the components as per our requirements.
    For importing components:
    --> Go to properties tab of view of your web dynpro application
    --> There you can find one button create controller usage ,click on it then import the components

  • How to use the catalog in our own Web Dynpro program?

    Hi Expert,
    How to access MDM catalog and bring the product data back to a our own Web Dynpro program?

    Hi  Masa,
    The Catalog Search UI of SRM that is referred to as UI as aforementioned is a page which is capable of the selection of catalog items is linked from the shopping cart creation.
    Our biz requirement content two scenarioes to processing the purchase requirement.
    A.  Create shopping cart via the catalog (PR) --> SRM PO Process --> SUS(PO and Invoice)
    This is the standard SRM purchase scenario and we have already implemented that.
    B. Create a requirement document via the catalog (This document is same with the SC but very simple, and we create this function by the own web dynpro program) --> transfer the requirement document to other purchasing system(none SAP)  in our intranet.
    So the key problems we faced are below:
    1. How to connect to the catalog search UI from our own web dynpro program.
    ( If we connect the catalog via the MDM ABAP API, that will make the catalog serach UI could not be used;
    Also  it has been failed to simulate the function of SC's connection to the catalog;
    So we decide to link the catalog serach UI via the URL, the linkage is "http://<J2EEserver:J2EEport>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM?sap-locale=EN&HOOK_URL=&mask=&namedSearch=General&username=&password=&catalog=<Repository Name>&server=&datalanguage=EN". )
    2. How to transfer the catalog item data to our own web dynpro program.
    If we link the catalog search UI by URL, we can not find any good method to transfer the catalog item data to our own program.

  • Calling a BSP application on a Web-Dynpro screen

    Hi all,
    We have a requirement as below:
    In the SAP Standard Web-Dynpro screen we have a Tab-strip control, where there are 2 tabs.
    We need to enhance the tab-strip control and add a new tab. On the same tab we need to call a BSP application.
    It meas when we select the tab we should be able to see a specific BSP Application there.
    How can this be made possible?
    One way that I can think of is by creating the Service calls... However, I am not sure how can the service call can be created and used to call a BSP App to be displayed on the screen.
    Waiting for your replies.
    Regards,
    Kunjal Patel

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for the reply. It was quite helpful in analyzing the available options for the development.
    Now, with the further analysis from your inputs, following are the findings:
    1. BSP is a Stateful BSP.
    2. Yes, We are using this web-dynpro in the portal. How can we go about with the alternative way suggested by you about the iView? As i have very limited knowledge about the Portal hence a little more help from you will be helpful.
    Is it like we can provide a button on the screen and then when a user clicks the button the result is a new window of the browser with the given portal link?
    Please suggest.

    Kunjal Patel

  • How can i use vertical Scroll in ALV at web dynpro abap?

    Normally, i'm using 'UP/DOWN button' while set a alv in web dynpro though,
    wanna change to scroll vertically.
    well, there is a way using ifram so i cant make alv inside of ifram for make a scroll.
    but then, part of header also might be scroll together with data.
    so, i'm asking to help is there anybody who can let me know about it?
    Thanks.
    with Regards,
    Yui.

    Hi Suresh,
    I had the same problem. The reason is that the result of
      select * from wdy_app_property into table p_property_table
              where application_name = p_application.
    in CL_WDY_MD_APPLICATION=>GET_PROPERTIES_STATIC
    for p_property_table-value is not "SCROLLBAR" but " SCROLLBAR".
    Here is a workaround: type in the application parameters "SCROLLBAR " instead of "SCROLLBAR".

  • Access Application Services from Web Dynpro DC

    Hi Experts,
    We created a CAF DC which has an application service called ClientAppService, with a method findClientsById. We also created another DC, a Web Dynpro DC, which makes use of the model generated by the CAF DC. We have programmatic access to the application service through
    ClientAppServiceProxy.findClientsById()
    , but when running the DC which makes this call we receive the following error:
    com.sap.caf.rt.exception.CAFBaseRuntimeException: Query with name findClientsById does not exist
    We've managed to call Application Services before, but that was when the Web Dynpro was in the same DC as the CAF services. Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    JP

    Hi Smith,
    One of the possible reasons of this error is may be your CAF project is not properly deployed in the Server in which you have deployed your WebDynpro project. So during the execution of the WebDynpro project while it tries to invoke this findby from the Application Service of your CAF project it fails to find a match. May be by mistake you have deployed your CAF Application Service first and added the findBy method later. So if your properly deploy your total CAF project in the same server in which you have deployed your WebDynpro project it may resolve your problem.
    Thanks and Regards
