Using a datalink with sequence

Hello all!
I'm trying to use a sequence from a differnet database by using a datalink. I know my sequence works as well as my datalink. However, my stored procedure won't compile because of this statement.
select cahistoryid.nextval into v_nNewCAHistoryID from [email protected];
The error message states. "Identifier 'cahistory.nextval' must be declared"
Is there another way to do this or can it not be accomplished?
Any help would be great!!
TIA
Brian

Hey thanks Todd!! Worked like a charm! I've only been developing in PL/SQL for 6 months and figuring out stuff like this through books w/o alot of content can be frustrating!
Thanks again!
Brian

    I'm using Bpel process manager.
I'm trying to use multiple partname fields in my xsd. I'have defined a sequence occurence in my xsd.
In the xslt mapper I see just one partname. How can I map initials, nickname, fullname etc to the 'different' partnames while I just see one.
    I'hope somebody can help me?

I use the following xsd (just part of the whole xsd):
    <xsd:complexType name="nameType">
    <xsd:sequence>
         <xsd:element name="partname" type="partnameType" minOccurs="3" maxOccurs="5"/>
         </xsd:sequence>

In the xslt mapper I just see one text field. So I can connect only nickname to the text field. I suspect more text fields.

  • File naming with sequence

My editor requires that I name a file as in the following example:
    FI_RX_London(sequence number)
if I try this while importing using file name with sequence, there will be a - sign in front of the number. My question, how do I remove the - sign

In the import dialog, pick Filename-Sequence from the drop down File Naming list. (you will have done this already). Now click the drop-down list again and choose Edit. You will now see the Filename Template Editor window; remove the hyphen from the text box that shows
{Filename>>}-{Sequence #(1)>>}. When you edit this, you will see the example just above it, reflect the change.

  • Using "Single Pass" entry point with sequences not named "MainSequence"

    Hi,
The object model of TestStand provides clustering of multiple sequences in one sequence file. The editor itself allways knows which sequence the user has actually selected (enrty Run ... in Menu Execute is allways fullfilled with the correct sequence name).
Why isn't there any support of using the entry points of the model with this selected sequence, these sequences use the default "MainSequence" if they are called by the corresponding menu entry of the Execute Menu.
I am looking for any solution to use the entry points (by menu calls) with sequences not named MainSequence as well.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Sunny

    Sunny -
In the process model entry point "Single Pass", if you look at the sequence context during an execution, you will notice that the sequence that was visible or "selected" at the time of the execution is started is specified under "RunState.InitialSelection.SelectedSequences[0]". You could alter the MainSequence call step in the process model to call that sequence instead. Keep in mind that you will have to decide how to handle the case when no sequence is selected, do you call MainSequence or do nothing?

  • Using Proteus X with a midi sequencer - VST work around

I got Proteus X with the X-board 61. I've been trying to use it with Cubase. First it took me a while to figure out that Proteus X has to be used with a sequencer using VST you can't just select it as a midi device.
Am I wrong here? I really can't believe it is set up this way and that more people aren't complaining about it. Maybe I just missed something and you really can use Proteus X as a midi device?
When I set up Proteus X as a VST instrument in cubase there is a half second delay in triggering sounds from the X board. After the midi data is recorded in the timing play back is just fine. I did a little research and it seems that this problem is happening because the latency on my sound card is too high (I could be wrong here too). I'm just using the internal card on my laptop. I might think about getting a fancy external card, but I wouldn't want to have some other thing to drag around with my laptop and keyboard.
Anyway my work around is this: I don't load Proteus X as a VST instrument, but just as a stand alone app. I downloaded MIDI yolk here: http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm . (I also tried maple midi port but it didn't work for me).
In Proteus X go to Options>Preferences>MIDI and for Ch 1 - 16 set it to "In From MIDI Yolk: 1" For Ch 17 - 32 set it to EmuXboard61(or what every your controller is)then OK
Now you can load sounds into channels 1-16 in Proteus X.
In Cubase for each MIDI track set the in to E-MU Xboard61 (or your controller) and the out to "Out To MIDI Yolk 1"
This will allow both your controller and sequencer to control Proteus X at the same time without using VST. This work around also allows you to use Proteus X to play back any MIDI file from any windows application. Just go to the windows Control panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Audio tab and set the MIDI music playback Default Device to "Out To MIDI Yolk: 1"
Hope this helps somebody like it did me.
It would be really cool if there was a way to set this up to use the additional ch 17-32 in Proteus X. I haven't quite figured it out yet. Anyone have suggestions?

IMO FL is not wery good with MIDI recording.
Insert #1 Channel --> select Proteus-X from the list. Set some patch on Proteus-X
Insert #2 Channel --> select Proteus-X from the list. Set some patch on Proteus-X
    etc.
I suppose you can use the MIDI recording functionality on FL (eg. select track to record add an instrument on it, press record button start with play button (you can set wait for keyboard, snap/step/..., metronome, etc from those tiny icons(light)).

  • Please can someone advise; Can I connect my 'Focusrite Saffire' audio interface using Garageband as the sequencer? Necessary as a consequence of 'Cubase LE' being incompatible with OS Lion

    Warmly appreciated

Not sure I understand what you want to do, but
    • your interface should work with GB if it works with Lion at all
    • you can't use GB as a sequencer driving other sound units via midi since GB doesn't send midi signals out, it only receives.

  • Using JMS adapter with J2ee native queuing system

    Hi there,
As far as I have understood J2EE contains it's own native queuing system (JMS). Since the J2EE is part of the WAS, shouldn't it be possible to somehow use XI's JMS adapter in conjunction with this native JMS?
I've tried to search many places in many ways, but haven't been able to find any info. Is it possible at all?
Hope, some of u guys can help out there:-)

    Hi Keith,
It looks as if you are in the same situation.
We have this working very nicely now and I'm happy to share. In fact I was just granted wiki permissions so I can add the information there along with screen shots.
Informaiton on this configuration is very scattered but I imagine many people would find it useful for integrating with Mainframes without adding any complexity to the legacy environment. Let me come back to you with some more inormation, but for now you can get started with this:
Insert a module as the 3rd line in your Module Processing Sequence to use AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean and give it a key in order to associate with the parameters you will need to type in below. These parameters are very similar to normal XI File adapter parameters.
SAP Note 793922 has more info on the parameters... not the greatest reference I know.
    Also this has some info...

Why are you using dynamic SQL statements? Why not just use something like this instead in your PL/SQL. I also replaced the leading // in your Xpath with just / since you start from the root node.
    select *
      INTO l_dummy
from xmltable(XMLNAMESPACES('http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' AS "XSD", default 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/'),

                    passing xmltype(l_xml)
                    columns
ab xmltype path '.' ) t;Also, the above returns two rows, which I suspect is not what you want. Here is the pure SQL version for you to debug.
    select *
from xmltable(XMLNAMESPACES('http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' AS "XSD", default 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/'),

  • Can we send the same message two different recievers with sequence

    Hi,
i am sending the same message to two different receviers without using BPM.
now i require to send with sequence.is it possible without BPM?

    Hey
There are two options for this
First one is to use Wait step in BPM as other experts suggested.
Second one is a dirty way around, what you can do is send the second message to a dummy receiver first(may be a file on your XI server),then design one bypass scenario which will pick up the file after a specified time interval(give the poling interval you want).
i would go for BPM coz its pretty straight forward, but in case you want to avoid BPM then u can use the second approach
for bypass scenario, have a look at the following

  • Problems with Sequence Operator in OWB

    Hi everybody,
i want to use a sequence in my mapping. Now i have two problems.
The first problem is the following. When i want to import my sequence (exists on my DB) i can select the sequence in the Selection Window, but when i click on Import i didn't see it in the Design Center, also there is no window which tells me that i have successfully imported the sequence.
The second problem is, when i drag the Sequence Operator into my Mapping i shows the Selection Window where i have to select the poject and object to bind the operator. But i can't select any object.
Can anyone help me with my problems and tell me how i can use a Sequence and the Sequence Operator in my Mapping
    Many thanks in advance.
    Greetings

    Hi everyone!
I'm having a repeated problem with sequences in OWB: I'm filling a TIME table with 1096 rows. Now matter how and when I create the sequence it always starts with 2 instead of 1. Moreover, the last value of the sequence is 1101, when it was supposed to be 1097 or 1098....
I did achieve the right ouput sometimes, but I must be doing something wrong. Here are the several ways I've tried in OWB:
    1) I've created all the sequences by sql code, in SQL DEVELOPER or PLUS*, and then imported to OWB. Because of being imported, I didn't have to deploy each sequence. Then, I've connected (by drag and drop to the canvas mapping) the sequence I wanted with NEXTVAL (as I always do) attached do TIME_ID of table TIME;
    2) I've dropped and created, several times(as before), the sequences and never had problems..until now. I've also experimented creating, by scratch, the sequences just in OWB and then deploy them in Control Center. After this, deployed the mapping and executed, just like in 1).
So, the difference lies on how I create the sequences and what are the correct steps to create, deploy (if needed), deploy the map and execute the map.
This is insain and I really need this to work. I've tried so many ways....
Could someone PLEASE help me with this? Any thoughts?

  • Problem in executing report using rwrun.sh with runtime/lexical parameters

    hi..
    My problem is as follows..
I'm using SuSE8.0, with Oracle DS installed..
I made a rep file to execute a report from command line using rwrun.sh.
For the first time I got problems with single quotes and later I solved it by using \ as escape sequence and I can generate the report.
    I have 2 lexical parameters.
    1) atable --> for table names
    2) whereford --> for WHERE condition
When I make the following command I execute it successfully and get the report .
    /opt/oracle/OraHome1/bin/rwrun.sh /opt/jakarta/webapps/ROOT/std-reports/DiagnoseProtokolle.rep userid=test/test@approxim batch=yes desname=/opt/jakarta/webapps/ROOT/kovi_361_Report.PDF destype=file desformat=PDF atable=\',SD_DIAGNOSESYSTEME\' whereford=\'\ \(\(\ SD_DIAGNOSESYSTEME.bezeichnung\ =\'AIRBAG\'\ \)\)\ AND\ \(\(\ SD_DIAGNOSESYSTEME.bezeichnung\ =\'ABS\'\ \)\)\ AND\' tracefile=/opt/jakarta/webapps/ROOT/trace/trace.log tracemode=TRACE_REPLACE
    ** In one line..
If I don't use \ for escaping braces it doesn't work and also for spaces and single quotes.
I use braces as I get sometimes mixed conditions..
But when I make a condition like for eg: emp.emp_id = dept.emp_emp_id it is not executing..
i mean primary key is referd to foreign key of another table.
so in the same way the error prone command looks like this
    /opt/oracle/OraHome1/bin/rwrun.sh /opt/jakarta/webapps/ROOT/std-reports/DiagnoseProtokolle.rep userid=test/test@approxim batch=yes desname=/opt/jakarta/webapps/ROOT/kovi_361_Report.PDF destype=file desformat=PDF atable=\',MESSWERTE,SD_DIAGNOSESYSTEME\' whereford=\'\ \(\(\ MESSWERTE.mess_id\ =\ SD_DIAGNOSESYSTEME.mess_mess_id\ AND\ SD_DIAGNOSESYSTEME.bezeichnung\ =\'AIRBAG\'\ \)\)\ AND\ \(\(\ SD_DIAGNOSESYSTEME.bezeichnung\ =\'ABS\'\ \)\)\ AND\' tracefile=/opt/jakarta/webapps/ROOT/trace/trace.log tracemode=TRACE_REPLACE
when I had a look at the trace.log file I see that particular condition is transformed in to
    MESSWERTE.mess_id = 'SD_DIAGNOSESYSTEME.mess_mess_id'
    but this is completely awkward.
Then I made a batch file and tested it on windows and i put the whole condition in double quotes and it worked always fine..
It seems the problem is with the shell ..or ??
In my rwrun.sh th elast line looks like this..
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rwrun $*
I also tried to chaneg this to
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rwrun "$@" and also $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rwrun "$*"
    but no progress..
If some one could help me it would be gratefull for me..
    Thanx in advance..

    Kovi

Here's the relevant portion from the Bash manual:
Enclosing characters in double quotes preserves the literal value of all characters within the quotes, with the exception of $, `, and \. The characters $ and ` retain their special meaning within double quotes. The backslash retains its special meaning only when followed by one of the following characters: $, `, ", \, or <newline>. A double quote may be quoted within double quotes by preceding it with a backslash.
So basically stop escaping the single-quotes with a backslash, and instead enclose the entire argument value in double-quotes. Add the single-quotes only if you want them literally, don't escape the parentheses, etc. Let's know if it works for you.

  • CS4: How do I get a list of footage used in a given sequence?

    Hey, guys.
I have 10 Premiere Pro projects, one per episode. In addition to the main timeline, there are numerous other scratch sequences, one per character. The projects have all shots for that episode for each character. I use the scratch sequences to snip out the portions I want for the main timeline.
I have to re-render a lot of this footage in After Effects (color correction) and render time is an issue. I'd like to know what footage is actually being used in the main episode sequence so I can render just the ones I need. So far, I haven't found a straightforward report or way to get this information. The best I've come up with is to copy the project, delete everything but the main sequence, purge unused and see what's left. That's pretty clunky.
Is there a better way to get a list of what's used in my main sequence?
    Thanks!

PP doesn't have any 'reporting' capabilities, even in CS6.  The only way is to look and write.
