I think the topic says it all. What options are available to iPhone users with phones purchased in other countries, using carriers from those countries when they visit the US?

Is there a way to dump photos to, say, a SD card directly from the iphone. Do not have a computer or ipad away and would like to free up some space.

I was wondering if anyone knows if I can use a Verizon iPhone 5S on Japan's au with an au SIM card???
(Verizon iPhone 5S comes factory unlocked and freely accepts GSM nano SIMs from other US carriers. This question is specifically for people with firsthand knowledge of American phones working on Japanese networks with Japanese SIM cards.)
I'll be living in Japan for just 7 more months, so it doesn't make sense to buy an impossible-to-unlock Japanese iPhone now. Only if the device is unlocked. Not all US devices are unlocked, as you probably know.

If a new SIM is activated on the same account for the same number, any existing SIMs for that number are deactivated.
Why exactly would you care if the SIM in the missing device still works or not?

Using find my iphone while roaming without notifications activated

Hello,
I used to be able to use "Find my iPhone" while roaming internationally without have push notifications on (iOS 4.x.x.) but now with iOS 5 there isn't a way to use that feature without enabling notifications as well.
In Settings>General>Network
There is an option of Cellular Data but it turns off Data Roaming when you disactivate Cellular Data.
Basically my question is, is there anyway to turn off all notifications while roaming yet have find my iphone activated.
I know that if I send a message in say "whatsapp" in 4.x.x it would send but i wouldn't get notified unless I was in the app, but now they are pushed either way which makes it expensive for me since I am roaming 270 days out of the year.

If you are having the same issue on several computers then it is a hardware issue! Not a software issue! Replacement is the only resolution!

There are some countries where FaceTime is not option on the iPhone iOS5, and there is no way to put it back, if you bought an iPhone in one of these countries.

My iPhone 5s has stopped working (the home button was sporadically unresponsive and is now completely unresponsive), so I've opened a ticket to have it repaired by Apple and they're going to send a box to me. However, I'm not thrilled about the idea of not having a phone at all. Is it possible for me to use my old iPhone 4 while my 5s is being repaired by Apple? Would it be complicated? I'm with Verizon Wireless in the United States.

Actually, you might be able to download Angry Birds to your iPhone 4. Your App Store downloads/purchases are tied to your Apple ID, not your iPhone. Angry Birds only requires iOS 5+ to run. And IIRC, it associates to GameCenter (which also uses your Apple ID), so you might even be able to pick up right where you left off.
And you should be able to even sign into your iCloud on your iPhone 4, and if your Contacts, for example, were synced with iCloud, those should come back over. While you can't restore a 'full backup', you can definitely get a lot of the same functionality on your 'backup' iPhone.

yes I have a problem. big problem which is causing an itch in my nose. I M a college student and i use wifi of my college for internet surfing and downloading from my iphone 5. for That I got to first login into cyberoam. I do so and start browsing. but the problem is,the cyberoam login page pops up every minute asking to login. it causes problem while I keep anything for downloading. it's the cause only with my iPhone 5. I already tried reformatting my phone.. Erased all content and settings.. And still the same..
BTW my phone runs on latest iOS 5.1

Restore as a New phone. Do not restore your backup. Add your apps back. If the problem still exists you have a hardware problem. If this fixes it you have a corrupt backup.
This assumes your phone is not jailbroken. If it is all bets are off.
