Using Date object in JAXP

I have a C# web service and a Java client. I am trying to access a function on my C# webservice which has one of its parameter as DateTime (C# object). When I built a SOAP Message in my Java client, how and where should I specify about the Date/Calendar object.
Need it URGENT!! Please help out. Have been searching net for couple of days.
Thanks,
Siddhartha

Just an additional note. I am using JAXP for the client side Java program.

  • Using Date objects in SQL statements

Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to use Date objects while trying to retrieve entries from an access database with fields set as "Date/Time" fields, as opposed to "Text"? If so, do I need to reformat it before inserting it into the SQL statement, or can I just leave it as a Date object, and call up the variable name?
For example - "SELECT * FROM database WHERE startDate = ' " + dateObject + ' ". And do i need quotes round this value?
    Thanks in advance.

I had some problems by just fetching a date and pushing it back to a MS SQL Database.
I used the following reformating step to fix it:
    if (o instanceof Timestamp)
    String time = o.toString().substring(8,10)+"."+o.toString().substring(5,7)+"."+o.toString().substring(0,4)+" "+o.toString().substring(11,19);
    ht.put(columnName, time);
o is the object i receve from the select statement and ht is a Hashtable where i put my data.
To write the data back i now can use:
UPDATE table SET columnname = 'valueOfColumn'
This means i use the value i created above in Quotes to write it back.
Format of Timestamp.toString() is something like yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.xx
Format used by MS SQL (and i think by Access to) 'dd.mm.yyyy hh:mm:ss'

  • Using Date objects in PDV tables

    Hi,
Using SAP EP 6.0, SP9 and MSS 6.1.3, we're having at bit of trouble using other object types than String i PDV tables. The Java syntax allows for specifying other types by means of
    table.getColumn( "colName" ).setDataType( DataType.DATE );
But nothing shows in the table; the cells are just left blank.
Has anyone succeeded in specifying the data type?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Everyone,
I'm using data transfer workbench (OInventoryGenEntry) to send the production to sap-bo. Do you know what changes should I apply to the layouts in order to make the DTW transfer the Item Price?

Thank You Vincent. It works for finish goods that currently have cost in the sap-bo (taking std or avg) . Do you what should I do when the item is receiving the first-transation and it is an inventory entry coming from DTW ? Because when I test this conditions, the field "price" is ignored and when I check the inventory entry sent using dtw the recorded cost is "cero".

yeah, he said like 20 times "one big main method, no

Problems: 1. I am having trouble wrapping my mind
around the logic,Meaning what? You described it--or was that just copy/paste of what's in the asisgnent? I gave you some pseudocode that's practically Java already.
Just try it. Take your best shot and write some test cases and see how close you are.
    2. I don't know if this (below)
syntax works.Try it. If the syntax is wrong, it won't compile.
Once you get it to compile, then test it. Here's one reason why you'd want a separate method--you could test just that method by itself. As it stands, the easiest way to test it is to always give it just one year and see if you end up with the proper count--zero or one. If you give it many, you could end up with the right number by having the same number of false positives and false negatives.
Once you know it works for one year, feed it a few lists of 5 or 10.
btw jverd, I appreciate your helpYou're quite welcome. It looks like you're on the right track. Just don't be afraid to try stuff and see what happens, and then come back with specific questions about the specific problems you observed. :-)
---- Edit ----Or do like DrClap suggested and print each one. This way you can still test many at once.

  • Problem with Date objects

I have a problem when using Date objects. If i create a Date object like this:
Date d = new Date( 2002,03,20,19,45 ), and i try to get the number of Milliseconds
    ( d.getTime() ) i get a number that cannot be correct. I't is to high. I't looks like i
get the number of Milliseconds to year 3000+ ?? But if i write out the Date object
using a DateFormat.getInstance(), the date is equal to the date i entered above!
Can anybody help me with this ?? Please ??

Hi... as far as I remember, the getTime method returns the number of milliseconds since January 1 1970 (a holdover from Unix days).

  • BAM data object lookup fields for real-time data

I have two tables T1 and T2 and associated data objects DO1 and DO2. T2 has two columns EventId and AgencyId which form composite primary key. I am creating an Updating Ordered List Report to show data from boths tables T1 and T2. How will I use Data objects lookup to achieve this. Is this possible, as the data feed will be real-time and I don't know whether T1 or T2 data will arrive earlier. I need to show all data in T1 and relevant Status column data from T2 based on EventId and AgencyId. Please suggest if datalookup fields will help achieve my use case in real-time scenario.
    Thanks

Is there a working example of how the Lookup fields work for BAM data objects.

  • Re: [SunONE-JATO] Re: Using an object to store and display data

Personally, I think there is little or no value to creating a "domain"
object that itself relies on a JATO QueryModel internally, but hides that
fact and requires use of BeanAdapterModel.
It would be more appropriate (and much less work, and more scalable) to just
derive a QueryModel subclass and add the domain-specific behavior to the
model. In other words, what's the point of creating an object that hides
JATO inside it when you're running in JATO to begin with? Now if the domain
object were doing plain JDBC, and thus trying to be JATO independent, that
would be different. However, you could still implement the Model interface
on the object (or use BeanAdapterModel) to integrate it seamlessly with the
    View tier.

    Craig,
I think it all finally makes sense. First, your assumption is
correct regarding the process flow. The ViewBean will interact with
a custom Javabean which will then in turn interact with a SQL Model
to access the database. So now let me make sure I understand what I
need to do. Basically the custom Javabean will have a method to get
the SQLModel. I would then invoke the setValue method on the
SQLModel and call the appropriate execute method( e.g.,
executeUpdate, etc. ) just like I would do from a ViewBean. Does
    this sound correct?
    Thanks,

    is
a very basic model ) that I now have with a query model toactually
    interact with the database.
Not sure what you mean by "interface this BeanAdapterModel ... witha
query model". Does this mean that you have a ViewBean the interactswith
a custom JavaBean via the BeanAdpterModel wrapper, and from the
JavaBean you are interacting with the SQL Model?
So it looks like this: ViewBean > BeanAdapterModel(Custom JavaBean)
    SQL Model > RDBMS
That's what I am reading anyway. Please explain this to me.
Would I need to make direct JDBC calls
from my custom model instead of letting JATO dynamically create
    the
    calls for me?
If my assumptions above are correct, then the custom JavaBean cansimply
use the SQL Model in exactly the same manner as the ViewBean, otherwise,
if no SQL Model is involved, then yes, you need to handle JDBCdirectly,
which is fine, if you do it "right" (connection pooling, result set
    handling, etc.).

  • Extract account Based COPA from R/3 using Business Object data services

    Hello,
We have a requirement to extract Account Based COPA from SAP R/3 to Teradata using Business Objects data services.
I have read couple of white papers which give information on Rapid Marts( which are built in packages) already available for some applications like inventory, GL, AP, AR etc. But I could not find anything for COPA.
Would anyone give me any information on how to use BO data services for COPA?
Also if there is no rapid mart available for COPA, does anyone know how to create custom data marts in BO Data services?
Is there any document available on this?
Please respond as soon as possible.
    Thanks.

  • Import Data object using web service adapter

    Hello experts,
In DOE, theres a way to import Data Object from a wsdl using webservice adapter. We got to know that there are some guidelines(constraints) on the operations provided in the wsdl to be able to use webservice adapter. Could you please give a sample wsdl which can be used to import Data object for our reference?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Srilatha

    Hi Srilatha,
SAP Netweaver 7.3 is not yet released to customers.  Once, this happens we will post sufficient documentation related to the Import of Data Objects through WSDLs.  In case you require the information urgently, kindly get in touch directly with the colleagues from DOE Mobile team.

  • Delete a row from a data object using an AQ-driven EMS

    Hello, technetwork.
I need to show the contents of a table that changes frequently (inserts, updates and deletes) at ORDBMS 10g in my BAM dashboard.
    What i have done is:
    - Create two different queue tables, queues.
    - Create two triggers: one for "AFTER insert or UPDATE" and the other for "BEFORE DELETE".
    - Create two EMS, one configured to Upsert operations and the other to Delete.
    - The Upsert EMS works, but the Delete EMS does not.
    - Both EMS Metrics say that they work fine and commit the messages i send to the ADC.
    - Testing showed records are populated and updated in the ADC but never deleted.
There is a detailed user case for "Creating an EMS Against Oracle Streams AQ JMS Provider" in the Fusion Midleware Developer's Guide for SOA Suite, but it deals only with Upserts. I am using the last versions of SOA suite and Weblogic. The official support has no information either.
I hope writing a web service client isn't the only way to delete a row from a data object. Am i missing something? Any help will be much appreciated.

How to accomplish this using JavaScript?Using Javascript? Well, you know, Javascript runs at the client side and intercepts on the HTML DOM tree only. The JSF code is completely irrelevant. Open your JSF page in your favourite webbrowser and view the generated HTML source. Finally just base your Javascript function on it.

  • Is it mandatory to use Business object for data transfer and work flow?

    <font size="3">

In our enterprise projects we deal with some screens where we add or update some data and again
we retrieve that data and display to user in various ways like displaying on screen as
a report or viewing in excel etc.. Most of the times, though we identify the business objects
based on the nouns in requirements document, really while implementing there will not be any
business logic in the objects. Almost all the objects which we identfy as business objects
may have methods like add, delete, update and retrieve methods. Still in these cases, is it required to
have business objects or can we use transfer object to send the data for saving and retriving or any other
pattern/guideline is there for dealing such cases?
I really appreciate your comments on this topic.
Also I apologize ahead of time if my explanation is not clear to you.

In my opinion, DAO pattern would be suitable for you. Generally the DAO (Data Access Object) will have the CRUD (create, read, update, delete) methods to retrieve data from data-source (e.g. database). Based on the data it will create the DTOs (Data Transfer Objects) and pass them to the caller. It will also receive the DTOs from the caller and save it the data-source. Thus in your case you can
    - remove the CRUD methods from the Business Objects (BO) and make them pure DTOs and use them with DAOs (If you are using JDBC codes inside your application and you don't have much of validation or processing logic in your BOs).
    http://www.corej2eepatterns.com/Patterns2ndEd/DataAccessObject.htm
    OR
    - use BOs in combination in DAOs (if using the database connection from a pool and BOs are having complicated processing logic).

  • Use an imported RFC's type as type in the custom data object

    Hello,
I've imported an RFC function in my process. There were created automatically some RFC types describing RFC's input\output parameters. Now I want to create my custom data object type and want to use previously created type in my data object, but I can use only standard types like string or anyType. There aren't any of generated types in the list.
Is it possible to use generated types as types in a custom data object?

    Hi,
Where did you import the RFC? In WebDynpro application? If so, you need to expose the types through the Interface Controller then only the types will be visible in BPM process.
    Thanks
