Using DW CS4 to insert text

Hi when I am using CS4 to insert text i want to put some spaces between a couple of words on the same line.
i.e.
please call this number etc etc
how do i do that?

How do I set the distance of the span??

Problem Inserting Flash Video (.flv) File in Page Using Dreamweaver CS4's Insert Media Command

I am using Dreamweaver CS4.
I am attempting to put a Flash Video (.flv) file on a standard HTML page in Dreamweaver.
When I either click the Insert Flash Video in the Common tab on the Dreamweaver toolbar, or if I choose Insert > Media > FLV to inert the video, I get the standard Dreamweaver FLV interface. I make my choices, click OK, and when the video is place on the page, I get the following dialog box:
"While executing inspectSelection in flvProgressive.htm, a JavaScript error occurred."
with an OK button.
If I preview the page, all that loads are the various buttons of the skin that I have chosen and no video.
Anyone have an idea what is going on?

Are you sure you aren't working with a template driven page?
When you insert media files into DW, it must write code in the <head> tags to reference Scripts necessary for Flash media to work on the web.
If you're working with a page that was created from a Template, the DWT page must have editable regions in the <head> tags, or you won't be able to add media to your web pages.

Lets say in the folowing example every write append needs to start on a new line followed by text. How do we do that?
Do we add another writeappend(cvar,22, chr(10)); inbetween?

Using servlets to read from text file and insert data

Hi,
Can I use a servlet to read from a space delimited text file on the client computer and use that data to insert into a table in my database? I want to make it easy for my users to upload their data without having to have them use SQL*Loader. If so can someone give me a hint as how to get started? I appreciate it.

Create a page for the user to upload the file to your webserver and send a message (containing the file location) to a server app that will open the file, parse it, and insert it into your database. Make sure you secure the page.
or
Have the user paste the file into a simple web form that submits to a servlet that parses the data and inserts it into your db.

How to insert text in the text-id using BDC

I m using the BAPI to upload the data for a transaction .
In that transaction there are some text id's are created to insert text like 'Container number'.
I want to insert the text in that text id . But it not a field. Text ids are having object no and table and number .
Is there any function like 'READ_TEXT' which we use to retrieve the text form text ids to write text in text ids ?
So that I can use that function to insert the text in the text ids.

READ_TEXT is used to Read the text , but SAVE_TEXT is used to save the text. but for reading or saving you need correct iD's and text objects.

I want to use Indesign CS5.5 SDK in my c++ project first to create Indesign Document then insert text in textframe.
How include SDK in my project ?
Is it right method to create indesign Application using SDK.

Want to Insert Text at Beginning of a Paragraph Using GREP

I'd like to find the beginning of a paragraph and insert a text (that uses a specific character style) into that paragraph. Below is how I've set up the find/change:
It almost works. The phrase "SECOND ITEM IS FREE!" is inserted at the beginning of the paragraph, which is what I want. But the first letter of the word that was originally at the beginning of the paragraph picks up the character style used on the inserted text. How do I insert the text without changing the character style of the existing text?

Incorrectly coloured text when saving to .PDF using Photoshop CS4

I am using Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7, and have designed my own business card.
When saving to .PDF to send to printers I am finding that a small section of text is saving with a white section to it, for example out of the 3 lines of text on the card the bottom left hand corner of the & sign I have in the design is coming out white, the rest of the text is a golden colour.
I have tried searching on this forum and on google but can't seem to find anyone with my actual problem so unsure where to go.
Any help much appreciated.

If you mean superimposing text on your photo, you can't do that in Lightroom. There is no "insert text" feature (other than watermark or slides). There is a plug-in called Mogrify that allows you to superimpose text on your photos during export.

Can't use all annotate actions in Preview-it's a PDF of a web screen shot. No highlight, underline, etc; can insert text, boxes, notes.

I can't use all the annotate actions in Preview. It's web screen shot saved as a PDF. No highlight, underline, or strikethough text but I can insert text, boxes, notes. On other forums this problem was solved by saving as a PDF which I have done. Any other solutions?

I don't think PDF is the way to do it, but if it was you'd need something like Adobe Acrobat Professional.

How do I display on-the-fly generated XML on a web page using DW CS4 Spry regions?

On a main web page I'm trying to display formatted data from an ASP page that generates XML on-the-fly from a query.
When I run the ASP page from the browser, the XML formatting of the data works. But when I run the main web page, the data doesn't display.

With this code on the main page, The region flashes the table column header names
and the code as written for the spry repeat; then instantly disappears from the screen.

Script to find a specific section in file & insert text below - how?

I am dealing with kind of a problem here - I am using pekwm as my window manager and I use menumaker to automatically update the menu on every startup. My problem is that the original pekwm, the first two sections called 'terminal' and 'Run' and the last two sections called 'Go To' and 'pekwm' are overwritten/modified by mmaker so that there's only the applications submenues and 'pekwm' with the 'Themes' section erased and I want to somehow preserve all that. I was thinking of creating a bash script that does the mmaker thing and then use 'sed' or 'echo' to insert the code back into the appropiate areas of ~/.pekwm/menu.
All I really need to know is how to find a particular string of code in the menu file and insert a block of text below that line using sed or echo.
Any ideas?

Looks interesting. But I'd like to keep it as simple as possible and avoid the part with the extra textfiles and just insert the code text straight into the menu file, kind of like this:
