Using FMLE in windows server
Hi all,
I am now using FMLE to stream live video to FMS. However I only have 1 windows server running FMLE and 2 windows server running FMS. In order to stream 2 video sources, the server runs 2 FMLE and streams to both Primary and backup server.
But I have faced a problem after streaming for a few days, it shows: Incorrect sample given by the device. Stopping encoding session. Which stop streaming to the servers. I have checked that the server become extremely slow. So there are few questions I want to ask:
1. Is it better to run FMLE in a normal PC rather than using a server(Xeon(R) CPU E5-2440, 16GB ram)?
2. Will it lower the performance when running 2 FMLE to stream videos?
Could anyone please give me some advice.
Thank you.
William
That's exactly what I need - to use the hardware graphics renderer instead of the Microsoft Basic Render Driver as the default adapter in all Remote Desktop Services sessions, but this GPO doesn't work and you even said it's impossible due
to RemoteFX vGPU cannot be used with a Remote
Desktop Session Host (RDSH) or RemoteApp deployment.
Those two articles exclude each other:

Printing problem with Konica Minolta BizHub282 using RDP on Windows Server 2008 R2
Hello,
I have an office setup as follows: Local office IP adress scheme 192.168.201.x. There is a Konica Minolta BizHub 282 printer connected to the 192.168.201.x network as well as around 10 workstations running Windows 7. There are also about
10 additional teleworkers WHO DO NOT NEED print access to the Minolta 282. All of their data is on a cloud server. I have them setup to first connect to the cloud server using a RRAS PPTP VPN and then to start an RDP session to the separate
RDP server. The Konica Minolta works ??okay?? with the easy print services and until now, we have just dealt with the lack of features and the occasional print job that goes crazy and prints out 400 blank pages (btw, this is usually on Excel) or a job
that cuts off the margins even when you have it set to "fit to page" (this usually happens in Adobe.) When I originally set this up, I tried loading the native Konica drivers on the server, but there was no joy because I couldn't get it to
work using the native drivers. The problem at hand is a feature called "account track." This feature authenticates your print job by using an account code. If there is no code, the job just disappears. When I load the native
Konica driver, the ability to turn on this feature is greyed out (see below):
When I use easy print, the codes seem to go through, but as I mentioned earlier, sometimes the print job just goes insane. After researching this, it seems to me that there are two ways to overcome this if we can't turn off the account track feature:
1) Overcome the driver problem. I've tried both of their current drivers without success: VXL and Visual Postscript. When I login to RDP, the (redirected) Konica 282 printer is listed, but when I try to print, it fails due to the missing account track code.
I'm hoping that there is a registry hack to turn this feature on by default with the code or a driver version that works with RDP. They have a WHQL driver available, but it didn't work any better. Is there a way to report this issue to the WHQL labs? Maybe
I can light a fire under Konica's rear end and motivate them to fix the driver.
2) I saw one discussion where the guy installed the printer out in the clouds as a local printer. He seemed to have a site-to-site VPN, not a client-to-site VPN, so this worked. Is there a way to do something similar when the customer connects to the
VPN through standard "connect to workplace" setup? I tried pinging the Konica 282 from the server while logged into the VPN, but the printer could not be found.
3) I considered setting it up as a google cloud print prnter, but that would require everyone to setup a google account and add a layer of complexity.
Anyone else run into this and have a solution? If not, does anyone have any ideas on a solution or workaround?
Thanks,
Jeffery SmithHi Jeffery,
Thank you for your comment.
Yeah, you can use universal print driver by configuring Remote Desktop Easy print on RDS Server. Install the driver on RDS server. Now to configure Easy print you need to have minimum client RDP 6.1(But suggest you to install RDP 8.1), .Net Framework 3.5 or
above and RDSH role.
Also under GPO setting need to check below settings.
Do not allow client print redirection: Disable
Use Terminal Service Easy print printer driver first: Enable
Computer Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Printer redirection
For more information, you can refer below articles.

Can't install Adobe Reader using Firefox on Windows Server 2008 R2
I am hoping someone can kindly help me out here.
Using Firefox I went to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ and clicked the download button and received the Getplus add-on to Firefox.
When Firefox restarts the getplus window opens but sits there and does nothing with the window remaining blank for ever..
Each time I try it is the same
I am logged into Windows Server 2008 R2 as Administrator but it might be a permissions problem as this is a new install of 2008 and seems pretty locked down.
Thank you in advanceAre these signs of Adobe failing?

Specific layout using Work Groups (Windows Server 2012 R2)
I'm running Windows Server 2012 R2 in my company and we're interested in using the new Work Groups feature for a specific layout.
We currently have a shared folder with our personal work folders inside, to which only each respective user has access to. Then we have a public folder for all the people in the company to share files freely.
So what do we want? We want to have a local folder that synchs with our server folder and to which only each of us has access. We also want each of the work folders to be encrypted. What's my problem? I haven't understood too much about the new
feature yet. So far the feature is installed but it seems to me it can only be applied to one network folder (workgroup) entirely at a time. I want to sync each folder INSIDE the workgroup with the same number of local folder, and password-protect both.
How can this be done?Hi,
Did you check this article?

Can Thunderbird and Lightning be successfully installed as a remote desktop (terminal server) application on Windows Server 8 r2? In this scenario, users would access Thunderbird and Lightning via Windows (or Linux or Mac) remote desktop connection. Each user has there own home folder and profile on remote desktop server. I want to make sure that an individual user will be able to maintain individual email accounts, folders, settings, etc. as if Thunderbird and Lightning were installed on a stand alone PC. Any tips or things to watch out for in this scenario would be helpful.
There appears to be a problem with Firefox 20 with UNC paths when using roaming profiles on a server.
This is currently investigated and tracked via this bug report.

How to use itunes for windows server 2003
how to install itunes for windows server 2003
Purchased music from the iTUnes store is in a "AAC protected" format. It can only be used in iTUnes. Any music you buy online these days will have some protection on it where you can only use it in there program.
The way around this is to burn the purchased songs to a CD in iTUnes. Then goto edit>preferences>advanced tab>Import sub tab and set your import settings to something like MP3.
Now put the burned CD back in the PC and "Re"import it into iTunes so its imported in a MP3 format so you can use it in any program. Before importing it tho you need to manually add the name of the song, artist album ect ect -
Using MPIO when Windows Server is your SAN
I have been studying and testing the Windows File Services and Storage options trying to understand how best to configure storage for my network. I am using iSCSI from File01 to connect to a virtual disk on Storage01. I have read that
NIC Teaming is not recommended between a file server and the iSCSI. My primary objective is to increase throughput between Storage01 and File01. Since I do not have another switch to provide an additional layer of redundancy, I don't see much value
in the fault-tolerance scenario.
I have configured my network as seen in the image below. Each server (Storage01 and File01) has dual NICs attached to the storage VLAN on my switch with different IP addresses. The storage VLAN is not routed. All connections are 1Gig Ethernet.
My problem is that I cannot seem to get MPIO to recognize that there are two paths. Additionally, I cannot get Storage01 to allow me to define two separate iSCSI targets. I would like to define one target as T1-S1 and a second as T2-S2.
No matter what I try, I can only get one iSCSI target to be assigned to the VHD on Storage01. I believe this is good, as having an second iSCSI target pointing to the same VHD would probably lead to corruption.
So, I try to go to the iSCSI initiator side on File01. When I go to the Targets tab and add the Storage01 first IP, I can connect to the drive but I am unable to connect to the MPIO settings. Also, when I review the properties of the iSCSI disk
in Disk Management, I do not see the MPIO tab.
If MPIO does not work with this configuration, how can I get more than a single NIC worth of throughput for my iSCSI disk? I have tried NIC teaming and the throughput approachs speeds of a single connection--but nothing near what I would expect from
two bonded NICs.
Can I get some help understanding what I am missing or doing wrong?
Thanks!
Alex.Hi Alex,
Thanks for contacting Microsoft. From your description, I learnt that the issue you are experiencing is that you failed to connect to the MPIO settings on Server File01. Please let me know if I misunderstand your purpose.
Firstly, I would like to explain that using Microsoft MultiPath IO (MPIO) to manage multiple paths to iSCSI storage. Microsoft does not support teaming on network adapters that are used to connect to iSCSI-based storage devices. This is because the teaming
software that is used in these types of configurations is not owned by Microsoft, and it is considered to be a non-Microsoft product. If you have an issue with network adapter teaming, contact your network adapter vendor for support. If you have contacted
Microsoft Support, and they determine that teaming is the source of your problem, you might be required to remove the teaming from the configuration and/or contact the provider of the teaming software.
The following best practices are recommended for networking when you use Microsoft iSCSI Initiator:
Use nonblocking switches, and set Configure Network Port Speed to a specific value rather than allowing speed negotiation.
Disable the unicast storm control. Most switches have unicast storm control disabled by default. If your switch has unicast storm control enabled, you should disable it on the ports that are connected to Microsoft iSCSI Initiator hosts and targets to avoid
packet loss.
Use MPIO to manage multiple network connections to the storage in Microsoft iSCSI Initiator. This provides additional redundancy and fault tolerance on Windows Server operating systems.
Note
Microsoft does not support the use of both MPIO and MCS connections to the same device. Use either MPIO or MCS to manage paths to storage and load balance policies.
Enable flow control on network switches and adapters. Flow control ensures that a receiver can pace the sender’s speed, and it is important in avoiding data loss.
Turn off the spanning tree algorithm for detecting loops. Loop detection introduces a delay in creating a port that can become usable for data transfer, and it can lead to application timeouts.
Segregate SAN and LAN traffic. SAN interfaces in Microsoft iSCSI Initiator should be separated from other corporate network traffic (LAN). Servers should use dedicated network adapters for SAN traffic. Deploying traffic for Microsoft iSCSI Initiator on
a separate network or networks helps minimize network congestion and latency. Additionally, traffic for Microsoft iSCSI Initiator is more secure when SAN and LAN traffic can be separated by using port-based virtual local area networks (VLANs) or physically
separate networks.
Configure additional paths for high availability. Use MPIO or multiple connections per session (MCS) with additional network adapters in the server. This creates additional connections to the storage array in Microsoft iSCSI Initiator through redundant
Ethernet switch fabrics.
Unbind File and Print Sharing from the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator network adapters that connect only to the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator SAN.
Use an Ethernet connection that is a gigabit or faster for high-speed access to storage. Congested or lower-speed networks can cause latency issues that disrupt access between Microsoft iSCSI Initiator and applications for devices that are connected through
Microsoft iSCSI Initiator. In many cases, a properly designed IP SAN can deliver better performance than internal hard disk drives. Microsoft iSCSI Initiator is suitable for WAN and lower-speed implementations, including replication where latency and bandwidth
are not a concern.
Use server-class network adapters. We recommend that you use network adapters that are designed for enterprise networking and storage applications.
Use CAT-6-rated cables for gigabit network infrastructures. For 10-gigabit implementations, CAT-6a or CAT-7 cable is usually required for use with distances over 55 meters.
Use Jumbo Frames if your network infrastructure supports them. Jumbo Frames can be used to allow more data to be transferred with each Ethernet transaction and reduce the number of frames. This larger frame size reduces the overhead on your servers and
iSCSI targets. For end-to-end support, each device in the network needs to support Jumbo Frames, including the network adapter and Ethernet switches.
In a server environment where uptime and redundancy are required, we recommend that you configure multiple network cards to allow redundancy in server environments. This section discusses network connections that typically have differing management requirements:
iSCSI network connection The iSCSI data network is typically connected to a different network segment than the network that is used for client access. To provide redundancy for this connection, we recommend two or more ports
on two network adapters. These connections should be managed by MPIO to provide redundancy of the connections, and depending on the configuration, increased throughput.
Client access network The client access network is a network port that uses a network segment that is dedicated for client access to the server. For example, clients use this network to connect to a file server, Exchange
Server, or SQL Server. For network adapter port redundancy, network adapter teaming can be employed to provide redundancy across two or more network ports, and in some configurations, increased throughput.
Management network A management network is typically an isolated network segment that is used for server management. In some configurations, this can also be used for backup jobs to avoid impacting the data or client access
networks.
In addition to the three network types that are described in the previous paragraphs, in the case of a Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) configuration, an additional network is needed for cluster heartbeat traffic. This network is dedicated for cluster
heartbeat traffic, and it is not used for any of the other types of traffic defined previously.
An example configuration is shown in the following table:
Server Configuration
Recommendation
Stand-alone server (non-clustered)
Six network ports across a minimum of two cards.
Configure two ports for client access (by using network teaming) and two ports for iSCSI connectivity to storage (by using MPIO for redundancy).
Configure one network interface for system management and one for system backups.
Windows Server Failover Cluster
Six network ports across a minimum of three network adapters.
Configure the same as above, plus add at least one port that is dedicated for cluster heartbeat traffic.
Where possible, network adapter ports should be connected to different network switches to allow for redundancy if there are issues with a network switch, as shown in the following figure:
Figure 3 Network switch redundancy
The previous figure depicts a network hardware configuration with a basic level of redundancy. In scenarios where greater levels of fault tolerance are required, additional connections can be configured, as shown in the following figure. The green and blue
lines represent additional levels of network fault tolerance.
Figure 4 Hardware configuration with additional connections
If anything is unclear, please feel free to let me know.
Best regards,
SOphia

Hi Everyone,
the following driver cab is from Windows Update:
https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=5be01620eea95d8c&id=5BE01620EEA95D8C!138&ithint=file,.cab&authkey=!APDi54-R1Ob5IWQ
It includes this display driver:
Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)
My problem is: I can't install this driver on Windows Server 2012 R2.
I tried the following, nothing worked:
a) pnputil -i -a intel.cab
b) Extract cab, update the device's driver in device manager, select "search for driver software in this location"
c) copy the files in system32/, system32/drivers, syswow64/ from a Windows 8.1 system to a Windows Server 2012 R2 system
Isn't it true that any Windows 8.1 driver should also work for Windows Server 2012 R2 (same os version)?
Thanks for your replies.

Unable to Deploy Software using GPO in Windows Server 2012
Dear Microsoft Team,
When I tried to deploy a software using GPO its giving an error -Add operation failed. Unable to extract deployment information from the package. Run validation on the package to ensure that the package is correctHi Subin,
I agree with Prabhu that the software package you deploy via group policy needs to in the format of .msi. The company or developer who produces the application provides the Windows Installer package .msi file and includes it with the application.
If a Windows Installer package does not come with an application, you might need to create a Windows Installer package by using a third-party tool.

Looks like the AAA configuration is set for local
aaa authentication enable console LOCAL
aaa authentication http console LOCAL
aaa authentication serial console LOCAL
aaa authentication ssh console LOCAL
aaa authentication telnet console LOCAL
Change it to Radius
aaa-server Keefa-Raduis protocol radius
aaa-server Keefa-Raduis (NAZCO) host 172.16.200.10
key *****
radius-common-pw *****
for example :
aaa authentication telnet console Keefa-Raduis LOCAL
Now when you will do telnet to using Radius credentials, Its Should work, If radius goes down you can use LOCAL username and password as fallback method.
Cheers!

thanks for any reply.
RosoneIt is not a bug, you might be using IE in Windows server 2012 and and browser might be restricting your site actions to respond properly.
Check this in a different browser or access site in a differ OS.

Windows Server 2008 SP2 X86 Product Key Issue
I am trying to create a VM using a Template, but facing an issue with respect to Product Key. The VHD I am using is of
Windows Server 2008 SP2 X86. If I do not provide Product Key in the Template/Guest OS Profile, the Virtual Machine creation fails even before starting. Seeing this behavior, I added a dummy key to the Guest OS Profile/Template which allowed
me to deploy the machine, but the VM gets stuck at Customization before failing. When I take the remote console of the VM, the Error I see at the Remote Console is:
Windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file for pass. The settings specified in the answer files cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for component [microsoft-windows-shell-setup]"
So, I am confused now what to do.
Is dummy key supported?
Do I need to provide the actual key in the Template/Guest OS Profile? You should be able to evaluate this software for 180 days.
