Using graphics to highlight
Hi all, be very grateful for a dig out on this one:
I am designing a calendar where different types of days are represented in different ways.
For example, when a 'non-business day' is displayed on the calendar, it is shown surrounded by a red margin.
This is achieved using the following code:
g.setColor(Color.RED);
g.draw3DRect(r.x, r.y, r.width, r.height, true);
I also want to highlight weekend days in blue on the calendar. I thought i could use some sort of a highlight to do this and i tried the following code:
g.setColor(Color.BLUE);
g.fill3DRect(r.x, r.y, r.width, r.height, true);
Now my problem, the above code is effective in that it fills the rectangle blue, however, i dont want to fill the text of the rectangle (e.g. 28,30,31) with blue, i want these to reman visible.
Does anyone know how best to do this, or have had a similar problem in the past?
Thanks a mil
Gav
You will need to draw the text on top of the rectangle.

Does mac have an app that graphically finds & highlights file icons (especially on the desktop)?
This used to be available as a 3rd party app on older systems but I haven't seen it currently.
Sherlock just finds locations as a listing.The easiest way is to use iPhoto, just drag the picture in to it. To resize it select the picture and in the menu bar "FILE - EXPORT". You can preform basic editing and corrections by double clicking on the picture.

the 3d features require 'use graphics processor' is enabled in the performance preferences. Your video card must meet the minimum requirements and you may need to check that your driver is working correctly

Can i use graphical mapping to do such conversion or do i need java mapping
Hi Folks,
Need all your help and experience in solving this .
Can you let me know is it possible do to such kind of conversion in XI using file adapter or do I need to do java mapping
Say from rom database I get data in this format
Seq Field Name Field Value
1 Cust No Cust 1
1 S SS1
1 Score1 10
1 Score 2 12
2 Cust No Cust 2
2 S SS2
2 Score1 5
2 Score 2 10
Based on this my o/p has to be
Cust 1 SS1 10 12
Cust 2 SS2 5 10
( ie values in the last column )
The number of rows returned from database can vary . like here for 1 seq it gives 4 in the example bt it can be any number
Like
Seq Field Name Field Value
1 Cust No Cust 1
1 S SS1
1 Score1 10
1 Score 2 12
1 Score3 15
2 Cust No Cust 2
2 S SS2
2 Score1 5
2 Score 2 10
2 Score3 25
Based on this my o/p has to be
Cust 1 SS1 10 12 15
Cust 2 SS2 5 10 25
is there any way that we can use graphical mapping plus file content conversion to do this or is java based mapping the only solution
Thanks
amitHi Amit,
You can do this using Graphical mapping and File Content Conversion.You concatenate the necessary fields in a Context and assign it to the the field Data(or field name of your wish )) in the target which will of the structure
<Records>
<Record>
<Data>concatenated value</Data>
</Record>
</Records>
and in File Content Conversion
make Records,Record 0:1 and Data as 0:unbounded
and give Recordset Structure as Record
then Record.fieldSeparator as 'nl'
This will give you desired output

Avoid explicit closing tag in XML using graphical mapping
Hi,
I created a data type with an element called TAG1 which has an attribute called attr.
I mapped an empty constant to the element and the value XXX to the attribute. I`m using graphical mapping and the XML I get is the following:
<TAG1 attr = u201CXXXu201D></TAG1>
But for reasons of volume I need to generate the XML without the explicit closing tag, such as:
<TAG1 value = u201CXXXu201D/>
Is there any possibility to achieve this with graphical mapping?
Thanks & Best Regards,
Viviana> But for reasons of volume I need to generate the XML without the explicit closing tag, such as:
>
> <TAG1 value = u201CXXXu201D/>

This is not posible. The graphical mapping always creates start and end tag, even for empty elements.
You need a seperate mapping step with XSLT or Java mapping.

Graphics using graphic API are drawn below the loaded content created using Flash authoring tool
Here is my problem.
I am developing a Analog Dial component. Here , I am
extending UIComponent and loading a swf file generated using Flash
CS3 authoring tool ( the swf basically has the circle and needle)
and adding the loaded content as child of Dial class.
Next I use Graphics API to draw the major and minor ticks on
the dial.
As mentioned in the curveTo method of flash.display.Graphics
class documentation (
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/langref/index.html),
if you are using graphics api and also loading content created
using the flash authoring environment the vector graphics will be
drawn underneath the loaded content.
Well , Is there any way to make the graphics appear on top of
the loaded contents?It appears that this may be accomplished more easily if I do something similar to the StrobeMediaPlayback implementation. Looking at the StrobeMediaPlayback source code it looks like Adobe has done something a little different than their ControlBarPlugin, placing the controlbar and root media element inside separate MediaContainers and then adding those containers to the display list. Is this recommended over using the frameworks ParallelElements? If so, is communication between the control bar and root media element still a matter of just updating the target reference via metadata?

Using Graphic Equaliser For Radio to Reduce Hiss?
Using Graphic Equaliser For Radio to Reduce Hiss?
I would like to use the graphic equaliser to reduce hiss while using the radio. Does anyone know if this is possible and how to do it?
Kind Regards
ChrisYou can adjust adjust the individual low pass filters to minimise the effect of hiss, and although this will mitigate the problem somewhat and make it less intrusive, it won't stop it altogether.

Use Graphics on Local Machine in Safari
I'm pretty new in using Mac / Safari, so i searched the discussions here but couldn't find what i was looking for.
I'm trying to use graphic files that are stored on my local machine/ local hard drive to be displayed on an online game website. Purpose: to reduce traffic, to speed up the data transfer and to use custom made graphics.
Is there a chance that Safari supports my "desire"? What would the path look like? Using windows i simply put the drive letter and the path in to direct IE towards the locally stored graphics.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.Yes, that's correct. I want to display a website, some web content but replace some of the graphics i would have to load from the server every time with files i have on my hard drive.
the website (online browser game) supports this feature but i don't know how to tell safari (or maybe firefox) on my mac where to look for the files.
as described above usually i would type something like d:/documents/graphics/ and the browser would know that it is supposed to load the files from the disk, not from the server.
i guess what i also have to verify is that the game supports the safari browser.
thanks for your help! -
Can't use Graphics Processor for Photoshop CS6 on Windows 8
Hi,
I just got a fresh upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro (not beta) but then I can't use Photoshop that well. In the Preferences > Performance, I can't tick "Use Graphics Processor". I have an ATI graphics card and yep, I've already tried upgrading/reinstalling my graphics driver, even installing old ones -- and still, this doesn't solve my problem (even in its control panel, I can't seem to see the settings of the graphics card!)
Any ideas/suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!What display driver have you installed? And what is your card?
The ATI Catalyst 12.8 driver release claims to be compatible with Windows 8, though I haven't tried the combination myself yet.
Did you install Windows 8 as an upgrade or a clean install? The latter is always preferable.
I know a secret registry incantation that will force Photoshop to use the OpenGL subsystem no matter what, and I've used that to get GPU acceleration in a test installation in a virtual machine, but rather that put that forth just yet let's find out if you've done all you can the "above board" way first.

How can I access the Edit preferences performance use Graphics Processor option through the jsx scri
I want to runa a script with and without GPU options. I made an actionto click on the Edit>Preferences>Performace>use graphics processor checkbox. But now I want to check wether the checkbox is ticked or not to determine i should use it for a with GPU run or without GPU run. I cant seem to find the prefernce/property/object name to access this selection in the photoshop scripting library. Can someone help me here?
I did not see anything in the Object Viewer for preference open GL, performance or GPU so I do not think there is a DOM method available to retrieve or set it. You can set it using the action manager using scriptlistener code.

Windows 7 can use Graphic Equalizer? (Audigy Value)

and i want to use graphic equalizer, please help me?
Message Edited by materialise on 03-28-2009 05:03 [email protected]Maybe you have installed all this stuff in wrong installations order. I have installed Win7 32 bit on friends Satellite A500 following this installations order:
-Win7
-chipset driver
-storage manager
-display driver
-sound driver
-modem driver
-supervisor utility
-infrared
-patches
-configfree
-VAP
-toshiba hardware setup
-HDMI control
-WLAN driver
Added Vista stuff:
-Toshiba assist - work properly
-Card reader - installed properly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works properly.
-Synaptics driver
Everything works perfectly including hardware setup. I don't know maybe you should install Win7 again following this installations order.
By the way: hardware setup was shown in control panel in WXP but since Vista not anymore. So I asked you this question because I know for sure it is not in control panel anymore.
Since Vista Toshiba packed all tools and utilities overview in Toshiba Assist. -
I get the following message when I open Photoshop: Photoshop detected graphics hardware that is not officially supported...which asks me to "uncheck the use Graphics Processor...but there is no Graphics Processor to check ?????? What do I need to do? I have ignored this in the past and Photoshop seems to work OK but still I wonder why this opens every time I start Photoshop. Thanks for considering my question.:>)
As you can see use Graphics Processor is NOT checked. Now what? And a special thanks for answering me about this. :>)

Can you use Graphics Processor? What is your GPU?
Please answer if you can use graphics processor on Lightroom CC and which is your computer config, if possible.
I have a Radeon HD 6870 running with windows 7 64bits and I can't use graphics processor.
Thank you.My Lightroom 6 installation initially wasn't using the GPU:
Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit
DirectX version: 11.0
GPU processor: GeForce GTX 745
Driver version: 335.58
LR6:
Graphics Processor Info:
Check OpenGL support: Failed
Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Version: 3.3.0
Renderer: GeForce GTX 745/PCIe/SSE2
LanguageVersion: 3.30 NVIDIA via Cg compiler
I then updated the NVIDIA driver:
Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit
DirectX version: 11.0
GPU processor: GeForce GTX 745
Driver version: 350.12
After the update, LR6 reported success in finding the GPU:
Graphics Processor Info:
GeForce GTX 745/PCIe/SSE2
Check OpenGL support: Passed
Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Version: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 350.12
Renderer: GeForce GTX 745/PCIe/SSE2
LanguageVersion: 3.30 NVIDIA via Cg compiler

How can I Edit preferences performance use Graphics Processor option through the jsx script
Hi I need to check and access the Edit>preferences>performance>use Graphics Processor option setting through the script. i cant find it in the object domain, I have the following to check the current state:
var ref = new ActionReference();
ref.putEnumerated( charIDToTypeID('capp'), charIDToTypeID('Ordn'), charIDToTypeID('Trgt') );
var openglEnabled = executeActionGet(ref).getObjectValue (charIDToTypeID('CchP')).getBoolean (stringIDToTypeID('openglEnabled'));
alert( openglEnabled );
but then i am unable to set the value using this:
var openglEnabled = executeActionGet(ref).getObjectValue (charIDToTypeID('CchP')).putBoolean (stringIDToTypeID('openglEnabled'));
I tried using a recorded action but that doesnt work. Any recommendations?If you load the scriptlisener plug-in when you set your preference to enable your GPU it will record the code you need. The Code I posted to your thread in the scripting forum the other day.
// =======================================================
var idsetd = charIDToTypeID( "setd" );
var desc29 = new ActionDescriptor();
var idnull = charIDToTypeID( "null" );
var ref19 = new ActionReference();
var idPrpr = charIDToTypeID( "Prpr" );
var idCchP = charIDToTypeID( "CchP" );
ref19.putProperty( idPrpr, idCchP );
var idcapp = charIDToTypeID( "capp" );
var idOrdn = charIDToTypeID( "Ordn" );
var idTrgt = charIDToTypeID( "Trgt" );
ref19.putEnumerated( idcapp, idOrdn, idTrgt );
desc29.putReference( idnull, ref19 );
var idT = charIDToTypeID( "T " );
var desc30 = new ActionDescriptor();
var idMmrU = charIDToTypeID( "MmrU" );
var idPrc = charIDToTypeID( "#Prc" );
