Using IMAC mail am unable to send messages. I can log directly into internet provider webmail and send no problem.
Am able to send and receiev emails user Internet provider webmail, but am unable to send messages using IMAC Mail.
have you verfies that all the mail settings are just like the mail providers guide ?

I'm yet another person who upgraded to Maverick OSX. I'm now thinking, "BIG mistake". Mail was working perfectly. Then, last night, Mail stopped sending.
I've checked everything. Comcast servers are set up correctly. Mail works fine on my ipad, but will not send. It gives me a SMPT error of "Cannot send message using the server comcast.net--authentication rejected" Comcast.net (Offline). I can not get it back online. I've also tried the fixes here, but there is no info.plist by those names in my library!
Anyone have any other ideas how to get this working again? Apple's OS's have been pretty decently stable in the past. I had no thought that the upgrade would be so problematic. Live and Learn.

Can receive mail, but unable to send mail
am able to receive mail, but unable to send any whether through Mail or Entourage.
didn't have this problem yesterday. Strangely enough, i am still able to send mail through my yahoo.com account. so there's nothing wrong with my connection.
is there any fix to the problem encountered in my Mail.app?Did you accidently change the port through which you send mail?
What smtp server do you use to send mail out? and please check the port number of that outgoing mail. It should be 25 for your own internet provider.

When I try to open my Yahoo mail in safari, I get a message which states:" In order to use Yahoo mail, please turn Private Browsing off. Please go to Settings>Safari>Private Browsing, and turn off" The problem is, my ipad does not a Private Browsing switchat this location.
With iOS 7 on the iPad, you turn Private Browsing on and off by tapping the URL field. The screen that opens up has your bookmarks on it. In the bottom left corner is a hot button marked 'PRIVATE'. Tap on the word 'PRIVATE' to turn private browsing on or off. Yeah, there aren't any instructions anywhere that I can find to do this, and if you follow Yahoo's instructions, they don't work. This doesn't happen with the previous Apple OS, and you can restore your iPad to the older OS.

I have an ipad2 and was using yahoo mail. I pressed send and it didn't work however it created a draft. I then opened the draft and now I can not cancel or send it or close the window. It just remains in the mail screen. Any suggestions?
I tried that but it is still stuck in Draft. Cancel button does not work but Send button does.

I am running Lion (OS X 10.7.4) and trying to reinstall iLife06, a .mpkg file, using Installer.app. I get a message "You can't open the application iLife06.mpkg because PowerPC apps are no longer supported." Is there a work around?? Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.
The only workaround would be to purchase the current version of iLife apps from the App Store.
Lion doesn't support the old PowerPC architecture anymore, which is what iLife '06 was written for.
If the internal apps are universal, right-click on the mpkg and choose Show Contents. Then, dig through and run the specific installer package for each application. -

I have songs both purchased online and downloaded from cd's that itunes is unable to locate. What can I do to get them back and make sure it doesn't happen again as this is the second time this has happened?

The funny thing is, I recall distinctly setting up the DHCP reservation initially, but when I went to check it now, the reserved client list was empty. I have no idea how it could have become depopulated, thus opening the door for internal IP address reassignment of the Remote Desktop computer which led to the RDP ports no longer being forwarded to the right internal IP address and thus the failure of the Remote Desktop connectivity. -
My mum is always using my iPad and I want to set mode if you like that she can log in as some one different and use apps she likes and I can use a diFferent log in and use different apps and stuff
iOS 7 does not support multiple user accounts like you want.
If all the apps are different, you could set her up with her own page of apps, then just show her how to get to her apps page, or just buy her an iPad for herself. -
i tried to open my adobe illustrator and this window popped up saying my trial had ended. i was not using a trial version, i have been paying monthly. so i went into my account online and my account still reads that my plan is active and will be until March 11, 2015. can you please tell me what the issue is and what i need to do to fix the problem.

If I setup MS Outlook for Mac 2011 with this iCloud account, I am able to send and receive like a champ.
Once it starts working, is there a way to change the outgoing mail server to use SSL, i.e., turn SSL to "ON" ?Yes, I did. It doesn't show up in the logs because, I'm unable to send a message - it goes to the outbox immediately. And this led me to the conclusion below.
And by the way, I did get in touch with Apple Support who went through a number of troubleshooting scripts (including trying to use GMail's mail servers) and ultimately had me reinstall OS X from scratch. None of this worked.
Now this problem of being unable to send mail via my iCloud account, from the Apple Mail client, started only around the end of Feb. What I finally figured was that iCloud mail was using random ports on my machine to invoke its SMTP port. Everytime I would disable the firewall on my router completely, iCloud mail was able to send just fine. Recall that incoming was (and still is) working fine. Anyway, I installed wireshark to ID the ports that were being used when the firewall was down. I set up triggers on my router to open these up, turned on the firewall, but it just isn't working. I will have to play around with wireshark and see if I can figure out what ports need to be opened. Unless you or someone else knows. If I figure it out, I will post it here. Mind you, that I need to figure out not only the source ports that need to access port 587 but also what the real target port is (because I don't think it is just 587 as Apple claims).
By the by, when I asked the Apple Technician (some guy who I was transferred to after 3 other people - the one who asked me to reinstall Yosemite) if there was a way to change the outgoing mail server to use SSL, i.e., turn SSL to "ON", he said no there wasn't and why would one need to secure the traffic to Apple's SMTP server anyway? Seriously? -
E5 mail box unable to send or recieve
i hav gmail and yahoomail, both imap, in my eg. Suddently both stopped working togther. In the past also i faced same issue. I just deleted and reconfigured mail boxes that time and fixed the issue. The issue im facing now is wen i try to remove mailbox it says *unable to remove mailbox this time. Try again later*

mail boxes are getting connected- i hav access to old emails which was transfered in the past.but not transfering new data,unable to send or recieve. Anyone knows why can't accept the password in Nokia Messaging when installing? I already went into wwww.email.nokia.com and tried to change the password, but I can't. I login with the password on the site that when installing it does not recognize... any idea what can I do to recover the Messaging features?
