Using Infoprovider as data provider in BExGetdata

Hi Folks,
I am trying to use, Infoprovider (a multi-provider) as data provider in one of query which uses BExGetData function module to retrieve data from BI. However I am getting #NV everywhere in data.. (#NV means query is not able to recognize data provider).
If I change dataprovider to query, data looks fine. Any idea what is issue with Info-provider?
Thanks,
-RS

One more question with BExGetData...
when I create query and have 2 key figure... change to set to formula mode. It looks ok, but if I want to include more key figure it is again giving #NV (data provider still remains - query).

    1.open webi rich client.
    2.Create a new webi report,then select "local data source"
    3.select an excel file as data source.
    4.run query.
    For example,there are 5rows in excel,but in webi report there are 6 rows,and the last row is bank which is added by webi.

    1. mcro has been defined in the excel file,is there any impact by using macro?
    2.I want to know why this happens,

    I have only one data provider in the report.
    And, I have do the following test,
    test1:Delete the last row which is blank row of the excel file,refresh webi report, the last blank row is still there.
    test2: press ALT+F8,delete marco in the excel file,refresh webi report, the last blank row is still there,then delete the last blank row in the excel file ,save excel file,refresh webi,the last blank row is disappear.

  • Using HTTPService as data provider for mx:ComboBox

    Hello all,
    I'm trying to use an HTTPService as a data provider for an
    mx:ComboBox. Here's how I have my HTTPService configured:
    <mx:HTTPService id="listStates" url="
    http://localhost:3006/state/list"
    useProxy="false" method="GET" />
    I have a Rails backend setup and talking to a database on my
    local machine. I have a list of states in a table in my database,
    and the table has two columns: id and name. When I go to
    localhost:3006/state/list in my browser, I get the following XML:
    <states>
    <state>
    <id type="integer">1</id>
    <name>New Mexico</name>
    </state>
    <state>
    <id type="integer">2</id>
    <name>Arizona</name>
    </state>
    </states>
    I have my mx:ComboBox set up like so:
    <mx:ComboBox width="199" id="state" dataProvider="{
    listStates.lastResult.states.state }" />
    However, when I browse to my .swf file, my state combo box
    shows [object Object] twice in the drop-down list. Anyone have any

    Dears,
    am thinking to buy a new iPad 2 Wifi+3G but i want to make sure that it works with different cellular data provider like STC or Mobily in Saudi Arabia.
    am i able to change the AT&T SIM Card with the one i have here in my country?

    AT&T 3G iPad purchased from Apple in the are not carrier locked. If your carrier will sell you a data SIM (really a uSIM) and a plan, they it will work with that carrier.

  • Use condition for assigning query to data provider with Javascript

    Hi gurus,
    I want to assign a query dynamically to a data provider when the user activated a Tab Panel in a Web Template (BI7).
    I can do that easily with the standard function SET_DATA_PROVIDER_PARAMETERS but this action is do each time of the activation of the Tab Panel.
    So I try to make a javascript for assign the query to the data provider only one time.
    My problem is I havenu2019t found a solution to get the default query assigning to the data provider.
    Itu2019s an example of what I try to do with javascipt :
    function Load_Query()
    var r=GET_DATA_PROVIDER PARAMETER ("QUERYVIEW_DATA_PROVIDER")
    if (r <>empty)
        executeJS_SET_DATA_PROVIDER_PARAMETERS_R()

    Hi Janice,
    You can check the Option Display Variable values only once.
    Thie you will the variables being displayed only once eventhough they are used in Multiple Data provider.
    If you want som variable to be data provider specific, then , you can create a new variable and add it int eh query.
    For example in your case let us say COMP1 is the variable for company code used in DP1 and DP2.
    If you want a different values to be selected for company code in DP1 and DP2 just replce the variable in DP2 with a new variabel COMP2.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to register/configure a Data Provider with Crystal Report Designer

    Hi,
    Iu2019m in the process of developing an ADO .Net XML Data Provider which works with Data Sets. I want to use this custom Data Provider through Crystal Report Designer 2008 so that I can access it from the u201CStandard Report Creation Wizard\Available Data Sourcesu201D section. How can I do this? I read the following in the u201Ccreating custom adddins.docu201D documentation.
    u201CCrystal Reports (CR) 2008 installs a new managed dll called DotNetExternalCommandAdapter.DLL and installs it into the Global Assembly Cache (GAC).  CR 2008 uses this dll to search and load files with a csc prefix in CR 2008u2019s AddIns subdirectory in a similar way it looks for database drivers, export drivers and UFLs. To create an Add-In the developer needs to reference this dll and inherit two classes from it, ICommand and ICommandDLL.u201D
    I have the following questions,
    1) As it mentions above how can I make Crystal find my custom Data Provider when it searches for the database drivers?
    2) Is there another class I can inherit from when creating my custom data provider? If so where can I find some documentation regarding this?
    3) Can I register my custom data provider in to the GAC and will Crystal find it if so how can I register my custom Data Provider? Will GACUtil work for Crystal as well?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Chanaka

    Baron, thank you for providing that link.
    Chanaka see if that article helps you out. It should - had I got to this thread earlier, I'd have sent that link also. Certainly DE place to start.

  • Report designer - Check Data Provider button missing

    Hi,
    We are in Bi 7.0 Sp 17. I found out that reports designer with hierarchies don't offer the 'check data provider' button- In field catalog, over the query, right button. If report has a fixed structure button appears...
    I need it to refresh the dataprovider with new filter values set in the query
    Have you noticed this? Do you think it's a bug in report designer or can it be my sapgui version?
    Regards,
    Ruben

    Hi Ruben,
    I think I am correct in the following, it is my understanding that the Check Data Provider button only works on fixed (Static) structures not dynamic characteristics.  Therefore if you add in additional characteristics (dynamic) after you have inserted the dataprovider into the report designer then you will not be able to use the Check Data Provider button.
    Please see the following link for explanation.

    If you find additional help on this please share, as RD has caused lots of "challenges" and is still in development as far as I am concerned.  Be glad when its superceded.

  • ORA-02074 Error and MS Data Provider

    I have no idea where to post this kind of stuff, but let's give this a try and if it should be posted elsewhere, just let me know and I will move it!
    My C++ developers use the MS Data Provider to access our 9i database. They call stored procedures to do the usual kind of application tasks. Nothing special. Many of the procs take parameters and insert/update/ or delete rows in tables and either ROLLBACK or COMMIT. No transactions are left pending at the end of any proc.
    Well, some procedures yield a "ORA-02074: cannot ROLLBACK in a distributed transaction" error message when two conditions are met:
    (1) The procedure has a non-conditional "ROLLBACK" AND
    (2) The procedure has been WRAPped and is obfuscated.
    This is quite odd. It seems that that Oracle code behaves differently when WRAPped! Creating the same proc not WRAPped functions correctly! The WRAPped procs run fine in SqlPlus, but when called from the data provider the procs croke!
    Any ideas? I mean, rational ones?
    Regards
    Michael

    The table does have a primary key (Cust_id), and like I said, I can update the data.
    Thanks for the thought.... Any other ideas? Anyone have a datagrid sample that they want to share? (as long as it updates and you can add records to it).
    Thanks - Jim

  • ArrayList -- MenuBar Data Provider

    Hello everyone,
    I have a remote service that provides an array list
    containing a menu structure.
    But since its just a List i would still have to rework the
    structure for the menubar container to get the child-structure
    right.
    Can anyone tell me how i would access the ArrayList and
    rework it in ActionScript?
    Or maybe there is a way to make the Service send something
    other than an ArrayList so i have the DataProvider in the right
    format? Which format would i have to use? is it possible to just
    that an xml string and use that as data provider?
    Well thx a lot in advance for any hints you guys have for me.

    First, you do not have an "ArrayList". There is no such data
    type in Flex.
    What is the data service? What RPC protocol are you using in
    Flex to access it? What is your resultFormat?
    If you can stick with XML all the way through it will be
    simpler.

  • ArrayCollection as Data Provider in Tree

    Hi,
         Does anybody know how to use ArrayCollection as a data provider in tree control as i have to access the data later from the database. I'm able to use XMLList as the data provider in the tree control but unable to use ArrayCollection as data provider.
    Please help me in this.
    Thanxs
    Gaurav

    Actually I was just thinking about something I am currently doing.  I am not sure if a tree control will accept a HierarchicalData object as its dataprovider but what you can do is create an array of associative arrays where one of the keys is called children.  This key called children would then point to another associative array.  It could nest down as far as you want but would look absolutely terrible.  I still think XMLList is the way to go but if you really dont want to do that you can try and work this.  Here is some sample of what a simple HierarchicalData object looks like:
    private var masterData:Array = [
                 { OrderId: 10248, CustomerId:"WILMK", EmployeeId:5, OrderDate:"1-Feb-2007",
                children:[
                            {ProductId:11, ProductName:"Quesbo Cabrales", UnitPrice:14, Quantity:12, Discount:0, Price:168},
                            {ProductId:42, ProductName:"Singaporean Hokkien Fried Mee", UnitPrice:9.8, Quantity:10, Discount:0, Price:98},
                            {ProductId:42, ProductName:"Mozzarella di Giovanni", UnitPrice:34.8, Quantity:5, Discount:0, Price:174}
                 { OrderId: 10249, CustomerId:"TRADH", EmployeeId:6, OrderDate:"3-Feb-2007",
                     children:[
                        {ProductId:51, ProductName:"Manjimup Dried Appels", UnitPrice:42.4, Quantity:40, Discount:0, Price:1696},
                        {ProductId:14, ProductName:"Tofu", UnitPrice:18.6, Quantity:9, Discount:0, Price:167.4}
                 { OrderId: 10250, CustomerId:"HANAR", EmployeeId:4, OrderDate:"4-Feb-2007",
                     children:[
                        {ProductId:51, ProductName:"Manjimup Dried Appels", UnitPrice:42.4, Quantity:35, Discount:0.15, Price:1261},
                        {ProductId:41, ProductName:"Jack's Clam Chowder", UnitPrice:7.7, Quantity:10, Discount:0, Price:77},
                        {ProductId:65, ProductName:"Hot pepper Sauce", UnitPrice:16.8, Quantity:10, Discount:0.15, Price:214.2}
    I got this example from a tutorial online explaining how to use nested AdvancedDataGrids but hopefully you can see my point on how you could nest the "nodes" in their parents children object.  It has to be called children because the data object is defaulted to look there. If you created this type of Array all you would have to do then is:
    var hierData:HierarchicalData = new HierarchicalData(masterData);

  • Extracting SQL statement from a Webi document's data provider using SDK.

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to extract the SQL statement from an existing Webi document's data provider using BO SDK?  I've searched through the class library but haven't found any information on this yet.  If you have done it, could you provide some guidance.  Many thanks.

    I found the following Java code that might be of some help to you. I realize you are using .NET but this might push you down the right path.
    The trick here is to use the Report Engine SDK to get the DataProvider of the DocumentInstance. Then, look at the SQLDataProvider to get your SQLContainer.

  • Best Practice on using and refreshing the Data Provider

    I have a users page, that lists all the users in a table - lets call it master page. One can click on the first column to of the master page and it takes them to the detail page, where one can view and update the user detail.
    Master and detail use two different data providers based on two different CachedRowSets.
    Master CachedRowSet (Session scope): SELECT * FROM UsersDetail CachedRowSet (Session scope): SELECT * FROM Users WHERE User_ID=?I want the master to be updated whenever the detail page is updated. There are various options to choose from:
    1. I could call masterDataProvider.refresh() after I call the detailDataProvider.commitChanges() - which is called on the save button on the detail page. The problem with this approach is that the master page will not be refreshed across all user sessions, but only for the one saving the detail page.
    2. I could call masterDataProvider.refresh() on the preRender() event of the master page. The problem with this approach is that the refresh() will be called every single time someone views the master page. Further more, if someone goes to next page (using the built in pagination on the table on master page) and clicks on a user to view its detail and then close the detail page, it does not keep track of the pagination (what page the user was when he/she clicked on a record to view its detail).
    I can find some work around to resolve this problem, but I think this should be a fairly common usage (two page CRUD with master-detail). If we can discuss and document some best practices of doing this, it will help all the developers.
    Discussion:
    1.     What is the best practice on setting the scope of the Data Providers and CahcedRowSet. I noticed that in the tutorial examples, they used page/request scope for Data Provider but session scope for the associated CachedRowSet.
    2.     What is the best practice to refresh the master data provider when a record/row is updated in the detail page?
    3.     How to keep track of pagination, (what page the user was when he/she clicked on the first column in the master page table), so that upon updating the detail page, we cab provide user with a Close button, to take them back to whaterver page number he/she was.
    Thanks

    Thanks. I think this is a useful information for all. Do we even need two data providers and associated row sets? Can't we just use TableRowDataProvider, like this:
    TableRowDataProvider rowData=(TableRowDataProvider)getBean("currentRow");If so, I am trying to figure out how to pass this from master to detail page. Essentially the detail page uses a a row from master data provider. Then I need user to be able to change the detail (row) and save changes (in table). This is a fairly common issue in most data driven web apps. I need to design it right, vs just coding.
