Using Informatica/ETL as target system
Hello,
We have a scenario which we would like to use Informatica/ETL as target system.
Is there a connection option in SAP SLT to allow connection directly to Informatica/ETL?
Thanks,
Ky Can
In general SLT can be connected to all SAP NW supported DBs.
MSFT SQL Server Enterprise
Edition
Oracle Enterprise Edition
IBM DB2 LUW/ UDB (DB6)
IBM DB/2 zSeries
IBM DB2 iSeries (former AS/400)
IBM Informix
SAP MaxDB
Sybase ASE
SAP HANA
Anything else is not covered. I am not sure which DB Informatica is using.
In addition SLT has an integration with Data Services to get leverage the advantages of both worlds, so if Data Services is able to write to Informatica, we can put SLT for delta and real-time and DS to post to Informatica.
Best,
Tobias

SAP MDM and Informatica ETL as Integration Tool
HI Expert's
We have a Scenario where i want to use Informatica ETL as a Middle ware. Informatica will pull the data from legacy and will post a tab delimited file in MDM inbound folder.
can any one guide me how to achieve this ? what all steps need to be defined at Informatica ETL Level does any one know ?
I wont be using FTP for this activity si is there any other way for this?
Thanks in advance to all of you.
Regards
Praful.Hi Praful,
You are free to use any middleware as long as it gives data in required format to MDM
It depends what data you want to pull from source system using middleware. for Main table data (records) I am sure Middleware like informatica can place data in MDM inbound folder directly, then you don't need to Make it as FTP enabled. If NOT then you need tomake FTP enabled.
About reference data you need to decide how will you pull that from source system. Since it is not very frequent activity and if you have less number look-ups then even we can prepare data in spreadsheet and pull in MDM. Also check with Informatica if they can pull reference data from source system and place in MDM inbound folder of respective ports. If possible then you don't need to make it FTP enabled.
Having Informatica as middleware will also be helpful to carry your cleasing actvity. Update us on your views.
Cheers,

How to parameter Target System in eCATT
Dear all,
I would like to know if it is possible to have the Target System in the eCATT editor to parameterize them like the interfaces? In fact from solution manager I have to run a business scenario in diffrent satellite systems with RFC connections.
TCD (<transaction code>, <command interface> , TARGET_A).
TCD (<transaction code>, <command interface> , TARGET_B).
TCD (<transaction code>, <command interface> , TARGET_C).
etc.
Kind regards,
AkliluHello Aklilu,
as all people aggree, parametrizing is no option.
But it is even not needed to support your case.
What one should do is:
Use always the same eCATT target system (e.g.TARGET_A)for operations in one certain remote system (say A). Use another eCATT target system (e.g.TARGET_B) for another remote system (say B).
All these commands together can be part of one script or a couple of scripts and modules automating one business case, like in your sample. The target systems are defined in a systemdata container, e.g. SYS_DEV.
If that business case should be executed in another landscape, copy the system data container (e.g. to SYS_PROD), exchange the RFC destinations inside the copy and execute the script with that new system data container.
You even can create multiple testconfigurations refering to the script and assign the different system data container to each. Such you can avoid to type the different system data names again and again on eCATTs start screen.
In that sense eCATT Target Systems are already variables/parameters.
A last hint:
If you have multiple occurrence of a series of transactions in the same remote system, it is not needed to write the target system at each eCATT command. Simply aggregate the commands belonging together in one script and call that script from another one using REF with the target system.
Define TESTSCRIPT SOMETHING.
SAPGUI ( cmdi_ta_1 ).
SAPGUI ( cmdi_ta_2 ).
SAPGUI ( cmdi_ta_3 ).
In another script:
REF( SOMETHING, CMDI, TARGET_A ).
Works also with TCD, FUN, WEBDYNPRO, ....
Best regards

How to use FTP_COMMAND to put a file in the target system
Hi All,
I have the requirement to put an excel file from apllication server to another remote system for this i am using the function modules
1) FTP_CONNECT to connect to the sourece as well as the destination systems --- Here i am able to hit the both systems.
2) for sending the data to the target system i am using FTP_COMMAND by passing the 'put' statement along with the soruce and destinations for the command parameter.
See the bellow code
CONCATENATE 'put' v_fname '
' 'wbrs1\' folder
into cmd separated by space.
CALL FUNCTION 'FTP_COMMAND'

and wbrs1 is the target system and 'Waynesboro DFS' is the folder name i ma passing to the command .
Also I tried with the following statement
CONCATENATE 'put' v_fname '

into cmd separated by space.
Here v_name is the file path and name in the application server suppose say :

Dhost is wbrs1.wb.na.webdti.com
And Waynesboro DFS is the folder .
Here i am getting the error as invalid argument.
See the bellow messages from result internal table.

Please let me know how i can resolve this problem and how can I put this file in the destination system.
Thanks in advance.

DESCRIPTION : Phoneix Account Reconcilation Program-Feed
Balance sheet account balances from GL
3 files needed to be enhanced. The files are " Master
Attribute File" & "Transaction File(GL Balance)". For
Master Attribute File, data needs to be retrieved from
T001, ZDATSRC_T, SKA1, T003, T856. The corresponding
data from all the tables is downloaded into file
according to the condition specified. For Transaction
File, data needs to be retrieved from ZGEIST based on
Ledger(GG), Record Type(0), Fiscal Year, Period(016).
Then the current period is used to determine which TSLxx
& KSLxx needs to be used. Also, the conditions are
specified in specs which have been used accordingly.
The final data fetched will need to processed as files
which neednot be downloaded to Presentation/Application
server. Instead the files are been FTPed to the
Informatica Server using FTP. The location where the
files need to be located is ERC\GLOBALSAP.

Identifying the target system using FM extraction in a Generic Datasource
Hi all,
We are using a Generic datasource using FM for extraction from R/3 system to BW system. This Function module picks data from a Z table! After each successful delta extraction from the table, a flag field is set to identify whether the data is pulled or not.
We are about to use BO data services which is connected to the R/3 system to fetch data. For capturing delta records after the BW run has happened, the table can be added a new flag field to pull delta for Data services.
Is there any way to identify which target system's extraction is running particularly in the function module (for e.g., if BW extraction is triggered or BODS extraction is triggered) so as to set the respective target flag in the Z table?
Regards,
vivekLeandro,
The calling program of your FM should have a local variable I_RLOGSYS which is populated with the BW server ID.
If you don't know how to access a variable in a program that is in call stack using field symbols, search SDN.
I haven't tested this, so you may have to explore a little.
Good luck. -
If I use Informatica Big Data Edition do I still need to use Hadoop or MapR or any other similar systems to process data? What all activities will be specific to Informatica BD and Hadoop?1. My query is to process both structured and unstructured data in real time, so is Informatica Big Data Edition suffecient of do I have to use Hadoop or MapR or Cloudera etc to process data. If so then what all activities will be performed be Informatica and what all activities will require Hadoop.2. Also for scheduling do I need to go for ActiveBatch or I can perform it be native Informatica Scheduler itself?

How to generate a star pattern as output using Informatica
To generate a star pattern using Informatica depending on the number of rows in the input fileSuppose there are 7 rows in the source file (any type of data), the target should have 7 rows of stars in the following pattern:- This was one of the interview questions I was asked.
The drive in which I installed informatica ran out of disc space. So I found this in the error log SF_34125 Error in writing storage file [C:\Informatica\9.0.1\server\infa_shared\Storage\pmservice_Domain_ssintr01_INT_SSINTR01_1314615470_0.dat]. System returns error code [errno = 28], error message [No space left on device]. Then I tried to shut down the integration service and then freeup some space on the disc. I got the following message in the log file LM_36047 Waiting for all running workflows to complete.SF_34014 Service [INT_SSINTR01] on node [node01_ssintr01] shut down. Then when I tried to start the integration service again, I got the following error Could not execute action... The Service INT_SSINTR01 could not be enabled due to the following error: [DOM_10079] Unable to start service [INT_SSINTR01] on any node specified for the service After this I am not able to find any entry in the log file for the integration service. Outbound delivery replication in target system
Hi,
I want to replicate an outbound delivery in the target system through IDOC.
but when i use standard IDOC Message type DESADV alongwith standard output type LALE, then it does'nt get replicated and an Inbound delivery gets created instead in the target system.
I also used another alternative of using BAPI with Business object 'LIKP' and BAPI BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_SAVEREPLICA
but its not getting triggered may be coz m using the application program and routine in the Nace as RSNASTED only.
Do i have to use any other program in NACE with Z O/P type for the same if i use BAPI. If so then what shud be the program name and Routine name for the same.
Please help me to meet the above requirement with the appropriate aaproach.
A quck reply is highly appreciable.
Regards,
ManojHi Manoj,
Message type WHSORD is used transmit data to 3rd party whenever Outbound delivery is created in SAP i.e. as Outbound IDoc.
I am trying to understand the issue and slightly confused.
Is both sender & target systems are of SAP (SAP to WMS/EWM/SCM).
Message type SHP_OBDLV_SAVE_REPLICA which calls the BAPI you have already tried should work as I read from
below document.
[SAP document link|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/56a89d90-0201-0010-97a7-c5e8dbbb22e2?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true]
Please check if it can be useful.

Two Errors during Unicode import into Target System
I exported our non-unicode 64-bit test NW 7.0 BW database as unicode and now I have started the import into the new unicode database on the target system. I am using the Single Code Page System Conversion to Unicode NW 7.0 SP16 and higher documentation. We are at service pack 18 with NW 7. During the Import ABAP phase the sapinst stopped with an errors. I found the following the first error in the SAP000.log - O:\usr\sap\BWP\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\R3load.exe: START OF LOG: 20090326104509

It looks like the same error but in two different logs. Has anyone seen this error before? Thanks.I checked and the datafiles for all the tablespaces are set to autoextend up to 10gb and none have done this in the tablepaces that are close to being full. I did increase three tablespaces that were showing close to being full and that did not resolve the error. Would I need to restart the process from the beginning and adjust the dbsize.xml to make it work?

How to determine the target system during runtime of a Generic DS?
Hi Experts, good afternoon.
I am coding a Generic Extractor using Function Module. I have to select the field TIMESTAMP on table ROOSPRMSC. To do so, I need the value of RLOGSYS that is the BW system that is calling the Extractor.
Do anybody knows how to determine via ABAP the RLOGSYS (Remote Logical System) during the runtime of the Generic DataSource Function Module?
The table ROOSPRMSC keep the TIMESTAMPs values of the last delta upload for each DataSource and for each BW target system. As I have 2 BW's loading data from the same SAP ECC system, I need to know, during runtime of my Generic DataSource, the actual system that is requesting the delta. That's the reason why I need to know the BW's logical system name that is "runnig" the delta InfoPackage.
Plese, help!!!
Thanks in advance!
Leandro VaniLeandro,
The calling program of your FM should have a local variable I_RLOGSYS which is populated with the BW server ID.
If you don't know how to access a variable in a program that is in call stack using field symbols, search SDN.
I haven't tested this, so you may have to explore a little.
Good luck. -

BPM sending messages to wrong inbound interfaces in PI and target system
Hi All,
i am doing File to proxy scenarion using bpm.i am receiving three files, two files splitting on based condition(location code) in receiver determination and sending to bpm(here one bpm receiving 3 files then it merges 3 files into one proact and some promo messages based promos in source file ,same in the second bpm with 2 files with different mapping, here target system is SAP APO SNC).i am doing testing now mapping and every thing is working fine.but first bpm sending messages(proact and promo messages) target sytem side (proact_in and promo_in)inbound inrefaces.if i am executing scenario both bpm sending (proact and promo) messaegs in target system its showing wrong bpm name.in target system also we can check messgaes sxmb_moni.
ex:if first bpm A sending 1 proact and 2 promos, and second bpm B sending 1 proact and 2 promos to target system, but in target syetm its showing sender component as 1st bpm A for 3 promo messages(here B bpm messages sending with A bpm viceversa i did the configuration correctly) and for 1 its showing second bpm. please give me suggetions how to resolve this issue.
Thanks,
seshagiri. Is the connection to SNC via idocs or proxies. If it's via idocs can you check the control record and see if the issue is not there ?

SOAP Receiver Adapter Target system down
Hi All,
My scenario is SOAP Receiver adapter --- > Portal system (Target system.).
Now team is taking restart of target system. It will take around 1 hr. So my question what will happen to the messages which is received by SOAP Receiver adapter in this time frame. ?Hi Rajhans ,
All the messages during that period of time will fail with System Error ,We have to re-send these messages manually once the target system is up. In stead of selecting one by one you can set Multiple Selection On option to select the messages in RWB
.Please refer the weblog will give you some idea about the standard reports which can also be used to reprocess the messages.

do you have synchronous soap receiver or async?

Access current system or target system ID in message mapping
Hi.
I have a requirement to map three different constant values to Sales Org field, depending on whether the system is D, Q or Prod.
This needs to be done in the message mapping section of the Interface along with all the other mapping logic.
Is there any way how we can access the current system ID or the Target system ID (XI is communicating with target, in this case, ECC, using RFC receiver Communication channel)?
Please help.
Thanks.
Anuradha.Hi,
The key element would be :-
System.getProperty("SAPSYSTEMNAME");
Use this in UDF to get System Name ... and then on basis of systemname do whatever you want to perform.

Is the 'instanceof' operator discouraged ?
Hi, I have heard that the instanceof operator is not recommended and should be used only as a last resort. Can someone throw some light into it ? is there an alternative ? thanx and regards
