Using Ipod with car radio

I have tuned my wireless adaptor with my car radio but it does not seem to register it. Can anyone tell me how to do this successfully?

Your radio has to be on the same station as your wireless adaptor. If they are on the same station, try a different one. The ones that work best for me are the ones that are usually just static, like the 88s on FM Radio. If none of this works then something is probably wrong. Check your connections and battery also. There may be a software you need to install on your iPod.
Hope that helps!

  • Connecting iPod to car radio - USA-Spec

Just installed the USA-Spec adapter to connect my iPod to the factory radio in my Toyota via the CD changer (no factory iPod connector). This is by far the best sounding and most elegant solution I have found - since it's a direct connection and there are no wires showing.
There seems to be an issue with the pause/play on the iPod sometimes getting out of sync with the radio. When you turn the radio off the iPod goes on and visa versa.
Could really use some insight for resolving this - before it drains my car battery.
    Thanks.

Contact the car manufacturer.  Find out if it is compatible with your model iPod Nono.  You must be specific as which model you have in order to receive the correct information from the car manufacturer.

  • Connecting iPOD to car radio

    Hi there,
Recently, I got a new car. A Seat Leon with a radio/MP3/Navigation system. The system is the exact same one used in VolksWagens (IIRC the manufacturer is BlauPunkt).
Since I'm taking a long trip from Holland to Denmark soon, and I don't want to listen to the German 'Rundfunk', I decided to replace my old iPOD (it got very sick. Its HD went 'click' all the time, which can't be good)) with a new iPOD 30 GB.
This morning I stepped into my car, excited like a kid in a candystore, and hooked up the USB cable to the USB port of my car. Then I plugged in the iPOD, which told me to not disconnect. SCORE! Or not?
The iPOD realises it is connected, and starts charging. It also pretends to be playing, but my radio won't recognise it. Anyone have any experience like this? The dealer I bought the car at recommended me to RTFM and configure the radio for AUX, but I don't think there's such a thing, and they are closed now, so I cannot even yell at them now.
    Anyone at all? whimpers
    Thanks.

Having a USB port is not all you need. It's just one piece.
Is the car radio 'iPod Ready'?
The radio needs to be aware that it is an iPod connected to it, and not just some USB storage device which has MP3 files on it.

  • Using iPod with Belkin Tunecast II Mobile Transmitter

I purchased this today and tried to set up this evening. The Belkin works off audio levels from the iPod, but when I attach it to my iPod it does not come on (it is supposed to come on automatically when it senses the audio level). I tried it with batteries and with the adapter to the cig lighter which should power the Belkin. Nothing. I tried a set of headphones on the iPod, nothing. I tried the ear buds that came with the iPod and (after having to reset the iPod) did get audio. It appears that the only audio plug working with my iPod is the one on the ear buds which came from the mfg. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my iPod. The iPod also freezes when I use either of the 2 audio plugs NOT on my ear buds. Any suggestions? Any recommendations for a good way to play my iPod from the car radio? Thank you!

I am having the same problem, I thought it was the Belkin thing that wasn't working because I turn it on and it works and as soon as I plug the wire into the Belkin it just shuts off. I really don't want to try to restore the ipod, cause I'm not that good at this stuff and I don't know how to backup my songs and I have a lot on there. Did restoring it work for you?

  • Anyone else lose bluetooth connection with car radio since updating to IOS 6?

I've lost consistent connection between my iPhone 4S and car radio (Kenwood) ever since I upgraded to IOS 6.  This is apparantly happening to lots of people. I use this bluetooth for hands-free calling on my phone so I'm hoping Apple will come out with IOS 6.1 soon to address this software patch.  Others experiencing this with their phones and car stereo systems?

I'm having probems as well.  I can make calls and play music but I can only change songs on my iPhone 4S but not with the controls on the car.  I was able to do this before the upgrade.

  • Change apple-id, use ipod with new apple-id

    Hello,
my daugthers's "IPod touch" was the first apple device in the family. To be able to use it I created an Apple-ID with my personal data.
Now I bought an "IPad 2" at an Apple-Shop. The sales assisant helped me with the setup an we used the same Apple-ID as I already used with the IPod. But now i noticed that it was a mistake.
It would be better that my daughter's IPod uses it's own Apple-ID. Is it possible to change the ID for the IPod? What do I have to do?
    Thanks for your answers.

What will happen to the apps she already bought with the "first ID".
Absolutely nothing.  They will continue to function just fine.

Do I have to back up the IPod with ITunes an the "old" ID? Then change the ID on the IPod? ...? Or what ...?
No.  A single backup takes care of all apps.

In the event that a real disaster occurs and the backup is lost, the apps can be downloaded again at no charge.  However, you MUST use the same ID that was used for the original purchase.  Log out and back in again.
    pomatt wrote:

The credits stay with the ID.  They can not be transferred.
App updates can be done from either iTunes OR from the iPod and the next sync will transfer the update to the other device.  However, if you do it from iTunes, you must log out of one ID and into the other to for the updates of the "old" apps.  Then, when finished, log out/in again.  If you update from the iPod, you don't have to log out/in.  The iPod identifies the appropriate ID and, of course, asks for the password.
In case you're wondering, I ended up with two IDs by accident.

  • Error 80 when using bluetooth on car radio

error 80 when using bluetooth on pioneer car radio with my iphone 4 and 5

me too...did some digging on the internet and appears Error -80 means the car deck is expecting some bluetooth protocols that your iPhones wont give out.  mine was intermittent for last couple years (deck is 12 years old) as of last night i just get error -80 everytime i try to dial out or recieve a call via bluetooth. this issue was intermittent with an iPhone 3G, 4, 4S, 5 and now my current 5S.  im blaming Pioneer not Apple for this
I ended up buying a new deck for my car...gets installed tomorrow.

  • Sound problems with car radio

    Hello,
I've updated my iPod touch 3G from 3....to OS 4.01. Since then there is often an "unclear" sound when it is connected with our JVC car radio. I've tried different combinations, also with an iPod classic connected with the radio and the touch with other docks, but only t h i s combination causes unsatisfying sound results. Not always, but often. It's annoying...any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Knödel

    Hi,
I work for JVC and would like to try and help. I had similar problems with 4.0.1 which went away when I updated to iOS 4.1. Now Apple has release iOS 4.2.
Please try a further update, and if that doesn't solve your problem, please let me know the specific model of JVC that you have.
    Thanks,

  • Ringtone bug with car radio via Bluetooth

My Lumia 520 pairs with my Sony car radio just like my old Nokia did, but there's an odd problem with the ringtone:  when I receive a call, the phone vibrates and then instead of the radio playing my ringtone and the phone remaining silent, the radio plays some Windows alert tone while at the same time my phone plays its ringtone.
Anyone else seen anything like that?

Yes, get an iFM transitter from eBay or Amazon.
Search for Griffin or Monster or just iPod Classic FM transmitter and charger, they are inexpensive less than US$30.
Get one with charger or else you iPod might run out of battery faster.

Now I have lost the ability to select playlist > albums. I tried to putting in the software again, I have tried all sorts of things, but the radio won't read the ipod like it did before. • Is there a way to use ipod with new computer without erasing entire library

I'm not really tech-savvy, but I'm tossing my old computer and getting a new one - is there a way to use my ipod on my new computer without erasing my existing library? It won't let me make changes to my ipod and wants me to erase everything that is on there right now - HELP!

Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in iTunes enable it for disk use, this is required for most if not all the utilities listed below so they can access the files: Using your iPod as a storage drive
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • How can I copy a podcast from iTunes to a SBU stick to use in my car radio?

Before latest update of iTunes, I have always been able to copy a podcast downloaded to iTunes , into a USB stick for my car radio. I can't see how to do that anymore.
I have no similar problems with my iPhone and my iPad.
By the way. Is it possibly to play from iPhone or iPad into the car radio ?
With cable, BlueTooth or a third possibility???
    Can anyone help me.
    regards
    Ebbe

Copy the file from iTunes or from Windows Explorer to the USB drive.
Nothing special and in no way involves or requires iTunes.

That depends entirely on the head unit in the vehicle and what it supports.  Check the Owner's Manual for the vehicle or the head unit (if aftermarket).

  • Charging iPhone 5 interferes with car radio

When I charge my iPhone 5 with the car charger, it interferes with the radio (not other audio sources) and produces lots of static. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

Search "Car radio interference causes" on Google, and you'll see that's normal.
Choose "Car radio interference filters" and you'll find solutions.

  • Using iPod with high frequencies

Hi there - I'm having treatment for tinnitus (high-pitched sound in the ear). There is a treatment where you listen to music interlaced with high frequency sounds which is supposed to stimulate the brain & the cilia inside the ear. They have CDs available but recommend not to use iPod. My question is, if you transferred the CDs using Apple Lossless would the high frequencies come through? Bear in mind some of these frequencies are up to around 14 KHz and there are all sorts of subtleties in the signal. One question is transferring it to the PC using Apple Lossless, the other question is playing it back on the 5G iPod. I'm also thinking of getting a Nano just for this - would it play it back OK? Thanks!
    MacBook Pro 15", 60 GB 5G iPod   Mac OS X (10.4.4)
    14 iBook, 768 RAM, 60GB   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

This is only my personal opinion, which can be wrong.
First, human can only listen to 20KHz most, thats why the CD's frequency response only cover in the range of 20-20KHz.
For iPod - the apple mentioned the following
iPod is designed to provide the best-quality sound. iPod has a powerful 60 mW amplifier so it can deliver audio as loud as you want. It also has a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, which means you can hear distortion-free music at the lowest or highest pitches. Even the iPod headphones are designed to give you the best-quality sound. The earbud-style headphones rely on Neodymium transducers, a rare earth magnet that significantly enhances frequency response and overall sound quality. Most other headphones use aluminum, cobalt, or ceramic drivers; at the same size, the Neodymium driver is five times as powerful. Because the strength of the driver increases the accuracy of the sound, the iPod headphones provide a high-energy listening experience while minimizing distortion.
To ensure CD-quality sound, be sure to use a compression setting of 160 kbit/s (the default setting in iTunes) or higher when you "rip" tracks from your CD into MP3 format, or 128 kbit/s in MP4 format (AAC).
Therefore, if you rip the music from a CD, it does not matter whether it is MP3, AAC or Apple Lossless, it will no reduce the frequency response, however, there is noticeable difference of sound quality from different format, of course with Apple Lossless format being the best, but much bigger size.

You no longer need an install CD as the iPod software is now contianed in iTunes.
If the computer is not recognizing that your iPod is connected, try the suggestions in these articles.
Windows XP cannot detect an iPod.
USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date.
iTunes 7 or later doesn't recognize the iPod.
