Using Java 1.2.2 w/ JDeveloper 2.0
I have had to upgrade to 1.2.2 in order to fix a memory leak in
Swing. I can no longer debug b/c the JDeveloper version I have
only supports debugging up to 1.2.1. I get the following
message...
Cannot debug project with Target JDK 'java version "1.2.2"',
can only debug with Target JDK 'java
version "JDK1.2_JDeveloper"'.
Is there any way to restore debugging funcionality (plugin, etc)
or do I wait for a new version of JDeveloper?
null
Hi
You would loose debugging functionlity with other JDK's. Oracle
JDeveloper 3.0 has support for 1.1.8 and 1.2.2 and will be
available around end of November.

Start using Java 7 in JDeveloper
Hi,
I'm using the lastest JDeveloper and this might be a silly question, but how can i set it up to start compiling using Java 7 sdk? I tried preference but it doesn't have it there.
Also, i'm guessing i need to do the same for my weblogic.
-MarvinAfter installing Java 1.7.0 I got "Unsupported JDK version" message during JDeveloper 11g startup. No choice to select any other version of Java with this screen at all. So you have to say "Yes" to "Continue anyway?"question to get started IDE.
That's the story: I had uninstalled Java 1.6.0_26 after installing 1.7.0, so I installed it again. Then I've added Java 1.6.0_26 by using JDeveloper "Tools-Manage Libraries" feature to "Java Definitions - Libraries - User" successfully. Still I got the same message while starting up..
Well, should I re-install JDeveloper to fix this or any other idea?
p.s. I have many screenshots related to above story, but I cannot share through this forum unfortunately. -
Using Java Access bridge (Accessibility) with oracle forms 6.0 client
I'm trying to use JAB (java Access bridge ) to capture events in oracle forms 6.0 client .
I've a Jinitiator 1.1.8 and JRE version 1.4x
I've configured JAB as per the installation guide . However the events don't surface in Java Monkey .
Has anybody encountered similar issue ? what is the solution for the issue ??
Also on one of the forums I read Jinitiator 1.3x and above is automatically recognised by Java Access bridge .
For jinitiator version less than 1.3 manual configuration is required . however I haven;'t been able to find any on the oracle forms KB
Also here is the excerpt from the link http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/faqs/index.html
Q: Are there special steps for using Java-based applications with assistive technology?
A: If the Oracle application is written in Java, such as JDeveloper or Oracle Forms (runtime), customers must first install the latest version of Sun's Java Access Bridge. The Java Access Bridge provides the integration with screen readers such as JAWS or SuperNova that support Java. You just download the Access Bridge and install it. Sun's AccessBridge 2.0x recognizes Oracle's JInitiator 1.3x and above so no manual configuration steps are necessary. The Access Bridge is available from: http://java.sun.com/products/accessbridge. At the time this document was written, Access Bridge 2.0.1 is the most current publicly available production release; Oracle recommends upgrading to this version. Sun's AccessBridge is bundled with Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) and can be found in the Java Runtime Engine (JRE). More information for configuring such products is in the respective product documentation, or on http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/products/index.html.

Using JHS 10.1.2 on Jdeveloper 10.1.3
Hi,
We have been using JHS 10.1.2 on Jdeveloper 10.1.2. Now we are upgrading from Jdeveloper 10.1.2 to 10.1.3. So when we tried to migrate the existing modules in Jdeveloper 10.1.3 by including all the JHS 10.1.2 libraries, all the modules which just has single tables, work fine. when there is a parent-child relationship exists, we experience problems.
Assume we have a table called APP_CATEGORY which has an id and a name and we have another child table APP_CATEGORY_NLS which has the id, nls_name and lang_id.
The functionality goes this way: when we click on the name of the app_category, we would show the details of the app_category and the child records with the matching id.
when we click on the link on the name column, we get a 500 Internal server error "Exception running method onSetCurrentRowWithKey"
Any pointers?
Here is the log message,
08/01/28 10:59:43.31 masteradmin: Exception running method onSetCurrentRowWithKey

How to use java programe in oracle form
Hello Expert,
My Config is : -
Forms [32 Bit] Version 11.1.1.3.0 (Production)
Jdeveloper - 10.1.3
I want to use the java programe in form builder. I create the one java class in Jdeveloper -
package demo;
import java.net.InetAddress;
import java.net.NetworkInterface;
import java.net.SocketException;
import java.net.UnknownHostException;
public class get_info{
public static void main(String[] args){
ch_add();
public static void ch_add()
InetAddress ip;
try {
ip = InetAddress.getLocalHost();
/*System.out.println("Current IP address : " + ip.getHostAddress()); */
NetworkInterface network = NetworkInterface.getByInetAddress(ip);
byte[] mac = network.getHardwareAddress();
/*System.out.print("Current MAC address : "); */
StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
for (int i = 0; i < mac.length; i++)
sb.append(String.format("%02X%s", mac[i], (i < mac.length - 1) ? "-" : ""));
System.out.println(sb.toString());
} catch (UnknownHostException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} catch (SocketException e){
e.printStackTrace();
and this into Formweb.cfg and default.env and also add into Form_class_path. After that i import this java into forms.
Code genertated -

Trying to write data to a text file using java.io.File
I am trying to create a text file and write data to it by using java.io.File and . I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0. When I try run the program I get a java.lang.NullPointerException error. Here is the snippet of code that I believe is calling the class that's causing the problem:
String fpath = "/test.html";
FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(fpath);
PrintStream pout = new PrintStream(out);
Do I need to add additional locations for source files or am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.Hi dhartle,
May be that can help:

This class contained some other functions i've deleted, but i think it still works.
That enables to create a log (.txt file) that you can fill line by line.
Each line start by the current system date. This class was used in swing application, but could work in a web app.

Creating Web Services using Java Implementation
Hi,
This is quite a general question on how to create a Web Service using Java Implementation that needs to conform to a client XML schema.
Here are my Version specs,
I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4.0 and deploying onto OAS 10.1.3.
I will be creating a J2ee 1.4 (JAX-RPC) Web Service using Document/Wrapped style.
I have been provided an XML schema from the client which is quite complex.
Using a top-down approach, I can create my WSDL file and import the XML Schema for my type definitions.
The Web service aim is to accept some parameters and return some data from the Oracle Database. The
XML response from the web service must conform to the element, attribute definitions in the provided XML schema.
From a Java implementation approach, what is the best (simplest or quickest) way to retrieve data from the Oracle
tables and map each fields/column to the required XML output (defined in the XML schema).
I'm not too concerned with using Java to retrieve data from the Database, more with how I can map the data returned
to the required output. Can this mapping task be controlled within the Java program?
Thanks in advance.Hi,

Java Studio Creator Vs Oracle JDeveloper
We are looking at using Java to develop Web Applications connected to Oracle.
Which tool would suit us best?
Per-Olof HermanssonJSC is an Early Access release and hence may have issues. But, I think it's bound to succeed in the due course of time. You may start testing it now and see if it fits to your needs. JDeveloper is a very nice tool too.

Create web service using java class
Hi,
I created the web service using java class then i deployed this web service in to the weblogic admin server.when i tested this process it is working fine.
when I tested The generated WSDL to this process in browser(IE). it is not working.
I need to to invoke this webservice from another BPEL but this WSDL is not working.Hi,
when i created the webservice in jdeveloper by default it is connected to integrated weblogic server and generates this wsdl.
http://localhost:7101/helloApplication-javaexcel-context-root/MyWebService1Soap12HttpPort?WSDL
then I deployed this webservice in to the Adminserver.it gives the following URL.
http://192.168.56.1:7001/extracExcelToCSV-extractExcelToCSV-context-root/ExtractExcelToCSVSoap12HttpPort?wsdl
This URL is not working but when i tested this process it is working fine.
It is giving below error when i try to invoke from jdeveloper

Add a system property when the deployment java command is build by jdevelop
Hello everybody,
I have fedora core 4 installed using jdk 1.4.2_06 and JDeveloper 9.0.5.2.
I have cofigured a connection to a external OC4J standalone where I want to deploy my applications.
There are a problem between fedora core 4 anda jdk 1.4.2 that it's solved adding the argument "-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true" to the java command when it's run.
The problem is that I don't know where I must put this parameter so that when I do a deployment to the OC4J Standalone, the command that jdeveloper build include this system property. Now the command that it builds is
java -jar admin.jar ...
I need that the command was:
java -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack -jar admin.jar ...
Thank you very much in advance.I'll see this menu, but it allow to configure the internal OC4J standalone of the JDeveloper.
I want to deploy to an OC4J standalone that is external to JDeveloper, and that is running in another machine. -
Deployment Issues using Java Web Start
I am attempting to deploy a Java application that works in JDeveloper. The app has a Database connection to a MSSQL 2000 Server which is loaded into the active Project Libraries as Other JBDC. When I deploy the app using Java Web Start I receive the following error: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SqlServerDriver.
How to I need to configure my deployment so the JDBC works properly? Thanks in advanceI got it to work with the following settings:
1. edit ur ctbuild.xml file to have these settings:
<include name="BC4J/lib/msbase.jar"/>
<include name="BC4J/lib/mssqlserver.jar"/>

Unable to send messag to JMS Queue using Java
Hi all,
I am trying to send a string to the JMS queue using java. I am unable to send the message. It is getting failed at the look up for connection factory. I am using the below code for this purpose.
public static void messageEnqueue(String payload) throws JMSException,
NamingException,
IOException {
Session session = null;
MessageProducer publisher = null;
TextMessage message = null;
Context context = new InitialContext();
QueueConnectionFactory connectionFactory =
(QueueConnectionFactory)context.lookup("*java:comp/env/XAConnectionFactoryJNDIName*");
Connection connection = connectionFactory.createConnection();
Queue Queue1 =
(Queue)context.lookup("*java:comp/env/QueueName*");
session = connection.createSession(true, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
publisher = session.createProducer(Queue1);
message = session.createTextMessage(Payload);
connection.start();
publisher.send(message);
connection.stop();
connection.close();
kindly help on this.
Thanks

Hi EJP,
This is the Exception I got when I ran the java class directly from Jdeveloper. Can't I run the standalone class directly from Jdeveloper to insert the message into remote queue?

It seems to be doing a JNDI lookup, and you haven't configured JNDI properly. Exactly how to do this depends on what JNDI provider you are using. Earlier in the thread you mentioned you were using WebLogic, so the answer may lie in the WebLogic documentation.

Deployment of Java WebService with OC4J and JDeveloper
Hi,
I have created a sample java webservice following instructions given in one OTN tutorial (Developing, Deploying and Managing Web Services Using JDeveloper and Oracle Application Server ) at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/ws/wsandascontrol.htm
We were able to create the webservice as shown in the tutorial but are facing problem while deploying it. The deployment message console in JDeveloper shows one "Deployment failed : ClassCastException".
Some of the lines from Jdeveloper console are ::
"Binding WebServices web-module for application JavaWebService-GetDates-WS to site default-web-site under context root JavaWebService-GetDates-context-root failed"
I have gone through the stack trace in the OC4J console but couldnt figure out much out of it as all the culprit classes are from different jar files...Here is the Stack trace for your ref::

2006-05-05 19:07:12.713 WARNING java.lang.ClassCastException
I am using J2SE1.4.2_08 version. Earlier when I used java 5 version I got an error something like "Found runtime environment 49.0 expected environment is 48.0"....so I moved over to J2SE1.4.2_08 version but now I am getting above error as shown in the stack trace.
Looking at the success message shown in the OTN tutorial it seems that only step that failed while this deployment is Initialization of servlet : Oracle.j2ee.ws.server.JAXRPCServlet for webapplication Webservices.Hi, thanks for your quick help.
Shay, I agree with you that the specific tutorial uses JDeveloper 10.1.3 and I need to use JDK 5 to run that version of JDeveloper.
Earlier when I used JDK 5 with JDeveloper 10.1.3, I got different error saying "Found runtime environment 49.0 expected environment is 48.0".....so I moved over to J2SE1.4.2_08 version but now I am getting an error as shown in the stack trace given in the very first post to this thread. -
How to access PL/SQL Web Services using java
New to Webservices. Created PL/SQL Web Service using JDeveloper. Vendor is not sure how to access it using java. Can anyone please help to point in the right direction or provide some sample ?
So if I'm correct you have already exposed a PL/SQL procedure or function as web service?
In that case you can generate a proxy (client) for the generated web service using JDeveloper. It will generate Java code which invokes the web service.
See the wizard in JDeveloper, it should be in the same category as the create PL/SQL web service wizard.

*public class perInfo {*
String uname;
String firstName;
String lastName;
*public perInfo(String firstName,String lastName,String uname) {*
this.uname = uname;
this.firstName = firstName;
this.lastName = lastName;
*public String getUname() {*
return uname;
*public String getFirstName() {*
