Using javascript to delay flash banner from loading

I have a website built in HTML with a small flash banner. My
problem is that the flash loads before the rest of the page loads.
Is there a way to delay the flash from loading using javascript
until the rest of the page has loaded?

It is a bit complicated but you can set a delayed function,
where you will load the flash banner:

Using Javascript Functions with Flash 8

I wanted to know how to integrate Javascript functions with
Flash 8 created swf files. I assume this would be done using
ActionScript, I know some ActionScript but am not as familiar with
it as to be able to integrate other programming languages with it.
I'd like to be able to call other programming language functions

Using Javascript to create concatenated string from checkbox fields to one text field

Hi. I have a PDF form that I am trying to have output to a spreadsheet that matches my database schema. Here is the dilemna:
* I have a set of checkboxes for available languages (LANGUAGE_ENGLISH, LANGUAGE_SPANISH, etc.) When they export to spreadsheet, the value is TRUE.
* I need to take values from checked boxes and create a single string in a text field called LANGUAGE_DISPLAY (so my UI will not need to do the concatenation). If LANGUAGE_ENGLISH is TRUE (checked), append "English, " to LANGUAGE_DISPLAY, else append "". Then, if LANGUAGE_SPANISH is TRUE (checked), append "Spanish, " to LANGUAGE_DISPLAY, else append "". And on and on
In the LANGUAGE_DISPLAY text field properties, I am inserting a Custom Calculation script to try to achieve this, but am not getting any results. I tried teh following even trying to pull the checkboxes default values and string them together:

LiveCycle Designer has shipped with all Acrobat Professional versions since the "Professional" version was introduced with version 6.
You do not let us know want results you get in the field or the JavaScript console.

But for each unchecked box the value would appear as "Off". So one needs to change the 'Off' value to a null string. But one is still left with the separator when there is an unchecked option.

Flash banner not loading if clickTAG is included

I don't have access to the original Flash file - can someone help?

Using javaScript to change a field from required to not required

Hi,
I have what seems like a simple question .I would like to know if it is possible to have a function call from my jsf code to a javascript function which could change a text field input from required to not required .
I can do this through the server but would prefer to do it in the front end .
e.g . I have a pull down list and when I click on one of the values it calls a function in javascript which changes a text field from required to not required .

Instead of having the field required on the component defeiniton, put that requirement on code.
Either way you can't do that on javascript. If you could do that then you could fool the aplication...

I am receiving error code of "Error: oElement is null" which is preventing some flash ads from loading on my site. Any solutions?

Over the past few weeks, I have had some problems with some flash ads not showing up. I did a check in the error console and saw the following:

The same ad shows up fine in Safari which leads me to believe this might be due to Firefox. Anyone else see anything similar?

Can you post a link to that site then we can take a look?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Suggestions to stop a flash banner reloading..

i have a DW page template which has a flash banner in the
header, from
these i have built a site.
i have just realised that when i navigate around the site the
flash banner
re loads each time the new page loads - which is a bit of a
pain!
so how can i stop this - i suppose i could use a frameset but
i dont want to
unless its the only option?
maybe i could use a i-frame?
any suggestions?

That's a good idea, in my opinion. But as long as you use
Flash, and you
don't want it to restart on every page, they are your only
options.

How to publish a flash banner without generating errors?

Oracle content presenter template for a flash banner with onclick property

Hi all,
I m using webcenter portal applicaiton which a banner on my home page.On click of the flash banner, we navigate it to a specific page in my applicaion(i.e on my application resides a page called test, if i click my flash banner it will navigate to that speicific page.
My application connects with oracle content server(ucm) to fetch the content.
Now i tried to fetch the flash banner from Oracle Content server. When i fetch the banner from ucm by cmf:renderproperty using a content presenter template, the flash banner is not navigating to the test page as it did early.
It takes the path from ucm(like http://xxx:16200/cs/public/do...). I tried using af:inlineframe but still getting the same path like http://xxx:16200/cs/public/doc...)
Kindly help me out.

Flash intro only loads sound, no video, no interface. Works fine in other browsers.

We are re-doing our website and cannot resolve a compatibility problem with Firefox on both Windows or Mac, and also tested through Adobe Browserlabs.
The problem: the Flash intro loads only sound; there should be videos playing full width of the browser frame and an interface to browse through the videos, mute the sound and press play/ pause.
Other browser on various platforms work fine (IE/ Safari/ Chrome on Windows XP,7 and MacOSX)
We've tried various user profiles, computers, systems and countries, but the site shows the same problem with firefox everywhere.
I assume it has to do with the coding of the site, would you be able to tell why it is not working?

Hi,
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that off, restart Safari. Try a video.
Extensions such as Incognito and YouTube5 will prevent Flash content from loading.
Your profile indicates are you running v10.6.6. If that's the case, there are updates available. Click your Apple menu (top left in your screen) then click Software Update...

Flash banner appears well before rest of page when loading

When my page first opens my flash banner appears a few seconds before the rest of the page. Is there a way to have it open together with the rest of the page or is it something I have to live with? I suspect that it's just the way it is, but I wanted to ask anyway.

For the most part this is likely something you will just have to live with. Load speed is determined by forces outside of our control, for the most part.
Though, if you are using javascript to embed the SWF, you may move the embed call to the bottom of the page to make it the last thing that loads. That might help out a little bit.

Yes i did try the same ..

When i checked the mtest table it shos me the row inserted...
inside foolter .. Now this means everything did get execute properly
But still the vallue of off_city is null or emtpy...
i check the filed and still its empty..
while mtest had those records..seems like some process is cleaining the values...but cant see such process...
a bit confused..here..I tried on Load after footer...
tried chaning the squence number of process ..but still it doesnt help
some how the session variables gets changed...and it is changed to empty

How can I pass variables from one project to another using Javascript?

Hi all, I am trying to do this: let learners take one course and finish a quiz. Then based on their quiz scores, they will be sent to other differenct courses.
However, I wish keep track on their previous quiz scores as well as many other variables.
I found this nice widge of upload/download variables by CPguru (http://www.cpguru.com/2011/05/18/save-and-load-data-widget-for-adobe-captivate-4-and-adobe -captivate-5/). However, this widget works by storing variables from one project in local computer and then upload it to another project.
My targeted learners may not always use the same computer though, so using this widget seems not work.
All these courses resided in a local-made LMS which I don't have access to their code. Therefore, passing variables to PHP html files seems not work.
Based on my limited programing knowledge, I assume that using Javascript to pass variables may be the only possible way.
Can someone instruct me how to do this?

If you create two MIDlet in a midlet suite, it will display as you mentioned means you can't change the display style.

Using Javascript to rotate images with the style.backgroundImage property & I leave the onload pg & return, the images have trouble loading.

The script is triggered by the load event when the homepage loads and the script only runs on the homepage. Everything works fine upon opening the homepage.
If I leave the home page and return, the images will have trouble loading for about 3 to 5 cycles and I'll get white backgrounds for part of the time. The same thing happens if I enter the site from a page other than the homepage and then go to the homepage.
I discovered, however, that if I enter the site at the homepage and then leave the homepage and return using the back button, everything runs fine. Apparently it then accesses a cached version of the homepage? Seems having two cached versions creates a conflict?
This problem only happens with Firefox (I have ver 29.0.1). It does not happen on IE ver 11, Chrome ver 34, or Safari ver 5.1.7.
I get the same problem with XP, Win7, and Win8 but, only on Firefox.
Can you please fix this?

URL of the current portal page loaded using Javascript ?

I am trying to add programmatically the url of the current
page loaded in the portal to the 'Favorites List'. There
is a pre-built KM iview to store your 'favorites'.
I can extract and write to this 'favorites' using KM java
API. But only challenge is to extract the current loaded
page URL and title using Javascript.

Basically, what this does is that everytime a page loads, the innerpage, where the content is, raises an event using the EPCM.raiseEvent() method. EPCM.subscribeEvent subscribes to an event called AddNavTargetAllowDuplicate which has an object holding the page information (i.e. page title and URL (ROLE://...)). Everytime that it notices an event raised, the function getPageObject gets called to go get data from the event object that is available globally in the framework.
You should be able to put this code anywhere in any iview and it should work. Thou i have only tried putting it in the masthead. Try and if you still have questions please let me know.
