Using JDialog etc in Fullscreen

Has anyone had any success using JDialog or any other pop-up type classes in Fullscreen applications? If so, how did you go about it?
We're trying to migrate an old swing application to fullscreen and it would be really useful if we didn't have to write custom alerts, filechoosers and everything else...

basically we have two 'notation', business content delivered objects and our own created objects,
business content objects will have prefix /bi0/ ...
and our own created objects will start with /bic/ ...
next is the p, q notation,
it's tables' name, p is the master data attribute table (for non time dependent),
e.g we have infoobject 0customer then the table is /bi0/pcustomer (no zero),
and we created our own infoobject zcountry, the table is /bic/pzcountry (use z)
you can check multidimentional data modeling doc for the tables name
and SELECT we will deal with field name .... you can check the table structure with SE11, e.g 0customer attribute table /BI0/PCUSTOMER
you will see that field name for business content is without zero,
customer, country, and e.g we have add attribute zarea to 0customer,
the field name is /bic/zarea

Sounds like you got a store demo. Look in your settings and see if you see "Demo Mode/Demonstration Mode" or something similar.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

I have manipulated a photo using layers etc and then flattened it and saved it under a new name. When I use 'Preview' (mac) to view the finished photo it doesn't look right. It's as the layers have not flattened correctly. When viewed in Elements 12 it

It's as the layers have not flattened correctly. When viewed in Elements 12 it looks OK. The photo looks incorrect in other software such as photo books.
Looking at the same photo before flattening, what is being shown is only the top layer.
How do I correct this?

The top layer is indeed the one that is visible, unless there is/are area(s) of translucency on that layer, so that you can visualize a portion of the subjacent layer.

Are your settings targeted to have the printer manage colors, or, to have PSE manage colors?

When using Flash plugin in Fullscreen the video starts pausing occasionally for a second. OK when not in Fullscreen and works fine in Fullscreen with other Browsers.

I have recently upgraded to 10.0 and whenn using Flash Player in Fullscreen it behaves badly. Starts pausing frequently for aroun a second. It's annoying. When I escape fullscreen and run it within the Browser panel it's fine.. Other Browsers work fine in Full Screen Mode. Tried it with IE and Google Chrome. Firefox is my default Browser so my preferred option.

I am implementing a dictionary program by detecting word in a JTextPane and asking a user to choose one of available meanings from JOptionPane or JDialog. The program runs under a while-loop until all dictionary words are detected or a user clicks cancel.
However, I don't want to use JDialog or JOptionPane because it is sometimes annoying to have a popup window on every detected dictionary word.
So, I use JList with Buttons on the same Frame as the JTextPane. However, now, the program does not stop when it detects a dictionary word. It just uses a default value of the JList for translating word to meaning.
Is there any way I can simulate the JDialog or JOptionPane without using it?
I mean I'd like to stopp the program temporary, wait for an answer from other components, and then continue to detect the next dictionary word.

I'm probably reading this all wrong, but instead of the while loop,
the method just looked for a dictionary word from a particular caretPosition,
so, to start, it would be findWord(0)
when found, add whatever to wherever, note the caretPostion at the end of the 'found' word, and method returns.
when the user selects whatever button, the button's actionListener also calls the method again, using the noted caretPosition
findWord(42);
so, it starts searching from 42 (instead of the start)
basically it is event driven
findWord sets the button/s
click a button starts findWord

Why wont itunes download onto my computer? I need it to update my ipad and use cloud etc

I keep trying to download itunes onto my computer as I need it to update my ipad and use cloud etc. I phoned apple support and they could not work out why it will not download on my computer. I am going into the apple shop to get help but just wondered if anyone else has this problem, the only thing I can think of is that my internet connection/broadband is very slow. Anybody any ideas?

What web browser are you using? Maybe the browser stopped the download of iTunes.
Try downloading iTunes again with another browser -> http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

The user guide says:
Movies viewed in Videos and YouTube appear only in landscape orientation. Street views in Maps
also appear only in landscape orientation.
Do you have the scree orientation lock turned on? If on there is a circular arrow icon with a padlock inside next to the battery charge icon in the upper right.

Using JDialog and JLabels

Ok I am using a class which extends JDialog. I create a JLabel and add it with the following:
JLabel theLabel = new JLabel("Blahblahblah" + "\n" + "More blah blah");
<thisClass>.getContentPane().add(theLabel);
When the class is run, the label presents the following to the screen:
Blahblahblah[]More blah blah
The "\n" is not working to set the text to the next line. I was wandering if anybody knew of probelms using JDialog or what.

My good old problem still :(
So in a button's actionlistener I made a much-time-needed thing. During that I want to popup a jdialog that displays 'please-wait'. I made a thread, which gets the main-frame as a parameter, so in this thread I make a dialog, the main-frame as the owner, I put it modal etc. And when the much-time-needed thing stops, then I want the dialog to be closed etc. I made after much-time-needed source to .stop() the thread, but the jdialog is still there. I hope it's clear, help me asap plz :)

.stop() shouldn't be used. It might not even work anymore. You need to create your first design in concurrency :) You will have to wait on some lock after you put the "please wait" screen. Your other Thread (could be the AWT) will then change a condition and notify.. (with notifyAll().. bad names ... another story) The waiting Thread. Past the wait loop will be the code to dispose of the dialog... sound fun? I think it is, I love concurrent designs.

Search field stays highlighted, can't use spacebar, etc... Help!

This is so very annoying.
A lot of the time I can't use the space bar to start or stop tracks because the highlight, (blue), stays locked on the search filed.
No matter where I click in iTunes, (tracks playlists, etc.), the highlight stays there...
If I do a search it stays there. If after a search I choose a track I want, and hit the spacebar, the search clears and is replaced by a space, (just as one might expect.) This has been happening, on and off for a while, and with different versions of Lion. (Pre 10.7.2, etc.)
I say, "on and off," because sometimes when I relaunch iTunes, the highlight will no longer be locked on the search filed, and I can use the spacebar for play/pause.
But then inexplicably it comes back to this same state of keeping the search field highlighted no matter what I do.
Btw, this state may also continue, even after a restart, though typically if I launch and quit enough times it will go away.
However, once highlighted, it will never go away while iTunes is open.
Any ideas?

Using MovieClips, etc. inside of buttons?

Hi.
I created a movie clip (let's call it "mysymbol") that contains several buttons, as well as functions for MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_OUT events ("mover" and "mout"). Everything works when the mouse enters "mysymbol" for the first time (mover is being called), but if I move the mouse inside mysymbol to another button, the MOUSE_OUT function (mout) is being called first and then immediately mover. Obviously, I don't want there to be any function calling at all! I have found a way to circumvent this, but since I'm new at this I struggle to get it to work properly:
If mysymbol is a button instead of a movie clip, then I can move my mouse freely within mysymbol without triggering any MOUSE_OVER or MOUSE_OUT events. However, there is another problem: I somehow can't get movie clips to work inside a button (I assume this is by design), so how do I get my animations etc. to work inside this button?
Or is there an alternative to using a button as a container?

Edit: Hmm, using a buttons inside of buttons seems to be a bad idea either way - my "fix" only worked with ActionScript2, but since I'm using AS3 that is of no use to me. ... HELP!
