Using Multiple Currencies

I am in the process of implementing Oracle Financials and came
across a real stumbling block...any help would be greatly
appreciated.
It seems that the transaction from start to finish has to be in
the same currency. When the PO is entered in a certain
currency, the invoice has to be matched in the same currency and
the payment must be made in that very same currency.
Someone else must have run into this elsewhere. How do you
handle getting an invoice in a different currency than what is
on the PO? Do you have to change one or the other or have you
found an acceptable work around?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the reply.
The 3rd currency is listed as "group at group".  We are using the standard method of 10 (local), 30 (group) and 31 (group at group).  Both 30 and 31 currencies are USD and since we are using a single controlling area for all company codes, it is expected to reflect "USD" in the title for all entities on the extra 2 currencies.  As additional information, I will tell you the only expected difference between currencies 30 and 31 is that 30 can include intercompany profit, while 31 is designed to exclude intercompany profits and will be used for purposes of consolidations.  No custom currenices are being used.

  • Financial Plan in Multiple Currency

    Hello,
In the HTML screens I want to create Budget Lines using Multiple Currencies. This means create a line in USD for a certain Task and for the same Task create also an Euro line. I've checked the Multiple Currency option at the Financial and Workplan also added each Currency to the Work - and Financial Plan. Still I'm not able to enter Budgte Lines in other than the functional currency USD. Can someone help me out on this one or send information how this functionality has to be ste up in Release 12?

First you need to do setup for the Multiple Currencies under "Plan Settings" Tab of Planning Options. Check "Plan Amounts in Multiple Currencies" check box and in the "Currency" Tab select the different currencies like EURO and give the rate.
Now go to your Budget Lines and add 1 budget line using your default USD currency. Now select that Budget Line which you have created using your Default Project Currency and also select "Add Currency: EURO" from the Drop Down List of "Select Planning Elements" and press GO button. This will create another Budget Line using EURO Currency. Now enter the Quantity & Cost and see the difference of Cost Calculation.
I hope it's clear for you.
    Regards,
    Khan.

  • Multiple currencies in basic pay

    Hi all,
our client keeps uses the basic pay infotype only as information (no payroll). They want to be able to use multiple currencies in the different wage types (e.g. one in USD, the other in EUR).
    Is this possible ?
    thanks in advance !

I too agree with our friend.
It is not possible to use two different currencies in Basic Pay.
I think it not possible in SAP standard.
i assume your client is using IT0008 for reporting purpose to solve this You can create 'Z' table pass IT 0008 values to that table. Write reports based on that table.

Oracle Payables User Guide 2 – 150 에 아래와 같은 내용이 나와 있습니다.
    Multiple Currency Payments :
Enable this option if you want to use
this bank account to pay invoices entered in multiple currencies. You
can select this option only if the Use Multiple Currencies Payables
option is enabled and if the bank account is in your functional currency.
Multiple Currency
    Payments 기능을 사용하실 수 없습니다.

  • Multiple Currencies Used in Organizational Model

    Hi,
is there any way i can maintain multiple currencies for different organizational units?
let's say, org unit A uses USD and org unit B uses EUR.
because what i understand, once i assigned the currency at the root of the organizational model, it will be inherited to all organizational units bellow.
    Thanks.
    JD

In Tcode OOATTRCUST, for your attribute, you can tweak the inheritance characteristics to be either:
I think Option O ( Local values overwrite inherited values ) should do the trick for you.
Let me know how it works!!!

  • Decimal Places in Purchasing (multiple currencies)

Is it possible to change the price field to accept more than 2 decimal places in purchasing documents (contracts/PO) in a live production system for multiple currencies ?

    Hi Raja,
No, if the said currencies already have transactions since, in SAP  the values are stored without decimals. This the warning of SAP
<b></b>In a productive system, you must not delete the currencies in use or change the decimal places. This could make amounts in documents already posted incorrect or invalid.<b></b>.
But you can denote in another way viz.
    1 Kg of material X = 0.012 / Kg
can be denoted as 100 kgs = 1.2

  • Foreign currency Payment using foreign currency bank account

    Hi,
    We have the following requirement:
    Functional currency : GBP
    Bank Account :USD
Need to make payments in CAD
Since the bank account is not in functional currency we are unable to make that multi currency payment enabled. Users do not want to create a functional currency bank account.
Now how to overcome this situation ?

Hi, I am referring to paying foreign currency (ap payments) using non functional currency bank accounts. Are you referring to payment or receipts in foreign currency ?
Please refer the in 11i ap guide
    1. pg 2-104
    "Dening Multiple Currency Bank Accounts
A multiple currency bank account is an account that accepts payments in more than one currency.
If you define a multiple currency bank account for payments, the currency of the bank account must be the same as your functional currency."
    2. Payment Formats pg 2-140
" When you define a bank account, you can only allow payment of multiple currency invoices if the bank account currency is your functional currency."
These 2 states that you can pay suppliers in foreign currency only if the bank acct currency through which you are paying is same as functional currency. But my bank account currency is different from functional currency.
Since you say you are doing , I am quite interested to find out more. Can you please let me know your currency setups on the bank and payment format.

  • Reporting Multiple Currency Rates

    Hi
Wonder if anyone has completed a report or know's a way of creating a currency report with more than one translation rate, ideally in SAP standard reports (Painter, Query or Drill-down etc).
The report is from PCA and we have GBP as the main currency. We need to submit a report in EUR with 5 (yes 5!) different exchange rates on the report.
The report layout is as follows:
    Act Act Fcst Fcst Bud
    Mth Ytd Mth Ytd Ytd
Each column has a different rate Translated from GBP into EUR.
We would ideally like to maintain the exchange rates in the standard way, so we can default them in the report, or allow the users to enter the individual rates in the selection screen.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi Shivaji,
If Kenya is you Business Area and you want all reporting at Business Area level. You need to do the following:
1.Balance sheet of kenya branch is to be prepared in INR: In OBY6 for your company code check the box Business Area in Fin Statements and make Business Area as mandatory field for all your transaction.
2.day to day transactions at kenya is to be at their currency (KES) only as per statutory requirement in kenya .
While doing transaction the transaction currency will be KES and maintain Exchange rate in OB08
3.Receipt or payment may be in KES or USD
    4. sale to nearby countries will be invoiced in their currencies & payment made by them will be in their currency or USD.
Please use the concept of Multiple Currencies.

  • Material Ledger Multiple Currency

    Hello,
We have  a problem with ML - multiple currency.
I am working in a retail company and they dont have product costing. they are using material ledger only for multiple currency.
but they never run ckmlcp. $ is company code currency and EUR is group.
here is the problem, we bought something for 15 $ (10 EUR) and after sometime the currency rate changes and when we tried to sell or transfer the material for 15 $ this time system calculates the euro side as 11 EUR. we dont have a problem with $ but our COPA reports with EUR shows this 1 EUR as loss or revenue ?
    to make it short
    buy for    15 $ (=10 EUR)
sell for   15 $ (= 11 EUR) ---> 1 EUR stays and shown as loss or revenue in COPA reports with EUR ???
i believe if we run ckmlcp system revaluates the euro side with the new currency rate but i am not sure.
One more question  can we run ckmlcp if we dont have product costing ???
    thank you..

    Hi,
I was confused at first. The multi-currency capabilities are suited to keep the historic curency information and make material valuation in parallel currencies independent from the current exchange rate
    So in your example:
buy for 15 $ (=10 EUR)          --> 10 EUR wil become the material valuation
sell for 15 $ (= 11 EUR)       --> stock value will be reduced by 10 EUR (not 11 as would the current exchange rate suggest)
But you are right for the sales price ori the CO-PA revenue in EUR. This will still use the current exchange rate and would lead to the 1 EUR profit because you have the material on stock valuated with 10 EUR but sell it with 11 EUR price.
Material ledger would not prevent the profit/loss and also not counter-post it, even if you used CKMLCP. The actual price would even after ML closing be 10 EUR and no revaluation of consumption would be necessary. The sales prices is an 'external' decision and normally not determined by material valuation, therfore the sales price will not be adapted by material ledger calculations.
Sorry, I have no proposal how to get rid of that. Search ratther in CO-PA currency conversion than in ML.
    best regards,
                        Udo

  • Multiple currencies for one minisite

We have a requirement so the different users can place orders in two different currency. Some of the customers are set up with USD and some of the customers are setup with CAD. So, when they login to istore, based on their customer Master - order management tab price list value - that currency code should default.
I added both currencies with their default price list on minisite set up under pricing menu on left. Users are able to checkout and place an order in USD. But RMAs are not working - getting error "Please contact yor sales representative".
My question is: is this possible to have two currencies work for one minisite based on customer master setup?
If yes, How can I resolve RMA issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
iStore supports multi-currencies and allows a user to switch currencies using the Global Bin.
Please details below on using the Global Bin.
    Thank You,
    Deborah Bourgeois, Oracle Customer Support
Excerpt details below are from Chapter 6 'Implementing Initial Customer Application Pages'
Oracle® iStore Implementation and Administration Guide
    11i Part No. B13549-01
    12.0 Part No. B31536-03
    12.1 Part No. E13575-02
    Global Bin
The Global Bin displays by default on the right side of the Site Home Page and other
section pages, if the current site has multiple currencies enabled. The bin allows
customers to select other currencies; when customers select a new currency, item prices
are displayed with the newly selected currency.
Important: In order for prices to display in additional currencies, the items must be set
up on a price list in those currencies. See the chapter, Implementing Pricing, page 10-1
    , for details.
To enable the Global Bin, set the profile option, IBE: Use Global Bin, to Yes. See the
appendix, Profile Options, page A-1, for more details on the profile options settings.
Just as with the Browse Bin, this profile works only if you use Fixed Layout when
creating a section. If sections are associated to Configurable Layout, then you should
map the bin using Configurable Layout for bins.
By default, the Global Bin template (STORE_GLOBAL_STORE_BIN) is mapped to the
    JSP, ibeCAcdGlobal.jsp.
    Guidelines:
    • In order to view the bin, the user's active responsibility must not be iStore Sales
    Representative (IBE_SALESREP).
    • In order to display, the site where the bin will display must have multiple
    currencies enabled.
    • In order for the Global Bin to display on the shopping cart page, the current site
    must have multiple currencies enabled.
    • When the Global Bin is mapped to the shopping cart page, changing currency in the
shopping cart page causes cart items to be re-priced in the newly selected currency.

  • Multiple currencies under one company code for contracts

    Gooday!
We have a new schenario ( In RE-FX) where we have a couple of contracts which were negotiated with the landlord that needs to be settled in Rand, whilst the company code are setup for another currency, which is dollar (caters for the bulk of the contracts). So each time you create a new contract the currency is already greyed out (Dollar), which obviously means that it cannot be changed there.
Apparently the company code can be setup in FI to accommodate secondary currencies, however, this seems not to be the case in RE-FX.
My question is this, is it possible to have multiple currency contracts under one company code in RE-FX, and if so, do one set it up in FI or RE-FX?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Conditions in Foreign Currency (New)
As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Financials, Enhancement Package 2 (EA-FIN 602), Business Function Real Estate (RE_GEN_CI_1), you can enter conditions for contracts, rental objects, or contract offers that are in a currency that differs from the local currency of the company code.
You can enter the currency directly when processing conditions. You can also enter a currency translation rule in the posting term. The rule is then used for all conditions to which this posting term is assigned.
You specify in Customizing which currency translation rules are allowed for each contract type and usage type.
    See SAP Note 123819.

  • Handling multiple currencies

We have CHF as local currency key for a consolidated unit, but we use EUR as Functional/ operating currency. Unfortunately, parallel currencies have not been activated for the consolidated unit.
How does multiple currencies are handled in SEM-BCS? One suggestion is to keep this CHF currency cons unit as a separate cons group, then do curr translate from CHF to EUR for the local cons group. Using version, copy this EUR to the main cons group and then consolidate in the main group currency USD. I have been trying to configure this but users are not happy since it involves using the option of multiple currencies and multiple versions. The users are asked to enter specific parameters like group currency key and version each time and they don't like it.
Any suggestion for handling the scenario of third currency in SEM-BCS, other than Local currency and Group Currency?

    Hi Greg,
CHF is the local currency and there is only local reporting requirement which they can do from R/3 company code anyway. For some reasons, the business is using EUR as functional currency aka primary currency for that specific consolidation unit for consolidation purpose. The group currency is USD and the final consolidated report will come in USD. EUR is just an interim currency. In other words, it is not multiple group currencies reporting.
I am using the same version 100 and try to copy from CHF to EUR, using copy function. The copy function is throwing many errors. One error is asking to provide CHF to USD conversion rate and I do not understand this logic, while I have provided CHF to EUR conversion rate.
In copy function, am I required to map and also provide badi?? (I have done mapping and also source and target selection conditions except Badi).
If you have configured copy method in the past, please advise.
