Using Pmon updates for active sessions

I have a number of Client process in a distributed system trying to lock resources and work with them. We have a application mechanism to Lock the object uysing the process Id of the CLient process and unlock later. If the process gets killed abnormally there could be dangling locks which we clean up by checking if the process exists on the remote machine using a ps, i was thinking we could use, PMONs updates in v$session ..
Is this right, that i can simply check the process ID in v$session if an entry exists it is alive if not the process is dead, is there a refresh window or some reasons where this would not be updated. Also if you see some other way to avoid doing a "ps" simply using DB related queries would help.

This same exact thing started happening to me a few days ago.
Every time I open the iPod app - I'm prompted for User/Password. I even changed my password, thinking I forgot it, and still - insists that I enter this information. If i hit OK or Cancel it just keeps asking like a never ending loop.
Eventually, when I do fill out the info, it will go away until I re-open the iPod app. This is more of an annoyance than a real issue - but if it's a bug, I hope it gets resolved.
Any support in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I've already phoned HP that was a wast of time so i will not be doing that again.
First I have never typed in any product key for any software I also have powerDVD telling me that it
can only run on authorized hardware.
Am I best to call my bank and start a Chargeback or to keep trying HP in hope of getting a product key
to use the £500+ laptop I just got of them.
I only have two days left till this laptop is useless on that day it will be sent back for a full refund

WAS Web Application Server has SAP J2EE Engine in which Web Dynpro Applications run. Software Deployment Manager(SDM) component manages deployment process.
Once you deploy WAS locally, developer will have local server very similar to Tomcat kind... which you he/she can manage.
Developer need to login to local server portal using http://server url:50000/irj/portal

Can I use 'software update' for another computer hook up via firewire?

My wife has a powerbook that has problems. I had to re-install the original software and back up her files. The problem is I can't get on the internet either hardwire or through airport. It says the password I am giving is incorrect. I have no problem getting on line with my ibook. So my idea is this, Can I hook her powerbook up to my ibook using firewire and then use software update to update her opertaing system. She has 10.2. Thanks

You can manually download the updates and copy them via firewire to the other Mac. Once the updates are on the other Mac, you can run them from there.

Ok, I'm new to the IE update that forces a user to click on

I downloaded the Dreamweaver 8.0.2 update and it indicated that it
installed successfully. I restarted my computer and opened up a
document with a swf file in it and I was not prompted to replace
the <object> tags. I went to Edit>Preferences and under
Code Rewriting, there was no Active Content section. i do not know
whats going on. So I guess I'm stuck with having to go the HTML and
.js route. Since I've only got one swf in my document, I'm using
the single method described by adobe where you name the .js file
the same as your .swf., I think?!
Also, when I insert my swf into my flash doc, it won't even
play in preview in Dreamweaver or when I hit the "play button". It
was playing earlier but not now. Just a big white square. Is it a
publish problem, directory problem, I've tired everything.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the
Dreamweaver update work? And, with the update, is that all you
need. I want to avoid all of the HTML manual modifications.

OK !!! that's it ... in that simple example, I just embedded
a flash object.... REMEMBER, once you have done ALL THE POINTS I
MARKED with //*********** Be sure you WILL COPY THE FILE
"swfobject.js" EXACTLY IN THE SAME PLACE WHERE YOUR FILE WILL BE
(ON THE SERVER) AND THAT'S IT !!!!
This example has been done even with DW 8 (before the patch
had released) so there are no excuses not to achieve it ok ?
To copy the "swfobject.js" just look for it on google, there
are plenty of places where you can download it for free. also with
examples... if you do not find it let me know...

Using local interfaces for EJB (session bean)

Hi,
I�ve a question regarding when to use the Local interfaces(EJBLocal and EJBLocalHome) of a enterprise bean. I understand that calls to enterprise bean can be made locally if the client which is invoking is in the same JVM as that of EJB. I�ve written a web client (servlet) which is packaged in a EAR and this servlet is trying to invoke a session bean which is in a �different� EAR using local interfaces. Both the EARs have been deployed in a single server (websphere 6.0 server). It didn�t work for me this way�..If I package the servlet in the same EAR of session bean then it works fine.
So is this to say that both EARs are not running on the same JVM? Or should it work even if the client and the session bean are in different EARs but in same server?
Can anyone explain me the fundamentals behind this.

Local access is only portable within the same .ear. For example, the Java EE SDK and SUN's
application servers have never supported local EJB access from a web/EJB component in a different
.ear. One issue is that local access requires that both the caller and target EJB have the same
classloader. By definition, different Java EE applications have distinct classloaders. In addition,
in Java EE 5 persistence context propagation does not span applications, so it wouldn't work in the
local case.

Can't download and use latest update for Flash CC

Hello,
I am a PC user, Windows 8.1 I can't seem to download the latest update with Flash CC. I open Creative Cloud, and try and update. It goes from 0% to 50% to 53% to failure, consistently. Tried to uninstall and reinstall and the problem persisted.

Can't Use Software Update for Quicktime

I have been trying any different things in order to update the version of Quicktime on my computer. But I keep getting this error.
Make sure you have permission to write to /Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/content/downloads/34/44/061-2834/JJKTR GcgSLYK6xc6wwtrhvFS4S6fHk2Z4L, then try again.
I have tried to repair disk permissions with Disk Utility, Drive Genius, and Disk Warrior but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Two things to try. Open /Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/ and drag its contents to a new folder on the desktop. Next, select the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate folder, CMD+I, and ensure that the owner is you and that you have R&W access. If neither of those soleve the problem, you might want to update to 10.4.8 (your settings show 10.4.4).

ILife Support 9.0.4 Update for iLife 08 ~ use Updater version or download?

I have iLife 08.
In Apple Support Downloads (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1009) this update is recommended for all users of iLife ’09, iWork ’09, and Aperture. File Size: 67.13 MB.
In my Software Update panel the iLife Support 9.0.4 download is 2.3 MB.
I gather the discrepancy in File Size is because only a teeny bit of the update from 67.13 MB download is for iLife 08.
Question:
I prefer to install updates from downloads rather than from auto-Updater, will the 67.13 MB File know to install just 2.3MB of its load or should I use the Updater for this one?

Oracle Trace File generation for a session

I am using oracle 10g(10.2.0.5) in RHEL5 server. i have used the exec dbms_system.set_sql_trace_in_session(147,3,TRUE); statement to trace a particular session. i am able to trace successfully but i have created a new table in that session where i am not able to find any create table statement in the generated trace file but i can find the insert statements which i performed on the newly created table in the trace file.
Does DDL statements not recorded in the trace events???

Delta update for deleted records

Hi,
I use delta update for my data. As destination I use ODS object and this ODS contains two keys: key1 and key2. On step of preparing data for extraction, key2 is lost(we can't determine it) - key1 is known only.
I'm finding a way how to update ODS by deleted records('D' update mode) if this records contain only key1 value(key2 is empty). I need to delete all records with key1 only, key2 is not important for this update.
Is it possible to set key2 some BW specific value, which will be accepted as equal for old key2 values ?
Or some other standart ways are known for this situation ?

I would use the update rules to read the active data table of the ODS. There you can read all the key2 values for a given key1.
If you get one row with key1 filled and key2 = '*' (for example you could split it into multiple records, one per key2. A sample coding might look like:
LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE into l_d_data_package.
IF key2 = '*'.
    DELETE DATA_PACKAGE.
    SELECT * FROM /BIC/AMY_ODS00 INTO l_d_my_ods
      WHERE key1 = l_d_data_package-key1.
      l_d_data_package-key2 = l_d_my_ods-key2.
      append l_d_data_package to DATA_PACKAGE.
    ENDSELECT.
ENDIF.

Use Redis Cache for Multiple Applications

I did some searches and could not come up with a straight forward answer so I am hoping someone here can clarify this for me.
We have two different products that we have built in .NET that we host in Azure as websites. For each of these two products we have multiple clients. Each product and client pair has its own SQL database and its own website setup in Azure.
We would like to start using Redis Cache for the session of these products. Do I need to:
1) Create 1 Redis Cache and use it for all clients / products?
2) Create 2 Redis Caches and use one per product (redis caches needed = # of products)?
3) Create an individual Redis cache for each client / product pair (redis caches needed = # of products x # of clients)?

You can do either of the above. It would really depend on how much load are you expecting on the Cache
For separation and load balancing it might be better to have a Cache per Website
For a Cache to be useful it should be closer to the Web tier, so ensure that you provision the Cache in the same region as the Website.

Mass updates for Notification/Workorder status

Is there any way for Mass update of 'status' because orders and notifications need to be un-teco before updating planner groups and work centers? we are using Mass update for IW58,IW38 & IW29 and there is no option for STATUS update.
