Suppose if i want to display the standard text "PURCHSE ORDER REPORT".
HOW CAN I USE THE FM read_text (for example header window)
could you please explain it

Hi
Create a Text element. TYPE = Include Text.
Give the following parameters
TEXT NAME = EKKO-EBELN
TEXT object = EKKO
TEXT ID =
( depends on the whch text you want to display in PO header TEXT).
( you can get this from TABLE T166K ).
Example :
SELECT SINGLE * FROM T166K INTO LS_T166K
WHERE DRUVO     = IV_DRUVO AND
BSTYP     = IS_EKKO-BSTYP AND
BSART     = IS_EKKO-BSART AND
TDOBJECT = LS_TEXT-TDOBJECT AND

If u r reading text from Purchase Order text then Object ID will be EKKO.It depends what r u reading for.Look at the following code :

Using Read_text want to print continuous text

Hi,
My requirement is to print continuous text using read_text.
Here we are not supposed to use include text to print continuosly.
For ex:The text in script is like as below

Reqirement is to ptint as Firstline Secondline by using read_text only.

If the text is as below the concatenate will not work because for the newline also it will print in the sameline.
Ex:
Firstline
Secondline
*Thirdline
O/P if we concatenate is: Firstline Secondline Thirdline
But my requirement is to print like

How to print the texts retrived by using READ_TEXT fun module in Smartform

Please tell me how to print the text which is rertrived by using the READ_TEXT function module in smartform.
I have coded all things in the program lines and in that i am retriveing the long texts.
I am getting the text lines in my internal table clearly, the thing is that I am not able to pass these lines to the text.
I have to print the trouble ticket. in that the notes log I have to pass.

There are a few ways to do it. If you need to take all of the text in the text type, in your SF text element choose "Include Text".
Populate the fields with the data that corresponds to the text type. It is similar to the interface to the FM "Read_Text.

Encase any variables with the "&" symbol.
If you have already coded the call to the FM "READ_TEXT" and loaded the text into an internal table, create a loop and loop through the itab. Inside of the loop create a text element and add a variable in the text element for the field you are looking to output.

Error while reading the Long text Using READ_TEXT

Right now I am working with Smartforms.While I am reading the Long text of the material using function module READ_TEXT I am getting the following error if the text is not there.
OUT_PURCH_PO ID GRUN language EN not found.
I should not get this error Instead I should get the blank value.

First you need to find out exactly what text that you need to get. The text headers are stored in STXH, here you can see the object, id, and name of the text. You can get the object and id by using transaction code SE75. This will list all of the text objects and the ids underneath them. The NAME is usually the key of the object. For example, for Sales Document Header Text, the name is the sales document number. Other NAMEs are a combination. For example, material memo text, It is a combination of material number and plant. To find exactly what object, id, and how the NAME is built, I usually create a text using the standard transaction. Then go to SE16, on table STXH, and do a query for "Created By" = me, and "Created Date" = today. This will give me the header record of the text that I just created. Now I can see what the Object, ID, and NAME is. With this information, you can pass to the READ_TEXT function module and get your text.

How to pull the data using READ_TEXT

I was trying to use the READ_TEXT function module to pull the data from the sales order, but i am not sure what are the values exactly i need to pass.

Since the above parameters are mandatory to get the text from sales order ... can you please suggest me. We are using customized screen ... if user enteres the data in the long text field in the customized screen - it should be updated in the sales order... how can i achieve... can any one suggest me

In READ_TEXT function module, TLINE structure has the component TDLINE with 132 characters. So, u can't read more than 132 characters. If u want to read more than that, u have to write FM of ur own which can read more than 132 characters.
