Using tab in web dynpro java

HI
I have 3 inputfields in the form.i click on the first inputfield with mouse and write something, and then when click on the tab in the keyboard then cursor will go next inputfield but i can n't write anything.how can i get this one without clicking with mouse.

Hi,
I think you have not defined th "labelFor" property of the Label. Define the labelFor property for the corresponding input field.
When you click Tab button, the control goes to next UI element. If you don't define labelFor property the control takes the label as next UI element other wise it goes to the UI element which is set in the labelFor.
Also make sure that next inputfield is in same container or it is after the last element of current container. Because the control goes to next container after navigating through all the ui elements of current container.

I had tried setting ParentCollectionRid as "\documents" and when I execute the application i get the exception stating "Exception on execution of web service with WSDL URL 'http://<URL>' with operation 'createDocument' in interface 'RepositoryFrameworkWSVi_Document'".
Also is it mandatory to set UserId and password to create new document, if yes is it an admin Id.

Error using tabs in Web Dynpro application

Hi all,
I am working on a web Dynpro application where I want to use "tabs" to display different vendor details, basically I need two tabs one for header data, one for address data. What I did is I created a group and there created the element for the user to enter the vendor number and also created a button and binded it with the BAPI, now I created a tab using tabstrip and then inserting the tab and adding the element to the tab (in my case i m using the table type), once I finish this and try to do the syntax chek i am getting this error: "ACC: Element "TAB" does not have a header"
Can you please help me with this?

Looks like i was missing some step... I deleted everything and then re created and this time it works.

IView Personalization (Web Dynpro Java) for Anonymous User

Hello All,
Is it possible for anonymous user to see iView personalization (Web Dynpro Java) when personalized by an administrator? What I did was create new role and iView making available to anonymous user. This work fine meaning I can view iView using URL http://<servername>:<port>/irj/portal/anonymous . But the personalization I made to iView using administrator mode launching iView in preview mode and then using personalization dialog by choosing Ctrl and secondary mouse button to personalize is not showing. Iu2019m currently on EP7 SP15 and using iView type Web Dynpro Java for the development component sap.com/tcsecumewdenduser application name LogonHelpApp.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Yes, the Web Dynpro for Java Personalization is working perfect for non-anonymous users. The issue is when I view same iView using anonymous URL http://<servername>:<port>/irj/portal/anonymous the personalization is not showing just defaults back to the original Web Dynpro Java application settings. The iView that I created and personalized is the new Logon Help Dynpro Java application (LogonHelpApp). Is there some permissions that restricts anonymous user to view personalization?

You should be looking into com.sap.security.api.IUserFactory, methods newUser(String) which gives you and IUserMaint and commitUser(IUserMaint, IUserAccount) -- IUserAccount can be obtained using com.sap.security.api.IUserAccountFactory, method newUserAccount(String)

How to set a variable in portal session using web dynpro java.

Hi,
I have created a web dynpro application, which is running inside portal. I have created a role called "R1". Inside role R1, i have created 3 workset W1, W2 and W3. and inside each workset i have some pages and iviews.
My requirement is when user logins to the portal , and when he clicks on role R1 for the first time, a login page should come (so that we can do revalidation), and when he enters his password again in that login page , then only workset W1, W2 and W3 should be visible/accessible to him and after successful revalidation, if he clicks again on role R1, in that particular portal session, than that login page should not come.
for this, i thought i will set a variable in portal session, whenever user successfully revalidated himself, and if after successful revalidation he clicks again on role R1, i will check in doinit method of webdynpro whether variable is set or not (which i already set on successful revalidation), and if it is set then i will do Donavigation else i will present login page to the user.
Can anyone tells me how to set a variable in portal session using web dynpro java.

BSP / Web-Dynpro (Java / Abap) what to use in this case ?

Hi all,
i have some questions about all this BSP/Web-Dynpro stuff. We have an application (for health care written in Visual Studio) out there at our customers. Some of these customers are using SAP as their backend system. So we've writte some backend functionality (a cash processing, additional reports, a special invoice system etc.etc.) in Abap and Abap-Objects. Actually we are planing a new release for this backend stuff which is using the normal SAP Gui.
Maybe we plan for the next release to convert our app to a Web based app and we discuss what SAP technology we should use for that.
Here are my questions :
- When and why should we use Web-Dynpro (Java) ?
- Can't we use BSP ?
- Is there any future for BSP ?
- When will Web-Dynpro for ABAP be released (actually we are not a Java Shop so Abap is prefered)?

If you don't mind, I am going to terminate discussion of Web Dynpro ABAP here. It is not that I want to, but we are in a difficult position with this development, and can not really discuss it too much.
But, let me first make a few (last) comments:
(*) BSP is available since WebAS 610 (which is now nearly at the end of its lifetime). WebAS 620 is the main platform out there, with NW04 (WebAS 640) now shipping, and the next product is inevitably coming. If you keep in mind that SAP supports each release at least 7 years, and we will be shipping BSP in an upcoming release, you can see that with BSP you are not going to left stranded for many years to come.
(*) Web Dynpro Java is out and shipping. A very nice development environment. You can build nice things with it.
(*) Web Dynpro ABAP: it will become a very nice product as well. We should know :). But, it will definitely not ship on NW04 platform. Which unfortunately means the next great NW shipment (both naming and date is not available).
From our experience, most people seem to make their decisions based on the available Java versus ABAP skills in the shop. However, the other factor to look at is also "pixel perfect" rendering. Only with BSP can you influence the rendering. Web Dynpro is more a development platform for business applications, and as such they must conform to the designated model/concepts, etc.

I am working on research the use of Adobe Interactive Forms in the current processes of HCM ESS MSS.
We are on ECC5.0, EP7.0, and ESS MSS SP21. We are in the midst of upgrading to ECC6.0.
Do you know where Web Dynpro Java version of Adobe Forms are used in ESS MSS are used? OR are they all in Web DYnpro ABAP version in ECC6.0?

File Visibility in uploading the file using web DynPro java

i have gone through the tutorial " uploading & downloading the file using web DynPro java".
the upload functionalty is working fine. but i need to know thw path where these files are getting uploaded ??

If yes, then answer is that the file is stored in the context of the application only as "com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielement-definitions.Resource" object. Please read through the tutorial to understand the full process.
WD doesn't really upload to server automatically unless there is any explicit code written. All it does is to store the file in a temp context which you can access and write your own code to store it in a particular location.

Attach to Mail using FileUpload UI in Web dynpro Java

I need to send a file from my system as attachment with a mail in a web dynpro java application.
I am trying to implement it by uploading the file to server using FileUpload UI and then sending the file as attachment
using java mail api which is not working at the moment.
Can anyone please suggest possible solution for this. Is there anyother approach to implement this?

Problem in completing the TASK when using Web Dynpro Java and BPM

Hi,
I am using Web Dynpro Java and BPM.
i see my Web Dynpro View when i run the process.
Just that the task is not completing.
when i click on the Web Dynpro button to signal the completion of the event, nothing happens.
i have appropriately created events in both Component controller and Interface Controller and used the same in creating the Task.
a method in Component controller fires the event and a button click in the view calls this method.
i have successfully completed Donka Dimitrova's "SAP Netweaver Business Process Management-End-to-End Process Implementation Sample " but when i tried my own with slight modifications, it is not working !!!

Hi Amol,
The way you described the things, I dont see any problems. Just to make sure that you are triggering the right event that you mapped as completion event for the task, try to cross check once again and see if the correct event is getting triggered. Also try to put some messages for debugging to see till where the control goes.
