Using TLF with SDK 3.5 - 1014 error

Hi
I have followed the steps outlined at http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/tlf/Using+TLF+with+Flex+3.2 to import TLF to user with SDK 3.5. I have verified that I have the latest swc. I get no compile erros but at runtime I get
VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flashx.textLayout.elements::TextFlow could not be found
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never use TLF with SDK 3.5.
After reading what you have said, I guess you are setting SWCs in your project as "runtime shared Library", but there is not a RSL link( or not a correct RSL link) in the configuration file named flex-config.xml in SDK 3.5, to download the SWF or SWZ successfully in the runtime. You may solve the problem by setting libraries as "merge into code"

AntiAliasing broken when using TLF with HtmlText

Hey Guys, I'm struggling with two issues using TLF within Flash CS5.
1) I'm unable to get Anti-aliasing to work when using TLFTextFields in combination with htmlText.
If I draw a TLFTextField on the stage within Flash IDE and set its Anti-aliasing to Readability then it will anti-alise correctly. If i dynamically change the .text property via AS3, then it still remains crisp, however If i change its .htmlText property Anti-aliasing is disabled and the text looks jagged.
e.g.
var tlfTxt:TLFTextField = new TLFTextField();
tlfTxt.htmlText = "Testing quick";
tlfTxt.antiAliasType = AntiAliasType.ADVANCED;
addChild(tlfTxt);
What is the best way to achieve Anti-aliasing this way?
The same happens if I set a tlfMarkup and specify a TextFlow with styling.
Also how am I able to change weight when using TextFlow? If I have Century Gothic Regular and Bold each embedded within my library, and exported for Actionscript using DF4, which works using the above htmlText example, how do I get Bold to work using the below example?

2) I'm unable to get embedded fonts to work when using TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT
I can successfully use embedded fonts when using TextConverter.importToFlow(markup, TextConverter.PLAIN_TEXT_FORMAT); however as soon as I switch to using TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT the embedded fonts no longer work. Does anyone know how to overcome this?

Tim,
I think both issues you're seeing are the same problem, as I believe the htmlText property uses the TextFieldHTML filter. But I haven't been able to reproduce either issue yet.
When I set htmlText using the same font as I specified on the stage (or I omit the font tag entirely) I'm seeing antialiased text. If I use a font in the markup that's different than what I specified on the stage I'm getting a fallback font that's antialiased. The fact that I get a fallback font (even when I specify a font I have installed) suggests to me that it's still trying to use an embedded font after the htmlText property is set.
What happens for you if you do not have a font tag in your HTML? If that looks better there may be a mismatch between font names between the markup and embedding.

HELP ...... Problem using PoolMan with SDK 1.4.0

Im using Oracle 9i JDeveloper and Win2000. Im trying using the PoolMan as my DB connection, but the error occur when i using J2SE version 1.4.0 but its work fine for J2SE ver. 1.3.1_02 (which is the default JDK used by the JDeveloper). The error msg is

its seem that the Poolman cannot find the Driver if using ver. 1.4.0... is anyone facing the same problem like me? pls give me an advices. Thanks..

Maybe you could try to first uninstall your SDK, then reset the computer and install FORTE.
As FORTE has a copy of SDK with it, it would then install it's own copy and configure everything.

Cannot Use Printer with my Photoshop CS5. Error Message.

I am encountering a problem that I never have before. When Click on File>Print I get this error message: "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents."
This happened suddenly. I had been printing with no problem just a few minutes prior. I did nothing unusual that I can recall to have caused this error message. I am using a Mac Pro using OS 10.9.5.

Pragma error when compiling with SDK X

Hi,
I am trying to compile my plugin application (which compiled fine with the previous sdk) using the SDK X, but receive errors in CAVAlert.h on the exception handler construct DURING, HANDLER, END_HANDLER.

To compile against to SDK X all I did was:
1) Used PIMain.c from the SDK X API directory.
2) Changed ACRO_SDK_LEVEL=0x00090000 => ACRO_SDK_LEVEL=0x000A0000
3) Changed the include directories to point to the new SDK X directories
Is there another directive I must add to get the plugin to compile with SDK X?

Using LabWindows with Visual C++, program going to LabWindows function instead of SDK func with same name

Hi!
I'm trying to use LabWindows with Visual C++. We mostly have it working properly, but have one problem. I want to use an SDK function that has the same name as a LabWindows function (Beep). When I call Beep with the SDK parameters, I get an error and the Visual C++ tells me I need LabWindows beep parameters. There are no LabWindows functions calls in the file. How can I get the Visual C++ compiler to use the SDK Beep and not the LabWindows Beep.

Lorrie,
There are a number of name conflicts between CVI functions and SDK functions. CVI usually handles those conflicts by redefining the function names in the CVI headers, so that when you include the CVI headers you get the CVI functions, without any compiler errors.
The problem you're having now is that you want to use the SDK version of the function. What you have to do in this case is to undo the redefinition that the CVI header file does.
To do that, find out where the CVI header file "utility.h" is being included in your source code, and then, following the include statement, type "#undef Beep"
That should allow the VC compiler to use the SDK prototype instead of CVI's.

Thanks you in advance for your answers.Looking at the 8.1.7 doc set (the oldest available on tahiti) I get no hits when searching for 'dict_from_online_catalog'. Searching the 9.2 doc set turns up a reference. Looks like you are trying to use an option that isn't available in your version of Oracle.

I have I-phone 5 with 15GB. I currently have used 12.8 GB. I get error message that storage is almost full, go to setting and mymail is 5.7 GB. Can that be how alot of my storage is being used? If so or not any advise?

Error while using Send With Document service

Hi,
I am using the send with document email service, and trying to pass an attachment (a text document). When i invoke the process using java component i get the following error:
com.adobe.workflow.engine.PEUtil logFailedFaultRouting An exception was thrown with name com.adobe.idp.dsc.email.SendMailFailedException message:Failed to send email to mail server: null:25. Cause: null while invoking service EmailService and operation sendWithDocument and no fault routes were found to be configured.
Can someone give me an idea of how to resolve this issue?

From the exception fragment it is complaining that your email properties are not set correctly. In this case the email server name is resolving to null. Make sure they are all set up correctly. The no fault routes just means you have no route in your workflow to handle any errors/exceptions.

We are using pppd with chat script to establish a connection.

Use "Exec" in your query to run procedures.

Triggers are not supported in SDK.

Preverification Error while using kXML with Netbeans IDE

Hello All,
I am using Netbeans IDE for wrting a program that parses a xml using
kXML and display some results on screen.
The Netbeans IDE gives the various obfuscation levels.
The code is properly compiled at any level less than the
highest obfuscation level. If I compile it at HIGH obfuscation level then it gives the following error-----
Error preverifying class e
VERIFIER ERROR e.a(Ll;)Lorg/kxml/kdom/Element;:
Cannot find class org/kxml/kdom/Element
D:\Netbeans_Workspace\TestObfuscation\nbproject\build-impl.xml:269: Preverification failed with error code 1.
BUILD FAILED (total time: 4 seconds)
How can we obfuscate the program using highest level of obfuscation.

But I am facing the same problem even when I use the source java files of kXML and include those in my project and use them as additional classes to my class.
It again builds properly when I don't use the highest obfuscation level.
But if I try to obfuscate using Level HIGH it throws the same error.
However when I try to run this project from J2ME Wireless Toolkit, it is running fine on the emulator.
I guess the error is something specific to Netbeans IDE. Have anyone of you encountered such a bizzare error.
