Using "today" when making an iCal appointment in Day view gets it wrong.
When I view iCal in Day view and click on the '+' to make a new appointment, it doesn't get "today" correct. For example, assume it's November 16 and I'm viewing November 20 in Day view. If I click the '+' and then type "Run at 12:30 today" and appointment is recorded at 12:30 on November 20th, not today. However, if I'm using the Week view and type the same thing, it goes on November 16. If I type "Run at 12:30 tomorrow", the appointment is made for November 17th. Seems that iCal interprets "today" differently depending upon what view is selected. However, "tomorrow", "day after tomorrow", and "yesterday" are all relative to the current day, regardless of the view.

I've been living with this bug for 3 years, always thinking that it was so obvious certainly Apple would fix it with the next revision. I can't believe that something so obvious could go on through three major OS revisions:
In the Finder, the relative date "day" is often given as "Today" when in fact it was several days ago. You get the correct answer from "Get Info". Am I the only that has ever noticed this, or have all other Mac users simply learned to live with it?

the display of the information about a file in the
Finder is not not updating dynamically.
Even though the answer was no, what you say is still true. The Finder is not updating dynamically as it obviously should.
While the
Finder does dynamically show the addition or deletion
of files, probably for performance reasons, it won't
check to see if a file has been modified until it
"needs to", which is when you select the item.
Selecting the item does not usually help. Also, I happen to know that there are simple API available to get the contents of a directory and their attributes, and given that < 100 items will fit in a window, this could be done in the blink of an eye.

I hadn't heard about this utility, but its existence proves that this is indeed a problem which others have seen. We shouldn't have to install a third-party utility to fix a simple bug that has been around for three years.
Mark, thank you for helping me to confirm this bug. I've now reported this bug to Apple, and encourage others to do the same! I'll end with this quote from Rainer Brokerhoff's web page, which explains one method which Apple could use to fix this bug:
"In Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther), parity with FreeBSD 5 introduced the so-called kqueue mechanism...and the Finder doesn't use it. I suppose Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) will implement that..."

When I run ical on my mac I get the error:

The request for account “Yahoo!” failed.

When making a call, sometimes, my iPhone 5 , gets stuck on 'Calling' than I have to press END..but still nothing happens, than when I press HOME button, the call app keeps running in the background and it keeps saying CALLING... than I have to wait 2 - 3 minutes and call again.

You all just sold us a bad piece of equipment and have us by the tail with our contracts so none of us can get a new phone without paying full price or re-upping our contract. For the first two: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Cmd+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
Firefox menu > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Here you can individually remove them. Then try reloading the page and logging back in. Does that help? -
Error in Calculated Column (using Today) in DataSheet View
I have a calculated column which display's the value based on the difference between today and requested date field.

This is working fine in SharePoint Standard View. But the same is not working with the datasheet view . The calculated column is showing as below

You have metioned in your post that there is some tricks in using today() function. I have created seperate Today_Date column in my list. And Used the same column name in finding difference between 2 days. Here also the same problem exists.

i hope someone gets this who can help me. i don't find anything helpful in the help section of icloud. i'm using my 4th generation itouch for about 3 weeks with the ical. but today when i tried to edit an event or add an event a window would pop up and say "event can't be saved" or "no calendar chosen" or something like "this event doesn't belong with this calendar" and stuff like that.

Hi I use my phone for conference calls and use the microphone jack to connect to speakers. It doesnt work when making phone calls but when i play music on the phone the jack works with the external speaker.

I have Windows 7, Microsoft Outlook and PSE 13. I have used the "Share photos as embedded images" feature frequently, but today when I went to use it, it wasn't there, only the option to send email with files attached. How do I get back the ability to send emails with photos embedded. I like adding the frames and backgrounds and I think it's easier for recipients to look at the photos. Thanks for any suggestions of things to try.
GailI had a similar problem in that my wife's iphone 5 could not send pics with imessage. Had to set the settings to default to SMS or whatever. After laboring many hours on the web I coincidentally was on the phone with the internet people to question my internet speed. They changed the router channel, which is something that I am capable of doing myself. After that, the pics go over imessage. My own Iphone didn't have the problem. We are both latest IOS 7.0.6.

I use Iphoto as my primary download tool, then drag images into Adobe Bridge. Just today, when I tried to open a photo by clicking a thumbnail, all I got was an image of an exclamation mark and I couldn't drag the shot either. These are images I've successfully opened and dragged before. I would love guidance from anyone who knows a fix for this. Thanks! John
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
What version of iPhoto?
As Larry says, your workflow doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you're using iPhoto only for downloading then you're best off using Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) and just keep the whole database element out if it. If you're using iPhoto also to organise, then what are you using Bridge for? Anything you do in Bridge - or Photoshop - is unavailable in iPhoto if you work this way.

I have CS2 and I use it almost every day.. Today when I tried to launch it, a prompt came up saying my Activation was no longer valid and it closed automatically. Then when I tried to re-open it, a prompt came up saying "A serious error has occured" Please re-install the software... I have no idea where my software is... That was many many years ago? HELP!!
When you go to the download page, you must do two things:
Download this file: PhSp_CS2_English.exe on the download page.
Use the serial number on the download page in order to install your non-activation copy.
Do not use your old CD or serial number. It no longer works.
If you have Windows 7, the advice is to turn off UAC and run the installer as Administrator.
