Trying to do my taxes.

Trying to do my taxes...had put my appts on calendar to keep track...now when I go back to 2013 calendar none of my appts are there. How can I get them back?
I didn't think this would be an issue...it shows B-Days but not what I put in. Help!

Check the other settings. Mail,contacts,calendars, iCloud, calendar on. Go back under calendars to make sure your default calendar is selected. Beyond that, I can't think of any reason why your entries are not showing. I had mine set to sync last 6 months once. When I changed to to sync all I got everything back. I have everything back to when I first got my iPad in 2012.

Confused: You say nothing will "catch" in the slot, which I take to mean the optical drive won't accept anything. Just spits it out. Then you say you thought there was an eject button to push, which would imply there's a stuck disc inside.
If it's the latter, try holding down the mouse while booting.

Trying to install turbo tax. It says I need os x 10.6 or newer. I have 10.4

I need some assistance. I am trying to install turbo tax 2012. I have been using it for years. It says I need OS X 10.6 or newer. I currently have 10.4.11. There are not updates available. do I have to upgrade? or what other suggestions do you have?

What year, screen size, CPU speed is your iMac?
To run the H & R Block software, you need to upgrade your OS X to 10.5 Leopard.

We need your iMac specs to determine whether or not you can install OS X 10.5.
You need to find a source for the original black retail install DVD disc.
Unfortunately, these are hard to come by and will be more expensive than Apple's original $129 U.S.D. price.

Trying to print my tax return but instead of printing - it brings up Set Up Fax. I don't want the fax, never use it. It only does this with my etax return. I ask to print and it brings up the fax set up. HP C309a series. And this is what I select to print. What the! Please help anyone?

Chain saw type noise while trying to load Turbo Tax.

I was preparing to do my taxes and when the Turbo Tax disc was being installed some strange noises I liken to a chain saw was going on. After the installation was done done the noise stopped but the application could not be opened. I used this same program last year and had no problem. It sounds like some hardware problem has developed. Everything else works O.K., except for the computer running on the slow side. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

Well, first run [Whatsize|http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/13006] to see how big your individual files are, then look at what you have used i the last couple of months, and move what you don't use to en external drive, so it will be available in case you have made a mistake and moved something you don't need.
You can also speed up your computer by emptying the caches (particularly your browser cache) using OnyX and remember to empty your trash in all your identities. Doing all this should speed up your machine.
Remember, before you install Leopard, remove all peripherals (other than keyboard and mouse) and repair permissions before and after installing.

2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.

You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

Trying to install Turbo Tax (not the first year) and it says I have zero KB available. I have 8GB of memory installed.

How can I be out of application memory? What can I do to fix this? TIA

Ok, I think we have been talking past each other or not really understanding what each other is talking about.
When you say you have 8 GB installed and 5.93 GB free, you must be referring to the memory, and I was interpreting this as hard drive storage space.
My copy of TT (Premier) says it needs 1 GB memory and 360 MB storage space...so yours should be similar depending the edition you are using.
The hard drive storage space should not be an issue unless you have your hard drive completely full so we will ignore that.
Now TT wants to see 1 GB of memory available, but for some reason is not recognizing the 5.93 GB you report as available. So, go to Finder > Applications > Utilities (may be Other on some systems) > Activity Monitor and double click to open. Click the button top center of the window for memory and see what the numbers are in the lower portion of the window. The Wired, Active and Inactive should add up to the Used amount. Which then leaves the Free number (mine says 5.85 GB at the moment) using only Safari and Activity Monitor and the Mac OS X stuff.
Keep Activity Monitor open and reinsert the TT DVD and try to install, since that is what you said was not working. As a sanity check: do you have Mac OS X 10.6.8 as your equipment says you have? TT has to see at least that Mac OS X version.

Calculation of Tax Depreciation - India

We are following the New GL Accounting setup to our US based client in India.
My Leading Ledger (US) is Jan u2013 Dec and Non-leading Ledger (India) is April u2013 March.
We also created different Fiscal Year variants (Year Dependent) as S1 and IN for both the Co codes.
I have defined and activated Non-leading ledger for India Company code.
All the transactions were posting correctly as per Leading and Non-leading ledgers except Tax Depreciation in Fixed Assets.
I was able to post correct depreciation for India Company Act Depreciation area with a stated percentage. But the Tax depreciation area calculation is incorrect.
Required Depreciation Calculation for Tax Depreciation Area as below:
For Acquires & Additions:
Rule1: If it is >=180 days (as per Non-leading ledger Fiscal year) the system should calculate depreciation as stated percentage. Eg: 10%
Rule2:
If it is <180 days (as per Non-leading ledger Fiscal year) the system should calculate depreciation of 50% on stated percentage. Eg: Stated percentage is 10%, then it should be 5%.
I already copied India standard setting IT & NL to my fiscal year variant in Calender assignments of Period controls. But when I tried to post the Tax Depreciation in the month of March as per Non-leading ledger, the system is calculating full Depreciation as per Rule1 instead of 50% of stated Percentage in Rule2.
Can any one of you kindly advice how to setup the Multi levels methods and Period controls for Tax Depreciation key in Indian Tax Depreciation area as per above requirement. I have been working on this since one week. Please help me.

In your multi-level method line 1 put Acq yr = 9999, Year = 999, Per = 6, Percent = 50
line 2 put Acq yr = 9999, Year = 999, Per = 12, Percent = 10
Now what i dont understand from your question is that is this rule for the first acquisition year only?
If so, also try with Acq yr = 9999, Year = 1 (so only the first acq yr will get calculated based on the percentage).
Try this in your sandbox and let me know if it works or not!!

I can not find Turbo Tax files on my Mac

My files have disappeared:(
I am trying to do my taxes on my IMac, as I did last year, but all the Data files have misteriously disappeared. I have performed several spotlight searches. I have searched for files ending .tax, I have searched my application, I have done everything I can think of, but all the files are gone! We don't use the computer all that often other then to surf net. I have looked under all user accounts and as adminstrator. Any Ideas? Per the Turbo Tax it should be saved in the Documents Section. But it is not there.

FindAnyFile allows you to search for all files on your harddrive. Do the search from an administrator account. Hold down the option key then click on return.
You should have all your important information backup ( a second copy of ). Get a flash drive, external hd, or copy to cd/dvd. post a new question about backing up your machine. How much do you wish to spend $10 to $150.
