Using toString for substring of integer

First post. New to OOP and in my first week of learning Java. Playing around with different class/methods and functions in the API, trying to get a feel for implemetation in code.
Let's say I want to get the length of int iNumber and put it in int iLength. I know I can do this:
iLength = Integer.toString(iNumber).length();
Where Integer.toString(iNumber) creates the string object and then I can invoke the string length method.
Expanding on that, I'm trying to figure out why the compiler is complaining about "incompatible types" on this one (where strTemp is char):
strTemp = Integer.toString(iNumber).substring(1,1);
as well as this, where iTemp is integer:
iTemp = Integer.toString(iNumber).substring(1,1);
Again, total newbie, so apologies if I'm missing something obvious.

Or you could have daisy-chained another method.
strTemp = Integer.toString(iNumber).substring(1,1).charAt(0);Or use charAt directly.
strTemp = Integer.toString(iNumber).charAt(0);Also, you should read the API for the substring method and what the parameters do. (1,1) will not produce the results you were expecting.

Accessing knowledge management documents using webdynpro for java

Dear all,
iam having some documnets in KNLOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT documents folder in portal using webdynpro for java clicking on a link means perner(employee no) i should get that perpicular employee number documents.
examples documents are stored like this in knowledege management folder 20016319.pdf , 20016397.pdf , 20016398.
how to access those employee using webdynpro for java for perticular employee number if i want 20016319

To get the Employee ID you have to create a Adaptive RFC Model (call BAPI) which will return you the employee pernr, for this

Getting outOfMemory while using Xpath for 6MB file

Problem:
This code works fine for xml files < 6MB, but its giving outOfMemory for 6MB and above file.
I have tried with -Xms256m -Xmx512m option.
Please suggest the work around , or any modification to code that will resolve my problem.

How can i use Progressbar for loading data to DataGridView using DataTable

I have a datatable which have 3 columns and set this datatable to be datasouce of datagridview.
I want to add 100000 rows into this table while
table is adding , I want Progressbar to calculate and show the remaining
percentage.

How to use string functions (substr or ltrim or replace) in OLAP universe.

cost element (0COSTELMNT) - 10 CHAR
Controlling area (0CO_AREA) - 4 CHAR
[0COSTELMNT].[LEVEL01].[[20COSTELMNT]].[Value]
cOST ELEMENT is compounded/prefixed with Controlling Area. I just want to see cost element without conrolling area in the BO report.
Currenlty BO unierse is build based on bex query. I am able to suppress the compounding object in bex query by chaning controlling area to 'No display'. But still BO Webi report displaying compounded values in the report. (Bex report works as expected)
eg: Current display in reort.
controlling area/cost element.

In fact SAP BW MDX supports limited string manipulation and only with NAME and UNIQUENAME attributes.
Here are some samples that you can use in universes:

Could you please kindly help me?
I am using TOAD FOR ORACLE to export a table to flat file A. The tool just supports to distinguish fields by "spaces".
And the web page of ORACLE DATABASE 10G EXPRESS to import the data from flat file A to another database. To load data to a table from a text file, the web page bases on "comma" to distinguish fields.
So could you have any suggestion for me? I need to export data via TOAD FOR ORACLE. And then import it to another database by the home page of ORACLE DATABASE 10G EXPRESS or sqlplus.

Dont use TOAD for exporting your data. Use PL/SQL. Below is the code given in Asktom.com that does what you want.

(Hence if the number is true then number comes back or it says no rows)
and also id non numberic it should also be tested.

the where clause looks at all three spaces to make sure values are correct (given number or non-numberic values only)
(Hence if the number is true then number comes back (meaning true)
or it says NO rows)
If value is non numeric, test it to allow non numberic also.
I am completely unsure about it but tried this

Using BlockingQueue for Producer - Consumer

I am trying to use the BlockingQueue in a Producer-Consumer
pattern instead of creating a Q and using wait() and notify().
The output what I want is:

Nothing to do with the queue, in your producer you're incrementing i twice, once after seting putValue, again after queuing the item.

Binding an array of integers using OCI for WHERE IN clause

Is it possible to bind lists of integers using OCIBindByPos(), for use with a WHERE IN clause?
In our application, we very often have statements like this:
SELECT ...
WHERE col1 IN (3, 54, 65, 76, 112, 232, 343)where the number of integers in the list is variable.
These lists sometimes can become very large (several thousands of entries); Oracle ADDM then indicates that these statements are hard to parse and recommends to use bind variables instead.
Is is possible to change the statement into something like
SELECT ...
WHERE col1 IN (:1)and to bind the integer list using OCIBindByPos()?
Or is there an even better way to do this? (Please note: the integer list is not the result of a previous SELECT statement, i.e. we cannot use joins or subqueries here.)

How can I move an email from a users main mailbox to a shared mailbox using apps for office. I know I can do this manually but i am creating an for owa/outlook that would be a button to move the item. I have tried using ews but can only find

Can I create a xml that would would do this? Is there a way to do it using the EWS service reference. I do not want to use import/export to do this.

yes I was able to make it work using Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data and writing it as a web API, however i am unable to to authenticate the user if it is hosted on another server (without them retyping their password. I assume that
their is a matching java script version of what i am doing on the api side. I am just stuck trying to figure it out. the below code works as a Web Api if i could authenticate the user.

I cannot scroll using Firefox. I can scroll in I.E. and Chrome. This is a new problem. I've used Firefox for years.

Using my mouse pad scroll feature I cannot scroll in Firefox. I've been using Firefox for years and never had a problem before. I can scroll in Chrome and I.E. There are a few websites I can scroll in but not in Yahoo and several other sites. and I can't scroll on the page I'm typing this question on.

Try to modify the pref ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled on the about:config page from the default value -1 to 0 or 1 to see if that makes the scroll pad work.
Close and restart Firefox after changing the pref.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)

Not going to happen the way you want it to.
When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.
