Using Tubular(jquery plugin) on muse

I'm trying to put a full screen video as a background on a page that i'm building with muse.
I found about Tubular...which seemed pretty simple to use. this is their website
http://www.seanmccambridge.com/tubular/
so after i uploaded all of the scripts to my server,  i putted these into head tag of the index page;
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/swfobject/2.1/swfobject.js"></script>
          <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.3.min.js"></script>
          <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="js/jquery.tubular.js"></script>
<script>
$(function(){
          $('body').tubular('SHRUT_FpMBs','backmovie');
</script>
and in the body tag,
  <div id="backmovie">
</div>
as it shows in their descrtion,but it didn't work.
I mean the whole  site works fine. it's just that Tubular never displays the background video.
I tried to find out what was the problem and when  deleted these texts, which was the JS-include of the bodysection, out of my index page, Tubular started to work perfectly.
But obviously contents that were generated from Muse, such as Lightbox presentation, no longer shows up in a proper manner.
<!-- JS includes -->
  <script type="text/javascript">
   if (document.location.protocol != 'https:') document.write('\x3Cscript src="http://musecdn2.businesscatalyst.com/scripts/1.1/jquery-1.7.min.js" type="text/javascript">\x3C/script>');
</script>
  <script type="text/javascript">
   window.jQuery || document.write('\x3Cscript src="scripts/1.1/jquery-1.7.min.js" type="text/javascript">\x3C/script>');
</script>
I really want to display youtube videos as a background... are there any options that i can try? (using muse)
here is the actual site

Thank you !

never mind! i figured it out. my Jquery version was too old !

  • Iweb and jquery plugin

    Hi, Im trying to use a jquery plugin for my iweb site similar to what is detailed here: http://www.unwrongest.com/projects/airport/.
    Being a new user is there anybody that can help me so that i am able to have an airport information board style banner on my site? How do i do it? The details although it says are very simple, seem a bit complicated to me! Do i use html snippet for this? What code do i input to get it to work?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I think there should not be any issues to do that way. You need of course test it carefully.
    You can run stuff after IR refresh also on Apex 3.2.
    See e.g. this post
    Apex 3.2 hook javascripts to IR and execute those when report is refreshed
    I have included that to my jQuery "plugin" for Apex 3.2

  • Simple way to insert  custom Jquery Slideshows and Plugins in Muse

    Hi guys, I know the Adobe Muse team is working hard to make this revolutionary tool better by the day. They have done a lot of foundation work to get this tool up to this state. I say congrates guys keep the good work on.
    But before we get to the promised land. I know a lot of 'creative non-coders' still want to take up the challenge of doing some cool stuff spread around the internet nowadays such as jquery fullscreen image slideshow, fullscreen image jquery sliders, etc. But Muse is not there yet. I believe the next release will enable designers to take advantage of the height feature missing right now(I just believe so, no insider hint, please don't quote me.).
    Okay let me not bore you.
    Now I have noticed you can bring any slideshow into Muse if you have the bravery to do it. It's so simple. See this: www.dynamicarchitecturaldesign.com.
    The slideshow was a backstretch jquery plugin with some custom javascript to load the page before displaying the page.
    The trick is,  follow the instruction provided by the author of any of this script, especially the ones relating to the jquery-1.4min.js... jquery-1.7.min.js... upto the latest version that could possibly be available. Note: Adobe Muse also have almost the latest version of the jquery plugin. So after authoring your stuff in Adobe Muse, export as HTML then move and replace any of the code provided by the author of the code you intent to use with the one that Muse generates always:
    <script src="http://musecdn.businesscatalyst.com/scripts/1.1/jquery-1.7.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    This is often placed toward thge bottom section before the closing </body> and </html> tags. Move it up to the head section using notepad or DW. Though this is not the intended workflow by the Muse team, but it gives you the edge to do stuff you want to do.

    Okay Maurya, am suggesting the Muse dev team can take a cue from the edge team. In the publishing setting of Edge their is an option for Framework via CDN! Introducing this feature into Muse will go along way to enhance the workflow of psuedo-developers using Muse  to cut down on web design time.  if I have some jquery codes for slideshows and so on that I have lifted from some places or purchased on the internet, I can conveniently place the codes as usual where they need to be and on export  indicate to Muse whether I want it to include its own code:
    "http://musecdn.businesscatalyst.com/scripts/1.1/jquery-1.7.min.jswhich has been further modified in the new beta 2 release as:
    <script type="text/javascript">
       if (document.location.protocol != 'https:') document.write('\x3Cscript src="http://musecdn.businesscatalyst.com/scripts/1.1/jquery-1.7.min.js" type="text/javascript">\x3C/script>');
    </script>
    in the export and during publish (a publish setting kinda of could be added to the preference area) or use my own framwork that I have included in the head section. So Muse will not include the above jquery musecdn...  in the publish version. That way you are giving us more control and winning more developers over to Muse and of course more money for Adobe . • How do I go about embedding a jquery plugin into the building process of Adobe Muse?

    How do I go about embedding a jquery plugin into the building process of Adobe Muse?

    Many of the "Edge" fonts offered in Muse for web font use are available as open source fonts from Google or other sites like Font Squirrel. For example, a company may want to use the Exo typeface in their logo. You can use Exo as a web font within a web site created in Muse. For general graphics work, like creating a logo and other branding work, the same typeface can be installed as a system font from the sources I mentioned.
    The newest version of Muse will now allow you to use SVG graphics -a vector-based graphics format for the web. SVG objects can be scaled to any size without showing pixel jaggies. You can create vector-based type objects using any system font in Adobe Illustrator or other similar applications capable of saving SVG. Within Illustrator you can creatively manipulate those type objects, or do subtle things like adjusting letter spacing, then output it as an SVG image. I don't particularly care for the default letter spacing of many web fonts, so SVG is a fairly decent alternative.
    Most new web browsers support SVG properly. Old versions of Internet Explorer (8 and earlier) and some older mobile web browsers don't support SVG without user-installed plug-ins. Those web browsers are disappearing quickly.

  • Using plugins in Muse

    I find muse a very good software but i feel there are a lot missing like there are a lot of different style of things in jQuery and tons of plugins are also available , if you have something on your mind which is unique, i find doing that in muse is difficult, would be great if there’s any option to add plugins to muse.

    For example: i like the anchor feature, but i don't like the way its ease. I want smoother easing but i don't see any option to control page scroll easing.

  • Photogallery jQuery plugin doesn't show thumbnails

    I have built 2 sites using Adobe Business Catalyst. Both use the built in photogallery which is a jQuery plugin. The first is HTML4. The second is HTML5.
    The HTML4 site runs perfectly on all iOS devices. The HTML5 site, doesn't show the thumbnails. Oddly, I noticed if I click on the blank page, it DOES trigger the image in the lightbox, so the link IS hot.
    I have tons of experience cross browser/platform checking for desktop, but I don't know where to begin for mobile/tablet. Of course, I need it FAST! Where do I start?
    thanks,
    mookie

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Installation of a Jquery Plugin

    Can someone explain to me how to install one of these plugins?
    http://plugins.jquery.com/freezeheader/
    https://github.com/jmosbech/StickyTableHeaders
    Isn't JQuery installed by default within apex? I have version 4.1.0.00.32. Anyway I cannot find any instructions on how to complete this task other than ones saying "initialize the plugin" or "include it in your project". I have no idea where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi Steve,
    Firstly, jQuery plugins != APEX plugins
    Many jQuery plugins that define drop-down menus etc would need to follow a process similar to this

  • Edge Animate loading jquery twice. External jquery plugin error.

    I recently created an interactive map (http://www.lakesofbellaterra.com/Interactive_Map_Demo/Testing/test1.html) using Edge Animate CC  2014.1.1 Release. I used the zoom.min.js plugin from jQuery Zoom to achieve the zooming image effect present when you click on one of the map section and reveal the "section modal". Further more the zoom.js plugin uses jquery 1.7.1. I am deploying this Edge Animate project in a Business Catalyst site using a content holder. Even though the zoom.js plugin works with Internet Explorer 7+ and Firefox I initially was not able to get the zoom.js plugin to work in either browser. After changing the <meta> in the <head> to <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=10,chrome=1"> via suggestion from StackOverflow (internet explorer - What's the difference if <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge"> exists or not? - Stac…)  I was able to get the zoom image function to work in Internet Explorer 9+. So now I just need to get this function working in the current version of Firefox 35.0.1.  As of now when I click on the zoom image nothing happens. The console in firebug reports the following JS related errors:
    Using //@ to indicate sourceMappingURL pragmas is deprecated. Use //# instead jquery.min.js:1
    The character encoding of a framed document was not declared. The document may appear different if viewed without the document framing it. LOBT-IxD-SectionMap_edge.js

    The character encoding of a framed document was not declared. The document may appear different if viewed without the document framing it. jquery.zoom-min.js
    Use of getPreventDefault() is deprecated.  Use defaultPrevented instead.
    After some research I found a lead (WordPress › Support » how to prevent jquery loading twice?) That suggested that Edge Animate may be loading jquery twice, and that may be the source of the errors. I need to find out why this animation is not working in Firefox.
    Here is a list of things I have already tried that did not work:
    -Changing the utf charset to : <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8">
    -Changing the version of jquery used from 1.7.1 to the latest release of 1.11.2
    -Changing the image source referenced in the zoom.js call from a .svg to a .png
    -Removing any scripts that may conflict with Edge Animate or zoom.min.js that are being called from within the Business Catalyst page template.
    -Running the project outside of Business Cataylst to see if the error persists (it does)
    Here a link to the Edge Animate project: Dropbox - LOBT Interactive Section Map
    As always any help is determining why Edge Animate projects with a zoom.js plugin do not work in Firefox 35.0.1 would be most appreciated.

  • When using APEX.jQuery() - Syntax...?

    Hi,
    I have migrated to Apex 4.02 and had an old jQuery Version running on 3.2.
    Now I have learned that I can use the build in jQuery Libs which load not all UI functionality but additional UI components can be loaded from the APEX - Lib.
    I have read that APEX renamed its jQuery implementation to APEX.jQuery().
    I have thrown away my old jQuery Libs ( only the standard APEX jQuery Libs are loaded ), but my jQuery invokes are still working with $().
    So when do I have to use the syntax APEX.jQuery() and why is $() still working...?
    Thanks, Juergen

    Hi,
    I also want to add my 2 cents. See it as recommendation from the APEX development team. :-)
    So the question is, when to use jQuery/$ and when to use apex.jQuery? Actually it depends where you use it!
    That might at first hand be confusing, especially because as some of you already know, as long as you don't include your own version of jQuery, the JavaScript variables jQuery, $ and apex.jQuery are all the same. So it looks like that it doesn't matter that much, but actually it's very important if you upgrade your application/plug-in to a newer version of APEX.
    We try to stay up-to-date with the included version of the jQuery library when we release a new version of APEX. So for APEX 4.1 it's very likely that we include jQuery 1.5. As you can see from the change log of the jQuery project they also sometimes make changes which breaks existing functionality. To minimise your risk when you upgrade to a newer version of APEX you should follow the following recommendations.
    JavaScript code in your Application:
    If you want to use jQuery in your own JavaScript code in an application we recommend to use jQuery or the shortcut $.
    Why:
    1) If you upgrade APEX there is the potential that the newer jQuery version breaks your existing code. To avoid intensive testing and rewriting your application to the new jQuery version you can just include the old jQuery library into your page template and you are done. The variables jQuery and $ will point to your own jQuery version and not the one shipped with APEX. No additional code changes necessary. That will help to minimize your risk of upgrading to a newer version of APEX.
    2) You need a newer/older version of jQuery in your application because one of the jQuery plugins which you want to use just works with that version. In that case just include the newer/older jQuery library into your page template and the variables jQuery and $ will point to your own jQuery version. apex.jQuery will still point to the version shipped with APEX.
    JavaScript code in an APEX Plug-In:
    If you want to use jQuery in an APEX plug-in we recommend to use apex.jQuery. You should even go that far to modify the initialization code of an included jQuery plugin to use the apex.jQuery reference.
    What do I mean with that? If you have a look at the JavaScript code of a jQuery plugin you will notice that almost all of them have the following code structure
    (function($) {
    ... plugin code ...
    })(jQuery);Looks wired, right? :-) What this actually does is to declare an anonymous JavaScript function with a parameter $ which is immediately called and as parameter value passes in the current jQuery variable. That will allow the function to use $ as jQuery short cut without having to rely on the fact that $ is still used by jQuery.
    We recommend to copy the jQuery plugin file and prefix it with apex. (example: apex.jquery.maskedinput-1.2.2.js) to make everybody aware that the file has been modified for APEX. Change the jQuery to apex.jQuery in the initialization code.
    (function($) {
    ... plugin code ...
    })(apex.jQuery);Why are we doing all of that?
    As a plug-in developer you want to minimize your testing effort and also want to have an environment where you have full control to give proper support. Let's assume you are not doing the above, what happens if a user of your plug-in is using it's own version of jQuery? He might report strange behavior of you plug-in which you are not able to reproduce because you don't know that your plug-in is actually using a different version of jQuery than in your own environment. Using the apex.jQuery namespace reduces your risk and also the risk of your users, you just have to test your plug-ins with the APEX versions you want to support.
    Hope that has given some more insides when to use what.
    Regards
    Patrick

I built the site in Dreamweaver, and now I want to animate the elements in Edge Animate, but I noticed as soon as I did anything, the Quicksand plugin stopped working!
