Using two postfix servers

Hi Archers,
I am setting up two postfix servers to send and receive email from the same domain name. For example abc.com. How can I synchronize the email in these two servers so that when I use IMAP or POP to receive email, I will get all the email, doesn't matter which servers I connect to.
Thanks

  • One iPlanet using two application servers?

    Can anyone help, is it possible for one iplanet 6.0 instance using/connecting two application servers (i.e. one is JRun server, another is Webspere server) at the same time?
    If so, how to do it?

    I don't see why not. I have had the same webserver talking to both iplanet 6.5 and sunOne 7. As both the application servers will connect vias a plugin I would suggest you follow the instructions for both application servers and see what happens.

  • Bridge already registered when using two managed servers

    I have defined a messaging bridge with a target of my cluster in Weblogic 9.0 (upgraded from 7.0). My cluster has two managed servers. The bridge and resource adapter also have targets of the cluster. When I start the first managed server, everything works fine. The bridge works. When I bring up the second managed server, I repeatedly get the following:
              javax.jms.JMSException: SJMSBridge is already registered
              Is there something new that I need to define in the config to make this work?

    Here is the full error. I can understand what you are saying about the cluster, but I get this message even when only one server of the cluster is running. That doesn't make sense to me.

  • Has abyone been able to get Thunderbird to use two SMTP servers??

    I've entered all the settings properly in accordance with the ISP's requirements and I've checked through Google and the Moz forums but I can't find out why it won't send e-mail to the new SMTP server.
    Anyone else had any similar problems???
    Thanks

    There are two settings in Thunderbird that affect the SMTP server.
    The first one is under Edit -> Account Settings -> Outgoing Server (SMTP). Here you can add and remove servers and set the default one. This is the global setting for all accounts that use the default value.
    The other setting can be found under each account in Edit -> Account Settings (You have to click on the account name, which should be right above "Server Settings" next to the - and + signs). Here there is a dropdown list for choosing the SMTP server for this individual account. It is usually set to use the global default, but it can be changed to another SMTP server.

  • Storage redundancy using two OSX servers - Promise RAID

    Hi All,
    Currently we run 1 Mac Mini and Server on Mavericks connected via Thunderbolt to a Promise RAID 5 device, it works great. I want some redundancy and have purchased an additional Mac Mini to backup Open directory and DNS as our main server does pretty much everything.
    Incase the main server fails what is the best way for the Promise RAID to stay up? I've read you can create a "Thunderbolt Bridge" by connecting both Mac Mini's via thunderbolt cable and one to the RAID??? Is this correct? Or.... purchase a Thunderbolt to Gigiabyte adapter and run the RAID off the network. Any idea how to configure this?
    Thanks.
    James

    Sadly Apple do not provide much if any facilities for building a resilient setup along the lines you are thinking.
    The nearest you can get happens to be for Open Directory and DNS. You would setup two servers, one as the DNS master and one as a DNS secondary, and you would setup one server as the Open Directory Master, and the other as the Open Directory Replica. Neither of these require the two servers to share any storage or files, the two servers would send the information between themselves over the network. This only works for those two services.
    You couldn't for example have both connected to the promise and act as File Servers. (Both ordinary files sharing or network directories.)
    To get nearer to having two servers sharing common storage so that if one goes down the other takes over would require a SAN and not direct attached storage like the Promise. However Apple's software does not support this for file sharing services.

    The first AAA server listed in your config will always be used unless/until it becomes unavailable. At that point the NAD would move down to the next AAA server defined on the list and use that one until it becomes unavailable and then move to third one, and so on.
    If you want to use two AAA servers at the same time then you will need to put a load balancer in front of them. Then the virtual IP (vip) will be listed in the NADs vs the individual AAA servers' IPs.
    I hope this helps!

  • Two web servers cant use same port forwarding rule???

    I have two web servers, each configured to respond to http reqests on port 80.  I use NoIP service to map a domain name to my router. I create a port forwarding assignment for Server A by selecting the WebServer rule in the port forwarding rule table.  All is fine.  For Server B, I select the same Webserver rule and the router says there is a conflict.
    I don't understand why.  I think the router has enough information to route a http request for Server B by knowing its MAC address, which is different than Server A MAC address.
    What am I missing here???
    I was able to do this on my previous router with DD-WRT.....
    So it would appear the way to resolve this is to assign a different port address to Server B???
    grrrrrrrrrr I hate this router

    You shouldn't have been able to do that on any router.  You have to change the listening port of server 2, to 8080 or something like that, or make one a secure server and run it over 443
    That is a known issue with port forwarding
    Problem #8:
    Same Port in Multiple Rules
    There are some routers such as Linksys, D-Link and many others that do not do any checks if a port is already in another port forwarding rule. A port can only be forwarded to one Computer/IP at a time. So when there are multiples of the same port number the port forwarding rule will not work.
    Here is an example.
    As you can see port 2350 is in 2 rules. The 1st one points to a different IP than that of the 2nd rule. So the router will honor the 1st rule and the 2nd port forwarding rule to port 2350 fails.
    By removing the 1st rule the 2nd one will now work.

  • Using rsync w/ two Essbase servers (Primary & Secondary)

    I"m looking for information regarding the use of rsync w/ Essbase. I have two Essbase servers, Primary(Prod), and Secondary(DR) Essbase servers I wish to keep in sync. Essbase is running on Linux OS, and is 931.
    any information would be helpful.
    Thanks

    Hi Ed,
    Thanks very much for your comments...
    My Primary is currently the Log Collector anyway, if I upgrade them both at the same time then this would cause downtime for TACACS authentication.
    Would you advise breaking the pair, leaving the Primary (Log Collector) active, upgrading the Secondary to become the new Primary after the upgrade, restore the Log Collector to the new Primary. Then upgrading the (old Primary/new secondary) and re-registering them both?
    Further input would be appreciated - many thanks...

  • How can I send email using two different email address that both link back to my one exchange account on my Ipad mini

    How can I send email using two different email address that both link back to my one exchange account on my Ipad mini?
    On my PC I simply have a master return email address and use a POP for the secondary address.  Both are through the one exchange account without a problem.  I need to be able to do the same on my Ipad.

    Ah, I should have made that clear.  My domain didn't come from google.  It was purchased at and is hosted at dreamhost, but I haven't used their email servers in years - I just route everything through gmail.  I actually have a bunch of domains (with websites).
    Gmail has an option that lets someone with custom domains send (and receive) email through gmail using the custom domain once Google confirms proper ownership of the domain (to prevent spammers and such).  Gmail has a setting for "send email as" which allows gmail to be sent using a custom domain as the sender.  I'm pretty sure Apple's old mobileme had this feature too, but I didn't use it.

  • Policy based NAT to share 1 public between to two internal servers

    Hello all,
    I would like to implement a solution that allows me to share a single public IP amongst two internal servers. One service uses a range of tcp ports.
    I believe the below will address what I need however - can I use the ‘object-group’ command or do I need to specify each tcp port separately?
    This?
    object-group service A_Bunch_O_Ports tcp
    description Telemesis comms to-From Internet
    port-object eq https
    port-object eq www
    port-object eq 8060
    port-object eq 8070
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 object-group A_Bunch_O_Ports host 1.2.3.4 object-group A_Bunch_O_Ports
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.200 eq 25 host 1.2.3.4 eq 25
    nat (inside) 3 access-list policyNAT-share
    global (outside) 3 1.2.3.4 netmask 255.255.255.255
    Or this?
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 eq 443 host 1.2.3.4 eq 443
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 eq 80 host 1.2.3.4 eq 80
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 eq 8060 host 1.2.3.4 eq 8060
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 eq 8070 host 1.2.3.4 eq 8070
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.200 eq 25 host 1.2.3.4 eq 25
    nat (inside) 3 access-list policyNAT-share
    global (outside) 3 1.2.3.4 netmask 255.255.255.255

    Do you need both inbound and outbound connection for the server, or only outbound connection?
    If you only need outbound connection, then you don't even need to specify the port on the access-list. You can just configure the following:
    nat (inside) 3 172.20.40.100 255.255.255.255
    nat (inside) 3 172.20.40.200 255.255.255.255
    global (outside) 3 1.2.3.4 netmask 255.255.255.255
    However if you need both inbound and outbound connection for the server, then you should configure the following:
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 443 172.20.40.100 443 netmask 255.255.255.255
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 80 172.20.40.100 80 netmask 255.255.255.255
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 8060 172.20.40.100 8060 netmask 255.255.255.255
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 8070 172.20.40.100 8070 netmask 255.255.255.255
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 25 172.20.40.200 25 netmask 255.255.255.255

  • How Can i Use two Different Public IP Addresses no my DMZ with ASA Firewall.

    How To Using Two Different Public IP Address on My DMZ with ASA 5520
    Postado por jorge decimo decimo em 28/Jan/2013 5:51:28
    Hi everyone out there.
    can any one please help me regarding this situation that im looking for a solution
    My old range of public ip address are finished, i mean (the 41.x.x.0 range)
    So now i still need to have in my DMZ another two servers that will bring some new services.
    Remember that those two server, will need to be accessable both from inside and from outside users (Internet users) as well.
    So as i said, my old range of public ip address is finished and we asked the ISP to gives some additional public
    ip address to address the need of the two new servers on DMZ. and the ISP gave us the range of 197.216.1.24/29
    So my quation is, on reall time world (on the equipment) how can i Use two different public ip address on the same DMZ
    on Cisco ASA 5520 v8??
    How my configuration should look like?
    I was told about implementing static nat with Sub Interfaces on both Router and ASA interface
    Can someone please do give me a help with a practical config sample please. i can as well be reached at [email protected]
    attached is my network diagram for a better understanding
    I thank every body in advance
    Jorge

    Hi,
    So looking at your picture you have the original public IP address range configured on the OUTSIDE and its used for NAT for different servers behind the ASA firewall.
    Now you have gotten a new public IP address range from the ISP and want to get it into use.
    How do you want to use this IP address range? You want to configure the public IP addresses directly on the servers or NAT them at the ASA and have private IP addresses on the actual servers (like it seems to be for the current server)?
    To get the routing working naturally the only thing needed between your Router and Firewall would be to have a static route for the new public network range pointing towards your ASA OUTSIDE IP address. The routing between your Router and the ISP core could either be handled with Static Routing or Dynamic Routing.
    So you dont really need to change the interface configuration between the Router and ASA at all. You just need a Static route pointing the new public IP address towards the ASA outside IP address.
    Now when the routing is handled between the ISP - ISP/Your Router - Your Firewall, you can then consider how to use those IP addresses.
    Do you want to use the public IP addresses DIRECTLY on the HOSTS behind the firewall?This would require you to either configure a new physical interface with the new public IP address range OR create a new subinterface with the new public IP addresses range AND then configure the LAN devices correspondingly to the chosen method on the firewall
    Do you want to use the public IP addresses DIRECLTY on the ASA OUTSIDE as NAT IP addresses?This would require for you to only start configuring Static NAT for the new servers between the inside/dmz and outside interface of the ASA. The format would be no different from the previous NAT configuration other than for the different IP addresses ofcourse
    Of the above ways
    The first way is good because the actual hosts will have the public IP addresses. Therefore you wont run into problems with DNS when the LAN users are trying to access the server.
    The second way is the one requiring the least amount of configurations/changes on the ASA. In this case though you might run into problem with DNS (to which I refer above) as the server actually has a private IP address but the public DNS might reply to the LAN hosts with a public IP address and therefore connections from LAN could fail. This is because LAN users cant connect to the servers OUTSIDE NAT IP address (unless you NAT the server to public IP address towards LAN also)
    Hopefully the above was helpfull. Naturally ask more specific questions and I'll answer them. Hopefully I didnt miss something. But please ask more
    I'm currently at Cisco Live! 2013 London so in the "worst case" I might be able to answer on the weekend at earliest.

  • How can I use two single-dimensional arrays-one for the titles and array

    I want to Use two single-dimensional arrays-one for the titles and one for the ID
    Could everyone help me how can i write the code for it?
    Flower
    public class Video
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
    int[][] ID =
    { {145,147,148},
    {146,149, 150} };
    String[][] Titles=
    { {"Barney","True Grit","The night before Christmas"},
    {"Lalla", "Jacke Chan", "Metal"} };
    int x, y;
    int r, c;
    System.out.println("List before Sort");
    for(c =0; c< 3; ++c)
    for(r=0; r< 3; ++ r)
    System.out.println("ID:" + ID[c][r]+ "\tTitle: " + Titles[c][r]);
    System.out.println("\nAfter Sort:");
    for(c =0; c< 3; ++c)
    for(r=0; r< 3; ++ r)
    System.out.println("ID:" + ID[c][r]+ "\tTitle: " + Titles[c][r]);

    This is one of the most bizarre questions I have seen here:
    public class Video
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
    int[] ID = {145,147,148, 146,149, 150};
    String[] Titles= {"Barney","True Grit","The night before Christmas", "Lalla", "Jacke Chan", "Metal"};
    System.out.println("List before Sort");
    for(int i = 0; i < Titles.length; i++)
       System.out.println("ID:" + ID[i]+ "\tTitle: " + Titles);
    System.out.println("\nAfter Sort:");
    for(int i = 0; c < Titles.length; i++)
    System.out.println("ID:" + ID[i]+ "\tTitle: " + Titles[i]);
    Generally you don't use prefix (++c) operators in you for loop. Use postfix (c++).
    Prefix means that it will increment the variable before the loop body is executed. Postfix will cause it to increment after.

  • How to configure sendmail to use multiple LDAP servers ?

    Hi everybody!
    I have a sendmail running on Solaris 10 and a LDAP server(192.168.1.9) also running Solaris 10 OS. I have configured the sendmail the following way:
    bash-3.00# ldapclient list
    NS_LDAP_FILE_VERSION= 2.0
    NS_LDAP_BINDDN= cn=proxyagent,ou=profile,dc=email,dc=reso,dc=ru
    NS_LDAP_BINDPASSWD= {NS1}*********************
    NS_LDAP_SERVERS= 192.168.1.9
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_BASEDN= dc=email,dc=domain,dc=ru
    NS_LDAP_AUTH= simple
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_REF= FALSE
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_SCOPE= sub
    NS_LDAP_SEARCH_TIME= 30
    NS_LDAP_CACHETTL= 43200
    NS_LDAP_PROFILE= default
    NS_LDAP_CREDENTIAL_LEVEL= proxy
    NS_LDAP_BIND_TIME= 10
    I also have another LDAP server (IP 192.168.1.10). It is configured as a replicant of the 192.168.1.9 LDAP server.
    The question is how can i configure sendmail to use both LDAP servers ?
    The man pages explain how to configure ldapclient to use ONE server and what if want to use two or more? All the settings and the profiles the same.
    Thanks in advance =))

    Hi!
    To add LDAP servers to the Solaris ldapclient, you might use the ldapclient command:
    ldapclient manual -v -a defaultServerList="servera.yourdomain.com serverb.yourdomain.com"
    But this is only failover, AFAIK the Solaris ldapclient does not perform loadbalancing by itself.
    But I am not sure about your sendmail programm. Normally, sendmail has its own configuration
    and can be configured to use LDAP e.g. for aliases etc.
    Regards!

  • GDM 3.8 with two X servers

    Hello,
    I am curious if anyone has GDM running two X severs at startup. In the past (and still now) I am using XDM like in this thread:

    However with the change to GNOME where the screenlocker requires GDM, I wanted to try using GDM. Thus far I have not been able to get GDM to work the way I want. I very much dislike "switch user" because the users are not consistently on the same virtual terminal.
    So, my goal at the moment is two launch two X servers at bootup on two consistent VT using GDM. This will provide the gnome screen locker. Has anyone successfully configured such a setup? If so, can you share what changes need made?
    Thanks

    I would still like to hear anyone's experience on the GDM question if anyone has it.
    I played with the code that jasonwryan showed in the other thread. It didn't completely work for me. The option -novtswitch didn't work. It would always keep starting X on a new VT. I modified the code to work for me,,,
    A .profile file in each of our home directories.
    ~/.bash_profile has an additional line added
    source ~/.profile
    My .profile for use with tty3:
    if [[ -z "$DISPLAY" ]] && [[ $(tty) = /dev/tty3 ]]; then
    exec xinit -- :1 vt3 &>/dev/null && logout
    else read -p "Bryan, if you wanted to automatically start your desktop, logout, then press Ctrl + Alt + F3 and log in. Press [Enter] to continue."
    fi
    Her .profile for use with tty2:
    if [[ -z "$DISPLAY" ]] && [[ $(tty) = /dev/tty2 ]]; then
    exec xinit -- :0 vt2 &>/dev/null && logout
    else read -p "Teresa, if you wanted to automatically start your desktop, logout, then press Ctrl + Alt + F2 and log in. Press [Enter] to continue."
    fi
    It's interesting... It allows me to logon to other tty without starting X, but suggests what to do if I was in error. One thing I notice is if I try to reboot the computer from the menu, it will tell me she is logged on in a console. With XDM, it showed she was logged on, but not in a console. Now for a little testing to see if there are permissions problems.
    BTW, I am using i3lock as my screen locker. In GNOME custom shortcuts I have Super + L executing a custom script. Shortcut command:
    i3lock-more /home/bryan/Data/wallpapers/ThinkLinux.png
    and the i3lock-more script in /usr/local/bin:
    #!/bin/sh
    xset dpms 0 0 30
    ( i3lock -n -i $1 && xset dpms 0 0 900 )
    Of course I didn't get any closer to GDM working, but I did get to hear "Why do you keep changing things?" :-)

  • Two sites, Two Exchange servers, same domain

    Exchange can seriously baffle me at the best of times. Which is why I'm writing here at the moment.
    I have 2 sites in two geographical locations for the same business connected via IPsec VPN. At each site we have:
    - Domain Controller (domain.local)
    - RDS Server
    - File server
    - Exchange server (domain.org.au) (SiteA - exch1, SiteB - exch2)
    All servers are Windows Server 2008R2, Exchange servers are 2010, Outlook is also 2010.
    Both exchange servers are set up with DAG replicating the primary mailbox database.
    Both RDS servers have outlook set up - users are currently connecting to exch1 for exchange connectivity (at both siteA and siteB)
    I want to configure the outlook clients so that SiteA uses exch1, and SiteB uses exch2.
    When testing, I manually set up an outlook profile and entered the server name as 'exch2', but upon clicking 'check name' it substituted 'exch2' for 'exch1'.
    I have had a look at implementing CAS array, but this will not work as we have DAG set up between exchange servers, and according to a microsoft article this cannot be done:
    ""WNLB can't be used on Exchange servers where mailbox DAGs are also being used because WNLB
    is incompatible with Windows failover clustering.""
    Is there something I need to change in either the Group Policy or Autodiscover instance, or even DNS to allow this to work? Is this even possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Forgive me - I still dont quite understand what's required..
    Because I have 2 physical sites with AD and Exchange, even though both sites are using the same domain and the same Exchange Mailbox Database, I still require 2 CAS arrays?
    Just to clarify, both DC's arent under separate sites within Active Directory Sites and Services - they are both members of the 'Default-First-Site-Name' site. Would this make any difference to the config I am aiming for?
    I can understand the concept of having 2 CAS arrays, one for physical site A and physical site B, so that their respective RDS servers outlook clients point to their own local exchange server - but if both exchange servers are replicating and using the one
    Mailbox Database, I'm not sure if that will cause any issues - Cant you only apply one CAS array per database?
    Also, if I am unable to use network load balancing because the software balancing service wont work with the cluster service, what IP(s) would I point the CAS array to - my guess is the local IP's of the exchange servers for its relevant site?
