Using Webmail to access my Work Outlook mail

When I access my work Outlook mailbox by webmail, when I delete a message in the inbox, does that message just disappear in thin air or do I still need to delete it from the trash box?

If this is Outlook Web Access, the message should be in the trash, yes.

Sheesh. That looks hard. I think it will fall over at this point:
"Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP" 'cos Thunderbird uses only the regular email protocols: POP, IMAP and SMTP.
Here (at work) we have in the past have had IMAP and SMTP enabled on our Exchange server so Thunderbird could then connect just like to any other regular internet-based service.
With the change here to outlook365/outlook 2010 I've had to switch to using DavMail which lets Thunderbird talk to the mail server using OWA.
I haven't (seriously) tried Exquilla. Whilst I have great respect for its author and some of his other add-ons, I saw no reason to use an add-on that required payment when DavMail works for free.

  • Work Outlook mail to my Mac

I work on Windows at work (ARGHH!) and have an Outlook account. I want my Outlook mail to go to my Mac at home b/c I work from home quite a bit and aparently I cannot connect my Mac to our work server remotely.
How do I do this? Should I set it up to go into Entourage on my Mac? I am skeptical of having the mail come into my Mac Mail b/c there is a lot of Spam coming to my Work Outlook.
    How do I do this?
    Suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
since Entourage is not an Apple product, take a look here: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/entourage2008/default.mspx#/interacting_en tourage/
Entourage is only avaiable as a part of 'Office for Mac 2008'.
Btw.: ask the Administrator of your work company for access to your work PC from your home Mac using VPN/VNC.
I connect to my work PC from my Mac at home without problems.
    Regards

  • I uninstalled Firefox 5.0 version because of problems on accessing work e-mail at home. So, I need to download Firefox 4.0 according to my tech director at school. Where do I find this free download?

I access my work e-mail through my school website. When I click on it and put in id and password, it continually says I do not have a current id and password. However, I can access my e-mail through this site with no problem at work just not on my laptop.
My tech director said that Firefox was suppose to help this situation (had major problems with Windows explorer). However, I still had problems with the above. So, he has suggested downgrading from 5.0 to 4.0 version with hope that it would take care of the problem.

#A link to Firefox 4 versions will not be offered by any '''''responsible''''' contributor here, because Firefox 4 versions contain stability and security issues <u>that will not be corrected</u>. Firefox 4 is a thing of the past.
#The only currently supported versions that a '''''responsible''''' contributor here will offer are Firefox 5 and Firefox 3.6.18. Firefox 3.6.18 is currently scheduled for support for only 2-3 more months, then it, too, will be a thing of the past. Firefox 6 will probably be introduced about the time the Firefox 3.6.18 support is discontinued.
#To downgrade to Firefox 3.6.18, follow these instructions '''''very carefully''''':
#*Back up your personal information (bookmarks, passwords, etc.) before proceeding just in case something goes wrong: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing%20up%20your%20information
#**'''''If you need to''''', see the following article. See the last 2 sections "Copying files between profile folders" and "Your important data and their files" to restore important information '''''if something goes wrong in the downgrade''''': https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile
#*Download and SAVE Firefox 3.6.18 to your Desktop, then proceed as in the "Clean re-install" article below: https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    #*Clean re-install: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall
#*You may also need to reset your extension databases in your profile folder. Do the procedure after locating your profile folder (see "Back up your personal information" above) and closing Firefox. • Getting self-signed certificates working with mail

    Hi all,
I am having trouble getting email certificates created with keychain access to work in mail.
According to the Leopard help file, you simply have to go to Keychain access and create the certificate, which I did. After that if you create a message in mail with that account, there should be an icon showing that the message will be signed or encrypted if you have the recipients certificate installed. I cannot seem to get this to work. I have created the certificates specifically for email, the certificate shows in Keychain as well as a public and private key entry, but mail refuses to see it.
Has anyone gotten this to work with Mail and self-signed certificates?
Any help would be most appreciated.
    Thanks,
    RacerX

Have you tried setting the "Always trust" property? Double click the certificate in Keychain Access and allow it to have always trust for email.
Also, make sure that bundles are enabled for mail.
(Forget the command, google for "defaults write com.apple.mail enableBundles")
    That did it for me.

  • Cannot access a work IP address

I am working from a MacBook Pro. I work from home. I cannot access two work websites. I also cannot access my work e-mail. My two work websites have the same IP address. I had AT&T come out after extensive time on the phone with their 2nd tier tech group help me. They eventually replaced my modem. Once the modem was replaced it worked flawlessly until the next day when I tried to access the two websites and also e-mail. I thought it was an AT&T issue so I switched over to Time Warner. Once again with the new modem it worked flawlessly. Next day fail. I cannot ping the IP address and I have also have cleared the Cache, cookies, and history. I am running an OS X Maverick. If I turn on my hotspot on my phone I am able to access the websites and my work e-mail but that would end up being so costly to run this data 8 hours a day on my phone.
When I am working I sit on these 2 websites for 5 to 6 hours a day because I need to access information.

    Hi.
    It is true.
A reason is the SSO cookies mechanism, and it cannot work without a hostname.

  • I can not connect to my work e-mail using both regular e-mail set-up and mail 2003 (work has Outlook 2003).  I get the error message "no internet connection- as soon as a connection is made it will switch back".  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why can't I connect to my work e-mail (Outlook 2003) using either the regular e-mail account set-up or Mail 2003? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have yet to find an email server that does not work with Mail.app. Your solution will be to configure its ports and send/receive protocol according to the email server's requirements.
Try the Zimbra support forums. I found this excerpt from a relevant post:
    http://www.zimbra.com/forums/users/46221-mac-mail-app-dont-work-outside-company. html
in which the following ports were suggested
    ports 25, 465, and/or 487 to send mail.
port 143/993 to retrieve mail over IMAP

  • Webmail works Outlook Express and Mail.app do not

I am able to use webmail to send and receive but I can only receive email but not send (SMTP) with either Mail or Outlook Express. I have checked CRAM-MD5 Login and Plain for SMTP authentication. It appears in the logs that the clients do authenticate yet the clients time out.
I think I have seen this before of 10.3 Server during initial setup, I have since updated to 10.4 (clean install).
    Any Suggestions?
    Dan

The "Accept SMTP relays only from these hosts and networks:" is unchecked. In the list is 127.0.0.1/32.
This server is on the internet and NOT on my inside network. I am assuming (big mistake) that I should leave this setting uncheck which means any host can relay SMTP as long as I require authentication the server will not act as an open relay......I am thinking I wrong here so please correct me.....

Is there a way to get an apple mail folder exported to outlook mail folder structure?  I'm using Gmail on my IMAC and have a PC for work.  Want to share folder structure between systems.

Use following steps to import apple mail to outlook:
Choose Mailbox->Export Mailbox, or choose Export Mailbox from the Action pop-up menu
Choose a folder or create a new folder where you want to store the exported mailbox.
Outlook for Mac: Choose File->Import Mailboxes. Select the mail application you want to import messages from.
If it does not work then you should use third party apple mail to pst applications. You can easily search in Google about these applications.

  • I am using Microsoft OUtlook Web Access for work email and I am losing functionality. What do I do?

I use Microsoft Outlook Web Access for work emails when not at the office4 and I cannot/do not have any options to enlarge text or change fonts, etc. What do I need to do to make it work as if IE were my default browser?
    Thanks.

Outlook Web App (new name) on Exchange Server 2010 should be quite full featured. The Outlook Web Access supplied with Exchange 2003 didn't offer a very good experience for browsers other than IE...
Could you describe where the problem with fonts is: when composing messages, or when reading/working with the UI?

  • Using Mail to monitor my work e-mail account

My employer has its own e-mail server and it uses XP/Outlook. I want all of my work e-mail to show up in my Mac Mail account. (I have my MacBook Pro connected to the internet at all times.)
I went through the File/Add Account thing. I then got the followoing message:
"The server error encountered was: The connection to the server "mail.[my employer's name].com" on port 995 timed out."
    Here are my questions:
    1. Regarding the message, is that a problem with my employer's server or something I did?
    2. When I compose a message in Mail, how can I choose whether it is sent from my personal Mail account or my employer's account?
    3. When I reply to a message, is it automatically sent from the same account it came into?

    > 1. Regarding the message, is that a problem with my employer's
    server or something I did?
Most likely, you haven’t set up the account correctly. Are you sure it provides POP access and uses SSL, which is how you appear to have configured it?
    2. When I compose a message in Mail, how can I choose whether it
is sent from my personal Mail account or my employer's account?
This is explained in Mail Help’s “Setting the account your email is sent from” article.
    3. When I reply to a message, is it automatically sent from the
    same account it came into?
This is explained in Mail Help’s “How is the "From" address determined in a new message or a reply?” article.

  • Webmail ad blocker not working in outlook hotmail

I'm trying to figure out why my Webmail Ad Blocker stopped working in Outlook (Hotmail). I have tried everything I can, and even just reset Firefox to no avail.
I still get the annoying ad-laden reading pane on the right side of my inbox and messages.
    Please help!

Webmail Ad Blocker 4.2 has been released but it hasn't yet been reviewed, so it won't be available when you check for updates in the Add-ons Manager. You can install it manually if you trust the author.
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/webmail-ad-blocker/versions/
Otherwise, you can use the following style to get rid of the right-side pane on Outlook.com. Apply it either with the Stylish add-on (recommended) or the userContent.css file (for advanced users).
