Using xml within thumbnail gallery

I'm creating a portfolio of websites I have designed.
I have it working with classic ASP & XML, but want a
Flash version too.
So far:
1) I have a sliding thumbnail gallery working in Flash MX
(using AS2) whereby clicking on thumbnails loads in a larger view
of the image. These images are screenshots of the websites.
2) I have loaded an xml file which contains locations of
thumbnails & larger images, as well as URL of each website, and
some text to describe each site's content. I am able to loop
through the xml to retrieve the data I need for each site.
I would now like to merge the 2.
i.e. click on thumbnail to slide in the larger image, and
dynamically add the URL and text descriptions for each site.
Can someone just point me in the right direction... I'll then
try to fill in the blanks, and post again with more specific
queries if needed.
Thanks.

Hi,
It would be helpful if you added a new unique identifier field to your collection to ensure that the correct record gets updated. In the discussion below, I am assuming you have a collection named Col1 with columns ID, ImageURL and Description.
ImageURL points to the images that get displayed in the gallery. The text in Description is bound to the input text box (named Text1) instances.
Now, set the Behavior > OnChange property of the input text box to: UpdateIf(Col1, ID=ThisItem!ID, {Description:Text1!Text}).
Whenever the input text is changed and you shift focus by clicking anywhere else on the canvas, the OnChange rule gets executed and your collection will be updated with the new text.
Thanks

  • Render Pages within Apex using XML

    Hi All,
    Just wondering whether it is possible within Apex to render pages using XML by where you have a high level item, such as Cloth Size, which would be the Label attached to an underlying table field, and might have the values XL, L, M and S which might be rendered as a radiogroup.
    I guess what I am trying to establish is whether this is actually possible within Apex.
    I guess it might be similar to rendering items dynamically but using XML within the database.
    Hope this makes sense and someone can assist.
    Thanks.
    Tony.

    Hello,
    You need to put more details into what you want.
    Do you want client side rendering or server side rendering.
    Do you want to use CSS or XSLT?
    Do you need to do the entire page or will just a region in the page suffice?
    Past that the answer is yes for most of those but without more detail it will be tough to help you out.
    You might also want to look at different usages of XML and PL/SQL especially using XMLDB and is Oracles XMLType none of which are APEX specific but can all be used in and APEX page.

  • Help with Photo Gallery using XML file

    I am creating a photo gallery using Spry.  I used the Photo Gallery Demo (Photo Gallery Version 2) on the labs.adobe.com website.  I was successful in creating my site, and having the layout I want.  However I would like to display a caption with each photo that is in the large view.
    As this example uses XML, I updated my file to look like this:
    <photos id="images">
                <photo path="aff2010_01.jpg" width="263" height="350" thumbpath="aff2010_01.jpg" thumbwidth="56"
                   thumbheight="75" pcaption="CaptionHere01"></photo>
                <photo path="aff2010_02.jpg" width="350" height="263" thumbpath="aff2010_02.jpg" thumbwidth="75"
                   thumbheight="56" pcaption="CaptionHere02"></photo>
                <photo path="aff2010_03.jpg" width="350" height="263" thumbpath="aff2010_03.jpg" thumbwidth="75"
                   thumbheight="56" pcaption="CaptionHere03"></photo>
    </photos>
    The images when read into the main file (index.asp) show the images in the thumbnail area and display the correct image in the picture pain.  Since I added the pcaption field to the XML file, how do I get it to display?  The code in my index.html file looks like this:

  • Validation of XML within InDesign CS5 document using schema (xsd)

    Hi,
    Can any one suggest me how to validate the XML within the InDesign document using xml schema (.xsd) file.
    Can this validation be done within the Indesign like DTD validation.
    Thanks,

    I personally don't work with XML in InDesign too much.

  • XML scrolling thumbnail, image loader, & Buttons [halfway works]

    Intro:
    I started a flash-based website a few years ago. Back in 2006 I was able to get a xml scrolling thumbnail, image loader to work without a glitch.
    For numerous reasons I had to put the project on hold until now. [one was that my 30 day trial of flash expired and only recently was I able to purchase the Adobe Web Suite CS4 as well as a new computer which could run the apps.]
    Last Friday saw a bump in the road in the development of my site as two, rather straightforward task, turned into something short of a nightmare as I have been unable to get past these two, seemingly, relatively simple task.
    I have posted in 4 other flash forums the issues, in detail, that I am facing - and have quite a bit of interest/views in the topic as the numbers suggest - yet no response/answer as of yet. [Which confirms other messages I have seen which seem to state that working with buttons has become increasingly difficult with the newer version of flash - something Im a bit surprised with actually from Adobe. - I would have thought there would be a palette where you could set parameters...]
    Screenshot of Site/Timeline:
    Before getting into the two questions I have, I would like to post an image of the site as it looks whenever an swf file is saved out, as well as a piece of the timeline in the back for reference.
    Issue #1
    As of now when the swf file is saved out you get exactly what you see above:
    a: A scrolling thumbnail
    b: ...which loads a large image when clicked on it - PEFECT...
    BUT...
    1a: I need for the buttons to load in this action, not for it to just load on its own.
    [i.e., the silk_paintings gallery is what is open, so I need the "silk_paintings" button to call up this action]
    note: Initially I had attacked this problem by taking out the actions layer you see above and applying it directly to the individual buttons with some crude MouseEvent Listener/Handerls... that did not work - at all.
    Im sure it may be "easier" to make an array out of it, but with my coding level it may be "easier" to apply it to the buttons.
    1b: How I currently see it, I would take the xml-list and duplicate it for the number of galleries I have.
    [I would then re-name the xml-list to reflect the name of the galleries they are to represent, i.e. "silk_paintings"]
    [also, I would have to rename the folders to "thumbnails1,2,3, etc., & "images 1,2,3, etc"
    From there I would duplicate the actions and paste it into the buttons, changing the xml-list name to that of "silk_paintings", etc., as well as write in the MouseEvent listener Handler to make it work. [ah, ha, but what is that magic phrase, I have tried to implement various code from other tutorials, and all in vein.]
    Issue #2
    At this point I would be tickled pink just to get this to basic function to work.
    However, once the buttons are working and calling up the xml, etc., then I need the buttons to stay on the semi-transparent blue color it is whenever in the 'hit' state. [note: NOT pictured above.]
    With the way the buttons are currently set up, and with wanting to use scripting to get them to interact with the thumbnail gallery, it will have to be some miraculous code to tell that button what color to stay as whenever its clicked, and of course it going back to white when another button is clicked.
    Conclusion:
    Since this is an Adobe Forum I would like to make a few additional statements in hopes that the developers, etc. may take heed.
    Adobes products are not cheap, and when I went to purchase the websuite I went in as a designer needing a program as not to need to program.
    I understand the flexibility that coding gives, but something as simple as linking buttons should not be in the realms of rocket science. [yes, for many its not...but my brain just does not operate that route despite all the tutorials thrown at me.]
    Again, it would seem that there would be a button panel where you could drag options like scrolling thumbnail slider, loader, and then parameters would come up. [much like Apples iWeb. - but before the argument of one being pro and the other for non-pros, I see it differently. Software should not be the limiting factor in how flexible you can design, or rather ones lack of programming shouldnt be. With all the talented, and I say this in all humility and honesty, programmers working for Adobe, Im sure something could be programmed like what Im asking for.]
    note: Director is a good example, back in 1997 I knew nothing of multimedia and in one week I had assembled a portfolio, clicking buttons, speech, movies, and all. - and no, I dont have the money to buy more software!
    At this moment I am at the mercy of someone who reads code like its a nighttime tale they are telling their kids, and who can see the exact issue I have and can share the appropriate, correct code. [as I have noticed, it has to be on target - naturally - but this target changes with just a slight change in the design.]
    Thank you,
    peace
    Dalen
    p.s.

    The issues with the buttons calling up the scrolling thumbnail panel have been resolved, as well as keeping the buttons in their hit state once clicked, thanks to Rob.
    Those that have been following this thread, or stumble upon it in their searches later, may appreciate to see the final solution to this particular issue.
    [Hopefully I will be able to update this thread with a url in the future to show the site in operation, which may help somebody with their project in the future if its set up similarly.]
    Alas, it would be nice if future versions of flash had a more direct, flexible, user friendly method for creating navigation.
    [We may see development beyond the flash ads which everyone seems to loathe... and more creativity with flash in terms of games, web interactivity, &  animation.
    Below are 2 sets of code:

                   var xdist = _xmouse-830;
                   panel._x += -xdist/7;
    Of note is the change to how the movie clips are measured... this change in and of itself has really helped to make the thumbnail panels operation more efficient.

  • How Do You Use XML To Create Image Upload On A WebSite?

    Hello,
    Could some one please help me understand how to create web image gallery and web video gallery using XML? I have found few xml codes that could be used to do this but I am not so sure how to use them. I want my clients to be able upload images and videos with linking thumbnails to Image and or Videos. Do you think the codes I included in this question will help me achive this goal? And do I need to put all in one and in the same directory so it will work? Please help with your idea and tell me how you would use these codes and how you may step-by-step implement the idea your self to your own web site.
    I have also included the instruction I found on the web with the codes.
    Starting with You Tube, API on their video gallery, here are the codes I found,
    Assume you are to use the YouTube, XML code; What will you change here so it will work on your own www.domain.com?
    <% Dim xml, xhr, ns, YouTubeID, TrimmedID, GetJpeg, GetJpeg2, GetJpeg3, thumbnailUrl, xmlList, nodeList, TrimmedThumbnailUrl Set xml = Server.CreateObject("MSXML2.FreeThreadedDOMDocument")
    xml.async = False
    xml.setProperty "ServerHTTPRequest", True
    xml.Load("http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/Shuggy23/favorites?orderby=updated") If xml.parseError.errorCode <> 0 Then
        Response.Write xml.parseError.reason End If Set xmlList = xml.getElementsByTagName("entry") Set nodeList = xml.SelectNodes("//media:thumbnail") For Each xmlItem In xmlList
        YouTubeID = xmlItem.getElementsByTagName("id")(0).Text
        TrimmedID = Replace(YouTubeID, "http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos/", "")

            thumbnailUrl = xmlItem2.getAttribute("url")
            Response.Write thumbnailUrl & "<br />"

    For the image gallery, the following are the codes I found with your experience do I need to use the entire codes or just some of them that I should use?
    CODE #01Converting Database queries to XML
    Using XML as data sources presumes the existence of XML. Often, it is easier to have the server create the XML from a database on the fly. Below are some scripts for common server models that do such a thing.
    These are starting points. They will need to be customized for your particular scenario.
    All these scripts will export the data from a database table with this structure:
    ID: integer, primary key, autoincrement
    AlbumName: text(255)
    ImagePath: text(255)
    ImageDescription: text(2000)
    UploadDate: datetime
    The output of the manual scripts will look like:

    These are all wrapped in CDATA because it is will work with all data types. They can be removed if you know you don't want them.
    Note: If using the column auto-generating versions, ensure that all the column types are text. Some databases have data type options like 'binary', that can't be converted to text. This will cause the script to fail.

    OK, I understand - thanks for that.
    I thought the whole process was supposed to be a bit more seemless? Having to upload/download documents and manually keep them in sync will leave a lot of room for errors.
    It's kinda painful the way iOS doesn't have folders. It makes things incompatible with the Mac and means you can't group files from multiple apps into a single project - who organises their digital life by the apps they use?
    I think I'll recommend they use their iPad only.
    Thanks for that.
    Cheers

  • Making clickable buttons to open xml images in gallery

    I want to do an xml grid image gallery similar to http://www.republicofcode.com/tutorials/flash/as3gridgallery/
    However, instead of using thumbnails, I already have images on my site that I want to make clickable buttons to open the images in the gallery...how would I script these buttons?
    [link removed by moderator]

    If you want it to be similar to the one you link then use the images in the grid like in the one you linked.

  • How to make a thumbnail gallery page that'll open individual slideshows?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to make a gallery of thumbnails for album covers I did, and want for it to open its own slideshow (on the same page / as a typical slideshow pop up) when a person clicks on one so he/she can view the main image and a few more thumbnails on its side for other artwork panels (as well as use the arrows if possible).
    Anyone got an idea for an easier way to do this?
    Thanks! I'm going insane over this... And it seems like this could be the easiest thing, but somehow I can't find a way...
    (idem for B and C and so forth)
    =

    Hi,
    That would seem to be the perfect logical answer. But guess what? I've tried this many times without any luck. I MUST be doing something wrong, but simply have no clue what it is. SO I'll describe every tiny step, and maybe you can see where I'm at fault.
    1- I drag & drop a Lightbox display from the the composition folder in the Widget library on a blank page.
    2- I delete 2 of the 3 default thumbnails from above the main target/container,
    3- I select the remaining whitest thumbnail, go on the FILL option the left corner, and add an image from my files. I choose scale to fit and make it the size I want.
    4- I open the Trigger option in the upper left area and do the same for the "Normal" state (as a default, Muse puts it on the "Active" one). Now all my states have the same image. I also remove the stroke and fill color behind.
    4- I select the default gray bars with arrows within the CONTAINER below and remove them (simply because I intend to change them with my own design and to make sure I don't stumble on them for the forthcoming steps)
    5- I select the TARGET area and then go to my FILL option and change the white area to "no color".
    6- I then select the CONTAINER area and change the default back color to an image of my choice (a background that I put at 80% transparency).
    7- I re-select the TARGET area and drop a Lightbox widget from the Slideshows folder in the Widget library into the selected TARGET area. I resize it to my liking.
    8- I go and click on the upper right option button (white arrow under a blue circle) of this new Lightbox to add the images I want.
    9- As predicted, the images appear as they should: One big in the center and the proper amount of thumbnails above. When I click on them, they appear sequentially below also as intented.
    10- At this point all should be great and working (I think), so I go in the preview section (and also tried via the Preview in Browser (crtl+shift+e)) and what appears, is my page with the actual thumbnail of the cover (again, as it should). BUT here comes the bug::::
    Once I click on it, the Lightbox slideshow pops up, and all shows up but the actual center main image (as well as its default black area behind the image), e.g. what should be the bigger version of the 1rst thumbnail from the series above it. I try to click on the other thumbnails above the invisible image and nothing happens. Actually something does happen, because if I decide to click outside of the of the main image area, ONLY then all fades again and my main image pops up ALONE, everything else fades away! So to get out of there, I have to reclick outside but I'm then pushed back to the main original thumbnail gallery....
    So it feels like it sorts of become like a 3rd level thing and this is obviously not what is needed...
    Any idea what's problematic?!
    Much thanks for having taken the time to read my little novel here! ; )
    If this is not quite clear still, I could post a video of all of what I'm doing and the resulting problem.

  • Movie Clip Thumbnail Gallery

    I'm using Flash 8 Professional
    Here's the swf:
    http://208.131.133.122/flash/
    And my fla:
    http://208.131.133.122/flash/scene.fla
    (8MB sorry!)
    Right now, when the mouse is in the same _x position as the
    last thumbnail, the thumbnails slide gently to the left to reveal
    more thumbnails then slide back to the right when the mouse moves
    to the left again.
    The problem is that they start sliding to the left whether or
    not the mouse is over the thumbnail gallery. If the mouse is at the
    bottom of the screen or the top of the screen and in the same _x
    position as the last thumbnail, they will begin sliding.
    I would like the thumbnails to begin sliding only when the
    mouse hovers over the row of thumbnails and not when it is outside
    that thumbnail area.
    I added some actionscript to stop the movement of the
    movieclip when the mouse is above the max or below the min _y
    position of the clip; but, it does not work.
    I don't really know what I'm doing. Can someone.... anyone...
    tell me if this is something that can be done? And if yes, how?
    Much thanks in advance.

    I see that your first wooden button is a 'scroll down' button
    which plays through
    the length of the thumbnails. Do you mean you want to
    replicate and reverse this on the third wooden button 'scroll up' ?
    I'm just guessing here but I'd say you accually have your
    thumbnail gallery scrolling down as a motion tween and your scroll
    up button just has a 'goto previous frame' type function on it?
    If the previous statement is true then I would suggest two
    options for you.
    1.) You take the scrolling functionality out of a timeline
    and do it all with action script. This would be the most effective
    way of doing it.
    2.) Since you probably don't want to make serious edits to
    that .fla. Here's another way. You have a boolean called 'is_rev'
    and a function called 'play_backwards'. These are contained within
    the same movie clip as your thumbnail gallery.
    <!-- code
    var is_rev:Boolean = false;
    -->
    Your third wooden button has these actions on it.
    on(release)
    this.is_rev = true;
    this.prevFrame(); // This is to start the reverse loop;
    Your first wooden button would have this on it.
    on(release)
    this.is_rev = false;
    this.play();
    Your second wooden button would have this on it.
    on(release)
    this.is_rev = false;
    The function would be:
    function play_backwards()
    if(this.is_rev)
    this.preFrame();
    Now on every single frame of your scrolling gallery you need
    to call this.play_backwards();
    Please note the way I structured the coding assumes every
    object is on the same timeline. If your buttons are in a
    different/parent movie clip relative to your gallery movie clip,
    your going to need to make sure 'this' is set relative to the two
    objects. (i.e. on your button -> this.prevFrame(); would
    probably be this.gallery.prevFrame(); )
    A quick design note. If your buttons symbolize scrolling not
    movement they should be reversed since as the thumbnail gallery is
    moving upwards the user is scrolling downwards.

  • How to use ShowValue within a UIX/JSP page to display an active link?

    I am storing URL's in the DB and want to display them as active links on a UIX/JSP page. I thought that I had this working some time ago, but now it no longer works.
    Using <bc4juix:RenderValue datasource="ds1" dataitem="myTextField" /> will display "http://www.otn.oracle.com" as an inactive link using UIX/XML which is expected.
    Using <jbo:ShowValue datasource="ds1" dataitem="myTextField" /> will display an active link using if using BC4J/JSP, which is expected.
    However, I have not been able to do this using a UIX/JSP page.

  • Dynamic binding of items in sap.m.Table using XML views

    Dear SAPUI5 guru's,
    Let's start by saying I'm an ABAP developer who's exploring SAPUI5, so I'm still a rookie at the time of writing. I challenged myself by developing a simple UI5 app that shows information about my colleagues like name, a pic, address data and their skills. The app uses the sap.m library and most of the views are XML based which I prefer.
    The data is stored on an ABAP system and exposed via a gateway service. This service has 2 entities: Employee and Skill. Each employee can have 0..n skills and association/navigation between these 2 entities is set up correctly in the service. The data of this service is fetched from within the app using a sap.ui.model.odata.ODataModel model.
    The app uses the splitApp control which shows the list of employees on the left side (master view). If a user taps an employee, the corresponding details of the employee entity are shown on the right (detail view).
    Up till here everything is fine but I've been struggling with my latest requirement which is: show the skills of the selected employee in a separate XML view when the user performs an action (for the time being, I just created a button on the detail view to perform the action). After some hours I actually got it working but I doubt if my solution is the right way to go. And that's why I'm asking for your opinion here.
    Let's explain how I got things working. First of all I created a new XML view called 'Skills'. The content on this view is currently just a Table with 2 columns:
    <core:View xmlns:core="sap.ui.core" xmlns:mvc="sap.ui.core.mvc" xmlns="sap.m"
      controllerName="com.pyramid.Skills" xmlns:html="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <Page title="Skills"
           showNavButton="true"
           navButtonPress="handleNavButtonPress">
      <content>
      <Table
       id="skillsTable">
      <columns>
      <Column>
      <Label text="Name"/>
      </Column>
      <Column>
      <Label text="Rating"/>
      </Column>
      </columns>
      </Table>
      </content>
      </Page>
    </core:View>
    The button on the Detail view calls function showSkills:
    showSkills: function(evt) {
      var context = evt.getSource().getBindingContext();
      this.nav.to("Skills", context);
      var skillsController = this.nav.getView().app.getPage("Skills").getController();
      skillsController.updateTableBinding();
    Within 'this.nav.to("Skills", context);' I add the Skills view to the splitApp and set its bindingContext to the current binding context (e.g. "EmployeeSet('000001')"). Then I call function updateTableBinding in the controller of the Skills view which dynamically binds the items in the table based on the selected employee. So, when the ID of the selected employee is '000001', the path of the table's item binding should be "/EmployeeSet('000001')/Skills"
    updateTableBinding: function(){
      var oTemplate = new sap.m.ColumnListItem(
      {cells: [
              new sap.m.Text({text : "{Name}"}),
              new sap.m.Text({text : "{Rating}"})
      var oView = this.getView();
      var oTable = oView.byId("skillsTable");
      var oContext = oView.getBindingContext();
      var path = oContext.sPath + "/Skills";
      oTable.bindItems(path, oTemplate);
    Allthough it works fine, this is where I have my first doubt. Is this the correct way to bind the items? I tried to change the context that is passed to this.nav.to and wanted it to 'drill-down' one level, from Employee to Skills, but I couldn't manage to do that.
    I also tried to bind using the items aggregation of the table within the XML declaration (<Table id="skillsTable" items="{/EmployeeSet('000001')/Skills}">). This works fine if I hard-code the employee ID but off course this ID needs to be dynamic.
    Any better suggestions?
    The second doubt is about the template parameter passed to the bindItems method. This template is declared in the controller via javascript. But I'm using XML views! So why should I declare any content in javascript?? I tried to declare the template in the XML view itself by adding an items tag with a ColumnListItem that has an ID:
                    <items>
                        <ColumnListItem
                        id="defaultItem">
                        <cells>
                            <Text text="{Name}"/>
                            </cells>
                            <cells>
                            <Text text="{Rating}"/>
                            </cells>
                        </ColumnListItem>
                    </items>
    Then, in the updateTableBinding function, I fetched this control (by ID), and passed it as the template parameter to the bindItems method. In this case the table shows a few lines but they don't contain any data and their height is only like 1 mm! Does anyone know where this strange behaviour comes from or what I'm doing wrong?
    I hope I explained my doubts clearly enough. If not, let me know which additional info is required.
    Looking forward to your opinions/suggestions,
    Rudy Clement.

    Hi everybody,
    I found this post by searching for a dynamic binding for well acutally not the same situation but it's similar to it. I'm trying to do the following. I'm having a list where you can create an order. On the bottom of the page you'll find a button with which you're able to create another order. All the fields are set to the same data binding ... so the problem is if you've filled in the values for the first order and you'll press the button you'll get the same values in the second order. Is it possible to generate a dynamic binding?
    I'm going to post you a short code of what I'm meaning:
    <Input type="Text" value="{path: 'MyModel>/Order/0/Field1'}" id="field1">
         <layoutData>
                    <l:GridData span="L11 M7 S3"></l:GridData>
               </layoutData>
    </Input>
    As you can see I need to set the point of "0" to a dynamic number. Is there any possibility to reach this???
    Hope you can help
    Greetings
    Stef

  • Need help making javascript thumbnail gallery function in javascript tab menu

    Hello all,
    I have implemented a css/javascript tab menu on one of my html pages thanks to Chris Coyier (http://css-tricks.com/learning-jquery-fading-menu-replacing-content/), and within one of the tabs, which I labeled GALLERY, I am trying to place a thumbnail gallery curtosy of Trent (http://www.twospy.com/galleriffic/).
    Before trying to place it in the menu, I made the gallery on a seperate html page to make sure that I could get it to work.  It does. But when I place it in the menu it shows up on page load under the content of the first tab (labeled TOUR) and not in the gallery tab.  In addition, once I click on the "gallery" tab the other tabs stop showing their content.  I feel like I am missing something obvious. But I just can't figure out what.  If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks,

  • Using XML as a Data Source

    In http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10540/datasource.htm#CHDBCAIJ it states you can use XML as your data source and mentions...
    URLs can include repository or session variables, providing support for HTTP data sources that accept user IDs and passwords embedded in the URL. For example:
    http://somewebserver/cgi.pl?userid=valueof(session_variable1)&password=valueof(session_variable2)
    I'm trying to pass this:
    http://somewebserver/cgi.pl?userid=valueof(NQ_SESSION.USER)
    but when I try that I can see in my web server logs that the content of the userid variable is 'valueof(NQ_SESSION.USER)' so it's not passing the results to the web server, just the text. Any ideas what's going on? Is my syntax correct? Thanks!

    Hey,
    There are a few things to look at when using session and repository variables within the RPD.
    One of the first documents you need to reference is the "What is the Syntax for Referencing Variable?" section within the OBI documentation. In addition look at this section on how to use variables in the RPD, http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10540/variables.htm#BIEMG3104
    Basically you are trying to use NQ_SESSION.USER which is the syntax for trying to show the user name is Presentation Services. Of course you can see this in your web server logs because that is the correct syntax for presentation services web tier but not the RPD where you define your XML Source.
    You need to try either use VALUEOF("USER") or you are simply forgeting to put the syntax surrounded by single-quotes like, http://somewebserver/cgi.pl?userid='valueof(NQ_SESSION.USER)' to pull the system session variable into the XML URL as needed.
    Try those options and let me know if that works.
    Please mark this as the correct answer or helpful.
    Cheers,
    Christian

  • How do I modify the template used in the Photo Gallery module

    I notice the Photo Galleries are rendered as an HTML table and I would like to make a small modification to the way the gallery is rendered on the page.
    Basically I just want to wrap a DIV around the <img> tag so I can control the look of the image via my own CSS.
    I see there is the ability to modify Module Templates, but the photo gallery module is not listed there.
    Where can I access the template used for a photo gallery?
    Alternatively I will need to display the images myself using an XML feed and jQuery, but I would rather use BC's own modules when I can.

    Hi David,
    There is no template for the photo Galleries. But if you are using Firebug you can find out the css values and add your own modification by adding CSS by the same selector as the current gallery to your own page and use the !Important value to over write the gallery css.

  • Problems with Flash thumbnail gallery

    Hi there,
    I am an artist trying to remake my website...I have a picture of a window on my homepage. The window is a movie. When clicked on, the window lights turn on and a grid of thumbnail pics appear. Each thumbnail is a movie clip. When a thumbnail is clicked on, the movie plays and a larger image appears over the window. The problem is, the window is still active underneath the large image, so if I click on the large image, I am really clicking on the window movie clip underneath, and the thumbnail grid disappears-starting the window movie clip over. How do I make the window clip inactive after it is initially clicked?
    Also, I would like the larger images to end their movie clips after another thumbnail is clicked, so that there aren't large images piled up on top of each other.
    Is there anyone that can help?
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi again,
    First off, thanks so much for your continued help...
    So, I changed my design a little and format. Now I'm using as3, with Flash CS5.
    My thumbnail gallery is still based on the same concept, I want a movie clip of a window to be clicked on that reveals a thumb grid, but now the thumbnail gallery should appear over the window, and the large portfolio images appear in the blank space to the right. I followed a tutorial for the gallery, here's my code on the main timeline:
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, GetFirstImage)
    function GetFirstImage (evt:MouseEvent) {
              gotoAndStop("pic1")
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, GetSecondImage)
    function GetSecondImage (evt:MouseEvent) {
              gotoAndStop("pic2")
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    btn3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, GetThirdImage)
    function GetThirdImage (evt:MouseEvent) {
              gotoAndStop("pic3")
    But now I don't know how to go about adding in the initial movie clip of the window (which when clicked should light up and fade into the thumbnail grid) Right now I just have the gallery set up. How do I set up a movie that contains my gallery?
    Sorry if the question is redundant, but as you know, I'm new to actionscript.
    Thanks!
