UTF-8 characters getting rejected during external file load

Hi All,
I have a column called AssetName declared as NVARCHAR2(100) declared in an external table which maps to a file called Example.dat
When the AssetName is coming in with some characters like the one present in the name shown below, the data is getting rejected. Can someone please help me analyze this?
Data getting rejected:

Hi Justin,
Here are the asnwers;
OK. But that implies that there is an error message in the log file. What is the error message?
-- the message is pointing to the previous column even though there is valid data:
Sample data:
The 1st and 3rd rows are getting inserted but 2nd row is rejected.

  • Sending and getting data from external file.

I'm running it in actionscript 1  and 2 since 3 wouldn't work when getting data from external media. I'm  trying to find out how to post data to a PHP file and getting from that  file I'm trying to make the flash for something that works like a game  but differently. Since I just found out how to make the HTML stuff show  up but a lot of times, some of my text will not appear so I don't know  what's going on.
Does anyone know how to send and get data both at the same time from a sample file?
    The sample file is example.php
It has to sent information like ID and NAME
and it has to get information like Description and userID

The tutorial I pointed you to does provide the visuals you requested, both the AS code and sample PHP code, so I can't see where your learning by visuals aspect holds up.... your approach sounds more like you want someone to hand you a tailored solution that you won't need to learn from.  Visuals require reading and doing.  If that fails to get absorbed or you couldn't understand/revise it, what could anyone else prepare for you that would work better?
I did the tutorial and everything but every time I press the button or even load it, it keeps on saying undefined. I like the have a sample FLA file so I can figure things out. I did everything from the site but it won't work out for me.
I did step 5 too because it was almost all that I was looking for but it won't even work. keeps on saying undefined. I would show you but webcam max won't work and I can't show you an example.
    EDIT:
You know it's frustrating when I don't know how the heck I'm supposed to do this stuff. I read the whole dang thing and I still can't get this dang thing working.
I did everything. EVERYTHING. I just don't get this crap.

I need to display in my servlet program about the list of jar files loaded by servlet container. Does it vary for each servlet container or is it same. Where can I get those details.

...Interestingly, method 1 and 3 gives the same list, same order, same count, just format of item is a little bit different. The order is same as in Eclipse .classpath file.
Method 2 (tschodt) give significantly more items! rougly 3x! Different order (somewhat random it seems to me). Some items contain extra information, like version and string "Java Platform API Specification".
It prints not absolute paths but logical Java names.

  • Get status of external file

    Hey all,
In my current project I need to create a listen folder that will wait for .zip file to show up in the folder then I need to unzip them and then work with the files that were unzipped.
The issue that I am running into is that I can't figure out when the zip file has finished copying to the listen folder. My first thought was to just check the file size until it stopped changing but I keep getting the full size of the file returned to me even while it is still copying.
So does anyone know how I can figure out when the file has finished copying?
Thanks in advance for any help on this,
    Jeremy

If you look at buddyAPI's file copy with progress command then you might realize that in order to get the progress on copying a file (an asynchronous process) you have to have access to that process/thread. Based off what you're describing, the process of a file that's copying into this folder of yours is occurring outside of your projector's control, so you are not likely going to be able to monitor it's progress.
On top of all that I mentioned above, your description of other copying files to a folder sounds suspiciously like one of two things:
    1. Users on the same network copying files to a central file server or a computer acting as a file server.
    2. A web-based shockwave project.
Indicating which of the two it is will definitely change the possible solution.
Lastly, the simplest method I can come up with to monitor the file copy process you might have to develop a client application that the users will have to use in order to copy the files to your folder. That way the client app could write to a file in the same folder after the copying is done to indicate that it's done and your app can monitor the folder and that file for file copy status.

  • Master data from external file load

I'm loading master data from a flat file.  I would like to load both the attribute and text from the same flat file.  For the attribute my flat file looks like:
    USERID,USER NAME
For the text file I need to load the language, so it looks like:
    EN,USERID,USER NAME
I tried to load the text file from the attribute file and hard code the 'EN' in the transfer rules.  But it seemed to ignore it and move the User ID into the language field.
I must be missing something.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi!
i think there is some mismatching between your transfer structure and the flat file structure.(i mean sequence of fields)
    you can do the following.
1)create a flexible InfoSource which contain Fields
    0LANGU,userid,0TXTLG
    2) create the TransferStructure with the same field and same sequence.
3)change your InfoObject and assign an InfoArea under master data tab.
4)now you can see 2 InfoProviders in the Pinafore assigned. 1 for attributes and 1 for text
5)create update rules for these 2  InfoProviders  using the InfoSource created above. in attribute Update Rules map 0TXTLG to Username field.
    hope it helps
    with regards

  • Design View not displaying external files...HELP!

This is my second attempt asking for anybody's help. I'm using Dreamweaver 8.0.2 (OS X 10.4.11) and when I open "any" of my local files In "Design View" NO external files loads. Here's what I've done so far to no avail:
    Delete "site cache"
    Delete all pref files
Made sure "Display External Files" is check
Made sure "Style Rendering --> Display Files" is check (using screen media type)
Check that my firewall is disabled
Renamed local root DIR of site file
Searched the web, forums, etc...none of the answers worked
    Reinstalled DW 8.....TWICE!
2 weeks ago I did updates to my website and everything was just fine. And now, nothing is working. All I can see is text and all of DIV blocks...but all external CSS and INC files fails to load. Been trying to fix this for 2 days now. Can anyone "please" give me some ideas to fix this problem.

Hi - without seeing the actual page code, I'll take a stab that possibly you've lost the link to your stylesheets...?
If you view the code, somewhere inside the "head" tags (generally right under the "Title", you should have a reference to any of your external stylesheets/images, etc.) Something like this:
    <link href="name_of_stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
If no images are showing up as well, my guess is that you've moved the page (or the images and stylesheet) into a different folder/or subfolder without updating the links.  Any time you move a file, it should be done within dreamweaver (and it will always ask if you want to update links). If you move a file without using DW, it will definitely break all links, and no amount of re-installing, re-caching, etc. will fix it (sorry)...
If this is the case, the best way to rectify would be to move the file back to where you had it... if this isn't the reason for the broken links, you'll need to manually re-update all of the links because something else has broken the linkage... (sorry again...)

  • Preloader for external files

Hi all I have a Director projector and when I click various
buttons this opens external files. Sometimes the external files
takes time to load. How can I create a preloader that the user can
view while the particular external file loads. Any help will be
    appreciated.

    Hi,
Here's some info (and script) for loading assets from disk:
    http://www.lingoworkshop.com/Articles/Preloading_cast_member.php
Basically, for local files, you cannot determine the progress
through a single large asset. The best you can do is monitor your
progress through a list of assets.
Another example that might be of help:

  • Function in external file

How do I invoke a function from an external file loaded into
a main movie? I don't want the function to be exicuted until it is
    invoked by the main movie...
    any thoughts are welcome!

    Hi,
In your post on velocity review, you did not compile MyOldHello.c. You compiled a C file that included the header file for it and called a method defined in the header. The linker is never going to be able to find the code for this if you do not include the object file for this.
Try this. You will also have to add in any JNI libraries you need to link against but I am sure you could work that out.
    cl /c MyOldHello.c
    cl /c -Ic:\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\include -Ic:\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\include\win32 -MD HelloWorld.c
    cl /LD MyOldHello.obj HelloWorld.obj /FeHelloWorld.dll

  • Unit Code, Commercial Code - Flat File loading vs BPS Loading

    Hi SDN Community,
Recently, we have moved our flat file loading to be performed by BPS interfaces.
During flat file loads, the Commercial code of all units of measures, are verified.
    eg.DAY
But when loaded by BPS, the UNIT code is verified.
    eg. TAG.
In the display of the BPS upload, it displays DAY which is the commercial code.
The only thing, is the customer is forced to use TAG in the BPS upload files.
They wish to create another record in the transaction
    CUNI to be
    Unit code = DAY
    Commercial code = DAY.
However, i have found that we cannot allocate the same commercial code to another unit code.
Is this a design constraint, or a process error that i am doing.
    Thank you.
    Simon

    04.01.2010 - 02:22:53 CET - Reply by SAP
    Dear customer,
As i do not fully understand how this works, but the base table T006A
has 2 entries, 1 for english, 1 for German, should it not be that the
English EN entry field be working rather that the German DE, hence DAY
should be used? Can you please confirm my understanding on this?
    >>> If you check my attachment "SE16.xls", you can see that it's for
language >>English<<, and the internal format is TAG while the external
    format is DAY.
    - Are there any plans to modify the BPS functionality in newer SAP BW
versions to allow the customer to indicate the same UOM as per flat
file laods? Or is an upgraded Support Pack that allows this?
    - If not, would it be possible to make any customer enhancements to
allow this to take place depending on customer requirements.
    >>> There is no plan at this moment to change this BPS functionality
in newer SAP BW versions or support packages.
We really recommend you to use internal format TAG in the upload file
in BPS which I think should be acceptable and feasible to you. All
other ways trying to use external format is risky and we cannot assure
you that it will work well as it's not SAP standard function. (I think
it's not worth the risk as the standard function which requires
internal format should not be too unacceptable)
    Thanks for your understanding.
I also don't think my BC-SRV-ASF-UOM colleague would be able to help
    you a lot regarding this.

  • UTF-8 characters (e.g À ) are not supporting in batch file

I am trying to add user using batch file, I have used UTF-8 characters in username. I am trying below command net user Àdmin "sdf" /ADD /FULLNAME:Àdmin /COMMENT:"description" I observed that user added successfully but if i see local users
then is shows ├Çdmin in place of Àdmin.
If I run the above command manually on cmd it is working as per expected but it is not working if i execute this command using bat file.
It looks like limitation of bat.
I have gone though few forums and found that this could be the problem of DOS version.
I am using 6.1.7600 DOS version.
    Could anybody help on this.
    Thanks,

chcp 65001 helped me to run UTF-8 batches
    example for unicode character ⬥:
    chcp 65001
    C:\Tools\Code128\Code128Gen.exe 0 "aCLa" 2 D:\Out\128_N2T60_⬥CL⬥.bmp
    C:\Tools\Code128\Code128Gen.exe 0 "aCLAa" 2 D:\Out\128_N2T60_⬥CLA⬥.bmp
    Important:
if your .bat file begins with BOM mark, remove it (switch the encoding to "UTF-8 without BOM") otherwise the interpreter will complain about first line of your batch, for example:
    C:\Tools\Code128>´╗┐chcp 65001
'´╗┐chcp' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.
After some time, original UTF-8 batch file stopped working normally at commands which contained non-ascii characters. Commands were executed normally as before (producing correct output), but this misformatted message was shown at output of each:
C:\Tools\Code128>C:\Tools\Code128\Code128Gen.exeThe system cannot write to the specified device.

  • File links with utf-8 characters don't work in windows

When I click a link like "file:///C:\символы UTF-8\path" to open in Windows File Explorer it doesn't work.
    ("My documents" folder opens instead).
How can such links be converted to Windows encoding, when Windows File Explorer is called?
    My settings:
    network.protocol-handler.expose.file = false
    network.protocol-handler.external.file = true
    FF 27, Windows 7
    Thank you!

I spent many days customizing Firefox and am not going to start over, again.
I'm not a specialist in coding userChrome.css, am very busy with other stuff.
It's better if developers restore ALL of the changes once, than thousands of users will spend many days each.
    Dixi.
    Anyway, my main question is:
'''How to make Firefox send a parameter (filename) to a Windows application, encoded in Windows-1251 instead of UTF-8?
    Would be very grateful.

During a routine verify permissions using my disc utility, I'm getting a WARNING: SUID file "Systems/Library/CoreService….ent" has been modified and will not be repaired. What does this mean?? I'm not awawre that I did anything to cause this and is it somethingI should try to fix?

    1. It means that the current software is installed.
    2. It's not something you should try to fix.
    3. Verifying and repairing permissions shouldn't be done as routine tasks.

  • External Hard drive getting errors when copying files?

When I'm copying files to my hard drive I keep getting errors that the file is in use.  It was originally stopping at around the 167.8MB mark everytime when I try copying files over and giving me that error.  As this is a 1TB HDD I have no way of backing it up until I get to the US (currently studying in Australia).  So just wondering if anyone had ideas.
    Things I've done:
    - Tried using HDD over Firewire/USB and with other Macs still same errors
    - Tried Disk Utility and sometimes it I get no errors with the disk when I do Repair/Verify Disk or I get an error where the disk can't be unmounted
         - I get that error of unmounting when I normally unmount them and I have to unplug the HDD for it to be readable again.
    - I try copying files from it or to it, and sometimes files copy to my Computer entirely even 2GB ones, but other times it stops at random intervals, and it always   stops when copying files to the HDD that never works, usually stops at random times.  :\
Any suggestions, help, or programs I can use for HDD repair would be great!
    Thanks a lot,

Wondering if I could bump this up a bit, still having problems with it.

  • Reading the Blob and writing it to an external file in an xml tree format

    Hi,
We have a table by name clarity_response_log and content of the column(Response_file) is BLOB and we have xml file or xml content in that column. Most probably the column or table may be having more than 5 records and hence we need to read the corresponding blob content and write to an external file.
    CREATE TABLE CLARITY_RESPONSE_LOG
      REQUEST_CODE   NUMBER,
      RESPONSE_FILE  BLOB,
      DATE_CRATED    DATE                           NOT NULL,

      UPDATED_BY     NUMBER                         DEFAULT 1,
      DATE_UPDATED   VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)              DEFAULT SYSDATE
)The xml content in the insert statement is very small because of some reason and cannot be made public and indeed we have a very big xml file stored in the BLOB column or Response_File column

What was wrong with the previous answers given on your other thread:
Export Blob data to text file(-29285-ORA-29285: file write error)
If there's a continuing issue, stay with the same thread, don't just ask the same question again and again, it's really Pi**es people off and causes confusion as not everyone will be familiar with what answers you've already had. You're just wasting people's time by doing that.
As already mentioned before, convert your BLOB to a CLOB and then to XMLTYPE where it can be treated as XML and written out to file in a variety of ways including the way I showed you on the other thread.
You really seem to be struggling to get the worst possible way to work.
