please advise me what shall i do.

Seems You didn't download patch 5746875 and with opatch installed new version of utltzuv2.sql because an existing (old) utltzuv2.sql script you already have installed is not sufficient for scanning the updates in the version 4 of the time zone files.
Please reffer to metalink note 413671.1 section Checking the existing data with utltzuv2.sql

  • Collaboration Room iViews give error -- Database related errors -- Pls Help

    Hello Everyone,
We are on EP 6.0 SP 17 (Netweaver 2004).
KMC component was installed separately (Deployed manually).
We are trying to create simple Collaboration Rooms and we are facing some issues with the same.
I am following the documentation on SAP Help for the Room Creation:
Help  SAP Netweaver 2004  People Integration  Collaboration  Administration Guide
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1d/3d59fdaa5ebb45967ea107d3fa117a/frameset.htm
We are able to create rooms based on pre-defined templates and we are also able to add members to rooms, send/receive the invitation emails. I am able to work with Instant Messaging also.
But the problem is that some of the iViews related to Collaboration Rooms are giving errors.
1.<b> “Discussion” iView gives an error saying “You do not have access permission” (even the user has all the necessary roles assigned).</b>
Log for this error is as follows:

I tried to change the permissions of the “Discussion” iView, but it did not work either.

Are there any database related configurations required for making the Collaboration Room Discussion functionality work properly?
Are there any KM related configurations necessary other than those mentioned in the document I am referring to?
Are there any database related configurations that are required?
I would really appreciate any help in this matter. Please advise me about any ideas you may have?
    Thanks,
    Raj Seelam

    Hello Lars,
First of all thank you for your reply.
    <b>do u use Collaboration first time?</b>
Yes, we just started using Collaboration and this is our first requirement.
    <b>Which roles do u have?</b>
I have all the required roles (Super Admin, Content Management, Collaboration, Collaboration Room Creation).
I know that these features are available in NW04 SP 17 without any limitations. I have reviewed SAP Notes 707730, 711093, 709354 and 946470 also.
This problem is with only a few Collaboration iViews.
I am able to create Rooms, Enter Rooms, Receive Invitation e-mails without any problem.
Any suggestions about any possible missing configurations ?
    Thanks Again,
    Raj

  • Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16

    Hello,
I've encountered issue during installation of SP1 to SQL Server 2012. After upgrade I'm getting this error in Event Log:
Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16. This is a serious error condition which might interfere with regular operation and the database will be taken offline.
If the error happened during upgrade of the 'master' database, it will prevent the entire SQL Server instance from starting. Examine the previous errorlog entries for errors, take the appropriate corrective actions and re-start the database so that the script
    upgrade steps run to completion.
Can someone point me direction how I can fix it? This is a production server and currently only way to make it working is to use T902 flag in SQL Server startup params. I've found some suggestions to check Data path if it exists but it does so this is not
    the issue here. Any ideas?
    I've found also here
    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1377073-1550-1.aspx#bm1378279
suggestions for similar issue with SQL Server 2008 which that I should do:
    Via ssms:
    From msdb:
    Delete:
    dc_admin role
    Dc_operator role
    Dc_proxy role
    UlitityCMRReader role
    UtilityIMRReader role
    UtilityIMRWriter role
but for not I didn't tried it yet. This is standalone SQL Server instance.
    Any help really appreciated.
    Regards

    Script returns the same error.

Before sending my message I've searched update script for "FROM master.sys.master_files" and I found script which you are showing me. I've made some digging and when I runned:
           SELECT physical_name
           FROM master.sys.master_files
           WHERE (name = N'master')
it returned also path to one my customers database name which has filename set correctly but it's Logical DB name is master and mastlog. I'm running shared hosting company and I allow my customers to restore their DBs from .bak files but I have no idea why
this customers logical name is set to master and mastlog. Probably when I change this names update script will work as it should. On the other hand in my opinion there should be some kind of fail safe mechanism for situations like this one.
EDIT: After changing logical name for DB and log for mentioned DB your script runned fine so probably now when I remove T902 flag and restart my SQL Server update will run correctly. Big thanks for resolving this issue.

    Apex 4.2.3
    ORCL: CDB$ROOT
    PDBORCL: PDB$SEED

This is the command that I am using to re-install/upgrade APEX:
    # remove 4.2.2 installation
    cd M:\apex_4.2.3\apex_4.2.3_en\apex
    sqlplus /@ORCL as sysdba
    @apxremov.sql   <<  this was successful

    Install 4.2.3 installation
    sqlplus /@ORCL as sysdba

The APEX  installation fails immediately with the following message:

    ALTER PLUGGABLE DATABASE PDBORCL OPEN
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-65019: pluggable database PDBORCL already open
I am confused…. Which database is not open?
The PDB$SEED is open in (READ ONLY) mode, but that is simply the template database.  I don't think that ever needs to be open in (Read Write) mode.

    sbing52,
I cannot vouch for the specific error that is being returned by catcon.pl, but I would try the following in your situation.
    1. It seems you connect to CDB$ROOT and ran apxremov.sql. This only removed the common APEX option from CDB$ROOT. Your PDB is now in an inconsistent state, since APEX is no longer in the root. I would reconnect to CDB$ROOT and run apxremov_con.sql, make sure you use the one from the 4.2.3 distribution. The one in the ORACLE home will not work.
    2. I would then re-run apexins_con.sql connect to CDB$ROOT. Also, you need to pass the proper parameters. Why are you passing i10wrk? You should be invoking it like:
    @apexins_con.sql SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/

    Hi,
This 3rd time I followed this link. But nothing new, same error.
Can you please tell me how to do follow, I cannt do the 1st step, how to change the local system to windows level account, vice-versa. It is shown mine as
    Server Configuration Manager(Local)
From here I folllowed the steps ---[I cannt insert link/image :-(]
SQL 2008/R2 setup fails with "Wait on the database engine recovery handle failed"
If I right clicked on SQL Server Service, there is no option to change the account.
    Hello,
Thanks for your patience, did you tried stesp mentioned in below article
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqljourney/archive/2012/03/16/sql-2008-r2-setup-fails-with-quot-wait-on-the-database-engine-recovery-handle-failed-quot.aspx
To resolve it, follow these steps:-
When the installation throws this error, click on OK and allow it to proceed. It will fail for Database Engine, but the SQL Server service should have
been created. Check the Services console.
If the service is present, perform the following steps:-
    1. Go to SQL Server Configuration manager, right click on the SQL Server service, and change the service account (if it is local system, give
it a windows level account, and vice-versa). It might throw a WMI error but you will see the account getting updated anyway. If not, then use the Services console. Change the account for SQL Agent as well.
Use this link to change sql server service account
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345578.aspx
    2. Next, try to start the service. It should come online.
    3. However, you will not be able to log in to the SQL Server
    4. Now stop the service and start it from the command prompt using -m -c -T3608 parameters.
    5. Now try logging in to the server using admin connection from sqlcmd (sqlcmd admin:<server name>\<instance name> ...)
    6. Once logged in, use the sp_addsrvrolemember '<domain\username>','sysadmin'.
Also add the builtin/administrators to the sysadmin role
    7. Now stop the service from the command prompt and start it from SQL Server configuration manager
You should be able to log in to the server now.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 SQL Database Upgrade Fails : Setup cannot upgrade the ConfigMgr database. Contact your SQL administrator.

    Hi Friends,
We have planned to upgrade our SCCM 2012 SP1 infrastructure to SCCM 2012 R2 so we have setup test environment to test SQL database upgrade before doing same in production.
But while testing SQL database upgrade on test machine, it is getting failed with below error.
    ConfigMgrSetupWizard.log
ConfigMgrSetupWizard Verbose: 1 : Scripted setup failure handling callback called. Failure: 29.
ConfigMgrSetupWizard Verbose: 1 : Received error [Setup cannot upgrade the ConfigMgr database. Contact your SQL administrator.] from native code.
    ConfigMgrSetup.log
ERROR: SQL Server error: [23000][2627][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'ContentDistribution_PK'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.ContentDistribution'. The duplicate key value is (921). :
    tr_ContentDistributionNotification_insert
    ERROR: Failed to execute SQL Server command:  ~-- ~-- Rebuild ContentDistribution tables ~-- ~IF (EXISTS(SELECT TOP 1 1 FROM dbo.SMSData WHERE SMSBuildNumber <=  7900) AND dbo.fnIsSecondary() != 1) ~BEGIN ~    exec spRebuildContentDistribution
    @TruncateTables=0 ~END
Failed to create process of SetupWpf.exe.
Can anyone please help to get this resolved.
    Thanks.

We found out that there were duplicate entries in the PkgStatus_G and the PkgServers_G tables in the SCCM DB.  We identified them, deleted them , and then we were able to run the /TESTDBUPGRADE command and it went through fine.  We performed
all of this on a COPY of the PROD DB and then moved the changes in PROD.  Hope this helps someone.

  • The SELECT permissions was denied on the object 'extended_properties', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'.(Microsoft SQL Server, Error:229

I have a SQL Server connected intro a Windows Server 2003 Domain Active Directory, the server holds a default instance with a single Database, the SQL Server is 2005 Std Edition, and is using mix mode Authentification, then I able to create SQL Native Users
and Invoque Windows Domain Users also.
The Goal of this project is remove the sysadmin Server role for all the Windows Domain Users, to give then a more granular secure model but at the moment is this only way to connect at the Data Base Server.
I already create Native SQL Servers users without any problem!, they respect Securable Setting, Server Roles, User Mapping, everything...Just when I create a Login Profile form a Domain Users and apply the same setting, I get this error...
The SELECT permissions was denied on the object 'extended_properties', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'.(Microsoft SQL Server, Error:229)
But if the user have sysadmin Server Rol he can sing over the server without any issue, I review the .sys view extended_properties and "Public" is the only Database Role placed.
Any Idea if I need change any Setting in the Secure in SQL Master DataBase? or which is the issue witjh this matter?
Thank in advance for your help!

Since there are so many possibilities for what might be wrong.  Here's another possibility to look at.  I ran into something where I had set up my own roles on a database.  (For instance, "Administrator", "Manager", "DataEntry",
"Customer", each with their own kinds of limitations)  The only ones who could use it were "Manager" role or above--because they were also set up as sysadmin because they were adding users to the database (and they were highly trusted).
Also, the users that were being added were Windows Domain users--using their domain credentials.  (Everyone with access to the database had to be on our domain, but not everyone on the domain had access to the database--and only a few of them had access
    to change it.)
Anyway, this working system suddenly stopped working and I was getting error messages similar to the above.  What I ended up doing that solved it was to go through all the permissions for the "public" role in that database and add those permissions
to all of the roles that I had created.  I know that everyone is supposed to be in the "public" role even though you can't add them (or rather, you can "add" them, but they won't "stay added").
So, in "SQL Server Management Studio", I went into my application's database, in other words (my localized names are obscured within <> brackets): "<Computername> (SQL Server <version> - sa)"\Databases\<MyAppDB>\Security\Roles\Database
Roles\public".  Right-click on "public" and select "Properties".  In the "Database Role Properties - public" dialog, select the "Securables" page.  Go through the list and for each element in the
list, come up with an SQL "Grant" statement to grant exactly that permission to another role.  So, for instance, there is a scalar function "[dbo].[fn_diagramobjects]" on which the "public" role has "Execute" privilege.
So, I added the following line:
    EXEC ( 'GRANT EXECUTE ON [dbo].[fn_diagramobjects] TO [' + @RoleName + '];' )
Once I had done this for all the elements in the "Securables" list, I wrapped that up in a while loop on a cursor selecting through all the roles in my roles table.  This explicitly granted all the permissions of the "public" role to
my database roles.  At that point, all my users were working again (even after I removed their "sysadmin" access--done as a temporary measure while I figured out what happened.)
I'm sure there's a better (more elegant) way to do this by doing some kind of a query on the database objects and selecting on the public role, but after about half and hour of investigating, I wasn't figuring it out, so I just did it the brute-force method.
In case it helps someone else, here's my code.

Once that is in the system, I just needed to "Exec GrantAccess" to make it work.  (Of course, I have a table [RoleList] which contains a "AppRoleName" field that contains the names of the database roles.)
So, the mystery remains: why did all my users lose their "public" role and why could I not give it back to them?  Was this part of an update to SQL Server 2008 R2?  Was it because I ran another script to delete each user and add them back
so to refresh their connection with the domain?  Well, this solves the issue for now.
One last warning: you probably should check the "public" role on your system before running this to make sure there isn't something missing or wrong, here.  It's always possible something is different about your system.

Since there are so many possibilities for what might be wrong.  Here's another possibility to look at.  I ran into something where I had set up my own roles on a database.  (For instance, "Administrator", "Manager", "DataEntry", "Customer",
each with their own kinds of limitations)  The only ones who could use it were "Manager" role or above--because they were also set up as sysadmin because they were adding users to the database (and they were highly trusted).  Also, the users that
were being added were Windows Domain users--using their domain credentials.  (Everyone with access to the database had to be on our domain, but not everyone on the domain had access to the database--and only a few of them had access to change it.)
Anyway, this working system suddenly stopped working and I was getting error messages similar to the above.  What I ended up doing that solved it was to go through all the permissions for the "public" role in that database and add those permissions to
all of the roles that I had created.
Go through the list and for each element in the list, come up with an SQL "Grant" statement to
grant exactly that permission to another role.
This explicitly granted all the permissions of the "public" role to my database roles.
In case it helps someone else, here's my code.

but when i login to SAP and run any transactions it is giving a message
    START_CALL_SICK.
Please let me know whether i can run MS SQL 2005 server with NW2004

    hello Balaji,
You can ignore this error. Basically just restart the system. I would say reboot the machine. restart database and then SAP. However before that execute the transaction SICK and look for any errors. If there are any error then you need to solve them. May be you can paste them here. MS SQL 2005 is supported with Netwaeaver 04.
    Check this:

    Greetings,
These are the steps I use to install Apex 3.2 on Oracle XE:
    1.     Install Oracle Database Express
    2.     Download the latest version of Oracle Application Express.
    3.     Extract the zip file to “C:\OracleXE”. The unzip process will create the necessary “root” folder as it is extracting.
    4.     Open a terminal session and:
    Change directory to c:\oraclexe\apex
    Type: sqlplus /nolog
    Type: connect sys as sysdba
NOTE: You will be prompted to supply the password.
Type: @apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/
    5.     Once you have completed the standard install, you need to perform the following steps to complete the upgrade:
    a.     Find the file called APXLDIMG.SQL and change:
    FROM:
    create directory APEX_IMAGES as ‘&1/apex/images’ ;
    TO:
    create directory APEX_IMAGES as ‘c:\oraclexe\apex\images’ ;
    b.     Follow the directions in Step 4 to open a terminal session.
    i.     Type: @apxldimg.sql
ii.     Type: @apxxepwd.sql password (where password is the password of the Application Express internal ADMIN account)
    6.     Exit from the SQL*Plus session.
    7.     Change directory to c:\oraclexe\apex\owa, open the README.TXT file and follow the instructions within to complete the installation

    Hi nikp11,
According to your description, you recently updated SQL Server 2008 R2 to SP3, Report Builder doesn’t work since then the error occurs: "Application validation did not succeed. Unable to continue".
This is an known issue in SSRS 2008 R2 SP3 that Microsoft has published an article addressing this issue. It is not planning to release a fix for this issue. But we could implement one of the following workarounds:
Install and run Report Builder 3.0 of SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM.
Install and run Report Builder of SQL Server 2014.
Uninstall Service Pack 3 then uninstall Service Pack 2 and then reinstall Service Pack 3.
    Reference:
Report Builder of SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 3 does not launch
    Thank you for your understanding.
    Best Regards,
    Wendy Fu

Ouch, if it is indeed damaged, then sadly you need to restore the whole danged huge OS!
Didn't used to be this way before Lion/10.7.
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.
