  • Windows 7 - Apple Application Support was not found.  Error Message

    Hello Folks,
i keep getting the following message, despite the fact that i have uninstalled Itunes and then installed it again a few times.
"Apple Application Support was not found.  Please uninstall, and install again.  Error 2 (Windows Error 2).
    Can anyone suggest any help?
I have a Windows 7, new Dell Latitude machine.
    THank you,

"Apple Application Support was not found.  Please uninstall, and install again.  Error 2 (Windows Error 2).
Is Apple Application Support currently showing as installed in your Uninstall a program control panel?
If not, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • HT6001 I have tried numerous time to update iTunes to Version 11.1.4.  Each time it has failed. I get the message of "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found".  Also I get a message of "Error 7". Advise please.

I have tried numerous time to update iTunes to version 11.1.4.  It has failed every time.  Now I can't even get into iTunes on my PC.  The message I get is "This application has failed to start because MSVCR60.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix the problem."  Okay. Which application?  What steps are needed for this process?
Also, I get this message "iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 126)"  Could someone please assist me in the steps necessary to remedy this issue.  Thanks.

For many users at this point in time (iTunes 11.1.4.62) uninstalling iTunes alone is not enough and they may need to undertake further steps...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I just replaced my hard drive and restored everything from Time machine. However, I am unable to open iphoto and the following message appears Your photo library was not found. Do you want to find your iPhoto Library?
Where do I find this library?
    thanks
    Shak

Twas quite a hassle if I am honest which was eventually resolved but I don't feel qualified to help anyone through the process as it required a trip to my local apple store and a genius bar appointment.
Personally, I would do anything like moving pictures out of folders etc. Certainly not creating a new users. i don't think that is an elegant solution
Try the following which MAY just about rescue the situation for you but if they don't work you may have to do something more drastic.
    (1) Holding down Cmd & Alt at the same time, start iPhoto by clicking on the iPhoto icon. From the resulting menu choose Rebuild photo library by selecting all available options given to you and then pressing REBUILD!
    If that doesn't work
    (2) Fire up Utilities. Go to migration assistant. Chose 'From another Time machine back-up'. Open the 'Users' option that comes up next and from there select Pictures, then uncheck everything else like Applications etc (you don't want to do a full migration of everything) and click go.
If that doesn't work, take a deep breath and this step is rather complicated but it worked for me. First of all close iPhoto! Then go to new Finder window.
From the Finder window choose Pictures, then iPhoto library, press CMD and the letter i. It brings up a new window. Go to Sharing & permissions. From there select the padlock to unlock settings. and then select User account, then press the 'cog' icon next to +/- abd choose Apply to enclosed items.
This may take a while. Once completed, re-open iPhoto.
And that should (I stress should) cure it.
    Good luck.

  • Error message - The HP Deskjet 1510 Series was not found

I bought the Deskjet 1514 on 19/07/15 and installed it on my relatively new laptop. It worked ok, then I did the Windows 10 upgrade on 01/08/15. I installed the updated drivers from HP for this device. What ever I do, (have uninstalled software, reinstalled at least 4 times, used the scan doctor, swapped USB cables and ports, cleaned the disk...) I just get the message The HP Deskjet 1510 series was not found, yet when aligning the ink cartridges the scanner will work but I cannot do the test scan in the scan doctor or scan anything using the HP software (which you have to do as there is no proper control panel on the actual device). As bought the device primarily as a scanner, I am not happy and just want the thing to work but haven't a clue how to proceed except to take the thing back to Tesco and get a refund and buy a Canon instead... Please can anyone help as the HP support is useless? The printer part is working fine, which makes it ridiculous.

Hey , Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that your HP Deskjet 1514 All-in-One Printer is not being detected via the USB Cable connection on your Windows 10 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this installation and product detection issue. Thank you for including all of the troubleshooting steps that you have attempted prior to reaching out for support. At this time I am going to have you complete some additional troubleshooting steps. We will be repeating the uninstall process for troubleshooting today as it is crucial that we have a nice clean slate to work with. Please complete all of the steps below.   Please disconnect the USB Cable from your printer and computer before proceeding.   Step 1:  Remove Driver:  1. Click on your Start button    2. Type Programs and Features in the 'Ask me Anything' box to the right of the Start button. If you just start typing when the Start screen is open it should automatically start typing in the 'Ask me Anything' section.   3. When Programs and Features opens scroll down the list of populated programs and look for your HP Deskjet. If you see your HP Deskjet listed please click on it and choose Uninstall. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the uninstall.  4. Next, click on the Start button and type Devices in the 'Ask me Anything' box  5. Click Devices and Printers   6. Under the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Deskjet.  If the HP Deskjet is listed, please right click on it and select 'Remvoe Device' or 'Delete' 7. Next, under the Printers section in the Devices and Printers window, click on any printer that shows once just to highlight it. Click on Print Server Properties at the top of the window.  8. Under Print Server Properties, click on the Drivers tab. 9. If you see your HP Deskjet listed under Drivers, click on it and choose Remove at the bottom. 10. Click Remove Driver Only 11. Select OK 12. Select Apply and OK under the Print Server Properties window 13. Close Devices and Printers. Please proceed to the next step.    Step 2: Clear Temp Files:  1. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item. 6. Close the Temp folder once it is emptied 7. Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin. Please proceed to the last step.    Step 3: Install Device: Please click here to download and run the HP Printer Install WizardOnce the download has completed please follow the steps under the PIW to install your devicePlug in the USB Cable only when prompted by the installerOnce the installation has completed successfully please test printing and scanning to confirm that your product is functioning as per normal. Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. • Updating iTunes with error message "this application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found"?

After updating iTunes, has anyone got the message "this application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." message and "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)"?  I've tried everything from un-installing and re-installing iTunes to deleting the SC Info. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • WinRM cannot process the request. The following error occured while using Kerberos authentication: The network path was not found.

I have two forests with a transitive on-way trust between them: PROD -> TEST (test trusts PROD). I had previously had kerberos authentication working with winrm from PROD to machines in TEST. I have verified the trust is healthy, I also verified users
in TEST can use WINRM with kerberos just fine. Users from PROD cannot connect via kerberos to machines in TEST with winrm.
I have verified the service has registered the appropriate SPNs. I ran dcdiag against all my PROD and TEST domain controllers and didn't find anything that would prevent kerberos from happening. I even tried disabling the firewall entirely on my TEST dcs
but that didn't gain me anything.
I've enabled kerberos logging but only see the expected errors such as it couldn't find a PROD SPN for the machine, which it shouldn't from what I understand, it should go to the TEST domain and find the SPN from there.
I'm really out of next steps before I call PSS and hope someone here has run into this and could provide me some next steps.

    Hi Adam,
I'm a little unclear about which SPNs you were looking for, in which case could you confirm you were checking that on the computer object belonging to the actual destination host it has the following SPNs registered?
    WSMAN/<NetBIOS name>
    WSMAN/<FQDN>
If you were actually trying to use WinRM to connect to the remote forest's domain controllers, then what you said makes sense, but I was caught between assuming this was the case or you meant another member server in that remote forest.
Also, from the client trying to connect to this remote server, are you able to telnet to port 5985? (If you've used something other than the default, try that port)
If you can't, then you've got something else like a firewall (be that the Windows firewall on the destination or a hardware firewall somewhere in between) blocking you at the port level, or the listener on the remote box just isn't working as expected. I
just replied to your other winrm post with steps for checking the latter, so I won't repeat myself here.
If you can telnet to it and the SPNs exist, then you might be up against something called selective authentication which has to do with how the trust was defined. You can have a read of
this to learn a bit more about selective trusts and whether or not it's affecting you.
    Cheers,
    Lain
