(V9I) ORA-2095 WHEN MODIFYING LARGE_POOL_SIZE OR JAVA_POOL_SIZE
제품 : ORACLE SERVER
작성날짜 : 2004-05-03
(V9I) ORA-2095 WHEN MODIFYING LARGE_POOL_SIZE OR JAVA_POOL_SIZE
===============================================================
PURPOSE
이 자료는 Oracle 9i에서 LARGE_POOL_SIZE 또는 JAVA_POOL_SIZE 파라미터를
동적으로 변경하려고 할 때 발생하는 ORA-2095 에러를 해결하는 방법에
대한 자료이다.
Problem Description
SQL*Plus 상에서 LARGE_POOL_SIZE 또는 JAVA_POOL_SIZE 파라미터를 동적으로
변경하려고 할 때, 즉, Dynamic SGA 기능을 이용하려 할 때 ORA-2095
error가 발생한다.
SQL> alter system set large_pool_size=32m scope=memory;
alter system set large_pool_size=32m scope=memory
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02095: specified initialization parameter cannot be modified
SQL> alter system set large_pool_size=32m scope=spfile;
alter system set large_pool_size=32m scope=spfile
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02095: specified initialization parameter cannot be modified
SQL> alter system set large_pool_size=32m scope=both;
alter system set large_pool_size=32m scope=both
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02095: specified initialization parameter cannot be modified
위의 예와 같은 상황이 JAVA_POOL_SIZE parameter에 대해서도 나타난다.
Workaround
none
Solution Description
새로운 파라미터 값 지정 시, single quote를 지정한다.
SQL> alter system set LARGE_POOL_SIZE='32M' SCOPE=spfile;
System altered.
SQL> alter system set JAVA_POOL_SIZE='50M' SCOPE=spfile;
System altered.
Explanation
1. LARGE_POOL_SIZE 와 JAVA_POOL_SIZE 파라미터는 Oracle 9i에서
static parameter 이다.
이 두 파라미터는 오직 SPFILE scope 내에서만 변경될 수 있다.
2. LARGE_POOL_SIZE 와 JAVA_POOL_SIZE 파라미터에 저장되는 값은
NUMERIC 값이 아니라, STRING 값이다. 따라서, SPFILE scope 내에서
이 파라미터 값들을 변경하기 위해서는 character string으로 값을
명시해야 한다.

ORA-30036 when modifying column in large table
Oracle version 10.2.0.4
Afternoon everyone!
I have a large table that I need to modify a column in - increasing from CHAR(3) to CHAR(6)
On altering the table I'm getting an ORA-30036: unable to extend segment but 8 in undo tablespace
Increasing undo tbs size isn't really an option, and I don't really want to go copying the table elsewhere either - again due to space limitations.
Is there a way to avoid this undo exhaustion? Will disabling logging for this table solve my issue? Or is there another way similar to the 'checkpoint' clause you can use when dropping columns?
Many thanks!
Adam MJust in case nothing better appears and you can't increase the UNDO ...
1. Create a new table with the correct datatype
2. Insert data from the old table to the new table, in batches if necessary. Divide the data by key values if possible or get a range of rowids to process or something
3. Make sure dependent objects are created for the new table
4. drop the old table
5. rename the old table to the new table -
ORA-01776: cannot modify more than one base table through a join view
I have created EO based on a database view than consists of two tables, and only one is updateable.
When I try to update a row using EO, I got a following message: "ORA-01776-cannot modify more than one base table through a join view"
In Forms, this issue is resolved by setting "Query Only" property of non-updateable items to "True".
Is it possible to do something like that in ADF BC?
ThanksThanks for answer.
When I set "updateable" property to "Never", that attribute is protected from any change.
I'm sorry for incomplete usecase.
I have set up a list of value on that attribute, because it is a lookup field for another table and I need to get an ID from that table.
Basically, I need that attribute to be updateble for BC, but not for database.

ORA-00604 & ORA-30512 CANNOT MODIFY TABLE MORE THAN ONCE IN A TRANSACTION
We have a requirement where two tables should be in sync at any given point
in time with respect to the structure of the tables.
Any change on table/column via ALTER (MODIFY, ADD, RENAME COLUMN, DROP
COLUMN) on the parent table should be replicated to the replica table.
I created a DDL_TRIGGER on the schema and the desired result is achieved but
for the following one scenario for which its failing.
The issue is, if we try to reduce the width of the column (via ALTER ..
MODIFY) it fails with the following error
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-30512: cannot modify DEVTESTF_OIM.REPLICA_ABC more than once in a
transaction
Please follow the steps to reproduce the issue (the issue is across the DB
version checked on 10.2, 11.1 and 11.2 DB version)
-- Step1 Create Parent Table
CREATE TABLE abc (col1 VARCHAR2(10))
-- Step2 Create Replica Table
CREATE TABLE replica_abc (col1 VARCHAR2(10))
-- Step3 Create DDL Trigger
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER ddl_trigger

IF ora_dict_obj_name = 'ABC' THEN

l_count := l_count + INSTR(l_sqltext,'DISABLE',1,1);
l_count := l_count + INSTR(l_sqltext,'DROP CONSTRAINT',1,1);
l_count := l_count + INSTR(l_sqltext,'PRIMARY KEY',1,1);

l_count := l_count + INSTR(l_sqltext,'MODIFY',1,1);
l_count := l_count + INSTR(l_sqltext,'DROP COLUMN',1,1);
l_count := l_count + INSTR(l_sqltext,'RENAME
COLUMN',1,1);
IF (l_count >0) THEN
l_sqltext := REPLACE(l_sqltext,'TABLE ABC','TABLE REPLICA_ABC');
execute immediate l_sqltext;
END IF;
END IF;
END IF;
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN
RAISE ;
END;
-- Step 4 Issue the following ALTER command on the Parent table 'ABC'
ALTER TABLE ABC MODIFY COL1 VARCHAR2(9);
will show the following
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-30512: cannot modify DEVTESTF_OIM.REPLICA_ABC more than once in a
transaction
ORA-06512: at line 34
whereas the following commands works fine
ALTER TABLE ABC MODIFY COL1 VARCHAR2(11);
and also the rest of the operations
ALTER TABLE ABC ADD COL2 VARCHAR2(20);
ALTER TABLE ABC RENAME COLUMN COL2 TO COL3;
ALTER TABLE ABC DROP COLUMN COL3;
The issue is while reducing the size of VARCHAR2 columns, while the rest of
option works fine.
Any suggestion or workaround please.It looks like a bug to me. The failing statement from the SQL trace is

Unable to Insert record In forms: error -ORA-01779 :cannot modify a column
Hi,
I have created one form with two block.
Block-1 : Based on View
Block-2 : Based on table
There is is relationship between Block-1 and Block-2.
Block-1 is populating from LOV.
I just need to insert /update record Block-2 based on data from Block-1
So Block-1 I have made read only at runtime (Inser/update all properties are false).
Now when I insert record in Block-2 based on record from block-1, and getting below error.
"ORA-01779: cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table"
It is not allowing to insert record.
Please help me.
SubirThe error states that there is some operation on a view, not an a table.
Now when I insert record in Block-2 based on record from block-1What does that mean? How do you insert records in block 2?
When exactly occurs the error? -

Thank you for your reply
First i try to connection test via R3load -testconnect
It is ok.
This problem not correct password of SAPR3. so i modify table SAPUSER OF OPS$ schema. I refer to Note 400241 - Problems with ops$ or sapr3 connect to Oracle
Second.
I retry SAPINST gui of sapinst.exe with button "retry".
but this error message the below.
I guess this IDES System is MDMP codepage.

Tnsnames.ora error when installing oracle 9i developer suite
Hi,
Can anyone answer this question: I recently installed
oracle 9i and i'm getting a tnsnames.ora error when connecting to the database. Can anyone tell me what parameters to modify in the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files and what values to put in these parameters. Also,
i'm trying to create a net_service_name in oracle net manager(in configuration/management tools) and I can't figure out the service name for versions of Oracle 8i or later. Can someone tell me what this is because the program is asking for a service name. I need this info
for connecting to the database by username/password@net_service_name. Please respond soon.
Thank you.
T. PatelGo Net8Assistant. Follow the tree Net8Config ->Local -> Service Naming. In this node you will find all instances set (SIDs) and by clicking on them you will see in the right hand part of the screen if they were set or not in tnsnames.ora.
Another way: Usually the database service name is OracleServiceSID. Go Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and check out the Oracle Service name. Take the SID from there to tnsnames.ora.
You should have write down the name you was asked for while you were installing Oracle (or the default name that the installer put for you).
Hope this will help you

ORA-01779: cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table

NUMBERHi,
As the error message sugggested, INSERT directly into the sales table. You can get the values from a sub-query that joins whatever tables are needed, including sales itself. MERGE might be simpler and more efficient than INSERT.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and also post the results you want from that data.
If you're asking about a DML statement, such as INSERT, the sample data will be the contents of the table(s) before the DML, and the results will be state of the changed table(s) when everything is finished.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).

Getting ORA-01403:, when it shouldn't
Greetings, i apologize beforehand for my spelling, name(takes 6 hours to change) and the headache you migth get, however,
i bring you the following code, and test results:
------Procedure wich throws the error-------
create or replace
procedure P_COLEGAS(x in number) as
ctipo varchar2(20);
asd varchar2(20);
cursor curnombre is
select nombre from unidad,elemento where (elemento.id_elem=unidad.id_elem and unidad.tipo=ctipo and elemento.ciudad=asd);
begin
select unidad.tipo, elemento.ciudad into ctipo,asd from unidad,elemento where unidad.id_elem=x and elemento.id_elem=x;
for blah in curnombre loop
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('nombre unidad: '||blah.nombre||' ');
end loop;
end;
-what i get when executing the procedure-
Error que empieza en la línea 1 del comando:
exec p_colegas(19)
Informe de error:
ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at "BD00.P_COLEGAS", line 9
ORA-06512: at line 1
01403. 00000 - "no data found"
*Cause:
*Action:-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------the real problem--------------------
if in that procedure i were to write
(1)
select unidad.tipo into ctipo from unidad where unidad.id_elem=x;(2)
select elemento.ciudad into asd from elemento where elemento.id_elem=x;instead the single query i wrote, we get the following:
(1) works wonderfull, only gets the error when there are no matches for x.
(2) throws the error i showed before.
however when i do the following query in the worksheet and execute it:
(3)
select elemento.ciudad from elemento where elemento.id_elem=x;i get what i expected to get 1 row 1 column.(yes it has data)
note: in (3) the only difference is that i remove the into clause, and x is the same number i used when i execute the procedure.
--------------------the question------------------------
why in the procedure, the query (2) fail to fetch the data, the same data wich the query(3) does not fail to fetch?
i'm getting ORA-01403, when i shouldn't?
is there a work around to this problem?
--------------------what i try------------------------------
nested the query with it's own error handle exception, getting the same results, just catches the error with a different handling.
tool used: sql developer
-Example data--
tested the procedure with the following example data in a brand new workspace getting the same error.

ORA-12839: cannot modify an object in parallel after modifying it
Hi,
I am facing a Problem when I am trying to Update a Table:
ORA-12839: cannot modify an object in parallel after modifying it
How to rectify it?
Any help will be highly needful
Thanks and RegardsOr if it needs to be the same transaction leave away any parallelization part as e.g. an append hint:
SQL> create table emp2 as select * from emp where 1=2
Table created.
SQL> insert /*+ append */ into emp2 select * from emp
14 rows created.
SQL> update emp2 set sal=200 where empno=7788

Why does iTunes freeze up for minutes at a time when modifying INFO (CMD-i) ? My files are not corrupted after it is done like many other threads i have readed. Sometimes it's changing the title of a movie or editing the season and episode number of a TV show ect.....
Yup same here
I am running the latest iTunes, the latest updates to the OS and on an iMac 3.4GHz Quad core i7 with 8GB of RAM and the music stored on local HDD.
Still locks up iTunes for between 2 minutes up to 20 minutes.
Really annoying.
If you find a fix please, please let me know, I have just been throwing hardware at it with no joy at all -

ORA-19007 when coping a table with an xml type in it to a new schema in the same database.
Hi all,
When I copy a table with an xml type in it to a new schema in the same database I get an ora-19009.
The setup is as follows I have a schema a with table TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE where data is:
CREATE

FOLDER_ID NUMBER (10, 0) NOT NULL,
SEARCH_PROPERTIES XMLTYPE ,
CONSTRAINT TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE PK PRIMARY KEY (FOLDERID) USING INDEX

"http://xxxxxxx.net/FolderProperties.xsd" element "FolderProperties"
VARRAY SEARCH_PROPERTIES."XMLDATA"."PROPERTIES"."PROPERTY" STORE AS TABLE
PROPERTY_TABLE
(PRIMARY KEY (NESTED_TABLE_ID, ARRAY_INDEX)) ORGANIZATION INDEX OVERFLOW
Both schemas have the following xml schema registered as a local xml schema
BEGIN

END;
when I try to do the following insert:
insert into schemaB.TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE ( FOLDER_ID, SEARCH_PROPERTIES)
select FOLDER_ID, SEARCH_PROPERTIES from schemaB.TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE;
I’ll get an ora-19007.
Can some one point me in the right direction how to solve this error.
Thanks Roelof.Who did you create the second table, in other words, how did you COPY the table as you said...
If you created the second table via a CTAS (create table as select) then you will have created a table that is not the same as the original one. AFAIK I have once created an enhancement request for this after discovering that JDeveloper, for example, creates a "copy" via a CTAS which creates the wrong structure. Double check via package DBMS_METADATA.
SQL> set long 1000000
SQL> select DBMS_METADATA('TABLE','TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE','SchemaA') from dual;
SQL> select DBMS_METADATA('TABLE','TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE','SchemaB') from dual;If you have got two different tables, than Mark's solution should help.

ORA-01152 when restoring from RMAN backupset in NOARCHIVELOG mode
Hi all,
I got the error ORA-01152 when I tried restoring an Oracle 10g R1 database from an RMAN backupset into a new server. The error returned when it reached to the level of opening the database in resetlogs.

Problems publishing a web-access on Sharepoint: Error when modifying list schemes
Good afternoon.
I have an application built with an access database with several forms and web macros which is published on Sharepoint 2010. Through this application - not too big not too complex (ca. 10 tables / less than 2000 records at most) - I receive updates
that are loaded into external applications, mainly excel worksheets, ms project files and so on.
I have been going through the cycle of developing and publishing new versions of the application on the same site for more than a year; suddenly, from severeal weeks ago on, I started receiving the following error affecting random tables (not always the
same) which crashes the compilation and publishing:
"Error when modifying lists schemes. Changing name to "ID" field on list XXXX failed"
And each time the list is different. And of course I am no trying at all to change the name of any ID field !????
Any clue of what might be happening?
