Validate related invoices from pl/sql?

Hello,
Does anybody know how to run "validate related invoices" from pl/sql?
thanks in advance!

You can use WWCTX_API.SET_CONTEXT - this is documented in the
PLSQL PDK.

• Using relational data from SQL data source in Planning and Essbase

Hi,
How do I take sample data from a SQL data source and bring it into a Hyperion Planning application? I understand that when creating Planning applications, a link between a relational data source and Essbase must be established, because the relational database holds the metadata while the database outline is stored with Essbase. However, all I am currently able to do is load the data into Planning applicaitons via EAS, where I right-click on the Application database, hit load data, and select from either a .txt file or an excel file. Do I need Oracle Data Integrator? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated, as well as corrections to any incorrect assumptions I may have made in this post. Thank you.

When you import your file (Excel or text), you're importing it using a Load Rule in EAS. To load from SQL, you simply create a SQL load rule. You'll load data the exact same way (via EAS), but with a different type of load rule. The load rule will contain the SQL that queries the database. You can preview your data in the load rule the same way you would with a file.
If your SQL is very complex, I'd recommend creating a view and loading from that view. But otherwise it's pretty straight-forward.
The only catch is that you need to configure a database connection (to your relational database) on the Essbase server. The Essbase DBA guide will show you how to do this.
You COULD use ODI, but I tend to only use it for loading metadata.
Hope this helps,
- Jake

• FV60 - validate duplicate invoices by reference and vendor number

Hi,
How to configure the system to validate duplicated invoice by REFERENCE AND VENDOR NUMBER irrespective of dates? This validation need in FV60.

Hi Paul,
if you want a duplicate invoice check from the FI side, then you may have to activate BTE 1110 by creating your own Z function module (by copying FM SAMPLE_PROCESS_00001110).
In FI,when checking for duplicated invoices, the system compares the following : Vendor, currency, company code, gross amount of the invoice,reference document number and Invoice document date.
Also refer to SAP Note 305201. It clarifies this in more details.The following fields must be identical for Duplicate invoice check
Company code (BUKRS)
Vendor number (LIFNR)
Currency (WAERS)
Reference number (XBLNR)
Amount in document currency (WRBTR)
Document date (BLDAT)
If the document is having any one of the above filed different then the system does not consider it as a duplicate invoice.
In OB41, also check whether the Posting Key is defined as Sales-related. You have to flag this field if the duplicate invoice check is to work.

• Moving from MS SQL 7 to Oracle 8i

We are thinking about moving one of our client/server applications from MS SQL 7.0 to Oracle 8i. We know that we will have to change some of the datatypes in the database. But will there have to be a major rewrite of the backend code (stored procedures, triggers, views, etc...)? Does Oracle 8i support SQL or just PL-SQL and JAVA?

Thank you all, at the end, i have fixed the problem. It seems root cause of the problem is my regional settings.
I have completed to transfer my Sql schema to Oracle with errors. Migration Wizard gives errors in the stage of creating relations. It is something like that,
Failed to create foreign key: ORA-02298 Cannot validate - Parent keys cannot find
I have also tried to migrate my sql data but when the wizard finishes running, a large amount of my data is also lost.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you.

• Use evdre to query data from a SQL View

Hi all
I believe that it is possible to use evdre to query data from a SQL View. If this is possible then how does one go about setting it up in the evdre options (assuming that the view has already been created)?
Regards,
Byron

Byron, perhaps this is no longer supported, it might be worth opening up a case at service.sap.com on this. However, I did find the following on Page 11 of the "Usages and Considerations of EVDRE" pdf file. This doc is imbedded in the helpfile for BPC 7 SP5 (which was released in August of 2009, well after note 1315011 was last updated.
It looks like you are limited to one custom view per application, since you have to name the view in a parameter at the APPLICATION level. Go into BPC Administration, login to the application related to the custom view, choose "Set Application Parameters" and enter the name of the view to the Application Parameter called "EVDRE_QUERYVIEWNAME" If it is not listed, go ahead and create it at the bottom of the Application parameter screen.
Also: I interpreted the following info from Page 10 of the same doc:
In your EVDRE, set the following options:
QueryEngine: MANUAL
QueryType: enter either NEXJ OR TUPLE see below:
NEXJ - Use two-dimensional queries using the nonemptycrossjoin function
TUPLE - Use two-dimensional queries using tuples"
And I'm assuming you'd enter a Y for the following two parameters:
QueryViewName
"..to enforce the query engine to use a used-defined SQL view of the fact tables, when trying to read the values using SQL queries. This option is typically used in conjunction with the SQLOnly option (see below). "
Option SQLOnly
"..to enforce the query engine to only execute SQL queries, when reading data. This can be achieved using this option."

• Cannot create A/R Invoice from Delivery

Hi everyone.
I have a Delivery based on a Sales Order and want to make an A/R Invoice from the Delivery using the "Copy to" button on the Delivery form. When I do that I get the following message:
"One or more down payment that are linked to the base document(s) have not been paid. Continue?"
When I press "Yes" the following error occurs:
"Business partner of copied down payment document must be the same as business partner of target document."
But I didn't create any down payments.
Do you have any suggestions as to what may be the cause of the problem?
Vladimir.

Hi Vladimir,
What is your B1 version and PL? Is there any relation between your question and SDK?
Thanks,
Gordon

I realize this might not be to much help but everytime I have ever gotten an internal error code it has always turned out to be a SQL error. For instance there could be something in transaction notification that doesnt jive with your submission or something along those lines. Perhaps you could try a more simplified invoice as a test such as just send one item with a price and no UDFs .
Sorry if that is not much help.

• Creating Invoice from a Delivery Note using SDK

Hi,
I am working on SAP 2005 A Patch 4 with SQL 2000 SP 4. I am using VB.NET (VS2005). I am trying to create a Invoice from a Delivery note which is created based on a Sales order.
I am getting the following error
Error occured while saving Invoice: 0 - '15' is not a valid value for field 'BaseType'. The valid values are: '-1' - '', '0' - '', '23' - 'Sales Quotation', '17' - 'Sales Order', '16' - 'A/R Returns'
The Code that i used to create the invoice is as follows
Dim oInvoice As SAPbobsCOM.Documents
oInvoice = pcompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oInvoices)
oDelivery = pcompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oDeliveryNotes)
Try
If oDelivery.GetByKey(iDlvNo) = True Then
sTaxCodes = sTaxCode
oInvoice = pcompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oOrders)
oInvoice.CardCode = oDelivery.CardCode
oInvoice.SalesPersonCode = oDelivery.SalesPersonCode
oInvoice.DocType = SAPbobsCOM.BoDocumentTypes.dDocument_Items
oInvoice.DocumentSubType = SAPbobsCOM.BoDocumentSubType.bod_None
oInvoice.Address = oDelivery.Address
oInvoice.ShipToCode = oDelivery.ShipToCode
oInvoice.Address2 = oDelivery.Address2
oInvoice.JournalMemo = "Invoice - " & oDelivery.CardCode
oInvoice.Comments = "Based on Delivery " & oDelivery.DocNum
oInvoice.PaymentGroupCode = oDelivery.PaymentGroupCode
oInvoice.DocDueDate = Now.Month & "/" & Now.Day & "/" & Now.Year
For iRowNo = 0 To oDelivery.Lines.Count - 1
If iRowNo > 0 Then
oInvoice.Lines.Add()
End If
oDelivery.Lines.SetCurrentLine(iRowNo)
oInvoice.Lines.ItemCode = oDelivery.Lines.ItemCode
oInvoice.Lines.Quantity = oDelivery.Lines.Quantity
oInvoice.Lines.Rate = oDelivery.Lines.Rate
oInvoice.Lines.BaseType = SAPbobsCOM.BoAPARDocumentTypes.bodt_DeliveryNote
oInvoice.Lines.BaseEntry = iDlvNo 'DocEntry of Delivery Note
oInvoice.Lines.BaseLine = iRowNo
oInvoice.Lines.TaxCode = sTaxCodes
Next
iReturnValue = oInvoice.Add()
If iReturnValue <> 0 Then
pcompany.GetLastError(iReturnValue, sErrorDescription)
Throw New Exception("Error occured while saving Invoice: " + _
iErrorNo.ToString() + " - " + sErrorDescription)
Else
MessageBox.Show("Invoice created succesfully")
End If
End If
Since in the error message it has specified that i have given the BaseType as Delivery which has a value of 15 i changed that from bodt_DeliveryNote to bodt_Order which has a value as 17.
When i tried creating the invoice again it gave the error
Error occured while saving Invoice: 0 - Target item number does not match base item number. [RDR1.TargetType][line: 2]
I am not able to proceed further ... can any one help me
thanks in advance

Greetings,
I am having a similar problem, only I'm doing it as suggested in Louis' reply. In fact I copied that code and tried it. It's giving me a 2028 error with no description.
I had been doing it slightly differently and the error I was getting was 5002 "Item no. is missing [INV1.ItemCode][line 2]" I don't have 2 lines and I'm certain I have an item code. The numbers I'm putting in for baseentry & baseline are absolutely in the table and the order is open.
Here is that code:
oDNUpd = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oInvoices)
oDNUpd.CardCode = CardCode.Text
oDNUpd.Lines.BaseEntry = CInt(SalesOrder.Text)
oDNUpd.Lines.BaseLine = CInt(baseline.Text)
oDNUpd.Lines.BaseType = SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oOrders
oDNUpd.Lines.Add()
lretcode = oDNUpd.Add
I'm using SBO 2005 patch 7 (and the new dll). I have similar code doing a stock transfer and it's working fine.
Thanks for any suggestions you can offer

• Create PO related invoice - before goods receipt/confirmation

Hi all, sorry to ask this very basic question as our system is not working at the moment and I cannot test this out and have very little experience creating PO related invoice in SRM.
First of all, we are operating on SRM 4. I would like to find out whether it is possible to create an invoice with reference to a PO before we create the goods receipt.
The reason why I ask this question is because I was reading up on the IMS functionality that is available from SRM 5 onwards and it listed the functionalities that are available that weren't in the earlier releases. One point mentioned was on the ability to receipt invoice prior to confirmation of goods receipt. I also read from the help document that we can enter invoice with reference to PO for which confirmations have already been entered or for which no confirmations are expected. There is no mention on situations when the confirmation is not done yet.
Appreciate your advice on the above.
Cheers!
SF

Sorry all, I think I am confusing everyone. May be it's because the question is too basic. There is nothing fancy with the PO here. It's a PO initiated from SRM with goods receipt and invoice receipt indicator turned on BUT NOT GR-BASED invoice indicator. I just want to know whether it is possible for me to create an invoice with reference to the PO in SRM if I have not yer done the goods receipt. If I do this in ECC/R3, the invoice would have been blocked (if tolerance allowed).
Even though I know that this should be possible in SRM but because some statements in the SAP help documentation sort of implies that it might not be the case and I do not want to assume it. Plus I have not worked with creating PO related invoices in SRM before and so just want to confirm that it is working. It doesn't help when I was trying to test this scenario in our own system that the system outputs a message relating to backend communication not working.
However, I finally got a chance to test this in another client' site and found that it is possible to create an invoice with reference to a PO even before the goods receipt is posted. Though I have yet to find out why I am getting a different error in our own system, I am happy for now that it is working.
Thanks all for your reply!
Regards

• Delivery / Order related invoice.

20.10.2008
HI friends,
For a Sales Order i create invoices against deliveries or directly against the order itself. I have created copy control for delivery to invoice and order to invoice.
My problem is when i create a delivery related invoice for an order, it allows me to invoice the same sales order again against the order too resulting in mutliple invoice. How do i restrict this. Please suggest.
Regards,
Udaynath

Hi Uday
As per my knowledge goes, Billing can be either Delivery related or Order related and it can not be both.
It is controlled from the "Billing relevance " field in the Item category in sales(VOV7).
So, how are you able to do Billing both from the Sales order as well as from the Delivery. Kindly explain.
Have you got more then one item in the Sales order and Billing relevance for them in their item category are different ?

• How to set an Application Item from PL/SQL

I am attempting to set an Application Item
After login to my app, I want to retrieve a row from my SETTINGS table and populate some Application Items with the settings information so that I can
display some of that settings information on every page.
Just to start, I created one Application Item named F106_YEAR
I then created a Shared Components Application Process which executes on New Session: After Authentication
I created this process as an Anynomous PL/SQL block.
declare
aucyr varchar(4);
begin
select year into auctyr
from settings;
:F106_YEAR := aucyr;
end;
I've tried a couple of other Syntax tricks attempting to reference the Application Item F106_YEAR from within PL/SQL (like V('F106_YEAR') but nothing seems to be working.
I'm sure that I am missing something simple. Can someone tell me how to set an Application Item from PL/SQL?
Thanks in advance.

I'm still doing something wrong because this is not working for me.
I've tried both of the following versions as an Application Process set to run on New Session after Authentication:
declare
auction_year varchar(4);
begin
select year into auction_year
from PBUUC.SETTINGS where rownum < 2;
:F106_AUCTION_YEAR:=auction_year;
end;
and I also tried:
declare
auction_year varchar(4);
begin
select year into auction_year
from PBUUC.SETTINGS where rownum < 2;
APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE (p_name, p_value);
end;
F106_YEAR is a global Item (shared components).
The select statement works just fine in SQL*PLUS so I know that it is correct.
If I run the debugger and log into the application, here is the output. Shouldn't I see my Application Process get called if it is set to run on New Session after Validation?
My Application process is named RETRIEVE_AUCTION_SETTINGS

• Report to List Incoming Payments and related Invoices

Hi Experts,
I would like a query which lists Incoming Payments and also the related Invoices which were paid.
Is there a table which links together the ORCT and OINV tables?
Thanks
Greig

Hi Greig,
Link to ORCT - OINV( SELECT * FROM ORCT T0 INNER JOIN OINV T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.ReceiptNum )
Link to ORCT -RCT1 - OINV( SELECT * FROM ORCT T0 INNER JOIN RCT1 T1 ON T0.DocNum = T1.DocNum
NNER JOIN OINV T2 ON T0.DocEntry = T2.ReceiptNum)
Try this,
Lists of Incoming Payments and related Invoices.
SELECT T0.DocNum,
COUNT(T0.DocEntry) 'No of Invoice'
FROM RCT2 T0
INNER JOIN OINV T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry
GROUP BY T0.DocNum

• Data migrated from MS SQL Server 2k to Oracle8i is not the same :(

I'm trying to help a customer here who is trying to migrate a
table from MS SQL Server 2000 with column WORD of type varchar
(100) to Oracle8i (8.1.7.2) using Oracle Migration Workbench
1.4.0.1 using MS SQL Server 2000 plugin. That column has unique
values and has a primary key enabled on it. When migrated, the
table on Oracle will have duplicate and incorrect data as well
as ORA-2437: cannot validate (JAVAFARM.PK_IDX_WORD) - primary
key violated.
The data on both tables look like this :
ss2k value oracle value
========== ============
€ ┐
… ┐
’ ┐
– ┐
ƒ ┐
Y= ┐
4 ┐
–0 ┐
— ┐
& ┐
‘ ┐
Any idea what could be wrong or how to fix such thing?
Thanks :)
Fawaz.
