Validating a XMLdoc against schema with multiply namespaces

Does anybody know how to validate xmldoc against schema with multiply namespaces?
I'd appreciate any advice on how I should perform this operation.
I used an example from OTN "Building Server-Side XML Schema Validation" which works fine
for single xml-xsd validation only.
I use 8.1.7.4 oracle version with XML SDK installed.
The error I am getting is
0RA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDException: no protocol: NAME1.xsd
ORA-06512: at sys.schemavalidation, line 0
Here is an example of my xsd:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xs:schema
xmlns:name1="http://.../name1"
xmlns:name2="http://.../name2"
xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" elementFormDefault="unqualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified" version="1.1">
<xs:import namespace="http://.../name1" schemaLocation="name1.xsd"/>
<xs:import namespace="http://.../name2" schemaLocation="name2.xsd"/>
<xs:element name="Header">
     <xs:complexType>
          <xs:sequence>
               <xs:element name="ID" type="name1:IDType">
               </xs:element>
               <xs:element name="Code" type="name2:CodeType">
               </xs:element>
          </xs:sequence>
     </xs:complexType>
</xs:element>

In the past, ColdFusion's XML validation mechanism seems to have had issues with schemas that contain imports, e.g., http://forums.adobe.com/message/155906. Have these issues still not been resolved?
Do you not think that perhaps you're answering your own question here?
I don't see an issue about this on the bug tracker.  It might be an idea if you can get a simple, stand-alone repro case together and raise an issue (and post the reference back here and against that other thread so people know to vote for it).  If you post the repro case here too, it would be helpful.

  • In-memonry xml document validation against schema with xerces

    Hello, there.
    I found that I can't use JAXP's javax.xml.validation package with jdk 1.4. (Am I wrong?)
    Anyway,
    I found that I can use xerces's DOMParser for the same purpose.
    But I can't find the way to validate my programmatically generate org.w3c.dom.Document against existing schema file.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks.

    Have you read Xerces documentation or SUN xml API, there is always a parser option (I suppose it's in the standard) to validate input while parsing.
    Look the API : http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/xml/parsers/DocumentBuilderFactory.html#setValidating(boolean)

  • Validating xml input against schema's registered in database

    Hi,
    We have an application that stores a massive XSD document (with cyclical references between schemas) in a VARCHAR2 column of a table. The XSD is loaded everytime an xml input needs to be parsed. The problem is that the XSD is very huge, and maintaining it is going to be a problem as it continues to grow. I don't beleieve this is the most efficient way of doing this.
    What I would like to do is to register each of the schemas that are part of the large XSD and use the <include schemaLocation/> directive. I have seen tutorials for doing this. Example tutorial at this link:
    http://www.cs.utah.edu/classes/cs5530/oracle/doc/B10501_01/appdev.920/a96620/xdb05obj.htm
    My sole purpose for registering the XSD's is to validate any xml input that is passed in as input to my Java program that is running in the database; I don't want to store the input xml in a table. If the input is successfully validated, my program will continue processing.
    I have seen some Java OTN tutorials which have methods with 2 parameters - xml, and xsd. I want to avoid this approach because in my case, the XSD would already be registered in the database.
    Any tips would be very much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Rudi

    AN XML Document may be validated with schema registered in database.

  • XML validation against schema in XSD format

    I have a requirement for validation of XML file against XML schema(XSD format). Using IXML liabrary I know how to validate XML file against schema in DTD format. But i am not getting how to do it against XSD. Is it possible using IXML liabrary? Also i wanted to know how to attach one XML or CSV file into another XML file using SAP ABAP.
    Please provide solution!!

    Hi Madhura,
    see here my comparison of the web version against the local file version on my Windows box (which is itself not the fastest): It makes a factor 16 in difference!
    C:\Temp\xsdvalidator>java XsdValidator madhu.xsd madhu.xml
    cvc-pattern-valid: Value 'provamail.it' is not facet-valid with respect to patte
    rn '[^@]+@[^.]+[.].+' for type 'EmailType'.
    NOK - Validation error

    C:\Temp\xsdvalidator>java XsdValidator madhu_local.xsd madhu.xml

    rn '[^@]+@[^.]+[.].+' for type 'EmailType'.
    NOK - Validation error
    Elapsed time: 994 ms
    Obviously, the w3c.org domain that you specified as ressource location is very slow - and, as the FAQ shows, this delay is intentional!
    The W3C servers are slow to return DTDs. Is the delay intentional?
    Yes. Due to various software systems downloading DTDs from our site millions of times a day (despite the caching directives of our servers), we have started to serve DTDs and schema (DTD, XSD, ENT, MOD, etc.) from our site with an artificial delay. Our goals in doing so are to bring more attention to our ongoing issues with excessive DTD traffic, and to protect the stability and response time of the rest of our site. We recommend HTTP caching or catalog files to improve performance.
    --> They don't want to have requests to their site from productive servers all around the world.

    --> Could not find cached enumeration value Custom.CI.Enum.PeripheralDevice.Printer for property Type, class BMC.Custom.CI.PeripheralDevice in enumeration cache.
    You must specify either the Name or Guid of an enumeration of type Custom.CI.Enum.PeripheralDevice.Type.
    Be sure that you are specifying the Name property of the enumeration value you want to set, and not the DisplayName; the Internal Name is something like "IncidentCategoryEnum.Category" for out of the box enumerations, or ENUM.210ADA2282FDABC3210ADA2282FDABC
    for enumerations created in the console.
    you can check this by finding the enumeration in the XML or by using the the
    SMLets commandlet
    Get-SCSMEnumeration | ?{$_.DisplayName –eq “Printer”}
    and then checking your value with
    Get-SCSMEnumeration -Name "ENUM.210ADA2282FDABC3210ADA2282FDABC"
    and see if you get the right displayname back

  • Question about validating xml against schema

    Hi,
    I am new to JAXP. I try to validating a xml against a schema. I wrote following code:
    SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
    spf.setNamespace(true);
    spf.setValidating(true);
    SAXParser sp = spf.newSAXParser();
    sp.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/properties/jaxp/schemaLanguage",
    "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");
    sp.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/properties/jaxp/schemaSource",
    "mySchema.xsd") ;
    sp.parse(<XML Document>, <ContentHandler);
    but when compile, it has error: can't resolve ""http://java.sun.com/xml/properties/jaxp/schemaLanguage", and
    "http://java.sun.com/xml/properties/jaxp/schemaSource".
    It seems it didn't support above two property.
    I saw some code in forum is:
    fact.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/validation", true);
    fact.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema",true);
    fact.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema-full-checking", true);
    SAXParser sp = fact.newSAXParser();
    sp.setProperty("http://apache.org/xml/properties/schema/external-noNamespaceSchemaLocation",schemas);
    Why sun tutorial use property:http://java.sun.com/xml/properties/jaxp/schemaLanguage
    and someone use:http://apache.org/xml/properties/schema/external-noNamespaceSchemaLocation
    where to get information about setting properties for SAXParserFactory?
    Thanks

  • Validation against schema

    Hi,
    I am using the following code to validate aagainst a schema
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory =
    DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    factory.setValidating(true);
    try {
    factory.setAttribute(JAXP_SCHEMA_LANGUAGE, W3C_XML_SCHEMA);
    factory.setAttribute(JAXP_SCHEMA_SOURCE, new File("C:\\PORX_IN110101UK04.xsd"));
    catch (IllegalArgumentException x) {
    // Happens if the parser does not support JAXP 1.2
    x.printStackTrace();
    ReaderBase.ValidationErrorHandler errorHandler = new ReaderBase.ValidationErrorHandler();
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    builder.setErrorHandler(errorHandler);
    builder.parse(new File("c:\\test.xml"));
    if (errorHandler.validationError)
    throw new Exception(errorHandler.saxParseException);
    And i am getting a parsing exception which is that it can not find the definition of one of the complex types in the schema -this is due to it being in another included schema. Does anyone know if this code supports including schemas from within schemas and if so why it doesn't work for me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Darren

    Including a schema in another does not become available for validation.
    Combine the schemas.

  • How to register the same schema with same URL

    I'm getting ORA-31085 error when try to register the same schema with same URl.
    My requirement is that I should be able to reregister the same schema with the same URL .
    I'm using the following function :
    PROCEDURE validateXmlSchema(inp_xmlMsg IN VARCHAR2,
    out_isValidDoc IN OUT NUMBER,
    inp_xmlSchema IN OUT VARCHAR2,
    out_varchar_notused OUT VARCHAR2)IS
    xmldoc XMLType;
    res number;
    BEGIN
    xmldoc := XMLtype(inp_xmlMsg);
    res := xmldoc.isSchemaValid(inp_xmlSchema);
    IF (xmldoc.isSchemaValid = 1) THEN
    out_isValidDoc := 1;
    ELSE
    out_isValidDoc := 0;
    END IF;
    END validateXmlSchema;
    This is used recursively.Until the schema is not validated for a given URL this function should keep on throwing error and once the schema is validated the data should be inserted in the DB.
    But its not happening as of now instead the ORA-31085 is thrown second time.
    Plz provide pointers to solve the issue.

    I believe the OP is talking about a dropdown menu like this
    one
    http://www.tjkdesign.com/articles/keyboard_friendly_dropdown_menu/default.asp
    not about a "select menu".
    I could be wrong though...

  • Failed to retrieve a schema URI (document namespace) for /userprofiles/emailNotification.usr; please see the following exception for details

    I get this exception (and long stack trace) when attempting to start my weblogic server. I'm running Weblogic 7 with Portal 7 (sp 1). I'm using Oracle 8.1.7. I upgraded this application from weblogic portal 4.0, and never had this problem there. As part of the migration process, I ran the tool to migrate all of the database tables, and I re-synched the EBCC project using version 7 of EBCC. I did a search for this problem and found a few mentions of it that seemed to be related to Oracle's handling of CLOB data. Apparently, there is a patch, but I can't seem to find this patch. I'm also not sure if this is indeed the problem since I didn't have this issue with the older version of weblogic using the same database. Any suggestions?

    If you have a support contract please open a case so we can work through
    this problem.
    Can you run an sqlplus session on your database, execute the commands
    "delete from data_sync_item" and "commit", then resync to see if it will
    get you around the problem. The data_sync_item table will be fully
    populated after you sync. This should get you running.
    Between 4.0 and 7.0 the DefaultRequestPropertySet.req file was reduced
    in size -- the CLOB would be smaller in the data_sync_item table.
    I would recommend using the Version Checker against your installation --
    find it on the dev2dev.bea.com site to see if the upgrade installer work
    ed properly. Also consider running the full installer to avoid possible
    problems that might occur with upgrade installers.
    As a result of that patch you referenced in 4.0 the CLOB handling logic
    was changed in 7.0 -- this is why it is strange you are seeing cleaving
    errors. In 7.0 SP2 to be release next week the data sync and
    persistence code was changed also.
    Are you using the OCI or Thin driver?

    Are you using a UTF-8 Oracle database?
    Yes
    If you create a new User Profile in the EBCC and compare it to your
    migrated .usr file do you see differences in the DTD's?
    I recreated a new version of the .usr in the EBCC, and still got the same error.
    I also tried deleting everything from the data-sync-item table and re-synching.
    What does the DocumentManager section of your application-config.xml
    look like?
    <DocumentManager
    ContentCacheName="documentContentCache"
    ContentCaching="true"
    DocumentConnectionPoolName="default"
    MaxCachedContentSize="32768"
    MetadataCacheName="documentMetadataCache"
    MetadataCaching="true"
    Name="default"
    PropertyCase="none"
    UserIdInCacheKey="false"
    />
    What does the document.jar Targets="" parameter look like in config.xml?
    <EJBComponent Name="document" Targets="pfeCluster" URI="document.jar"/>

    I get this exception (and long stack trace) when attempting to start
    my weblogic server. I'm running Weblogic 7 with Portal 7 (sp 1). I'm
    using Oracle 8.1.7. I upgraded this application from weblogic portal
    4.0, and never had this problem there. As part of the migration process,
    I ran the tool to migrate all of the database tables, and I re-synched
    the EBCC project using version 7 of EBCC. I did a search for this problem
    and found a few mentions of it that seemed to be related to Oracle's
    handling
    of CLOB data. Apparently, there is a patch, but I can't seem to find
    this patch. I'm also not sure if this is indeed the problem since I
    didn't have this issue with the older version of weblogic using the
    same database. Any suggestions?

  • Validate XML against XSD with imported xsd's

    Hello,
    I'm stuck for a while attempting to validate a xml against some xsd's. In the code below you can find my xsd's structure: (I need to use this structure in order to reuse the baseXsd's files.
    CommonTypes.xsd
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <xs:schema id="CommonTypes" targetNamespace="http://test.com/CommonTypes"
    xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    elementFormDefault="qualified"
    attributeFormDefault="qualified">
    <xs:simpleType name="NonEmptyString">
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
    <xs:minLength value="1"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:simpleType>
    </xs:schema>
    CommonLog.xsd
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <xs:schema id="CommonLogConfig"
    targetNamespace="http://test.com/CommonLogConfig"
    xmlns:cmn="http://test.com/CommonTypes"
    xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    elementFormDefault="qualified"
    attributeFormDefault="qualified">
    <xs:import schemaLocation="..\Base\CommonTypes.xsd" namespace="http://test.com/CommonTypes" />
    <xs:simpleType name="LogName">
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string"/>
    </xs:simpleType>
    <xs:simpleType name="LogPath">
    <xs:restriction base="cmn:NonEmptyString"/>
    </xs:simpleType>
    </xs:schema>
    LogConfig.xsd
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:mlc="http://test.com/CommonLogConfig"
    targetNamespace="component1_LogConfig"
    xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    elementFormDefault="qualified"
    attributeFormDefault="qualified">
    <xs:import schemaLocation="..\Base\CommonLogConfig.xsd" namespace="http://test.com/CommonLogConfig" />
    <xs:element name="root">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="default">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:all>
    <xs:element name="LogName" type="mlc:LogName" fixed="component.name" />
    <xs:element name="LogPath" type="mlc:LogPath"/>
    </xs:all>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>
    LogConfig.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <root xmlns="component1_LogConfig">
    <default>
    <LogName>component.name</LogName>
    <LogPath></LogPath>
    </default>
    </root>
    As you can probably notice, the <LogPath> key on the LogConfig is empty, but, it is defined as a NonEmptyString type. That is the way I'm validating the xml against xsd:
    FileStream stream = new FileStream("LogConfig.xml", FileMode.Open);
    XmlValidatingReader vr = new XmlValidatingReader(stream, XmlNodeType.Element, null);
    vr.Schemas.Add(null, "LogConfig.xsd");
    vr.ValidationType = ValidationType.Schema;
    vr.ValidationEventHandler += new ValidationEventHandler(ValidationCallBack);
    while (vr.Read()) ;
    The validationCallBack is not being fired.
    I suppose it is possible since the visual studio show me the error at compile time:

    Well, it is weird, but, the code below works when validating the NonEmptyString type:
    XmlSchemaSet schemaSet = new XmlSchemaSet();
    schemaSet.Add(null, "LogConfig.xsd");
    XDocument doc1 = XDocument.Load("LogConfig.xml");
    doc1.Validate(schemaSet, new ValidationEventHandler(ValidationCallBack), false);
    However, if I leave the <LogName> empty it does not valid the values set on xsd fixed attribute,
    The solution?
    Well, I'm validating the same xml twice, the code above and the code on my first question.

  • Error creating OIM schema with RCU 11.1.1.3.3 (RCU-6135)

    Hello!
    I'm trying to install Oracle Access & Identity Management 11g on Windows Server 2003 32bit machine
    As main guide I use the article from onlineappsdba.com ( [this one|http://onlineappsdba.com/index.php/2010/08/05/oracleidm-11g-step-by-installation-of-oam-oim-oaam-oapm-oin-111130-part-i-load-schema/print/] )
    I have installed Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0
    After that I try to create required schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3 and constantly get failed on creating OIM schema with error RCU-6135:Error while trying to execute Java action..
    All other schemas were created successfully.
    I've checked oim.log and there were no sql errors.
    In the rcu.log I found next messages:

    I've searched through the OTN and Internet but did not found any solution.
    Please help me.
    Any advises will be appreciated.

    I've tried to run RCU 11.1.1.3.3 on Ubuntu 32-bit and OIM schema creation failed again but with another error RCU-1636 Failed to start PL/SQL engine.
    After that I found RCU 11.1.1.4, downladed it and this version created all schemas successfully.
    Hope all other components will be ok with new version of RCU

  • Fetch the netprice from the validity period which always matches with the

    Let me describe the same.
    Suppose the PO creation date is 04.07.2007
    The conditions for an item in a contract for the PO are as follows;
    1. Validity from 04.07.2007 validity to 04.07.2007 Netprice = 100.00
    2. Validity from 05.07.2007 validity to 31.12.9999 Netprice = 200.00
    We need to always fetch the netprice from the validity period which always matches with the PO creation date. here the value 100.00 should be the correct netpr as the PO creation date matches with the first validity period.
    But the program is fetching the netprice 200.000 which belongs to the second validity period. That is beacuse the select statement which fetches the data for contracts collects on the basis of EKKO-kdate and ekko-kdtab.the fields kdate and kdtab retrieves the validity period of the contract which is from 04.07.2007 to 31.072007. This data is then used to retrieve the netpr data from EKPO and it fetched 200.00 as it retrives the netprice of current data in contract validity and h not with respect to PO creation date.
    This data is then used to fetch the get the netpr data from EKPO.
    what we need is the netprice for that validity period of item(Conditions) that matches with the PO creation date..
    Below is the code where I'm selecting the data from ekko and ekpo for the contracts data..Can you please add the code snippet to the below attachesd subroutine to get the required data from KONV and KONP so that we can retrieve the correct Netprice.

    Hi,
    Please get the valid condition ( based on date ) from A016 (MK & LPA). With the appropriate KNUMH read the Condition header. You can access the different condition items viz., PB00, RA00 etc., for the values from table KONP. Further if you have Value scales / Quantity scales, you can read the data from KONM, KONW.
    An additional tips: in KONP, if you have a condition like RA00 - Rebate, the value will be multiplied by 10 and saven in database to accomodate the discount to the third decimal.
    I could not completely understand your requirements like nature of development ( Is it a Report / SAP Script ??) you are working etc., so that I could help you precisely.
    Hope this helps,
    Best Regards, Murugesh AS

  • Issue with Remove Namespace HTTP POST method

    I am working on an integration where cXML from the Partner will be posted to SOA and from SOA another HTTP post to end partner. its basically
    HTTP Post(partner 1)----------------->SOA--------------->HTTP Post(Partner 2).
    I have cXML its in dtd format which i have converted to Native format using file-adapter and added namespace schema. so My question is while cXML is post to SOA i have added namespace schema and consumed it to my BPEL, while it leaves out Partner2 through HTTP post again the namespace should be removed and sent to partner 2. I am stuck at this Point. need Urgent help. please. how to remove name space.

    Hi,
    Create xsl style sheet file (xml) from you jdeveloper. Path to go File->New. go to all technogloy tab and select All Items catagory and select XSL style sheet.
    Remove content in the generated xml file and copy and paste the below code
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" exclude-result-prefixes="xsl ns1">
    <xsl:template match="comment()|processing-instruction()|/">
    <xsl:copy>
    <xsl:apply-templates/>
    </xsl:copy>
    </xsl:template>
    <xsl:template match="*">
    <xsl:element name="{local-name()}">
    <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/>
    </xsl:element>
    </xsl:template>
    <xsl:template match="@*">
    <xsl:choose>
    <xsl:when test="name() != 'xmlns'">
    <xsl:attribute name="{local-name()}">
    <xsl:value-of select="."/>
    </xsl:attribute>
    </xsl:when>
    </xsl:choose>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    In Your bpel process under assign activity give it as below
    <copy>
    ora:getContentAsString( ora:processXSLT( 'xsl/removeNamespaces.xsl', bpws:getVariableData('variable name','rootelement')))
    <to variable="String"/>
    </copy>
    String variable contains your xml message with out namespaces in string format.
    You can pass this string content to your partnerlink 2.

    Tarak.

  • How to add an element with a namespace prefix (Part 2)

    Hi all,
    I previously asked a question about adding an attribute with a namespace prefix to an element that already exists and that declares the namespace prefix here:
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2610142
    I received an answer that works, but now I am stumped again when I have to add an element where the element name has the namespace prefix.
    For example, let's say I already have this element:
    <A xmlns="namespace" xmlns:def="myns_namespace"/>
    And I want to add this element:
    <def:B/>
    To produce this:
    <A xmlns="namespace" xmlns:def="myns_namespace">
         <def:B/>
    </A>
    and NOT this:
    <A xmlns="namespace" xmlns:def="myns_namespace">
         <def:B  xmlns:def="myns_namespace"/>
    </A>
    This does not work:
    SELECT
    xmlserialize(document
        appendChildXML(
         xmltype('<A xmlns="namespace" xmlns:def="myns_namespace"/>')
        , '/A'
        , xmlelement("def:D")
        , 'xmlns="namespace" xmlns:def="myns_namespace"'
      indent)
    FROM dual;
    Because of this error:
    ORA-31011: XML parsing failed
    ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing
    LPX-00234: namespace prefix "def" is not declared
    Error at line 1
    31011. 00000 -  "XML parsing failed"
    *Cause:    XML parser returned an error while trying to parse the document.
    *Action:   Check if the document to be parsed is valid.
    Is there any way to do this without the child element having the duplicate namespace declaration?
    My oracle version is:
    Oracle Database 11g Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production

    Hi,
    This one's tricky, so tricky that I think it's not possible using Oracle built-in XML DML functions.
    Even XQuery Update cannot do it (for now) because, likewise, the prefix is always redeclared at child level.
    The only thing I can think of is XSLT (or maybe DOM manipulation) :
    SQL> select xmlserialize(document
      2           xmltransform(
      3             xmltype('<A xmlns="namespace" xmlns:def="myns_namespace"/>')
      4           , xmltype(
      5  '<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
      6     xmlns:def="myns_namespace"
      7     xmlns:ns0="namespace">
      8    <xsl:template match="ns0:A">
      9      <xsl:copy>
    10        <xsl:element name="def:B"/>
    11      </xsl:copy>
    12    </xsl:template>
    13  </xsl:stylesheet>')
    14         )
    15        indent
    16      )
    17  from dual;
    XMLSERIALIZE(DOCUMENTXMLTRANSF
    <A xmlns="namespace" xmlns:def="myns_namespace">
      <def:B/>
    </A>
