Validating input file

Hello,
I read flat files and convert them to XML using the file adapter.
Now I would like to validate the input by checking if all lines got the required length and stop processing if one is too long.
How can I do that?
Thanks in advance
Rainer

Hi Rainer,
if you want to validate before picking up you need to develope an <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/de/8b/895e407aa4c44ce10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">adapter modul</a>.

  • 1 input file to 2 output file mapping. Please help!

    Hi Experts,
      I have a snenario where from one input file I have to generate two output files. My sender and receiver systems are the same since I want to generate the output files in the same location. I am using both the systems same just for testing purpose.
    So in IR I have created
      1. one outbound interface for the input file
      2. two inbound interfaces for the output files
      3. one message mapping containing one input message
          transformation to two output messages.
      4. one interface mapping containing one input interface
          transformation to two output interfaces.
      In ID I have created
        1. one file sender channel and two receiver channels for two output files with different names.
        2. two receiver agreements
        3. one sender agreement
        4. one interface determination of type "Enhanced".
        5. one receiver determination
      But when I run the scenario given one valid input file  I am getting the error in the sxmb_moni : RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Cannot produce target element.
    However message mapping and interface mapping works perfectly if I test it in IR with the same input file.
    Can somebody help me understand what I might be doing wrong?
    Have I done the configuration correctly for 1:N mapping?
    Please help! I will be greatfull to you if you can help me.
    Thanks
    Gopal

    If my input file is like this:
       <ns1:LocationMsg_MT xmlns:ns1="http://www.abc.com/Gopal">
             <Location>
             </Location>
    </ns1:LocationMsg_MT >
    Then my scenario is working.
    But my input file will be like this:
    <LocationMsg_MT>
             <Location>
             </Location>
    <LocationMsg_MT >
    This is giving problem.
    How to handle this kind of file?
    Thanks

  • How to do the validation in sap xi (input file)

    hi,
    how to do the validation in sap xi (input file)?
    regards
    Ruban

    Hi Ruban
    There are no fixed set of validations.
    It all depends on the exact functional requirements. Most of validations revolve in XI around,
    1. Validation of madatory fields.
    2. Cross Referncing of data.
    3. Validation for data in some fields , etc
    refr the below links for few details regarding validation

  • Input file not a valid archive

    Hi
    Originally the application was written in CVI 6.0. I have now created a completly new project and workspace and added all the files.
    The compilation works fine. But the error message I get when linking (build) is " error: Input file is not a valid archive: 'c:\Projects\........\bin\i7000.lib'. "
    With another library I get the same problem: "uart.lib"
    The other lib-files just work fine.
    I saw in an old post a solution: to just recreate the project which I did. But it didn't work in my case.
    Any help?
    Cheers Andreas
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

     Hi Maha
    Thanks for your investigations.
    The LIBs I use "i7000.lib" resp. "i7000.dll" and "uart.lib" resp. "uart.dll" have an age of about 10 years AND are from a vendor/manufacturer that doesn't support these LIBs anymore.
    So first of all we don't have access to the original c code and therefore can't compile/build any new LIB. And most probably they were not made with CVI.
    Then as a second thought: these LIB/DLLs follow the standard and conventions of a microsoft LIB/DLL. So this should be some standard interface, even for CVI.
    Third, I think there are 1000s of such old (Microsoft standard) libraries still in use all over the industry. Therefore I cannot understand why CVI 2013 is not capabable of linking them to the rest of the code.
    Maybe I miss something in my thoughts. Like you mention already an older CVI is not a solution for us. Do you see maybe the possibility of another workaround?
    For your understanding I attach the 2 LIBs in a zip-file. Maybe it helps?
    Anyway have a nice wekend.

  • BKI0062E: The input file /oracle/SID/sapbackup/.file.lst is not valid.

    Hi all,
       It has the following platform: SAP ECC6 in AIX 6.1 with Oracle Database
    My question is: When I run a online backup from DB13 with util_file I have this error message :
    BKI0062E: The input file /oracle/SID/sapbackup/.file.lst is not valid.
    Knowing when I launch from the standard profile on Disk initSID.sap it works without problem
    When we test manually with oraSID it works but by SIDadm its not work
    Then you can mention or in configuration files BACKINT both users oraSID & SIDadm have rights to use
    Many Thanks

    As you see - your br*tools are more than two years old, many many errors have been fixed since. I would install the latest tools and try if the error is still there. You can even do that when the system is running.

  • Validate the input file against a given schema inside an orchestration and producing 2 different files based on the validation result

    HI All,
    I have a situation.
    I need to validate the input file against a given schema inside an orchestration and producing 2 different files based on the validation result.
    A predefined success schema in case of  validation success and negative schema structure for validation failure.
    any advice ?

    Hi Rachit,I following the blog
    http://dietergobeyn.be/validating-biztalk-messages-orchestration/ and stuck in few things
    I created a helper class with the name Validation and following code
    [Serializable]
        public class Validation
            private bool _isValid = true;
            public bool Validate(XmlDocument document, Type schema)
                XmlSchemaSet set = new XmlSchemaSet();
                if (typeof(SchemaBase).IsAssignableFrom(schema) && !schema.IsNested)
                    set.Add((Activator.CreateInstance(schema) as SchemaBase).Schema);
                ValidationEventHandler eventHandler = new ValidationEventHandler(HandleValidationError);
                document.Schemas = set;
                document.Validate(eventHandler);
                return _isValid;
            private void HandleValidationError(object sender, ValidationEventArgs ve)
                _isValid = false;
    public static bool ValidateMessage(XLANGMessage msg)
    XmlDocument xDoc = new XmlDocument();
    xDoc = (System.Xml.XmlDocument)msg[0].RetrieveAs(xDoc.GetType());
    Type t = typeof(Schemas.External.Invoice_v3_1);
    Validation validation = new Validation();
    return validation.Validate(xDoc, t);
    First thing, Do i need to write the ValidateMessage method inside the helper class or not ??
    If inside, how to add the reference of schema files in the statement (Type t = typeof(Schemas.External.Invoice_v3_1);)
     I tried adding the reference of my schema project but it is showing error.
    And what is to be written in the ValidateMessage expression shape in Orchestration ?
    Really appreciate your help.

  • Server side validation for file type with cffil sent via cfmail problem

    Hello;
    I have a small app that I need to allow users to be able to use a form, and send me and email with a file attachment. I have it working nicely, I included file manipulation into the validation process of the form and required form fields. The problem I'm having, is this. I'm trying to create and instance where if they try and upload lets say a pdf, it throws and error: "You are trying to upload the wrong file, please try again we only accept bla bla bla" Problem is, even if I'm uploading the proper file, it's rejecting it and deleting it. Can someone help me fix this? I've tried a number of different ways and can't seem to get this to go off properly. I am posting some of the code. There is a ton, so I'm posting the main parts so you get the idea and see my variables.

  • How is the Login-validation.xml file is called when we do the validation i

    Hi ^^,
    please forgive me if I am a big long while explaining.
    when you are using the struts 2.0 the web.xml has a welcome-file-list. I have put index.html in that list so it pulls up first.
    It has the following tag
    <ul>
              <li><a href="roseindia/showLoginClientSideValidation.action">Login Application (Client Side Validation)</a></li>
            </ul>so this maps to struts.xml which contains the showLoginClientSideValidation.action tag
    <action name="showLoginClientSideValidation">
                   <result>/pages/loginClientSideValidation.jsp</result>
            </action>
            <action name="doLoginClientSideValidation" class="net.roseindia.Login">
                <result  name="input">/pages/loginClientSideValidation.jsp</result>
                   <result  name="error">/pages/loginClientSideValidation.jsp</result>
                   <result>/pages/Loginsuccess.jsp</result>
            </action>
              this displays the jsp "loginClientSideValidation.jsp"
    once you enter the details in the jsp and click submit the control goes to Login.java file as per the mapping in struts.xml given above
    This is just a simple java file which contains the execute() method. This method returns success or error.
    If success is returned then the Loginsuccess.jsp is invoked
    If error is returned then the loginClientSideValidation.jsp is invoked
    Well so far so good
    I have also understood that to use client side validation you use validate = "true" in loginClientSideValidation.jsp
    However what I am not able to understand is how the Login-validation.xml file is being invoked
    Any help would be highly appreciated.
    thanks and regards,

    Hi ^^^,
    i found something interesting that I want to share
    Validation rules are handled by validators, which must be registered with the ValidatorFactory (using the registerValidator method). The simplest way to do so is to add a file name validators.xml in the root of the classpath (/WEB-INF/classes) that declares all the validators you intend to use.
    validators.xml if being defined should be available in the classpath. However this is not necessary, if no custom validator is needed. Webwork will automatically picked up a predefined sets of validators defined in com/opensymphony/xwork/validator/validators/default.xml packaged together in xwork jar file that comes with webwork distribution.
    So this is clear that the validators are defined in validators.xml or default.xml
    What is still not clear is how is the Login-validation.xml being called by jsp page to do verification and then linking to validators.xml to apply the rules.
    However people have been telling me that ----" Struts 2.0 have inbuilt functionalities to validate the Parameters" and that i need to
    "Define configuration file *-validation.xml or use annotations
    i) className-validation.xml
    ii) place this file in the directory where .class file is placed example.Login should have Login-validation.xml
    Do you all think is this sufficient for an answer or should my search go on?
    thanks and regards,
    Prashant

  • Need to isolate error with output with valid input (code included)

    Hey guys, this code will be a bit lengthy as I am posting from two separate Java files: Rectangle.java and RectangleTest.java - Basically I am stumped as to why even valid input keeps resulting in this message: System.out.println("\nThis is a SQUARE, not a Rectangle...Quiting...\n"); . Why am I getting this output? I seriously cant figure this out, and really what I am trying to do is take user input for four sets of coordinates, store them, do some simple math with them to determine if the object they form is a Rectangle and not a square. In the long run I am probably doing the whole thing wrong.
    Here is the Rectangle.java code:
    public class Rectangle {
         private int x1,x2,x3,x4,y1,y2,y3,y4;
         private int length;

    Essentially, I am trying to achieve the following:
    1. Store the Cartesian coordinates for the four corners of a Rectangle
    2. Verify that the supplied coordinates (by the user) do infact make a Rectangle and not a Square.
    Since I don't physically have a Length and Width, but just points, I have to use a little math to create a Length and Width and I came up with ((x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2) to find the length of one side. I thought I would store this as the way to set the Length/Width (setLength & setWidth), but I havent been able to find a way to bridge the user's input in the main() method of the test program to use the values in this formula. Even then, I am not sure if this simple step would at all help validate the object created by the four sets of points is a Rectangle. I thought that a Rectangle might be created by simply by deductive math where if the Length > Width or Length < Width and Width != Length then I would have a what I was looking for.One side is (X2 - X1) the next side is (Y3 - Y2) the 3rd and 4th sides are: (X4 - X3) and (Y4 - Y1).

    I have gone to the Central Configuration Manger and it all of the servers running except for input file repository server and output file repository server. When I start those two servers it goes right back to stopped. Now I checked the event viewer for errors and these to errors show up.

    Now to give a bit of a back story as to what happened before this. We were having a issue logging into the domain on this machine. The only way to get passed this was to unjoin and rejoin it to the domain then this happened.  When I try to go to the CMC using the admin launch page I get the following error.
    Server Error in '/businessobjects/Enterprise115/WebTools' Application.

    I'm a bit new to business objects software as this system was setup way before I started working for this company and noone that put this system in place has worked here for a while now. So I'm hoping some of you can help me out a bit or atleast point me in the right direction.

    Disregard that last post. I have gotten into Central Management Console.  My next question is, where in the CMC do I got to fix the following 2 errors I was getting?  I figure that are both talking about the samething but since this is my first time I've been in the CMC I am not sure where to go to fix it.

  • Error opening input File?

    I added a few fields to a structure in the program. As soon as I execute the prog, I get this message before I can even enter the input file. All spellings are correct for the filename.
       Thanks.

    If its your custom program, check for validations that are trigerred  in the selection screen. It might be the reason.

  • Time validation from validation.xml file

    i've inherited part of a project and need to be able to validate a user inputting time into a field, at present it's set for a 24 hr clock, but the mask as it is will let them input eg 25:45, because its checking each digit rather than is it less than 24
    entry from our validation.xml file:
    <field property="time" indexedListProperty="configBillingPeriodTable" depends="mask">
    <arg0 key="taWebLabel.Time"/>
    <var>
    <var-name>mask</var-name>
    <var-value>^[0-2][0-9]:[0-5][0-9]$</var-value>
    </var>
    </field>
    this stuff is new to me, so excuse the basic questions!! how can I set the first part of the mask to limit to 23, and where can I find info on what expressions I can use between the <var-value></var-value> tags
    thnx

    I believe it would be this:
    ^([0-1][0-9]|[2][0-3]):[0-5][0-9]$
    or if you don't want leading 0's for 0-9...
    ^([0-9]|[1][0-9]|[2][0-3]):[0-5][0-9]$

    Hi,
    I freshly converted a .bld (LV7.1) file to .lvproj (LV11) through Tools > Convert Build Script. It ran well.

    Many thanks

    Not too sure... Is your installer supposed to create any keys in the registry?
    Anyway, open your installer's build specification and check all the sections, I would suggest to bring specific attention to the following sections :
    - "Source Files", because here, all the "extra files you want you installer to place in specific format have to be included/referenced in the project (.lvproj)
    - "Registry", that's only if the installer is supposed to create keys in the registry
    - "Additional installers", make sure you only tick the boyes corresponding to drivers/module that are required for you application and also make sure that when building, the installer you used to install those drivers/modules on your computer are still available.
    Hope this helps

  • How does FGEN demo program (SFP) identify input file formats?

    The FGEN Soft Front Panel (SFP) application allows users to select an input file containing waveform data for demonstration. Files of various formats are listed in a popup prompt window. How does SFP identify the type of the data in the files? Does the file extension (.bin, .lvm) indicate what's inside?

    If you installed NI-FGEN in the default directory, then C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-FGEN\examples\Waveforms\Waveformdescription.txt should have descriptions of each of the example waveforms and what is inside the file.
    The NI Signal Generators Help file (Start > All Programs > National Instruments > NI-FGEN > Documentation) has the Waveform File Specifications under Interactive Tools > FGEN Soft Front Panel > Waveform File Specifications.
    The SFP does use the file extension to determine the file type. As a simple test, I renamed the fgMode-square.bin example file to fgMode-square.lvm. When I tried to load the renamed file, it gave me an error declaring that the file is not a valid LabVIEW Measurement File (lvm), thus proving the software checks the file extension to determine the contents.
