Validation Multiple Instance of Entity

I have created multiple instance of an entity and there is a regular expression attahced with one attribute of entity.
I want validation of regular expression should be fired for only one instance, but it is getting fired for all instance.
Can you all please give me solution for this.

When you say it is fired for all instances, when is it being fired?
How are you creating the entity instances?

Execution of entity validation multiple times (adf bc 10g)

Implementing entity method validators sometimes causes the validation (e.g. validateEntity method) to execute multiple times. We have figured out that this case occurs when we call method setAttribute programmatically when we implement business rules on the entity level. For example in many cases that we want to enforce dml operation execution, we override the method prepareForDML so that the framework works as follows:
•     calls validateEntity, validates entity for the first time
•     calls prepareForDML –> setAttribute this method invalidates the entity row
•     calls validateEntity, validates entity for a second time
I can understand that sometimes multiple entity validation is necessary and important, there are cases though that this behaviour is not necessary and additionally it degrades performance especially when we utilize sql queries inside the validation (as it executes the queries multiple times).
Is there any workaround to avoid multiple execution of entity validation or enforce the validation to occur only once, for example after the prepareForDML method and not before?

Hi there:
I don't think JDeveloper provides a switch to bypass the Entity Validation. Too much meddling. MVC model has those layers and advocates reducing unnecessary dependencies between layers. Entities and Views are both in Model layer though. But you can build a view without an Entity and vise versa you can have an Entity that doesn't have default views. So my understanding is the Entity Validation is quite necessary.
Though from View layer, on a jspx page, you can use command buttons and set their "immediate" property to "true" to bypass form validation temporarily and postpone it to form submission time.
My understanding for Entity validator is they should be light weighted. You properly should avoid SQL queries directly in them. Instead you should use EntityImpl or ViewObjImpl/ViewRowImpl instead of SQL queries directly in validator.

Is there any version of Indesign that allows to open multiple instance at the same time

I am using Indesign CS3 to generate the bulk reports automatically(programmatically) using Adobe indesign library . One of the key limitation to this tool is it allows to open only one instance at a time unlike word where multiple instances can be opened at the same time. Is there any adobe indesign too version desktop/server which allows to open multiple instances at the same time. Any help on is appreciated. Thanks.

I thought that meant you had read the EULA. It's pretty unambiguous on that point.
For everyone's edification about multiple installations and server use with a standard license here's the relevant text:
2. Software License.
If you obtained the Software and any required serial number(s) from Adobe or one of its authorized
licensees and as long as you comply with the terms of this agreement, Adobe grants you a non-exclusive

Multiple instances of the same APEX application under SSO

Currently we have several applications that are authenticated through Oracle SSO. The apps are authenticating correctly, but I can't be in multiple instances of the same application without having to re-validate through SSO when I move between instances.
Scenario: I'm successfully signed into my "parent" application, app_id 1 through SSO. I click a custom link that opens the "child" application (app_id 2) to view widget "A". When the page is launched I see the usual "Redirecting to the Login Server for authentication" message (verifying that I'm signed in through SSO) and then it succeeds and takes me into app 2, displaying widget A. I click the next link to launch another instance of app 2 with a different APEX session id for viewing widget "B". This also passes through SSO and redirects me into app 2, displaying widget B as expected. But now if I go back to navigate anywhere on widget A in my first instance, it has to go back through the "Redirecting to Login Server." This now means the widget A window is valid, but the widget B window will have to redirect next time I use it (back & forth & so on...)
So my question I suppose is: Is it possible/good practice to allow a single user to open multiple separate instances of the same APEX application using different APEX session_ids viewing different data under Oracle Enterprise SSO?
Guesstimation: It seems like there must be a switch somewhere in SSO that says "allow multiple application instances yes/no"...but my problem may be APEX itself, or how SSO is tied into APEX... Sorry for the super-generic example, I'm not exactly sure where I should be looking to resolve this, and the closest similar problem I found on the forums was here: login to application twice in two seperate IE windows clears other login

reset your dock preferences. delete the file homedirectory/library/preferences/com.apple.dock.plist and log out/in. your dock, spaces and exposé will be reset to the defaults. see if the problem goes away.

Get VI ref for LV executable set to allow multiple instances

I have inherited some LabVIEW code, which I'm not inclined to change, that will run as an executable with multiple instances set to true on a standard Windows PC. There could be up to four of these executables running in parallel on one machine. I need to interact with these four executables programmatically, and I was hoping to use VI Server to get and put values into the FP controls. However, the visible title of these instances is not necessarily known as they change their names depending on their state, which includes a floating point numeric (for example "My Software n=1.234")
Question: From within LabVIEW (my own executable), how do you get a reference to another LabVIEW executable on the same target when there could be n instances of that executable?
Is it possible to get a list of those VIs that are running as an executable? I tried "Application:All VIs In Memory" property but it returns only the VI that the call is inside, and doesn't see the running executable (I'm not surprised).
I thought about using Windows calls to retrieve all window titles and parse them for this executable, but that might not work as the numeric in the title changes rapidly, so no sooner than I've worked out the title it'll already have changed and will no longer be valid for Open VI Reference.
I'll continue to try a few other ideas, but would appreciate any input from you smart folk out there

I'm digging deep here..... Lets toss out any VI ref or method off the top. You need to interact with running applications. To make things just a bit more strange you need to interact with specific instances of the same application while those instances are <poofing> in and out of existance beyond the knowledge of "YourApp.exe"
At least they are on the same target
I cannot think of a elegant way to identify a specific app instance of an exe without the app instance itself supplying some of that info upon launch. The OS is doing the launching and interaction with the app instances and the LVRTE is merely helping interperate the instructions contained in the executable.
Publishing the RunTime read only property App:Active:App to an element of a single process shared variable array of "apps.active" might help. YourApp can read the array and learn what app instances are active. But I may be going down a rabbit hole here since that merely filters the problem down to "Finding one of a few instances of a particular app that is currently running" And it involves modifying the application you inherited. You said you did not want to modify InheritedApp but, IF you chose to, or it becomes necessary anyway, pass App:Active:App + whatever you need to specify instance out of the app when it is called- ( even if its just a filename YourApp and the InheritedAppInstance can use as a data transfer point)
Time for me to sit back and learn something new today.

How to use multiple instances in Oracle CRM On Demand

Hi,
Just wanted to know if we can have multiple instances in Oracle CRM On Demand? Our company has bought licenses for Oracle CRM On demand and have received a single link for the development / staging, but we have two seperate business units that will be using this systems and their processes are completely different....I thing i wanted to ask is if we can have a sub system within a big system without both interfering into each others processes.

Hi Ahmed,
This might be quite possible. Again, it depends on the organizational and technical complexity of both these BU's.
1. There can be different processes in different geographies in which your application might be used. Inorder to achieve this in a single instance of CRM On Demand.
There can be some fields that are specific to certain region, in that case you can use Roles, Access Profiles, Dynamic Layouts to change the Fields of the layouts which will allow the user to enter/read information specific to only that user.
2. Workflows can be used to trigger an event only for users in certain BU defined in your application.
Also the Sales Process is specific to a Role and by configuring them correctly you can make these processes fit your requirements.
3. There are somethings that always remain the same though, like Accounts, Contacts , other entities and the pre-defined relationships, their names. Off-course these can be modified but when modified they apply through the applications. So you won't be able to have different names to the Account entity in the Major BU and the subset BU.
I would suggest you get in touch with Oracle Expert Services if you are looking to get more details on how you can make best out of a single instance.

Drag and drop between multiple instances of an executable

I want to know if there is a special way (not using Windows API) to drag and drop data between multiple instances of a same executable.
I have an application built in LabVIEW, where the main window can open a child window. Each window has a plot control. Between the two windows, a plot data of main window can be copied by drag and drop.
And I open another instance of the same executable. Now there are two executables(A and B).
I want to drag and drop a plot data from the main window of B to the child window of A. But in this case, Drag Enter Event is not fired. I think that the event seems to be fired only inside an executable.
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/AB268878693EF4B586257037004A6725 says that Queue or Semaphore is working only inside an executable. Is drag operation also valid only inside a process?

Placed images (as opposed to pasted images) in Indesign are by their very nature pointers to an external image file, so there is no way to slim down the size of your exported PDF other than by playing with the export settings. Other than that, ensure that your file is placed in Indesign at 100% and at the correct resolution for your desired output. If you open the PDF in Acrobat, you can also save as a reduced size PDF which may help.

Is it possible to disable users changing currency code in data forms with "Allow multiple currencies per entity" option?
I want users can see currency code for cell in data form, but can't change it.

Running multiple instances of program at same time problems

I have a c++ program that uses BerkeleyDB 4.8.26 with transactions. Program works well, and I can run multiple instances of program and they cooperate on database very well. Problem arises when I run a small test program that runs 10 instances of the same program at same time.
Test program opens database with transactions, it does some database reads and writes and quits. This test is run in 10 instances of the same program at the same time. Some instances run and finish well, other instances end up with some of these errors:

Error opening environment: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery

I don't understand reason of this error, as I thought (and read) that BerkeleyDB should be able to handle multiple instances accessing database and is thread-safe.
I tried to run the test on both NFS and local disk drive with same results.
Is there anyone with ide what could be causing this problem ? My platform is x86_64 GNU/Linux 2.6.18-164.el5

Is database link only 'valid' for instances in the same server?

Background: We have 5 servers and installed Oracle 7.3 and 8.
Problem: I managed to create database link to other instance in same server; but not to other server. Error message received was :
ORA-02019: connection description for remote database not found
: TNS server name not found
BUT: I managed it with 'copy from ' command in SQL*plus.
Question: Is database link only 'valid' for instances in the same server?

As already said, one listener is enough. One listener, running from one oracle home, using the default name of LISTENER, running on the defualt port of 1521, is quite capable of -- indeed, WAS DESIGNED TO, supporte multiple database instances of multiple versions running from multiple ORACLE_HOMEs.
One instance of dbcontrol/dbconsole will support only one database. If you do not use Grid Control (extra installation, extra license) you will need to use the emca utility or one of the options in the dbca utility to configure a seperate instance of dbcontrol for each database. Don't worry about the ports, the creation utility will take care of it and report what it does.

Is there a way of preventing multiple instances?

Note that I AM NOT asking about "tab vs. window" behavior when following links, which is what a search on "multiple instances" seems to bring up.
I would just prefer a different behavior when firefox is started from a Windows shortcut. I sometimes forget to glance at the taskbar first, and don't notice that I already have a minimized instance of firefox running, want to browse something, and either doubleclick the desktop icon, or use the start menu. This winds up with two instances of firefox, which I start collecting two separate sets of tabs in, until I notice that I have two of them, usually when I want to refer back to a page I know I opened half an hour ago.
I would prefer a behavior similar to Thunderbird. If it's already running when you start it, it simply unminimizes the running instance. I would even prefer a simple message that simply says "Firefox is already running", similar to some other applications I use.
I realize that there are perfectly valid reasons why many people might want multiple firefox instances, but I don't. I can't find an option for controlling this. If it doesn't exist, I would like to suggest that it should have one.

If it got doubled due to some action, just sort your library by "Date Added," and the extra ones will be together on the time/date of the action, all in a row. Highlight the first that you want to get rid of, hold shift and click the last one. Then delete.

Multiple instances of Mail.app must be possible

I've seen many questions regarding the possibility of running multiple instances of Mail.app as separate processes. There seems to be much good reason to be able to do so, i.e. separating work and private mail, and very little bad reason to do so (maybe some problems when doing upgrades or backups, but I'm not yet sure of this). It also seems that it should not be so hard to do.
So far, using some web acquired wisdom, I've done the following:
1. Duplicate mail.app:
sudo ditto Mail.app WorkMail.app
2. Rename the executable:
mv /Applications/WorkMail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail /Applications/WorkMail.app/Contents/MacOS/WorkMail
3. Use Property List Editor to set the following values in/Applications/WorkMail.app/Contents/Info.plist (Apple-S to Save changes!):
Root/CFBundleExecutable=WorkMail
Root/CFBundleIdentifier=com.apple.workmail
Root/CFBundleName=WorkMail
Root/NSServices/0/NSPortName=WorkMail
Root/NSServices/1/NSPortName=WorkMail

9. Relaunch WorkMail.
Everything at this point seems to work okay, **BUT** when I launch Mail while WorkMail is launched, I find that I cannot navigate into any mail folders within Mail. I receive an error message indicating that a necessary directory is locked. It seems that the locking mechanism used by the application may be hard-coded to lock ~/Library/Mail, and both instances of the application continue to take this action when launched, making it impossible for both to work harmoniously at the same time. I will conduct more testing and experimentation, but I am not yet capable of editing the application itself. If anyone can take us this last step, I'm sure there are many who would also like to be able to take advantage of the potential functionality.

Well, I do have a programming background, and I must say that it amazes me that someone might want to do what you did to “solve” a problem that IMO doesn’t exist.
What exactly is it that you expect to accomplish by running multiple instances of Mail, and for which neither (1) organizing your mail using multiple mail accounts, custom mailboxes, rules, and/or smart mailboxes, nor (2) setting up separate user accounts, are acceptable solutions? I just don’t get it.

I have successfully created an animated button that opens to reveal a quotation with a nested clickable link to the source. What I would like to do is have several of these with different quotes inside them, scattered on the page. I have looked at the composition loader available via Edge Commons, and it seems that would require some sort of Edge animate Stage 'frame' to load the instances into? Is there any way to place them directly into the master page - as div elements...?
The outer of the buttons is the same, on hover they open partialy on click fully, to reveal their particular text - which I thought about loading it at runtime with json, or maybe handlebars...?
I would also like to make the buttons only take the necessary space. ie. before they expand they are only buttons. ( I have set the stage to hidden but it still takes up space). To acheive this, I think perhaps I will have to target the inner components css, and set them as display:none until the button is hovered over, then set :hover and :active pseudo classes inside edge. Is this feasible?

But there is an error I don't understand at line 7...
Also - as you can see, at present I have several symbols in parallel. Would I be better off nesting the text containers inside the outer button container? and would I be better off creating styled mini- pages of text data, and then loading them - instead of loading them as symbols? I have had to create seperate symbols because I cannot adequately stle the text - so some is bold, some is italic etc. within one text field. Or can I? I guess I could nest several text fields inside one symbol...?
I remain unsure how to load the finished animation button instances. In your example you were still loading into an animation But from yor example, I guess I would need to place all my examples inside an outer edge composition... but then I think positioning them accurately with css, making adjustments etc. will be fairly tricky. Is there any way to place multiple instances directly into divs in index.html? Could I simply repeat the class...? I may be answering my own questions here.

The only observations are that the backup drive is deemed too small and the quite long list of diagnostic reports dated between Jan 18, 2015 (which I believe is the day I upgraded to Yosemite) & today the latest Yosemite update was installed on Jan 28, 2015

Multiple instances of firefox running cannot kill in task manager "Access denied"

There's no issue with starting a new instance after closing one, the "firefox is already running" error is not occurring (ok maybe once or twice a month, but it's not related to this problem, as my problem happens all the time.)
Apparently when closing a ff window it never fully stops. My computer slows down because of it and these multiple instances of firefox show up in Task Manager. When I try to kill the extra processes it just goes "BANG" and the "access denied" error dialog box appears. They are all running under my user account, and in CPU some are just 10 or 25 and some are in the hundreds and some are over a million. what the heck is going on?
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and ff 23.0 but this has been happening since about ff 15 (?)

When closing Firefox completely, it is important to close it using the <i>Exit</i> button, located inside of the Firefox/File menu.
Another cause to this problem could be a Firefox preloader. Do you have any programs that will load Firefox automatically? They are supposed to improve start time.
You can also '''try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
