Validation Rule Help Need

Dear Friends,
I am new to FDM.
Can anyone help me out with this request?
User need to validate the following formula to be true.
6xxxxx + 67xxxS + 68xxxx = 0
6xxxxx , 67xxxS and 68xxxx are Account Members.
How do I get members which begins with 6, 67 or 68?
Thanks in advance,
Roger

Hi,
If both the tables belongs to the same database , consider writing the SQL statement with LEFT JOIN and check for NULL values if match or not.

  • OB28 Validation rule.. need to compare with other environment

    Hi All,
I need to compare the validation rule (OB28)  present in the Development environment with the Production Environment. So is there any way out where in we could export the validation rule into an excel file and then do a comparision.?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Regards,
    Shailendra.

I think you need to use Ajax.
It is very simple. write a function in onchange event of the input field
    <input type="text" name="appdt" size="10" maxlength="20" id="dateField" class="dateparse">
It will invoke a simple javacript function say
    <input type="text" name="appdt" size="10" maxlength="20" id="dateField" class="dateparse" onchange="fetchRecordsDatewise(this.value);">
in the function definition of fetchRecordsDatewise(dateval)
pass dateval to another recordFetch.jsp page with value dateval.
In the recordFetch.jsp using request.getParameter() get the dateval's value nad query the db.
now there print the matching db record.
again you come to the onreadystatechange event handling javascript function that will process the response,
maybe just to show the datewise record inside a div with div_show, with the following line
document.getElementById("div_show").innerHTML=resp; //here resp is the response string from recordFetch.jsp
if you don't know Ajax then, you can see simple ajax example with jsp.
    Hope these solves your problem.

  • Validation Rule Help on FAGLGVTR

Hi, I'm trying to create a validation rule that will simply trigger a Warning message when a User either accesses the FAGLGVTR transaction or if they execute the transaction in Test Mode.  I could not find a way to do this through a validation rule through GGB0.  Can anyone provide guidance on this?  Thank you

    Hi,
First you have to check F.16 Ledger, Co.code & Carry forward fiscal year. In the process of New GL implementation we use this FAGLGVTR which runs programs.
GBBO is used for validations to define E= error, W= warning, A= Cancel, I= information and validation generates ABAP code to perform validations. Please check validation name, Application Area and CallUp Point(determines validation run).

  • IP address rules - help needed

I recently bought a Synology DS212j NAS and set it up last week. I'm new to NAS and port forwarding, so I struggled to manually forward the ports on my BT home hub 3, but got there in the end.
I can use my iphone to access my movies & songs on the NAS, using the Synology iphone apps. It works when I am at home, or out and about on 3G or wifi.
The only thing I haven't managed to sort out is the IP address that the iphone app needs to connect to. The NAS created a DDNS IP address for me (I don't really understand what this is, but followed the instructions). This works fine when I am on 3G or away from the home. But when I am at home on my own wifi network, I need to log out of the app and log back in using the 192.168.1.xxx IP address. Using the synology "xxx.synology.me" address doesnt work when at home on wifi. This isn't a big deal, but I would like to get it fixed if possible, it would be nice not to have to log in/out depending on where I am.
Is it possible to somehow make the BT HH3 use the xxxx.synology.me IP address correctly when I am at home using home wifi? Thanks for any help and apologies if anything is unclear.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

This is because the home hub 3 does not support NAT loopback. This is fixed in the latest firmware revision, which is just being rolled out now.

  • Defaulting Rule - Help Needed

    hi,
I want to default the Order Line based on specific Item. I have created the Defaulting Condition Template specifying the item for Entity Order Line.
At the Item Type : I have added a new defaulting condition with a precedence later than the Regular Line and have added a constant value as the order line type.
But it doesnt seem to work out. I have compiled the defaulting rules. But it still does not seem to work out.
Can any one help or atleast point out how to get this thing working ?
The idea is to have separate line type created for manufactured shippable items and separate line type for service items. Service module is not being implemented.
since, the number of service items are not large so I am planning to hard code with the service items.
I am not sure how the PL/SQL process would work. But if somebody could point out the PL/SQL usage for this with pseudo code. I think it might help out.
    Thanks,
    Dhiraj

    Hi Dhiraj,
I understand that you are looking for different line types for different item types. This can be easily set up in the transaction type definition form itself. You don't have to setup special defaulting rules for this.
In the transaction type form , when you assign line flows, it lets you choose item type. So you can set different line types for each item_type.

  • Validation rules applied to data migration templates at import

    Hi everyone!
First post here for me, so please bear with me if I missed something.
My company has just started the initial implementation of ByDesign. We come from a set of disparate and partially home-grown systems that we outgrew a few years ago.
As part of this initial phase, we are basically re-creating the data on customers, suppliers, etc. since none of our existing systems makes a good source, unfortunately. We will be using the XML templates provided by ByDesign itself to import the relevant data.
It has become clear that ByDesign applies validation rules on fields like postal codes (zip codes), states (for some countries), and other fields.
It would be really helpful if we could get access to the rules that are applied at import time, so that we can format the data correctly in advance, rather than having to play "trial and error" at import time. For example, if you import address data, the first time it finds a postal code in the Netherlands which is formatted as "1234AB", it will tell you that "there needs to a space in the 5th position, because it expects the format to be "1234 AB". At that point, you stop the import, go back to the template to fix all the Dutch postal codes, and try the import again, only to run into the next validation issue.
We work with a couple of very experienced German consultants to help us implement ByDesign, and I have put this question to them, but they are unaware of a documented set of validation rules for ByDesign. Which is why I ask the question here.
So just to be very celar on what we are looking for: the data validation/formatting rules that ByDesign enforces at the time the XML data migration templates are imported.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Best regards,
    Eelco

    Hello Eelco,
welcome to the SAP ByDesign Community Network!
The checks performed on postal codes are country specific, and represent pretty much the information that you would find in places like e.g. the "Postal Codes" page in Wikipedia.
I recommend to start with small files of 50-100 records that are assembled of a representative set of different records, in order to collect the validation rules that need reactions based on your data in an efficient way. Only once you have caught these generic data issues, I would proceed to larger files.
Personnaly I prefer to capture such generic work items on my list, then fix the small sample file immediately by editing, and do an immediate resimulation of the entire file, so that I can drill deeper and collect more generic issues of my data sample. Only after a while when I have harvested all learnings that were in my sample file, I would then apply the collected learnings to my actual data and create a new file - still not too large, in order to use my time efficiently.
    Best regards

  • Creating SSIS validation rules

    Hi All
I'm pretty new to SSIS and was wondering if anybody could help me?
I need to create a validation rule which needs to compare dates from two tables in an SSIS package. The rule I need to achieve is as follows
1.If the dates match (This is the first agreement)
2.If the dates don't match (This is a duplicate record(Update state field in table B))
Pretty sure that I am going to need 2 OLE DB Sources and then Merge the two data sets together. I then think that I will need to Sort the data but not sure how i implement the rules that need
to be established during the sort? Lastly I need to output the results and update the field status
    Hope someone can help

  • Trying to create a Field Validation Expression and need help

I have a picklist field and another field that are in question. I want to set some sort of rule that forces the second field to be populated only If specific values are selected from the picklist field.
I was going the route of a field validation Rule, but everything i've tried so far does not produce the results i am trying to achieve.
The first type of expression i tried was:
([<plProduction_Print_Account_Category_ITAG>] <> LookupValue("OCC_CUST_LOV_ACCOUNT_1", "No Production Print") AND ([<stSIC_Code_ITAG>] IS NULL))
This is generating the field validation error message when i select any of the correct values from the picklist. the problem is still the second field, which will generate the error if a value is entered into the second field, regardless of the picklist value selected. Switching the "IS NULL" to "IS NOT NULL" only reverses the problem on the second field, causing the error to generate when the second field is updated to a NULL or blank value.
    I also tried :
= 'No Production Print' AND [<stSIC_Code_ITAG>] IS NOT NULL
    and got similar results.
    ([<plProduction_Print_Account_Category_ITAG>] = LookupValue("OCC_CUST_LOV_ACCOUNT_1", "No Production Print"))
    Similar results as well.
Does this need to be an IIF statement? Do I need to make this a workflow expression instead? i could really use some help as I have tried everything i can think of and admit, i'm not the expression guru!!!. Any assistance would be appreciated.
    TeknoMan

Yes we have the same request and we used the following expression. Example we have a field "Método de pago" ( [<plMtodo_de_pago_ITAG<]), it's values are "CHEQUE and DEPOSITO" if we select DEPOSITO three more fields were requiered Route, Sucursal de banco and Clabe so we have to put this validation in the four fields including Metodo de pago.
[<plMtodo_de_pago_ITAG>] <> "DEPOSITO" OR ([<Route>] IS NOT NULL AND [<nSucursal_de_banco_ITAG>] IS NOT NULL AND [<stCLABE_ITAG>] IS NOT NULL)
well in the field CLABE we put the following [<plMtodo_de_pago_ITAG>] <> "DEPOSITO" OR ([<Route>] IS NOT NULL AND [<nSucursal_de_banco_ITAG>] IS NOT NULL AND [<stCLABE_ITAG>] IS NOT NULL AND Len([<stCLABE_ITAG>])=18) this was because the len of the value must be 18 characters.
I hope this works for you

  • How do you create custom validation rule in WS 9.2?!?!?!

    Hello,
I am using Workshop 9.2. I created a page flow, and want to do some form validations.
I saw the simple 9.2 example, but it is only good for very basic validation, what if you have to validate the form field against a database, must you write a custom validation rule? HOW would you do this in 9.2 so that will still stay with the workshop/netui paradigm?
    http://beehive.apache.org/docs/1.0.1/netui/validation.html
    Keith

    Hi Keith,
Staying within the declarative validation framework the answer is probably that you do need to write a custom validation rule and refer to it using the @Jpf.ValidateCustomRule annotation.
The NetUI Annotation Reference shows how the Struts validations are supported via the framework.
    http://beehive.apache.org/docs/1.0.1/netui/annotations/pageflow_annotations.html
Specifically, if you look through the @Jpf.Validate* annotations, while most of these are "canned" common validations, there are a few that are more open-ended, such as @Jpf.ValidateMask and @Jpf.ValidateValidWhen.
Those two let you write the validation logic in the annotation while @Jpf.ValidateCustomeRule only refers to a custom rule in the struts validator file.
In any case, there is a validation rule editor which should help in authoring and managing the annotations. In the Page Flow Explorer or Page Flow Editor just right click on the action or form bean bean of interest and choose Validation Rules and the appropriate scope.
I hope that's of some use,
    Troy

  • FI Validation rule error message problem at line item level

    Hello all.
I have created a step within an FI Validation rule (OB28) at the document line item level.  I have set the  message to "E" for an error.  I have generated the validations.  When I test my step, the error is triggered, but triggered as an Information popup - warning and does not give me a hard stop.   Does anyone have an idea why this may happen?   I need this to be a hard stop but not a cancellation of the document entry.  I am using FV60 to enter my document.
    Thanks for help.
    mvp0821

OSS note # 863267 explains answer.  Cannot create "error" message on ENJOY transactions - FV60 is included in this list.  "E" works on classic transactions.
    Thanks for thinking about this.

  • Cross Validation Rules

I accidentally defined a cross validation rule (CVR) wrongly. My intention was to ensure that cost centre values other than 999 couldn’t be combined with balance sheet accounts.
It appears to work initially, except that it prevents me from posting to any non-balance sheet accounts codes, because in the journal entry window the only cost centre segment value that I see is 999, and in the account code segment, the only values that I see are balance sheet account codes.
I need to see other cost centre values and account code values so as to post to P&L account codes, but they are not showing in the journal entry window. I have tried many times to disable the CVR but it hasn’t help. I tried to change the CVR and saved it but it hasn’t help either.
Can someone let me know how to remove this annoying cross validation rule altogether so that I will be back to where I started?

    hi colin,
obviously it is not the CVR problem, coz CVRs will not effect the LOVs. check the security for the responsibility you are using.
    thanks,

  • How can I use database constraints in entity attribute validation rules

I am interested in using database constraints to validate attributes in entity objects.
I would like to implement a JboValidatorInterface in a way that I can use an operator like "GreaterOrEqualTo" to compare with values retrieved from the database for a column associated with an entity object attribute.
I have used this pattern with success in other environments, where the user community decides the minimum value for a thing should change from x to y, and simply changing a database object also changes the validation methods of all applications which access it.
I am not certain that column constraints are the appropriate vehicle, but so far that seems to be the case.
I see that you can create a validation rule which makes comparisons against a view object attribute. I am wondering if there is a generic way to use standardized names for column constraints along with ADF hooks into properties of database columns, to avoid writing individual queries for each attribute.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Jeffrey,
If you already have constraints on the underlying tables, why do you need to validate them in ADF BC? You can certainly use some framework extension classes to give the user nicely formatted error messages - see ER: ADF BC - allow custom error msgs for common exceptions (e.g. DML) for more details.
I am using this method so that anything that is enforced in the database (check constraints, foreign keys, unique constraints, etc) are not enforced in the ADF BC layer as well - after all, there's more than one way to get data into a table, and DB constraints ensure that even if data gets in through another mechanism (apart from the ADF application), it is valid. My 2 cents, of course.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Validation rule for expense type

    Hi,
I'd like to know if it's possible to create a validation rule for expense type and personnel number.
I need to lock some expense types for some personnel number.
    Thanks in advance.
    Osmar Tardivo.

    Hello,
Sorry to say but I am not aware of any customization which restrict an expenses type based on personal number..
There is a setting which can restrict Travel Expense Types based on Employee Grouping. Please go through below path.
Travel Management-> Travel Expenses-> Control Parameters for Travel Expenses-> Control Parameters from Travel Privileges-> Define Employee Grouping for Travel Expense Types
    Hope this help you!

  • Cross-Validation Rules: How to re-validate segments all ready enabled?

Is it possible to call one of the APIs to re-validate the code combinations againts the Cross-Validation Rules? If the enabled flag is set to 'Y' then the CVR is ignored. I am aware of the Cross-Validation Rules Report which is helpful, but I need to go a step further. I'm looking to loop through the gl.gl_code_combinations tables, re-validate the combinations that are enabled, if CVR fails then determine if there are any amounts that need to be moved prior to disabling the combination.
    I have a routine that:
    1. creates temp table of all enabled combinations
    2. loops through gl_code_combinations
    3. deletes record from gl_code_combinations, do not commit
    4. calls API fnd_flex_keyval.validate_segs
    5. updates status of temp table
    6. rollback deleted record
    7. repeat 2 - 7 until done
    8. query gl_balances using temp table combintions that have failed.
I'm a little nervous to run such a routine, because of the delete.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jamie

Use where clause for that UDA's in attribute that refer to other attributes data source. the where clause may required use Lookupcodes, these lookup codes may have to be configure in the source attribute values table column.

    Hello,
You need to create the validation in GGB0
You will have pre-requisite, check and message.
Then assign the validation rule in OB28.
