How the value catagories updates Project cost report if cost elements are assigned in value catagories.Can anybody explain me in detail?

Hi Sudhir,
As you rightly mentioned value categories are defined and assigned cost elements (primary or secondary).
Now suppose there is a goods receipt, so the primary cost element for external material is charged and hence the cost info rests on the Value category External Procurement. Value category brings the cost to the network order on which the procurement was initiated and hence to the WBS/Project as assigned.
Similar is the case using secondary cost elements.

    You can do the following customizing steps... this will help you to configure as per your needs. This is not as per your need, as only you can understand what all the customizations you need to do........
    1. Create Progress Version 101 with exclusive use 'Progress Analysis'. I have selected Plan & Actual check boxes. 
    2. Settings for Progress Version- 
    a) Plan version - '0' 
    b) EV basis - Cost plan (active project, annual values) 
    c) POC weighting - Cost plan (active project, annual values)
    d) Planning type - Basic dates 
    e) Early / Late - earliest possible 
    f) Both reference boxes selected 
    3. SKFs (statistical key fig.)- I created three SKFs 10 (Non-Aggregated POC), 20 (Aggregated POC) and 30 (POC for RA) with unit of measure '%' and selected the Key value category 'Total values'. 
    4. I need to assign these SKFs to different value categories. I created three value category 10, 20 & 30 with selection 'SKF with total values' and unit of measure '%'. Then I assigned SKF 10 to VC 10, SKF 20 to VC 20, SKF 30 to VC 30
    5. I assigned measurement method as default value: 
    a) WBS (Plan) - Cost Proportional 
    b) WBS (Actual) - Cost Proportional 
    c) Internal Activity (Plan) - Cost Proportional 
    d) Internal Activity (Actual) - Degree of Processing 
    c) Exernal activity(Plan) - Cost Proportional 
    d) Exernal Activity (Actual) - Degree of Processing 
    6. I made progress cost element '6511100' (Secondary cost element) with Cost element category as 61. 
    7. I maintain a value catagory 6511100 with Cost radio button selected.
    And assigned the progress cost element to the value catagory. i.e Cost element 6511100 to value catagory 6511100.
    8. I maintain the assignment of cost element group. ie. I assigned progress cost elemnt to cost element group with default radio button selected. In the cost element group, I have selected certain cost elements which we regularly used (cost elements for project materials, project manhours, project contracts, spares etc)
    Run CJEN first then CNE1 and CNE5.

  • Settled Cost still shows in Reports

    Dear Consultants
    I have settled 50 % cost from WBS element to Cost Center and in reports it shows all the 100% cost on that WBS element. Can anyone please tell me how I can show only the remaining 50% of cost in report and not the settled cost. If there any particular report or setting..please help me

    Pls check whether 50% settled cost showing is in statistical form. cost element catagory 99/ value type 11.
    if it is so, customise the value catagory settings as per SAP note 676123. refer section 1b.
    you can block the update to table rpsco.

  • Release orders for value contract

    Hi Folks,
    I have question on value contract.
    Customer contract is fullfilled by issuing orders against the contract. When a release order is created for the contract, the system automatically updates the released values in the contract. The release order value is calculated from the total of the open order and delivery values, plus the value that has already been billed to the value contract. System checks this value with "Outline agreement target value" in value contract and issues warning or error message depends on configuration settings in value contract item catagory.
    We have business scenario where system has to check net value of value contract rather than checking "Outline agrrement target value" in value contract. Because we offer some discounts to customer in value contract thus net value of the contract differs from agreement value. So that system will issue error message when release order value exceeds net value of value contract.
    Is there any customizing settings available to meet the requirement?

  • Text catagory - Text item (TATX) in sales order

    In Sales order, we generaly use item catagory - TAN (standard item) or TANN (free of charge).
    - When should we use the item catagory - TATX (text item)?
    - Should we maintin the material master for text items?
    - Also please provide exaple of Text items?

    suppose if we are selling a TV then the TV manual also has to go the customer that is text item TATX
    In the item category determination in VOV4 for the sales doc type OR+item category group maintained as blank usage is TEXT item category of the highel level item nil For this combination the default item category would be TATX
    That means thro usage program TEXT(ABAP program) system determines it is a text item and gives item category as tatx
    The example of text item is TV manual
    Generally  for TEXT items we dont maintain MMR's but again this is business requirement only
    If some business cases if it is reqd we can maintain MMR's for text items with a special material type and without any qty or value updation

    Hi Experts,
    I hav a confusion...that is...
    Suppose that. ....we  create a work center (5111) with category MACHINE...& maintain capacity data tab with both catagories (labor+ m/c).....then after......again we create this work center(5111) with different category LOBOR & maintain " capacity data tab" with only labor  capacity catagory.....& then this w/c (5111) is assingned with in routhing of product "A"...
    Note--all relavant data formula/std value key etc is properly maintained.......
    My question is that... During .production order creation of prodt "A" .....FROM WHERE THE DATA IS TO  BE PICK FROM WHICH  WORK CENTER CATAGORY??? if possible... how..plz explain me...i  will be thnkful to u..

    the same workcenter CODE  "5111"  cant b use for 2 categories.
    But if you want to include both in one code,  decide the orientation or the bottleneck capacity in this workcenter.
    whether its Machine or labor. Out of these which is ur deciding factor in scheduling and capacity planning.
    only use that as category and in capacity tab, u can use both Machine and labor as capacity and their data.

    This is a part of my code for a shoppingcart. I have been trying to get the value from the text box which is the quantity for this cart. - <input type="text" name=<%=numbername[j]%> size="2" > But the values are static from this page. When I enter the values from the page, it did not give the values i enter instead the static values appears. Can anyone know a way to get the value as entered in this for loops?     Here is the code that I am using. The only problem is that when I entered the quantity of the order , it did not take my entered number instead the static integer I assigned earlier; String[] numbername ={"1","1","1"}; located in the middle of this code. See I have to assign all quantity to 1 to all the products initially. But If some one want more than one, that person has to type the number on the text box. How can I retrieve that number instead of one. I generate all the numbers inside of the for loop. Please take a closer look at the middle part of the assigned code. Very urgent, thanks ahead.

  • Multi value selection for characteristics under class type 200

    Hello Experts,
    Please suggest
    I am trying to assign a class type 200 to the material master of a component say ABC.
    While selecting the values for chars under classification I need to select more than one value for a characteristics say XYZ(single value).
    Because when the K item will be replaced by L item from my class BOM, I want ABC to be in the BOM expolsion for  ANY of the multiple values I select under classification of ABC.

    Thanks for providing example, here the problem is , during replacement of class with material number system looks for exact match.
    In classification view you cant put or condition, what ever value we assigned there is consider as AND replationship.
    you can create 3 similar material , and assign them this combination , like for XYZ1 , model is A1, XYZ2 , Model =A2 etc
    or
    For such requirement , the better option is instead of class put material number directly in BOM with item catagory L and assign selection condition with logic select this component if MODEL =  A2 or A3 or B1 and DOR=CW & MOC=CI
    It will work , with class node it will not work.

    you can get it from EKPO table whisch contains the item data.
    check ATTYP

    try checking PSTYP in EKPO which show the item category.
    it has values 0-9 but there will be conversion exit which will show the meaningful data.</b>

    Application Developer > Attachments > Document Categories
    Create a new category. You can leave the application blank. Save.
    Then click on Assignments and create a record of the type Function. I assume the name is "Projects" for you. If you are not sure, query up an existing category so you know what type and name you should use.

    Hi Nitin,
    you can specify which item categories the system proposes during document processing for each sales document type and item category group. At the same time, you can specify additional item categories with which the system default can be overwritten. There is a maximum of three possible alternative item categories.
    If, for example, you enter a material with the item category group NORM in a standard order, the SAP System determines the allowed item category via the assignment of item categories to sales document types and item category groups.
    The system default and the allowed alternatives are always determined from the sales document type and one or two further criteria. The system default depends on the following criteria:
    sales document type
    item category group
    item category of the higher-level item
    item category usage
    Note
    The SAP System automatically copies the item category determined for a sales document item to the delivery.
    Recommendation
    Depending on the initial situation you can start the assignment differently:
    When you define a new sales document type, you should specify the proposed and the allowed item categories for the materials that are represented by the item category group.
    When you define a new item category, you should specify for which sales document types an item category is proposed or which item category is possible for the materials represented by the item category group.
    When you define a new item category group, you are to enhance the assignment of item categories to sales document types by this new item category group.
    Actions
    To define item category determination, proceed, for example, as follows:
    1. Choose the sales document type to which you want to assign item categories.
    2. Then choose one of the item category groups.
    3. Specify all the allowed item categories for the combination of sales document type and item category group.
    If you are dealing with a non-material item, you must specify the corresponding item usage.
    If it is a subitem, specify the item category of the higher-level item.
    If it is an item category that is to be proposed in the sales document, you must indicate the combination of item category, item category group and sales document type as a default value.
    4. If necessary, specify between one and a maximum of three item categories, with which the system default can be manually overwritten during document processing.

    I agree that the solution given by us could not be the one you wanted, but given you had just explained the issue in one line, what else can you get?
    You were suppose to post your further queries in that same Thread & continue it further until you get a satisfactory answer. That would have been a great learning for all of us...

  • Get all values from request.getParameter

    In ASP, I can do something like that...
    For each item in Request.Form
    Response.write "Name is:" & item & " value is:" & Request(item)
    Next
    How about in JSP? How do i get the names and values of the form using a loop?

    You can use request.getParameterNames() which will return an enumeration, then you can iterate through the enumeration and use request.getParameterValue(String paramName) method to get the values.

  • Error while assigning a character value to a numeric variable.

    I fire a sql statement and check the number of rows returned by the sql.
    I check this result with the application logs.
    The application logs keeps the sqls fired by the application and the no of rows returned, in the example below the sql returned 8454 rows.
    My script compares the two results.

    Or you could to it all in awk(1):

    (This example was not tested, it's just for a model.)
    Someone more of an SQL guru than I can probably tell you how to change your numeric locale to avoid presenting those commas in the first place and avoid the problem.
