Variable type exit with two source variables

I have a case where I should determine a variable (A) value according to two other variables (B) and (C). That is, e.g.
- IF (B)=x AND (C)=y THEN (A)=z
- IF (B)=i AND (C)=j THEN (A)=k
It seems like I cannot call the user exit with more than one exported variable, the standard call below:
call function m_user_exit
  exporting
    i_area      = m_area
    i_variable  = m_variable
    i_chanm     = l_chanm
    ito_chanm   = mto_chanm
  importing
    eto_charsel = rto_value
Any suggestions?
Regards, Aki

Thanks to everyone especially to Natarajan,
Both source variables are type exit, so I did the following:
A-variable was the “standard source”
B-variable was determined by function call (source below)
C-variable then determined by combination of A and B
I added this simple code in the beginning of “your own logic”  and I had source_var_B as a “B-variable”.
DATA: source_var_B TYPE upc_yto_charsel.
call function 'ZDETERMINE_B'
  exporting
    i_area      = 'AREA'
    i_variable  = 'VAR_B'
    i_chanm     = 'CHAR_B'
    ito_chanm   = ito_chanm
  importing
    eto_charsel = source_var_B.
Do you see any risks or inconsistencies or whatever I should take into account?
Aki

    Using administrator responsibility, first create 2 instance partitions.
    Then using the instances screen, create the 2 instances. Make sure you have setup the db links prior to that.
    Then assign appropriate orgs to the 2 instances.
    After that, the remaining setups (such as DC, defining plans etc.) should be repeated for instances.

  • DBConnect with two different oracle versions

    Hullo folks,
    I've been looking for threads concerning the use of SAP BI's DBConnect tool with multiple external oracle databases.
    My client is currently using BI 3.5 and we have successfully used DBConnect to extract information from an external Oracle 9.2.0.5.0 database (btw BW uses the same oracle version).
    Currently my customer requests to extract information from a new external non-sap application. This application will be using an oracle database as well, but it will use the latest oracle version, 10.
    I know that in the past it wasn't possible to use DBConnect with different oracle versions as the differences were to big. I wonder whether this is also the case with the oracle 9 and 10 versions. Would it be possible to use both versions and extract the data with DBConnect? Or are the changes too big and SAP BW can only pick one of these versions? Perhaps there's a workaround? I don't know, and I'm hoping some of you know something.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your answer,
    though this doesn't answer my question. Yes, I know I'll have to create a different sourcesystem for the new oracle database.
    However, I can only use one ini file for Oracle in DBConnect. In the past it wasn't possible to have active connections with different versions of oracle databases (you can only have one file for oracle installed in DBConnect).
    The question is, whether it's possible to have a connection with two source systems where one uses Oracle 10 and the other Oracle 9... and if it's possible which file should be used in DBConnect...

  • Fgv with two types of variables

    it goes something like this
    i want the FGV to have a cluster of two 1D arrays of double (that will be the FGV variable). and the data that i'm "adding" is a double number/constant (whatever), this will be the added variable.
    the main idea is that i want to be able to select to which one of the two i'm adding the additional number and i think it's pretty easy to accomplish with case structure and a simple boolean control (reference), that is what i've done.
    the problem is that if i don't connect anything to the shift register of the FGV labview doesn't recognize it as the FGV variable i've described and if i do, it's an additional input which i don't want to use later.
    in theory, i can make my additional variable to also be a cluster with two 1D arrays of type double within, however, since my input consists of only one number, i'm not sure how to accomplish it.
    thanks in advance.
    it would be good to know if something like this is even possible. (first option)

  • SEM- VARIABLE TYPE EXIT

    Hi
    We have a planning area where I have various variable that represent the product hierarchy, in particular:
    u2022     Market
    u2022     Brand
    u2022     Family
    The user select the value for any variables and thereu2019s a function module that derives the value of material, the material is another variable type exit.
    The IO material has various attributes that I use in layout, one of these (material group 3) has many value, but I need only two values:
    u2022     PCO
    u2022     STD
    In layout the user has to see only material with PCO, then I create a variable for characteristic material group 3 fixed PCO used in level and layout. Itu2019s ok
    Now I must create another layout in same planning area, where the user has to see both, PCO and STD.
    I created a new level where I donu2019t use the variable for characteristic material group 3, but this variable is fixed PCO, the material derived by FM obviously are only PCO.
    How can I do?
    Thanks in adavance for suggestion

  • BPS Variables of Type Exit (How To Document)

    Hello,
    I'm trying to restrict entries for (say) variable #2, based on the selection of variable #1.
    I've just realised characteristic relationships cannot be used and need to use a user exit.  I've gone through the "How To" on BPS Variables of Type Exit and have gotten the function modules to working properly.
    However when the function module attempts to pass the data to BPS Variable #2, BPS gives an ERROR saying that in order to write new values into variable #2, the variable must have a replacement path "USER DEFINED VALUES".
    However this is not possible as the replacement path must be set to "USER EXIT" so the function module can be activated.
    The only way around this is to tell the function module which BPS Variable it should choose to write the data to, if so does anyone the ABAP to store values into a BPS Variable.
    Right now would appreciate any comment on this.
    Kind regards,
    Marinos

    Hi Marc,
    Yes, the How To paper answers my problem, and when I run the program via se37 the correct variable selections are being populated in table ETO_CHARSEL.  However when values are passed to the BPS Variable, the first information message read "The Conditions were Adapted"  but no values are passed to the variable.  Then a second error message "Entry not possible, var does not have replacement type user-spec vals."  This seems to be a conundrum as the variable needs to be set as user-exit.
    Any thoughts?

  • Calculation of interest amount with two variables formula

    Hello everyone,
    Iu2019m facing a problem with the way that TRM calculate the interest amount for money market transaction when I have a formula with two variable, e.g. reference interest rate u201CXu201D multiplied by 0,98.
    Some contracts explicitly say that to obtain the u201Cdaily interest rateu201D of the contract firstly the u201Cdaily interest rateu201D of the reference interest rate must be calculated and then apply a index or factor (e.g. 0,98). In the other hand some contracts says that it should be done the other way around. Iu2019ve noticed that TRM calculate the interest amount using the first way.
    Is there any way to set which the way the interest amount should be calculates?
    Has anyone faced similar problem?
    The examples below illustrate the difference in the two ways to calculate interest amount.
    Considering the following money market transaction:
    1. Borrowing structure:
    1.1. amount: USD 1.000.000,00
    1.2. flow type: 1105 u201CBorrowing/Increaseu201D
    2. Term (only one day to simplify the example)
    2.1. Start date: 30.01.2011
    2.2. End data:   31.01.2011
    3. Interest structure:
    3.1. Interest form: VARIABLE ( formula = Z1 * 0,98), where u201CZ1u201D is a reference interest rate
    3.2. condition type: 1200 u201CNominal interestu201D
    3.3. Interest calculation method: ActW/252
    Considering that Z1u2019s annual interest rate in 30.01.2011 is 11,66%, TRM would perform the following calculation:
    1. Contract annual interest rate (%) = Z1*0,98 = 11,66 *0,98 = 11,42680000%
    2. Convert from u201CContract annual interest rate (%)u201D  to number = 1,11426800
    3. u201CContract daily interest rateu201D = 1,11426800 ^(1/252) = 1,00042945
    4. Convert from u201Cnumberu201D to Day interest rate (%)  = 0,04294481%
    5. Interest amount = u201CContract daily interest rateu201D * Borrowed amount = 0,04294481% * 10.000.000,00 = 4.294,48
    In the other hand, some contracts say that the interest rate should be calculated in the following way:
    1. Annual interest rate (%) = 11,66  = 11,66000000%
    2. Convert from u201CAnnual interest rate (%)u201D  to number = 1,11660000
    3. Daily interest rate = 1,11660000 ^(1/252) = 1,00043775
    4. Convert from u201Cnumberu201D to Daily interest rate (%)  = 0,04377480%
    5. Calculate u201CContract daily interest rateu201D = 0,04377480% * 0,98 = 0,04289930%
    5. Interest amount = u201CContract daily interest rate (%)u201D  * Borrowed amount = 0,04289930% * 10.000.000,00 = 4.289,93
    With this simple scenario  we end up with a USD 4,55 difference for a single day, but for big contracts of hundred millions and for several years the difference is quite  huge.
    Thanks in advance ..
    Giuliano

    Hi,
    with Product Category 550 you can have both scenarios:
    for the 1st case you can use a formular (e.g. EONIA * 0,98)
    => interest for 1 day: 462,70 EUR
    for the 2nd case you can use the field Variable Interest Rate (EONIA) + field Payment Rate (98)
    => interest for 1 day: 453,44 EUR
    Is this, what you are looking for?

    Hi Libby,
    Select all three columns of data. All three must be 'regular' columns, not Header columns, and the X values must be in the leftmost column.
    Click the Charts button and choose the Scatter chart.
    The resulting chart will initially show only the first and second columns of data, and the selection will have been reduced to show this.
    Click the gear icon at the top left of the selection and choose Share X Values.
    You should see a result similar to this:
    Notes:
    The values on my sample table contain a random element, so they have changed from thhe first image to the second.
    The chart is as created by Numbers, with two edits:

  • Variable Type EXIT - Locking Transaction Data

    Dear all,
    I have to use a variable type Exit in the level to identify all cost centers for a planner and his corresponding boss (master data lookup). Now e.g.
    the planner has cost center 1 and 2 as possible single values. The boss has cost center 1, 2, 3,and 4 because he also is the boss of an other one.
    The result is now that the boss locks all cost centers 1,2,3 and four even if he only plans e.g. the cost center 4. In this way it is not possible for the planner to enter data for 1 or 2 the same time.
    Does anybody has an idea to solve this situation or how to lock only the values of the variable that is really in use?

  • Join two source tables and replicat into a target table with BLOB

    Hi,
    I am working on an integration to source transaction data from legacy application to ESB using GG.
    What I need to do is join two source tables (to de-normalize the area_id) to form the transaction detail, then transform by concatenate the transaction detail fields into a value only CSV, replicate it on the target ESB IN_DATA table's BLOB content field.
    Based on what I had researched, lookup by join two source tables require SQLEXEC, which doesn't support BLOB.
    What alternatives are there and what GG recommend in such use case?
    Any helpful advice is much appreciated.
    thanks,
    Xiaocun

    Xiaocun,
    Not sure what you're data looks like but it's possible the the comma separated value (CSV) requirement may be solved by something like this in your MAP statement:
    colmap (usedefaults,
    my_blob = @STRCAT (col02, ",", col03, ",", col04)
    Since this is not 1:1 you'll be using a sourcedefs file, which is nice because it will do the datatype conversion for you under the covers (also a nice trick when migrating long raws to blobs). So col02 can be varchar2, col03 a number, and col04 a clob and they'll convert in real-time.
    Mapping two tables to one is simple enough with two MAP statements, the harder challenge is joining operations from separate transactions because OGG is operation based and doesn't work on aggregates. It's possible you could end up using a combination of built in parameters and funcations with SQLEXEC and SQL/PL/SQL for more complicated scenarios, all depending on the design of the target table. But you have several scenarios to address.
    For example, is the target table really a history table or are you actually going to delete from it? If just the child is deleted but you don't want to delete the whole row yet, you may want to use NOCOMPRESSDELETES & UPDATEDELETES and COLMAP a new flag column to denote it was deleted. It's likely that the insert on the child may really mean an update to the target (see UPDATEINSERTS).
    If you need to update the LOB by appending or prepending new data then that's going to require some custom work, staging tables and a looping script, or a user exit.
    Some parameters you may want to become familiar with if not already:
    COLS | COLSEXCEPT
    COLMAP
    OVERRIDEDUPS
    INSERTDELETES
    INSERTMISSINGUPDATES
    INSERTUPDATES
    GETDELETES | IGNOREDELETES
    GETINSERTS | IGNOREINSERTS
    GETUPDATES | IGNOREUPDATES
    Good luck,
