Variable wizard creation question?

Hi experts,
I created a variable using wizard. In my variable their is a option called 'Can be changed during navigation' what it mean? and what is it used for?
Thanks in advance.
Sharat.

Hi Sharat,
The Changeable with Query Navigation function allows you to override the variables entry by selecting the dynamic filter.
When using a dynamically changeable variable, that is, a variable with the activated function Changeable with Query Navigation in a query in connection with a free characteristic, you can override the variable entry with the dynamic filter. In other words, you can also access values that are not found in the value area of the variable entry. The values entered for the variables are only used to parameterize the dynamic filter for the start list.
This function is only available for characteristic value variables in the free characteristics. When using such a variable in the filter, it behaves like a “normal” variable that cannot be changed.
Note the following when using the Changeable with Query Navigation function:
·        A variable can only be changed in the query definition when it is only used in a drilldown characteristic and when there are no other restrictions to this characteristic aside from these variables.
·        No additional characteristic is allowed to be compounded with a variable to the affected characteristic.
·        For hierarchy node variables, the hierarchy must match the presentation hierarchy that has been set up.
·        The characteristic value is not allowed to be moved, for example offset –1. In addition, the variable is no longer changeable with the query navigation.

rudra.

  • Adding variables to match question slides

    Hi All,
I am using Captivate 7 and need your help/idea/expertise on this. I am trying the following:
Adding a drag and drop slide wherein I should be able to drop the source to any target.
If the drop happens on the correct option (this is the challenge, how can I define the correct answer!), a message should flash saying "You are right"
If even a single drop goes wrong, then I the right answers should flash, (this I can create a new slide though)
But to set such conditions what should I exactly do? Please help.
    Thanks,
    Roja

The title of your question is bit confusing. Why should you have to add variables to match question slides?
The content of your question is totally different: each D&D slide can act as a question slide. It doesn't really have all the features of a question slide but most of them: Reporting, Score (only black/white, not partial score/penalty), Attempts, Actions On Success/Failure. When it is configured as a question its score will be reset when the user 'Retakes' a quiz with multiple attempts on quiz level etc. Progress quiz indicator will not be included however. And defining the correct answers is a breeze with the wizard or with the button Correct Answers.
The best part about D&D are IMO the 'Object actions': you can specify an advanced action for each drag&drop act and that is what you need. Do not use a simple action, because it will release the play head. That action can show a feedback text/object that was previously hidden, it can apply an effect to an object like flashing, etc. This blog post was written for CP8, but can help maybe:

  • JDeveloper Webservice Creation Question

While Creating webservices through JDev 11g from WSDL, we are presented with two option :-
    1) Java EE 1.5, with support for JAX-WS annotations
    2) Java EE 1.5, with support for JAX-WS RI
Could you please let me know which one is the most efficient option.
I see that in the second option the webservices are configured thru another file(sun-jaxws.xml) and all the requests are directed or handled by a common servlet whereas in the first option we usually configure the endpoint implementation directly in web.xml.
Another question that i have related to webservices creation - Does webservices wizard internally call wsimport to generate classes from WSDL. When i use wsimport to generate classes using WSDL and specify a jaxb global binding file to convert datatypes, this works correctly but using JDeveloper doesn't creates the Adapter classes to convert the datatypes.
Answers to the above would be helpful in reaching a decision on which approach to follow. Thanks.

  • Menu Bar creation question

I have designed a navigation menu in Photoshop (menu.psd), not much really, that I will be porting over to Fireworks for the creation of the Fireworks html.  As part of the PSD creation process I am adding a spot to include a drop down list.  This list will contain by year the volumes of the publication I have in collection.
Should I go ahead and set aside the drop down list portion until I port everything over to Dreamweaver?  Or should I try to create the drop down in Fireworks?  I can only suspect that I will need to create the drop down in Dreamweaver within a DIV and then relatively place it where I need it.  To make matters worse I have no experice in creating forms or drop downs.
    Respectfullly.

    Lorraine,
See, with that auburn hair everything is possible.
I will check out the suggested CSS tutorials this weekend as I believe that is the way I will have to go.  Use css as the basis for the holder of the images and then use divs to place them where I need them on the page.
As for Fireworks not being an HTML authoring tool I am slowly, real slowly, starting to come to the same conclusion.  It is trying to be a one-stop shopping experience and failing miserably.  The tools in it can not come close to reproducing a Photoshop image.  I've spent the last several hours creating within FW a similar looking menu.png totally from scratch.  It just cannot come up with the nuances or subtleties that are inherent in Photoshop.  This is more because you cannot select the blending modes within FW's Photoshop Live Filters.
Neither can it create an html page.  I used to with Photoshop, ImageReady and GoLive do similar things all the time.  For a simple roll over as in my previous exercise, the infobutton.html routine, it works well.  But give it a more complicated exercise, my menu.html routine, and it comes to a loud, screeching halt.  It could at least give me the pleasure of telling me it can't do it.  Instead it goes blissfully on like it can.  Frustrating!
A Photoshop to Dreamweaver workflow with the inclusion of css will be my approach.  Create my base menu.psd in Photoshop and save it as a menu.png for inclusion in DW.  Set it up as a background-image using a css placeholder.  Then in Photoshop create my over and down buttons and save each as a png.  In Dreamweaver use these over and down buttons to do what I need done using divs.  I think this will create less frustration on my part.  More work but at least I will get my results.  Bloated code though!
Unless it is still proper to use frames.  With frames I could create one to contain a menu.html and then just change it as needed with variables.  At least I think that will work.  If not then I will just continue coding as I am doing and place my menu.html code in each page.  The nicety of doing it that way is that once the images are loaded into the users memory they in essence will not needed to be reloaded.  I really liked using frames in GoLive.  I could reference everything using css but compartmentalize the design process.  But such a workflow is frowned upon for up to date html coding.
As for your idea for breaking the material down into decades I don't want to go that routine.  Even if I went with a pure css menu design as suggested by Tedd's work you would still want to utilize a single drop down containing the various years.  Having sub-menus for each decade would be cumbersome to the user.  That would also preclude have my server directory structure broken down into decades with sub directories for each year.  The directory and file structure could get hairy.  I already have enough managing five computers, two networked hard drives, and several thousand directories of my digital archives.
And part of the reason I don't want to go that route is my limitations.  Not being a wizard at coding I would spend an inordinate number of hours learning a whole new language.  My strong points are my digital archive creation abilities, my historical knowledge of the group, enough html creation knowledge to be dangerous, a historical researcher of some skill and my willingness to do the work.  This rules out the Server Side Include routines—watch my backside as I run away screaming.
So I think what I shall do is work the Photoshop to Dreamweaver routine.  Create a menu.html template and copy and paste it into each document as needed.  I would only need to change the references for the infobutton_down.png and the page navigation buttons.  Professionals would frown on this, wanting to do it with neat, cool code, but I need to remain within my limits.
Thank you for your suggestions, they really are from a professional with more knowledge than I.
    Respectfully.

  • Variable:Wizard General information

    Hi,
I am creating variables for authorization purpose:During variables creation in Wizard General information we will get variable --->1.userentry/defaul value.
    2Replacement path.
    3.customer exit.
    4.SAP Exit.
    5.Authorization.
Can any one explain the significant of these ponts.
The fifth point is it related to the authorization?
    Cheers,
    Pradeep.

    Hallo
    Shortly
    2. You get the value for your variable from another query
    3. in transaction CMOD, you define the code to valorize your variable (you have step1-step2 and step3) -
Do you have a mail. I can forward an How to (dox)
    4. Standard SAP exit to valorize your variable (for example last working day - curren month)
    5. based on your authorization profile, the variable is filled automatically - for example you have 10 Sales Organization and the user is only authorized to one value. if you have an authorization Variable on Sales Organization, then automatically is filled by the system with the authorized value

  • BOM:  Variable-size item  Question

    Hi,
As you all know, we can set the item category as <b>R: Variable-size</b> item in BOM when creating or editing BOM via Tcode CS01, CS02,
My question is, when we need to use Variable-size item, what's its main fuctions? could you please give me an example?
    Thanks and best regards.

This item category is used for components that are cut to size. If you assign a material with this item category to an activity , you must also enter data for the item. The system then calculates the necessary variable-size item quantity. Otherwise processing is as for item category L.
Example: Variable-Size Item Data for a Sheet of Metal
    Size             dimension          Entry      Size unit
    1                 Lenght             200         MM
    2                  Width             300          MM
If you do not enter a formula, the system calculates the quantity for the variable-size item according to the standard formula:
    Size 1 * Size 2
The result has the dimension area:
    200 MM * 300 MM = 60,000 MM2 (square millimeters)
The variable-size item unit must have the dimension area (MM2, CM2, or M2) or you must maintain conversion factors in the material master record.
In the customizing of Bill of materials you must maintain the formula key for variable size item category for R.
The variable-size item quantity is used for calculating raw material requirements:
    Raw material requirement =
Number of variable-size items * Variable-size item quantity * Required quantity
    Base quantity

  • WD Java iView Creation Question/Issue - CE 7.1 EHP 1 Trial

    Hi all,
Im posting this question here seeing as that the issue has arrised on an installation of the AS JAVA and EP shipped with CE 7.1 EHP1 Trial.
When attempting to create an iView for a deployed custom WD Java app on the trial Portal I am taken straight to the iView template selection without being given the options for iView creation( ie. create from template, portal component or WD Java app). Is this by design ( WD Java iView creation has changed from previous Portal versions or is limited in Trial installation), is this an issue with the components shipped with the Trial or an issue on my installation only?
Currently my only solution for deploying WD java content is to copy the actual application and paste it as Portal content which then creates a WD Proxy page with a single WD Proxy iView (that of the copy pasted WD app). This is fine for single app scenarios but becomes an issue with multiple apps on one page and drag and relate scenarios.
    Kind regards,
    Willem.

  • Variable and Formulas Question

    Hi folks,
I use BOXI r2 sp 4 and I have a general question re: variables and formulas in Webi reports.
Billing Year Month and Cost of Service are standard time dimensions and measures that I use in my Webi reports and they were created at the semantic level.
Normally, I create cross tab reports with the Billing Year Month along the horizontal axis and the Cost of Service in the Body (Business Unit or Department would be placed along the vertical axis).
For some reason, when I use formulas/variables to modify the standard time dimensions (like changing Billing Year Month to Year), the values for the Cost of Service are returned incorrectly.
    Example.
Semantic object: Billing Year Month = (yyyy-MM) returns correct values
Report variable: Substr([Billing Year Month;1;4) returns incorrect values
Can anyone please explain this problem?
    Thanks,
    Wannetta

    Hi John,
The attribute of the Billing Year Month at the semantic level is a character type.
After reading your response, I realize that I may not have been clear regarding the problem.
The following formula does return the correct value in and of itself.
    >=Substr([Billing Year Month];1;4
If I create a variable and then drag it onto my crosstab, it returns the correct value ONLY within the header.
When I drag the cost of service measure onto the crosstab; the header values remain the same but values in the body either disappear or the change to reflect incorrect values.
I thought one of the prime features of Webi was the ability of the Report Developer to create variables/formulas and use them in the headers to manipulate the semantic "measures" in the body (read: output) at the report level.
Is this a matter of semantic design or does Webi not possess this capability?
Or, is the issue entirely different?
    Thanks!
    W.

    1 error
Why isn't widthXXX directly accessible from SketchFrame?
Thank you again in advance for any help.

Why isn't widthXXX directly accessible from
SketchFrame?Because it's a class variable of another class. You have to refer to it as Sketcher.widthXXX.

  • Some subclassing array creation question

    i)     Declare a class Customer which contains name, id , payment, and status. [5m]
ii)     Create a class called Shop that contains a one dimensional arrays reference of type Customer Mall which      stores up to 45 Customer information.     [2m]
Above are the question. I just want to know should the Shop class extends the Customer class or is it unecessary.

I dont think you should use the extends keyword.
Ask yourself which of these statements makes sense:
A Customer is-a Shop.. (I dont think so)
A Shop is-a Customer.. (That doesn't make sense either)
A Shop has-a Customer... (now that sounds right)
Given that I would have a instance variable of type Customer[] within the Shop class.
    Use composition instead of inheritance.
    I hope this helps..

  • Am I able to create a conditional action or user variable on a question slide?

    Hey everyone
We have modules where there is content slides mixed with question slides. We want the learner to answer the questions and not skip them so originally we removed the next button and just used the continue function of the question. We have lots of feedback from people that they are getting stuck as they want to go back and review the content but once they hit the question slide again (which they may have already answered) they cant get past it as they have already answered it and there is no 'next' button so they have to close and reopen the module.
Is there a way to make it so they have to answer the question but once they have answered it the 'next' button appears so they can then keep going back and forwards within the module. I was wondering if it was possible using a conditional action or user variable?
    Thanks
    Sarah

Go to Quiz > Settings > Required drop down and set to Answer All - The user must answer every question.

  • Using wildcards in URL variables (very simple question, i know)

    Hi all!
Pulling my hair out over this... How do I use wildcards in URL variables? I have this code in compositionReady (which is working):
    var myurl = "http://www.mydomain.com/sub1/sub2/pagename";
    var currenturl = window.location
    if(myurl == currenturl) {
        sym.getSymbol("symbolname").play();
It simply makes the symbol "symbolname" play when the current URL matches the variable 'myurl'. However, I want the symbol to play on ALL subpages to http://www.mydomain.com/sub1/sub2/ and therefore it seems logical to put in a wildcard like:
http://www.mydomain.com/sub1/sub2/* or something similar, but I just can't seem to make it work??
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Best,
    Thomas

    What about this ?
    var mysubdomain = "http://www.mydomain.com/sub1/sub2/";
    var currenturl = window.location.toString();
    if(currenturl.indexOf(mysubdomain) === 0) {
        sym.getSymbol("symbolname").play();

  • Query Variable Selection Creation

    HI
we have a req to select 600 material numbers in a query through the variable screen, but the users cant select 600 variables every time, RIGHT.... so we are trying to brianstorm on a work around, if you have worked on an instance like this please help us out. the selection for the query has to be done from the variable screen.
    thanks

    Dear Darshak,
Call the Data (material Values ) through another Query by replacement Path.
    Step No 1
Create a Query and store all you materials in that query.
    Step No 2
And call this query in the MAIN Query by creating an input variable for material and in the properties
    In general TAB
    1)Processing by replacement path
    2)Ref Char -Material
    In replacement path Tab
1)give the Query Name which stores the material
By this yuo can get all the Values for the material in your Query as input.
Get back if u have any issues !!!!!!!

  • Query Variable Transport Issue/Question

Hi, i am transporting some queries into my BWQ Quality System and ended up with an error:
Element 1Q070GEFFJXNCR690H6TJ4M13 is missing in version M
The queries work fine in BWD Development.
I checked the following in table RSZGLOBV
BWD Development System and there is Version A, B, and D
BWQ Development System and there is only Version D
BWP Development System and there is only Version D
So the variable already exists in all of the system and the VARUNID is the same in all of the systems as well..
Any ideas why I would have this issue and will there be a problem with queries already using this variable in BWQ and BWP should I transport it again to resolve this issue.  (If this would resolve the issue)
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I faced the same issue many times and did the same what Andrey suggested.
In your case the query element does not exist in QA and PRD in Active Version 'A', which means none of your queries in those environments are using the variable already.
We get the description of various statuses when we do an F1 in the field version after running table RSZGLOBV. I could not understand much of the explanation given. It says when an object is saved, the version would be M and when it is activated it would be A. We save queries/elements....but activation??

  • Dynamic Component Creation Question

I have a process that looks up fields names from a database. I then loop through and create HtmlInputText components dynamically. The question I have is how do I create a value binding to these components? I have been trying to think of a way to create a separate class that can be applied to each field name I retrieve from the database. But I just can't think of a good solution for this. I assume people have had to do this before.
    Thanks

Let it bind to a List<String> or Map<String, String>. To get/set elements in a List you can use the brace notation, e.g. #{list[0]} for the 1st element (list.get(0)). For map you can use the key name as propertyname, e.g. #{map.key} for the entry associated with key "key" (map.get("key")).
