WD Java iView Creation Question/Issue - CE 7.1 EHP 1 Trial

Hi all,
Im posting this question here seeing as that the issue has arrised on an installation of the AS JAVA and EP shipped with CE 7.1 EHP1 Trial.
When attempting to create an iView for a deployed custom WD Java app on the trial Portal I am taken straight to the iView template selection without being given the options for iView creation( ie. create from template, portal component or WD Java app). Is this by design ( WD Java iView creation has changed from previous Portal versions or is limited in Trial installation), is this an issue with the components shipped with the Trial or an issue on my installation only?
Currently my only solution for deploying WD java content is to copy the actual application and paste it as Portal content which then creates a WD Proxy page with a single WD Proxy iView (that of the copy pasted WD app). This is fine for single app scenarios but becomes an issue with multiple apps on one page and drag and relate scenarios.
Kind regards,
Willem.

Hi Williem
Please check the SAP CE 7.1 EHP1 documentation for more information.

  • MSS - where find code for java iviews and how to copy and extract??????

    Hi All,
    Not sure if this is the correct forum, so if i'm in the wrong place apologies and if possible could  you point me in the right direction.  If I am in the right place, here it goes......
    we're using R/3 4.7, MSS 6.1.20.  We're just beginning to implement MSS.  I'm wondering if anyone could give me a couple of examples of which MSS options are based on java iviews, where is the code for these java ivews stored on the system and do i have to do anything special to extract this code.
    the reason i want the code is that i want to copy it and see how difficult it is to make changes to the code in netweaver developer studio.
    Also, as i'm new to all this, if anyone knows of a good source of info for java iview creation/manipulation, please let me know.
    Kind regards,
    Liz.

    Hi,
    This is how we access java code for ESS applications. I hope it is the same for MSS as well.
    Open your NWDS -> Window -> Preferences -> Java Development Infrastructure -> Development Configurations.
    Provide the Landscape directory server in URL field. something like http://<server name>:<port number>. Ping and  confirm the connections. Save the settings.
    Now select Window -> Open Perspective -> Development Configurations.
    Right click on the Offline and select Import configurations. Select remote option and import the respective items from the server. Create a project for the required inactive DC and you will be able to edit the code in webdynpro perspective.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Java iview htmlb & jco question

    hello all,
    I am writing an Java iView to pull some data from an
    R/3 table & displaying that as a LINE chart.
    I've already got the portion of getting data from R/3
    by creating a shim function that returns the table.
    Now i want to display that using htmlb.Chart
    I can seet the JCO.Table as my JCOChartModel easily enough
    however the Table returns to me multiple rows
    (data that will be used elsewhere) but there are only
    two rows i want to use as the source for the Chart.
    Is there any way to limit the Chart to those two rows
    or do i need to (in my opinion wastefully) create
    a Vector and duplicate the data from those two
    rows to use for Chart?

    Hi Srivatsan,
    I need to write a java iview to pull some data from an R3 table.  But I dont know how :S
    I did something with jco in EP 5, but now with EP 6 I'm confused with the term JCA.
    What do you do to connect to R3 ?  Could you share your code ?
    Thanks and regards from Mexico !!!

  • Java-iViews-Errors in BP for CRM

    After importing BP 6.0 for CRM 4.0, the Java iViews (e.g. Today's Activities or My Tasks) don't work. Instead we get an error like this:
    Portal Runtime Error
    An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    com/sap/pct/crm/generics/context/CRMContextException.
    Exception id: 08:52_11/10/04_0004
    See the details for the exception ID in the log file
    The WAS and ITS iViews of the BP are running fine and the import log of the BP says the iViews are correctly installed.
    Is there something wrong with the JCO?

    Hi Marko,
    I don't know the BP, but this exception clearly states that within the method <i>getPage</i> within the class <i>ListPortalComponent</i> a <i>CRMContextException</i> is referenced (probably should be thrown), which in fact does not exist within the classpath.
    <i>If</i> I would have the BP at hand (and you have, that's your advantage), just check if the class exists. If not, you could try a workaround and check the cause for the exception, if you achieve that it should not be thrown, the JVM won't complain...
    Is the BP delivered within one or within several PAR's? If it takes several PAR's, maybe <i>CRMContextException</i> is in one, <i>ListPortalComponent</i> in another PAR and no SharingReference could be set (but I wouldn't call this very probable for the common package <i>com/sap/pct/crm/generics</i>; nevertheless, it's an idea).
    Just try to analyze around this...
    Hope it helps

    Hi,
    We have implemented Business Package for Products 50.3.1 in EP 6.0.
    I want to ewmove some buttons like create document and change materials in the Java iView provided in the Business Package.
    I have no idea how this customization could be done?
    Is there any configuration setting in the R/3 needs to be done?
    Please share the documents if there is any for the customization.

  • Java iview timeout error

    I have an java iview with many input fields. It needs more than 20 minutes to be filled up. But if it crosses 15 or 20 minutes then i get a timeout error saying "Error in service call of Resource". Do you have any suggestion as to how can I increase this session timeout period?

    Yes, I am using session scope and it seems this session expires after 20 minutes. I will trying changeing web.xml and will let you know further.
    One more suggestion from Detlev was to use HTTP event listeners i.e. implement a listener that reacts on unbinding the beans(s) from the sessions (that happens when the session gets invalidated) and then persist it "somewhere else" and retrieve it in the case I am working on. (i.e. no bean to be found in session, but also no initial call of my component). Has anybody worked on similar issue? Can somebody share part of his code?

  • Java Object Creation

    A general question about how can Java object creation with an average amount of data retrieval is considered as a reasonable.
    For example if I am clicking on a link in a web application...to paint that page, I think, about 4-5 java object with an average data retrieval of 20 rows wud be considered as appropriate. Any other thoghts or any other parameters to take into consideration?

    If you are concerned about object creation speed, you probably shouldn't. Even my laptop PC can create and garbage collect some 12 million objects per second (10,000,000 objects takes about 800 milliseconds). Test program below; remember to run with "java -server" to get the faster optimizing compiler. For laughs, write an equivalent C++ program that does new&delete in a similar loop.
    public class CreateObject
        public static void main(String args[])
         throws Exception
         for (int m = 0; m < 5; m++)
             doit();
        static void doit()
         long start = System.currentTimeMillis();
         for (int n = 0; n < 10 * 1000 * 1000; n++) {
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
             new CreateObject();
         long end = System.currentTimeMillis();
         System.out.println((end - start) + " ms");
    }

  • Portal Java Iview Runtime - Urgentt

    dear All Portalers,
    we got high issues when SAP ESS/MSS Implementatin for our customer, we got issue about HTTP Session maximum and cause error message "Java Iview Runtime .."
    first, this is our landscape
    1. We Have SAP EP 7 installed with UME integrated with LDAP (Ms. Exchange 2003)
    2. We use SAP ECC 6 SR3 as our Backend System
    3. We use ALL SSL Commnunication between Portal and Backend
    4. We use SPNEGO for User Authentication Mechanism, so User Join Domain, directly open portal when run Internet Explorer between input User and password
    5. Each Uses LDAP mapped use User Mapping
    But, after we launch to customer, we got big problem about Session
    Here, reproduce the error
    1. User Join to Network Domain ( e.g. CORP.CO.ID)
    2. After User/laptop join Network Domain and open browser https://portal.CORP.co.id/
    3. Directly, User logon automatically at Home of SAP ESS/MSS
    4. User finish transaction at SAP Portal and want to Out from Portal by Log off, but after Log off automatically back to entry ( is is Normal ??? )
    5. User very annoying, so user close browser
    6. After 10 seconds, user Open Browser again, open browser https://portal.CORP.co.id/ but user got this message
        "Java Iview Runtime...bla bla bla"
    can any help us , i already set OSS Message Very High ... but didn't solve this problem
    thanks
    regards
    ghochi

    Hi Ghochi,
    First if you want user not to directly log in to Portal then disable the automatic logon setting frominternet explorer.
    Tools > Internet Options > Advance > Enable internet Authentication (uncheck checkbox) restart browser. Next time user will not directly login to Portal. But user needs to enter user ID/PWD every time.
    Coming to your problem for http sessions,
    1. On click of log off button, sessions are not getting released. Please check what is the value once user clicks on log off button. This you can check in Visual admin.
    2. Also, go to SM04 in ECC and check how many http sessions you are having.
    Thanks.

  • Java iView Runtime in WAD iview

    Hi experts,
    We are experiencing strange issue with one of WAD query iView (BI) in portal.
    Earlier when we launched this iview through portal, it was giving the error very rarely.
    But the repetation is increased and facing the issue again & again.
    The issue is as follows:
    When we try to execute an iView from portal the loading circle rotates for 50 seconds and throws message Java iView Runtime, no other information or any Exception ID.
    When we run the same BI query at back end it gives result in 80 seconds.
    The data pulled from back end is huge, but portal throws error.
    Can anybody help on this? There is no specific error text or ID shown to see logs.
    regards
    Kedar Kulkarni

    Hi Praveen,
    Thanks for your reply.
    Unfortunately I have not assigned iView to any page. Its directly assigned to Role.
    Along with this i am getting one error in SAP MMC console as well.
    The parameter inside services in MMC-> Aggregate Data -> InvalidSessionsCount is growing very fast and  the service seems to be in warning state (Yellow color). Can you brief me on the memory short falls if any, in this issue.
    Also in UsedMemoryRate i am getting error as 81% > 80% last reported value above threshold.
    How can i resolve this issue.
    regards
    Kedar Kulkarni
