VAT amount to be posted in GBP currency during MIRO UK legal requirement

hello,
Our UK Company code has EUR as Currency key. This means that for this company code, the local currency is EUR. If it receives and pays invoices in EUR it has also to post the VAT amount in GBP shown by the vendor on his invoice according to UK VAT regulation. We need to be able to set the rate per invoice and not using the automatic one in the table for a fixed rate per month.
Indeed, the VAT guide (VAT700) makes it clear that the suppliers must show the sterling equivalents of the Net and VAT amounts on the VAT invoice. This means that the VAT amount posted will not depend on the exchange rate set up in the system.
In few words, we need the possibility for a EUR company code which receives an invoice in EUR to be able to post the VAT in GBP according to UK legal requirements.
The remaining problem now is to have the exchange rate field open for manual change!
i did go through SAP notes 776105 and 739958
can anyone help on this
regards
venkatprasad

Hi,
I think you can resolve this by working out the exchange rate used i.e. the GBP VAT amount vs the EUR amount and store that in a document field somewhere i.e. REF KEY3 or similar. Then you would need to grab the exchange rate from the document line and use that in the VAT report (Thinking user exit). The report would then reflect the GBP VAT amount as per invoice. This is not a clean solution but as you probably know the issue is due to the EUR currency being linked to a UK company code. I think in a GBP company code, the EUR invoice would open up a field for the tax exchange rate and the issue would be solved.
Anyway, there is probably a better way of doing the above...I just have not found one yet :-).
Thanks
Kris

  • Re: VAT amount not to be inventorised

    Dear Team
Here, I am configuring Import Pricing Procedure for Bangaladesh. The Price structure as follows.
    Basic Price A     -
    > 100 USD
    Other Charges B -
    > 1 USD
    So Assesable Value ( A+B) C -
    > 101 USD
    Import Duty 40 %          D    -
    >  40.40 USD
    Amount for  Calculation
    of VAT          -
    > ( C+D) E  -
    > 141.40 USD
    VAT   10 %  F -
    >   14.14 USD
    Total PO value -
    >  (E+F) G -
    > 155.54 USD.
Here the requirement is, During GRN, only the value 141.40 USD   has to debited  the material cost. The VAT amount 14.14 USD should not be added to the material cost. This VAT amount has to be separately Debited to one VAT paid account( With automatic Posting only GL Code) during  MIRO.
Expecting some lights from the TEAM.
    With Regards
    Srinivasan Baskaran

In order to the vat amount to flow as separate line item to vat payable account u have to do the following
Create a separate condition type with non-decticble vat  description
create a PROCESSING key using OBCN
IN THAT SELECT  posting indicator 3 and tick mark the NON-DEDUCTIBLE.
In ob40 FI configuring : automatic posting  assign the vat payable g/laccount against the processing key created in the above step
Now in the tax pricicng procedure include the condtion type and assign the processing key in the Actkey column
create the tax code and maintain the condition record

  • Table to read vat amount of MIRO at item level

    Hi,
I making a purchase register in which all amount rdetais are required at item level  but from tables , RKPF, RSEG, I am getting the base amount at item level,  but in which table I can get the vat amount which is posted for individual item in table BSET  i can see the all tax amounts which are posted but how to link this with item number  there is no ref. field for this.
is there any table for MIRO entry with item wise tax details.
    regards,
    zafar

You can simulate VAT calculation via RSEG base amount WRBTR and VAT code MWSKZ ([CALCULATE_TAX_ITEM|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/advancedsearch?query=calculate_tax_item]). But beware of rounding errors in the calculation.
Remember that the calculation of VAT is the responsibility of the supplier.

  • Exchange rate difference posted to Group currency only during MIRO

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We're activating parallel currency in ML and USD is the group currency. GR/IR clearing acct is managed in local currency only.

    Here are my questions:
1.) Where would I check the setting for the GL account used in the automatic line entry posted in group currency during IR? (3rd line item above)
2.) Can this be changed? Say instead of the original acct assignment, the management want to change it to FX gain/loss account

I have checked several notes (331910,etc) but I can't seem to find the answers to my questions.
    Appreciate your help. Thanks!

Just an update to this issue- I just found out that the system is pointing to KBS when posting the
exchange rate difference in group currency upon IR, hence, PO account
assignment is adopted. I'd like to rephrase my question- is there any
way we can change SAP behaviour such that it will point to other
transaction key (e.g. KDG) other than KDM? Bottomline is we want it
charged to other GL account not the one in the PO.
Thanks so much for your assistance.

  • Foreign currency, VAT amount,Variables, PLD

    Hi guys,
    We have SBO2007 version 46.
The system currency is GBP, and we have some purchase orders in EUR, where I am trying to show VAT amount in the right currency in the printouts.
There are two layouts on the system
    1) Purchase Order (System)  -- There isn't a VAT field above document total.
    2) Purchase Order (DIN) (System) -- The VAT amount fields use system Variable 229 and 230, which I cannot copy/use in my own layout.
Error message: printing error: invalid variable number 229 etc.
I also found that variable 116 is for VAT in system currency-GBP and variable 112 is for VAT in BP currency-EUR.
Please anyone can help on the solution that the right VAT amount is displayed in right currency in one PLD.
    Thank you very much
    Regards,
    Yang

Thank you very much, Gorden and Premraj.
    I will try the ideas.
In the meantime, I wonder that there must be a common practice to have VAT in foreign currency (and document total) shown on marketing documents.
How do you guys do it?  It would be a pain to revise all types of documents. Is there some setting to change so that the system can deal with it automatically, or a variable becomes available?
NB I have set "all currencies" in the BP master.
    Thank you

  • Invoice Posted in Local Currency - Payment in USD

How do I handle this situation -
Invoice is posted in Local Currency. (Co Code Currency)
    Payments are done in USD
    Please assist.

    Hello All,
In our project we are facing to a big issue with different currencies in the PO conditions.
An example of the situation in the PO is the following (but should be different currencies, not always the same currency for the same condition):
        - the condition for price is in GBP
        - the condition for transport is in USD
        - the condition for "custom" is in EUR
For each condition, we have a different vendor. We work in France, so we have also the PAM activated.
    Our requirement:
        - we need to keep the original amount in currency for the GR (so in this case to have 3 postings due to the currency in the header of FI posting) because due to the big amount of currencies in the company, we need to follow exchange rate at the end of the month
        - we need to enter the invoice in the currency of the condition
Today when we have a GR, the system, even if we have 3 vendors, create only one global posting by translating the different condition to the PO currency (here in GBP). In fact, when the PO is created, the condition is immediatly converted.
Does anyone have a solution to do that ? Apparently in IS-OIL solution, this kind of posting is possible. But no information is available in OSS about this point.
    Thanks & regards

  • Force VAT Amount in A/PInvoices and CreditNotes

    Hi all,
doesn anybody know how to force VAT amount
in Service A/P Invoices and Service Credit Notes?
DI Document Objects oPurchaseInvoices and oPurchaseCreditNotes
    expose only VAT Group Property in which you set the VAT code;
from this code DI retrives VAT % and perform the calculation of VAT Amount.
In B1 you can modify VAT amount and make it different from the calculated value.
I tried indicating Price, Line Total and PriceAfterVAT
    but I obtain strange numbers:
    for example indicating
          Line.Price = 2000
          Line.LineTotal = 2000
          Line.VatGroup = "A2" (20%)
          Line.PriceAfterVAT = 2400.01
(hoping that DI "understand" that VAT Amount is 400.01)
I obtain a line with this values:
         Price = 2000.01
         Total = 2000.01
         VAT Amount = 400.002000
         Price Including VAT = 2400.01
Any idea? is the same problem of post "wrong total in credit note" by Juri Grusdew

    thanks for your attention,

  • Report S_ALR_87012357 not showing VAT amount for directly entered FI items

    Hello experts,
In our system, the VAT and sales amount are calculated in another system (not ERP)
The VAT amount together with sales amount is transferred to FI via the standard iDoc ACC_DOCUMENT03
The problem that occur is that the report S_ALR_87012357 cannot calculate/display the VAT for such FI documents.
When posting FI document in FI, this is not a problem, then VAT is displayed correctly in S_ALR_87012357
How can we get around this problem?
Is is even possible with iDocs?

I'm not sure this is still an opne issue:
    You need to to use:
    This works with deductible VAT
    first:
    E1BPACTX09 to create VAT item
fields for EU on USA diferent fields are used
    ITEMNO_ACC
    GL_ACCOUNT
    TAX_CODE
    TAX_RATE
    and
    E1BPACCR09 for values
    ITEMNO_ACC
    CURRENCY
    AMT_DOCCUR
    AMT_BASE

    Hi
              1)     We are maintaining standard price as price index
              2)     Pricing procedure as TAXINJ
              3)     While GR the CST and VAT  amount (non deductible) is debiting in the purchase price
variance, and credit in the GR/IR
              4)     Which has to debit in the raw material account
              5)     Is there is any notes for the this
              6)     or any other solution plz send your reply

    HI..
it is not done in OBq3
See in OBQ3..you define Pricing procedure.against pricing Procudure you will give the account Key against the condition type in the Pricing Procedure.
For this Account Key ..you Define it as Detuctable or not in OBCN.
so it determines whether to add to raw material account or not..
but see in early post which is also valid even if you have define the sdame in OBCN.
    Hope so it helps

  • Posting in local currency on foreign currency account/correctionOfValuation

    Hi everybody!
I have a problem, and I hope someone will help me.
Is there any way to make posting in local currency on account with foreign currency as the account currency?
The reason why I'm asking this, is that I have to make corrections to currency valuation.
This is the situation: they made foreign currency valuation for last period of previous fiscal year. Instead without reversing, they made it with reversing, on the first day of 1. period in the new fiscal year. After this, they made reversing (fb08) of reversing document created by valuation program. Of course, after all, they have wrong valuation for every next period.
I have to make corrections in 3. period (1. and 2. are closed).
This is my idea: I want to make valuation for date 31.12.2006. with postings in 3. period, without reversing, and than, to make posting of valuated amount, but with opposite sign mark (if the valuation was 1000EUR debit, I'll make 1000EUR credit). I want to have effect of reversing, without running fb08.
Balance for the 3. period will be 0, but every next valuation will be ok (it will valuate difference for 31.12.2006., not difference for document posting date).
If anybody have idea how to make posting on foreign currency account, or the other way to make correction of valuation, I'll be grateful.
    Best regards

Create one FI documents with multiple line items as per the following example. In this case you need to enter amount in both local currency and in document currency fields-
If you want to post credit of USD 5.00
Line 1: Local currency  Dr. USD 5; Doc currency =x
Line 2: Local currency  Cr. USD 10; Doc currency =x
Net impact in local currency is Cr USD 5 and doc currency is nil.

  • VAT amount included in Purchase order

    Hi experts:
We need to create a Purchase Order where it should contain the vat amount, but in the goods receipts the mount of the Purchase order should decreased by the VAT percentage.
    Example:
    -VAT porcentage here is 13%
Purchase order shpuld be created by: 1000
Good receipt(in the accounts should be for): 870
    Invoice record: 1000
I hope you can help me!
    Thanks

First of all, whatever you want it doesn't make sense.
You may face lots of problem in future, when you will try to match GR amount against Invoice amount.
    Anyway, you can do it.
Set up the condition type for vat like as bellow screen shot.
Then assign the condition type to calculation schema as per your requirement.
For more details look into my blog Pricing procedure Steps and Details in SAP MM
Here you will get how you can use a condition type in calculation schema.
Then create a PO and enter 13% for your condition type. Then perform Goods receipt.
After the goods receipt posted, then go to PO (ME22N) and remove the condition types amount (13%).
    Then you can do MIRO.
Tests the scenario and revert back if any issue.

  • Mismatching of vat amount

    Hi Guru,
my client is asking mismatching of vat amount that is -
When generate annual VAT report containing assessable value along with tax values for a particular year which should match with purchases values declared in financial statements. The purchase values are arrived in financial statements as "closing stock of raw materials plus consumption of raw materials minus opening stock of raw materials" ;.  We are generating the VAT report  in T code S_ALR_87012385, which provides the purchase values for difference t ax codes. The values generated in this VAT report should match with the purchase values as per financial statements. Now it is not matching with report..
Please let me know what are the reason it happen.
    It urgent.
    Regards,
    Manas

    Hi,
VAT value is flowing from purchase order & VAT value depending the tax code available in the purchase order. You can check VAT value as % in FTXP t.code or FV13 with combination of tax code & VAT condition type.
As you are getting same vale of VAT now in MIRO(same vale of VAT should not come for all PO in MIRO), may be purchase orders are having same quantity. Now just cross check again & again by doing MIRO with other purchase orders without posting, just carry out simulate document, check accounting entries.

  • Transfer with clearing (F-51) w/o Vat amount.

    Hi,
I need to transfer with clearing (Tcode F-51) an open vendor item which has an amount of VAT (Gross amount 1210: vendor amount 1000, VAT amount 210).
The open item was posted with special G/L indicator (down payment), tax code, amount:1000 and vat amount: 210.
The problem is that I only need to transfer the vendor amount (1000) and not the amount of the vat.
When I see the line ítem by Tcode FBL1N I see correct the open item for the amount of 1000. Then, when I try to transfer the amount the system shows me 1210 in the line item.
    Any idea?
    Thanks
    Cecilia

    hi,
    Use T code - F-51
give posting 31 opposite vendor number (SGL Ind) enter give amount what ever you want to transfer and select Choose open items tab and select vendor code and select Spl gl indicator - Click on Process open item  -  select that particular line item - and go to residual tab given Tax amount then simulate
    check accounting entry and Post
    check in FBL1N both vendors
    Thanking you

  • Wrong VAT amount in MIRO (Excise duty inclusive case)

    Hi All,
I have created purchase order with excise duty as inclusive. I have captured the vendor excise invoice & posted  it. Upto this point all is working fine.
When i am  going to do MIRO ,the vat amount is also showing correct ( calculated on Base price+ ED).
But when i am changing the tax code ,the VAT is calculated on Base price only.
It is not considering the amount of Excise duty posted .
Besides excise duty inclusive case ,when we are changing the tax code in  MIRO where certain percentage for the conditions is maintained like (821+vat 5%) ,VAT amount is correct.Only problem is with the excise duty inclusive cae.
All the configuration & transaction data is properly maintained .
    Please guide ,
    Regards,
    SAP MM INDIA

Create a seperate tax code for dealer with ed + vat combination,
here maintain tax rates for excise condition types as zero.
Maintain that tax code in p.o.Do GR as suggested in sap note
See Note 1104456 - Use of MRP indicator for capturing excise duties from dealer for more information.
In MIRO,Enter base amount removing excise duty values, select tax code only in header.
Reply given by p.singh is also very important point to note regarding VAT condition type.

  • HOW TO CHANGE VAT AMOUNT IN LIV

    Hi
Can any one let me know how correct the input VAT if a vendor changes at the time of invoice, if GR is done .
    VAT value not percen

    Hi,
You can not change the VAT amount in PO. If you want to increase or decrease the VAT Amount during LIV then enter the VAT Receivable Account in "GL Account" Tab and debit or credit with proper amount as per the requirement.
To activate the "GL Account" tab, go to SPRO > MM > Logistics Invoice Verification > Incoming Invoice > Activate Direct Posting to G/L Accounts and Material Accounts
