Verifying the SAP Certificate

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how do we verify the SAP Certificate, whether it is genuine or fake???
I mean the certificate which we obtain after clearing the exam.
Please share with me.
Thanks

  • How to Verify genuineness of SAP certificate?

    Hi Guys,
How to verify the genuineness of the SAP certificate?
Please throw some light on this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Srinivas.

    Hello
I have no idea how you can do this and what are the options.
But I wonder (if any SAP guides read this) if it would be possible (or it already works this way?) to give a unique number to every guy, who gets the certificate, and then publish a webservice (with a fancy website), where one could post the number and check, if that is a genuine one. Would be cool for all:
    - the company could check the workforce
    - SAP will not get damaged by the liar, who say they got certified but were not
    - the people would see an extra reason to get certified
But that is only a naive idea...

Any idea what could be the solution?

    Hi,
    Please check SAP notes:

  • The certificate is not valid and cannot be used to verify the identity of this website

Question posted in Stack Overflow too: java - How to solve "The certificate is not valid and cannot be used to verify the identity of this website" error? - St…
The question is, How to solve "The certificate is not valid and cannot be used to verify the identity of this website" error?.
    Here are the details:
I have a signed applet that has been working fine, until I updated Java to 8u25 (1.8.0_25-b18). Now, the application shows an alert message "Do you want to continue? The connection to this website is untrusted". There is a note in this message too, "The certificate is not valid and cannot be used to verify the identity of this website".
The applet is loaded without problems. But when the user tries to use a specific function of that application, the warning message is displayed.
I've checked the java console when this happens, and this warning message is displayed right after these lines:
security: Obtain certificate collection in SSL Root CA certificate store
security: Invalid certificate from HTTPS server
network: Cache entry not found [url: https://sub.domain.net:9876, version: null]
The application is downloaded from a different domain, say "https://app.domain.net/ .....", so no jars are downloaded from "https://sub.domain.net:9876 ", but the applet connects to "https://sub.domain.net:9876 " to send/receive data.
The applet is signed correctly, and so far, it meets all the security requirements according to Java. This issue seems to happen when the application tries to connect internally with an HTTPS url like https://sub.domain.net:9876. That sites' SSL certificate is valid, issued by GoDaddy and has not expired.
Again, this started to happen after updating my JRE to 8u25. I've tested adding the offending URL to Java security exception list, with no success.
Here are a few screenshot of this problem:
This is the warning message displayed:

For what it's worth we discovered what the issue was.  When we installed the new certificates onto our servers we also discovered that you have to install the certificates of all intermediate servers listed in your certificate.  This mean that all URLs listed on your certificate, have to have the intermediate certificate for the certificate authority installed.  This also includes all the Alt Names of your domains, even if they do not use the applet.

  • Unable to verify the certificate - code will be treated as unsigned.

    Hello
I don't know if I asking this question in the right category, but I will try.
We have a web application using JInitiator and we got a message when we open the application.
    This message is:
    "Java Plug-in Security Warning:
Unable to verify the certificate - code will be treated as unsigned."
We didn't have this message before and in some case, it's always showing up at start up. When we click "OK", the application look like it open normally. I made some research on this, but I didn't find why this happen. I don't know if someone know about this ?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Is there any solution for this?
This happens to us too, but only on one machine. Difference between this machine and others is, that this machine has forms builder installed.
This message appears since we installed patch 8727236 - on AS and this machine where forms builder is.
    Any solution?

  • PPoint OWA there was a problem verifying the certificate

Hi, I installed Lync 2013 FE, edge and ARR. Recently, with your help, I finally made it work for web based meetings. People have A/V/Whiteboard/ but they are unable to use Share screens and PPoint.
I read that I need Office Web Application Server in order to make PPoint work so I followed online tutorial and installed it. As a certificate I at first used self signed but later as I added owa as SAN, I exported it from edge server and imported it in
OWA Server. I am not sure if this is the way to do that.
Error for share screen is that it is due to the network issues,
Error for PPoint is "There was a problem verifying the certificate". Remote user use web browser in order to access meeting, upload the file without any problem, and it says Loading ..... , on the other side I have domain machine with lync client
that receives notification to accept meeting content, after which error appears.
    Any ideas?

Hi all and thanks for your reply.
I used this command to create farm (didn't define internal fqdn)
    New-OfficeWebAppsFarm -ExternalURL https://lynweb.domain.com -CertificateName "ExternalCert"
Everything went smoothly, I can access
https://owa.domain.local/hosting/discovery (but cert is shown as unsecured since url is not the same as in cert (Lyncweb.domain.com).
Because I have split DNS, in my DNS I created lyncweb for the domain.com CNAME entry and I can successfully open https://lyncweb.domain.com/hosting/discovery form LAN.
I found several mistakes in my config (at least I think so):
    1. In LyncFE I had under discoveryURL domain.local path, so this is why cert error was showing. It was able to access but because of the different URLs name that didn't match certificate name, I was getting an ssl error. - I changed it to lyncweb.domain.com/.....
    2. I didn't have external DNS name for lyncweb.domain.com. In fiddler I saw that it is trying to access to this URL and since it wasn't defined- therefor not able to access. - I created A host record.
    3. Firewall, since lyncweb was defined in ARR I needed to craete FW rule to let access OWA Server. - I added FW rule.
    Current situation is this:
-- When I access through meeting.domain.com/Lync Client and start PPoint, on the remote client (teleworker where I started PPoint) presentation pops up on teleworker, I can go through the slides, but inside the LAN (second participant) on Lync Client or
via meet.domain.com I am just getting "Loading ...." and nothing appears. (I tried disabling Firewall but didn't help - so it is not about firewall, especially since OWA and LyncCLient are in the same subnet)
-- On the other hand when teleworker starts presentation and guest joins (both outside LAN), both can see  presentation.
I thought that it is because I didn't have internal URL, so I added
    -InternalURL: https://lyncweb.domain.com
Now I have both internal and external URL that is the same. But it didn't change the situation.
    Any suggestions?

  • CA issue - Workstation signin "There was a problem verifying the certificate from the server"

    Hi,
We have issues with all workstations on our domain. I just recently setup Lync 2013 server on a windows 2012 OS. When I went to test sign-in, I received a message "There was
a problem verifying the certificate from the server". To fix this issue, I had to download the cert and import it into Trust Root Certification Authorities on the local workstation. This will be impossible if I have to do this for multiple machines.
Is there a way around  this? Why is it asking to do this?
    Thanks guys, much appreciated.
    MM

You can follow the instructions here to use Group Policy to install your root certificate to all your workstations.
Or you could re-deploy your CA as an Enterprise CA.
    Hi Georg,
    Thank you for your reply.
I did deploy my CA as an Enterprise CA..... Not sure why its still asking me to install on workstations?
How can I confirm its an Enterprise CA?
    Thanks,
    MM

  • Verify the data between SAP R/3 and SAP BW

    Hi Experts,
How to verify the data between SAP R/3 and SAP BW at the time of data mismatches in reports.
    give me the proper solution.
    Thanks,
    Syam

    Hello,
You must know what is the infoprovider source of the data shown in the report.
Once you know it, check the content filtering by same restrictions as in the mismatch report. Now you have the data in BW.
Then you have to know the proper transation or table in R/3, from where the extractor retrieves the data to populate the infoprovider; make same restrictions and compare it with data in BW.

  • Anyone know how to install the SAP/SDN SSO certificate on iOS device?

    Hi all,
I tried to benefit from Single Sign-On to the various SAP and SDN site on my iPad/iPhone by using the client certificate I already use in my desktop browser, but I haven't had any success using it so far...
I emailed the certificate to my iPad, and by tapping on the attachment it got (properly?) installed, i.e. at least it is visible under Settings > General > Profile
However, when navigating to SDN and choosing 'Certificate Logon', it seems to ignore any certificate I have stored and prompting me the username/password logon page...
Has anyone been able to use SSO using the certificate? I'm quite curious to know how I could achieve this.
    Best regards,

    Good question!
Whenever I attempt to use the SSO sign on to the forums, my Safari browser crashes.  I do have the Apple iPhone Configuration utility software which allows for companies to deploy certificates and other various items to its users. (free from the apple site)  What I see when I try to apply the cert for this site is, the private key is marked "unexportable".  Therefore I cannot apply that certificate to the device in its entirety.
I currently run the iPhone 4 with 4.0.1 software (I never update right away)

  • From time to time, I can't verify the expiration of my client certificate on IIS.

I have a IIS web server and a CA(AD CS) server built on a 2008R2 virtual machine.
I require a client certificate in order to access the web server.
It works very well but FROM TIME TO TIME, a 403 error code is returned.
According to the trace log(FailedReqLogFiles), a 0x80092013 error occurs.
Once this 403 error occurs, it last for about an hour and then everything goes back to normal.
In order to find out what is the problem, I have done setup:
    - CRL has a publication time of 1 hour
    - (Delta CRL) has a publication time of 30minutes.
    also:
    - Both web server and CA server are not on a domain but a workgroup
    - The CA certificate is registered on the web server & client on the root & intermediate certificate registrar.
    - Both setups are patched to the latest windows update
As far as I've checked the log:
    - on the web server log(source: CAPI2), there is an event id 53 at almost every hour for both the CRL & delta CRL
but before the problem occurs the event id 53 is only reported on the delta CRL and nothing on the CRL.
    - By the way, System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\X509Objects, the .crl file for the problematic update is only present on the delta CRL.
    - On the CA server's IIS access log, there is just the delta CRL access that is registered.
    - Below is the log on the CA server IIS's access log (XXX-CA is for anonymous sake):
    2014-04-16 10:51:34 fe80::f99a:eb13:7c7b:1de4%10 GET /CertEnroll/XXX-CA(1).crl - 80 - fe80::7993:d27a:af9f:170%10 Microsoft-CryptoAPI/6.1 200 0 0 218
    2014-04-16 10:51:39 fe80::f99a:eb13:7c7b:1de4%10 GET /CertEnroll/XXX-CA(1)+.crl - 80 - fe80::7993:d27a:af9f:170%10 Microsoft-CryptoAPI/6.1 200 0 0 202
    2014-04-16 11:52:05 fe80::f99a:eb13:7c7b:1de4%10 GET /CertEnroll/XXX-CA(1)+.crl - 80 - fe80::7993:d27a:af9f:170%10 Microsoft-CryptoAPI/6.1 200 0 0 265
    2014-04-16 12:52:22 fe80::f99a:eb13:7c7b:1de4%10 GET /CertEnroll/XXX-CA(1).crl - 80 - fe80::7993:d27a:af9f:170%10 Microsoft-CryptoAPI/6.1 200 0 0 218
    2014-04-16 12:52:28 fe80::f99a:eb13:7c7b:1de4%10 GET /CertEnroll/XXX-CA(1)+.crl - 80 - fe80::7993:d27a:af9f:170%10 Microsoft-CryptoAPI/6.1 200 0 0 202
    - I think that the 403 error is due to the fact this CRL is not getting reached but why would this happen?
    - Is there an other way than to restart the OS in order to clear this problem in a shorter time than 1 hour?
    side note:
    - this problem happens on the client setup too.
    - the log is shorten but if there is any filter to apply to get better information, please tell me.
I would appreciate any helps on this matter!
    nb:
this is a translation from a Japanese text.

    Hi,
The error message will occur if IIS cannot download CRLs of the client certificate, in other words, if the CA is shut down or there are network connectivity issues between web server and CA when Internet Information Services try
to download the client certificate’s CRL.
Therefore, please make sure that there is no network connectivity issue between the web server and CA, you can
find the IP address of the problem CDP server then add an entry to the HOSTS file on the IIS computer.
Here are some related KB articles below I suggest you refer to:

  • HT6065 After upgrading to OS X Mavericks v 10.9.1, keep getting "safari can't verify the identity of the website" and asks to show certificate, cancel or continue.  Is anyone else having this issue?

Hello.  Just upgraded to OS X Mavericks v 10.9.1.  Now I keep getting "safari can't verify the identity of the website" error.  I looked for other updates, but none are available. Am I doing something wrong?  Didn't do this before the upgrade, now I can't seem to log into anything through safari.

Most websites are checked to make sure they do not contain viruses or that they are properly encrypted.  If safari cannot identify a website's ceritificate, check if other browers do the same thing (make sure they are up to date browsers), if they all say it cannot be verified, then the site was probably hijacked and you should run a full scan of your computer for viruses, unless the page was blocked by safari and redirected to something that said fraudulent webstie detected.

  • Setup SSL on ABAP : the issuer certificate is unknown

    Hello,
I've been asked to set up the SSL on SAP 6.20 web applications servers (4.7).
I've carefully followed the instructions given in sap note 510007 : sapcryptolib installed, parametres configured, SSL server PSE configured, etc ..
Now, we have to create a certificate request and send it to our CA.
But, before to do that I wanted to test SSL server.
I found in the sapmarketplace that you can request a SSL Test Server Certificates, apparently it works exactly like the "real" SSL Server Certificates exept that it is temporary ( 8 weeks).
Therefore, I've generated the certificate request, sent it to sap trust certificate center, and imported the certificate response into the PSE, exactly as described in sap documentation.
Then I've established the trust relashionship necessary when using the SSL server PSE, I mean that I've imported the CA root certificate that the server should trust : TC TrustCenter Class 2 CA
Then I have inserted it into the server PSE's certificate list. In the end, I've restarted the ICM.
I wanted to test the SSL feature by sending https requests to the WAS but I got the following error (firefox):
******************************:1443 uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
    (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
Unknown identity, certificate is not trusted because it hasn't been verified by a recognized authority
As you can imagine, I checked the certificate authorities in the browser, and TC TrustCenter Class 2 CA exists ... so I really do not underdtand where does the error come from ? Maybe from the TEST server certificate ?
I encounter the same behaviour with IE7.
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Best regards.
    Raoul.
Edited by: Raoul Shiro on Mar 30, 2009 8:58 PM

    Hi Raoul,
the SSL Test Server Certificates are issued from the SAP Server CA. You need to install the root certificate of the SAP Server CA in your browser. You can download this root certificate from [http://service.sap.com/tcs] -> Download Area -> Root Certificates.
    Best regards,
    Klaus
