Verizon over a 10+ year customer

i'v been looking for a smart phone for a while now. in the last week i have been in Best buy, radio shack, walmart and the local verizon store. most of the time has been in the versizon store where yesterday the verizon rep told me that the phones i was looking at required the $30 data plan. I thought that was pretty steep but at least it was unlimited.
I am  A City cop, i was looking for a phone that i could use in the squad to look up statute numbers on the road side, and make heavy use of the GPS and google maps to respond to calls for service.  i was torn between two smart phones and decided to sleep on which one to buy.   I asked SPACIFICLY-- the data plan is unlimited ?"yes" the Google maps and nav are also unlimited and included in the $30 fee? "yes" . ok, i'll pick out a phone tomarrow!
now today i go to make my purcuse online and find that the data plan is only for 2GB/month!!! i call CS, yes, we changed that at midnight...there no way to get the price you were quoted yesterday. i ask for the superviser. she says that they should have told me about the upcomeing change "they all knew about it" , nothing we can do to help you. you'll have to talk to the store that quoted you the price.  me" so the store can get me the price they quoted?" her "no."...
i went back to the store. they said that they were under contract from verizon NOT to talk about the change!
I have been with verizon since before it was verizon(more then 10 years). i have spent more then $10K with this company.  i have refered many friends and family to this company.
 today they have refused to provide me with the service that they quoated me yesterday. they have lied to me either on the phone or to my face, and no one in CS will lift a finger to offer assistance.  I could walk into any other store in the country as a proven loyal customer and get the price and product  that the company rep had offered me the day before.  or at LEAST been told yesterday that the price was going to go up significantly.
instead Verizon chose to stab its long time customer in the back.
Verizon has today has lost thousends in potental income, as i am now looking for a new carrier, and my family and friends will come with me.

  • 12+-year customer overcharged due to Verizon error and can't get assistance

    I've been a Verizon customer for more than 12 years and have spent close to $10,000 with the company over this time. However, when a Verizon error resulted in me receiving $300 in overage charges, they did little to help, crediting me about $50 after hours upon hours of attempts to contact and resolve. I am strongly considering moving to a different provider. I attempted to upgrade my account online to more minutes once I switched jobs and needed to use my phone for business more frequently. However this change in plan did not hit my account until many weeks later resulting in the overage charges. Verizon still owes me $250 but I can't get suitable help despite many efforts. My husband and I are out of contract now so we will be discontinuing our business with Verizon unless they resolve this matter very soon. I'm disappointed that I could be a loyal customer for so many years and get zero action on this.

    I too am having the same issue with verizon . . .I can't get anywhere . . .back in Sep 2011 we got talked into upgrading our 3G Jetpack to a 4G . . .all of a sudden I had about $1,500 worth of overage charges . . .we tried upgrading our data plan also but continued to go over . . .I use my Jetpack only in Fl and I use it for business . . .I never went over on my 3G and I wasn't doing anything different or more with the 4G . . .I've been on the phone countless times trying to straighten this out . . .I don't want to pay the overages . . .I feel verizon ripped me off and rather then make me whole they are willing to lose me as a customer . . .I also have been with them since at least 2000 . . .I've never gone over data usage . . .and I've never complained about a bill . . .they did credit me some of the money . . .about $900 . . .but are refusing to credit the rest . . .said they did a test on the hub and it was accurate . . .I put my 3G back online and took the 4G off  this past Sep 2012 . . .I had no overage charges and used it exactly as I have every year . . .I too will be leaving them as soon as all my contracts are up . . .I pay over $400 to verizon a month . . .doesn't seem logical to me that they are willing to lose a $4,800 per year customer . . .of long standing over a one time data overage and $500 but that's what they are doing . . .I don't want to be ripped off by anyone . . .it's the principal of the thing . . .we are not talking a tangible item . . .it was data usage from a faulty hub . . .very dissatisfied customer

  • Verizon Complaint - Harassment, Lack of Customer Service, No Loyalty

    After searching long and hard, it appears that there is no place to lodge a formal complaint against Verizon.  I saw where an individual was told by a Verizon rep the place to file such complaints is right here in the forums.  This seems to be an ineffective place to make such statements.  With that said, I write this post with little expectation of satisfaction in remedying the complaint.  In fact, I believe that the lack of a formal complaint channel points to the company's unwillingness to address key business points, such as customer satisfaction.  Consider this post an indication of one such dissatisfied customer.
    As background, I have been a steady Verizon customer for about 12 years (give or take a year).  In that time, I have re-signed my contract several times, purchased numerous phones, and have been timely in my payments.  I seem to recall even being given a Verizon VIP status which gave me a discount on phone accessories.  The fact that most people reading this will have never heard of the Verizon VIP status points to how long I've been with Verizon.  My first Verizon phone was the Motorola V60i - top of the line at the time.
    Recently the credit card I have on file for auto payment expired.  I knew it was going to expire and updated the account with a new card as soon as it came in.  Apparently this update did not stick.  About two weeks ago, my wife began getting phone calls from Verizon.  Each time they called it would be from a different out of region phone number.  Each time an automated voice would leave a message about "changes to the account".  The calls increased to about 5 per day with several text messages throughout.  The first red flag is that her line is a secondary number, whereas mine is the primary.  If there was a legitimate change to the account the assumption is that Verizon would call the primary account holder.  They did not.
    This continued for about a week.  The calls and the texts would come during working hours and into the night.  I called one of the numbers back.  After pressing # to do this and # to do that, I was given a choice.  Press 1 to make a payment to the account or press 2 if you have already paid this bill or are planning to pay this bill immediately.  Since I had already paid the bill, I pressed 2.  The next automated message I received said that they would be expecting my payment within 7 days and the system would be updated to reflect I had made this agreement.  Failure to pay the bill would cause an interruption in my service.
    My problems-
    1. Verizon should  not call a secondary number to discuss the bill.  Luckily the secondary number was my wife's.  What if it had been a teenaged child?
    2. Verizon should not engage in such harassing techniques.  I have been a loyal customer for over a decade.  A simple phone call from a human and I would have happily explained I did update the card, and then paid immediately.  It went too far for no reason.
    3. As a customer, I should have quick access to a customer rep or another avenue, such as a dissatisfaction form in My Verizon, to outline this in a more conducive manner than simply throwing it into a pile of other forum posts with no sense of direction or expectation of satisfaction.
    It is for all these reasons that I am dissatisfied with Verizon currently.  I am not currently under contract and I am shopping for another provider.  While I'm sure many of my complaints will be found in the other provider, at least I have the satisfaction of taking my dollars to a company that will treat me like a number on a page instead of the misconception that customer loyalty still meant anything.  Again, I am not expecting any followup from Verizon, but you have my phone number if you would like to discuss this.  After all, a simple call from a human in the first place would have corrected this.
    My question to the rest of the forum is, "Am I the only one in this boat?"

    JonathanK_VZW,
    First, thank you for taking the time to respond to my statement.  I appreciate that you took the time to do so.
    However, I don't think that your response addresses my concerns.  I thought I had paid the bill as explained above.  Your financial department acted in a harassing manner by contacting a secondary phone number on my account.  Not once did anyone or any automated communication contact my number, the primary account holder.  The calls were as many as 5 in a day with several text messages.  The voice messages, when one was left, and the text messages simply stated there had been changes made to the account - hardly helpful information.  In fact, the limited statement was so cryptic that they were originally dismissed as being spam - a reasonable conclusion considering the amount of spam messages Verizon customers receive concerning "changes to the account".
    Luckily, the secondary number your financial department decided to contact was my wife's number.  Had it been a child's phone this complaint would have a completely different tone.  However, any number of other customers may not be so fortunate.  You stated " financial services may try to reach you on an alternate line or a contact number we have on file" as an explanation of this practice.  That answer only makes sense if you attempted the primary account holder first.  You did not.  Not one instance.
    You  mentioned that the volume of your customers prevents you from giving each one personalized service.  I realize Verizon must have an enormous customer base and the sheer volume creates complications that I have not yet considered.  May I suggest you make a special effort to show personal customer support to long term customers with an established track record of timely payments and patronage - such as myself.  The silver lining for Verizon is that your current solution to your customer load crisis - harassing phone calls, ineffective automated services, etc. - may self-correct your problem.  More and more folks will take their wallets elsewhere and you may find that managing effective customer service becomes a simpler task.
    Again, JonathanK_VZW, I do want to thank you for taking the time to respond.  That is sincere.  I did not expect Verizon to respond.  I would like my concerns to be passed to your supervisors and then to their supervisors.  I believe my points are valid criticisms of Verizon's current customer services.  I realize that customer service is traditionally a difficult role as it is the department the angry, screaming, crazies contact to vent.  I hope the simple measure by which I've responded shows that is not the case here - that the criticisms point to terrible service and any industry that values its customers would want to at least address the key points therein.
    To the supervisors:
    Any productive organization has to develop strategies that manage the work load while maintaining quality.  Those strategies must be reevaluated from time to time to measure effectiveness and quality. This message points to one of those times.  Effectiveness and quality are lacking.  It is time to develop a new strategy - a working strategy.  Your customers would appreciate it.

  • 5 year Customer thinking of switching to AT&T

    I have been a very loyal customer of Verizon Wireless for 5 years now and have loved the customer service and all the equipment we have purchased over the years until now!
    The first week of November 2010, I went in to my normal Verizon Store and upgraded 3 phones (all of which were regular phones upgraded to cellphones.) and also purchased a wireless remote connection card that all my devices including my home computer, could "supposively" work off of.  WRONG.  We have not been able to work the wireless internet card ever since we got it in NOVEMBER 2010.
    Also, our bill is ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH!  We have NEVER had a Bill over $350.00 and that is including 4 Cell Phones and a Netbook! I got a bill in January 2011 for $950.00.  Then in Febrauary I got a bill for $505.00 making our total bill $1,505.00.  WHY????? The first week in December 2010 I signed and NEW plan at my Verizon Store to pay only $99.00 per month for phone service with 700 minutes and NOW i found out that we are still having to pay for 1,400 minute plan.
    We were also suppose to receive 3 Rebate cards (2) for $100 (for upgrading to Droid2) and one for $50.00 for the regular cellphone upgrade.  We received (2) Cards 1 for $100 and 1 for $50 and the Rebate Center held the other $100 rebate card which we finally received a couple of weeks ago.
    I am a very disappointed customer and have spent MANY hard earn money with your company.  I hate to even think of switching to another company but this loyal customer NOW can't even get anyone to help her to get the equipment working half the time.  We still can not use the wireless  internet card yet we are paying $60.00 per month the service.
    If we could just have some type of customer assitance with this ASTRONOMICAL bill that we had not anticipated having due to signing a new plan, we would consider remaining Verizon Wireless customers.
    Regards,
    Sondrea

    Since this is not a customer service forum, but a peer to peer forum, you would do better getting a response from Verizon if you either called *611 from your cell or 800-922-0204 from your landline phone. You could also email them from THIS  page.
    Hope you get it worked out.

  • 20 year customer...jilted!! $1200..so valuable

    Have been a Verizon (Alltel customer) for 20 years.  I have two young boys, data, internet usage was supposed to be blocked when I set it up almost a year ago.  Hello November and $1200 bill.  All of the sudden they figured out they could get downloads and pictures on their phone and Internet!  Blocked I thought!...Not!  This is the childs fault....verizon says.  I've informed my 10 yr old that he is responsible for the bill....I guess he better get a job! Ha!
    I am such a valuable customer, never late on my bill etc....so valuable that Verizon cannot take care of these charges that were made because of their mistake!!!
    I don't feel very valuable!

    brokebyverzn wrote:
    My most recent bill is over $900!!  Some of those charges, like yours are from services that have been blocked..More than once!!   Over the past year I have called Verizon atleast once a month for issues with our bill!!!  This is ridiculous...We have had our family share plan with verizon for 6 years and each year they get worse..The customer service is terrible, reps are rude or untrained, they are not helpful, phones are not worth what it cost verizon to ship them, more dropped calls, horrible reception...and the list goes on and on...With all that said, the thing that really gets me is how we are charged to discontinue service $100 or more *(generally), yet everytime I turn around Verizon is changing the terms of the very contract we are bound to.  Are they not bound by these terms as well, it is a contract we entered into with them??  Right?  The fine print means nothing to someone who isn't "computer"/"network" savey...In other words a MB, GB, KB may be understood by some and not mean didley to others!  They may as well write it in chinese!  We are done with this company, paying the fees to disconnect will be worth it in the end!
    What terms in your contract has Verizon changed?  You are quite right that they are bound to offer you the plan you signed up for until the end of your contract, and I have never heard of Verizon violating this, so I am curious to know what exactly happened in your case.
    As to terms like MB, GB, and KB being basically in "chinese," you are currently on the internet, so you've gotten that far.  This means that you can use a search engine like Google to find answers to questions you may have about what these terms mean.  The language in Verizon's contract is not made-up jargon, they use terms that are commonly accepted (like "minute," "text," and "KB/MB/GB") to describe the services they provide, and I have yet to see a case where Verizon used those words in a way that wasn't in line with their common meaning.  If you still can't find the definition of a term, feel free to post a question on these forums, I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.

  • How to set up iPhone 5 iOS 6 email with IMAP over SSL on a custom port?

    Basically I have the same problem as this guy 5 years ago but the thread contained no useful answer. Maybe there are people out there who became smarter in the meantime? Please help me out how to get my iPhone read emails via IMAP over SSL on a custom port to the corporate server. The issue is that the iPhone only seems to work if you use the standard 993 port for IMAPS, not with a custom port as we have. I've installed the corporate root certificate in a profile, and it shows up as trusted and verified in the phone, so that should not be the issue. The mail app in the iPhone tries to connect, I can verify that from the server, but then does nothing, doesn't try to authenticate, doesn't log out, nothing is going on, and then drops the connection after 60 seconds. Repeats this every 5 minutes (as set to fetch e-mail every 5 minutes.)
    Original thread 5 years ago: https://discussions.apple.com/message/8104869#8104869

    Solved it by some (a lot) of fiddling.
    Turns out it's not a bug in the iPhone, it's a feature.
    Here's how to make it work.
    DOVECOT
    If the IMAPS port is anything other than 933 (the traditional IMAPS port) the iPhone's Mail App takes the "Use SSL" setting on the IMAP server as 'TLS', meaning it starts the communication in plain text and then issues (tries to issue) the STARTTLS command to switch the connection to encrypted. If, however, Dovecot is set up to start right away in encrypted mode, the two cannot talk to each other. For whatever reason neither the server nor the client realizes the connection is broken and only a timeout ends their misery.
    More explanation about SSL/TLS in the Dovecot wiki: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/SSL
    So to make this work, you have to set Dovecot the following way. (Fyi, I run Dovecot 2.0.19, versions 1.* have a somewhat different config parameters list.)
    1. In the /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-master.conf file make sure you specify the inet_listener imap and disable (set its port to 0) for imaps like this:
    service imap-login {
      inet_listener imap {
        port = --your port # here--
      inet_listener imaps {
        port = 0
        ssl = yes
    This of course enables unencrypted imap for all hackers of the universe so you quickly need to also do the things below.
    2. In the /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-ssl.conf file, make sure you set (uncomment) the following:
    ssl = required
    This sets Dovecot to only serve content to the client after a STARTTLS command was issued and the connection is already encrypted.
    3. In /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-auth.conf set
    disable_plaintext_auth = yes
    This prevents plain text password authentication before encryption (TLS) is turned on. If you have also set ssl=required as per step 2, that will prevent all other kinds of authentications too on an unencrypted connection.
    When debugging this, please note that if you connect from localhost (the same machine the server runs on) disable_plaintext_auth=yes has no effect, as localhost is considered secure. You have to connect from a remote machine to make sure plain text authentication is disabled.
    Don't forget service dovecot restart.
    To test if your setup works as it's supposed to, issue the following (green) from a remote machine (not localhost) (I'm using Ubuntu, but telnet and openssl is available for almost all platforms) and make sure Dovecot responds with something like below (purple):
    telnet your.host.name.here yourimapsportnumber
    * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE STARTTLS LOGINDISABLED] Dovecot ready.
    Most importantly, make sure you see 'STARTTLS' and 'LOGINDISABLED'. Then issue STARTTLS and hopefully you see something like this:
    a STARTTLS
    a OK Begin TLS negotiation now.
    (The 'a' in front of STARTTLS is not a typo, a prefix is required by the IMAP server in front of all commands.)
    Close the telnet (with 'a logout' or Ctrl+C) and you can use openssl to further investigate as you would otherwise; at the end of a lot of output including the certificate chain you should see a line similar to the one below:
    openssl s_client -starttls imap -connect your.domain.name.here:yourimapsportnumber
    . OK Pre-login capabilities listed, post-login capabilities have more.
    You can then use the capability command to look for what authentication methods are available, if you see AUTH=PLAIN, you can then issue a login command (it's already under an encrypted connection), and if it's successful ("a OK Logged in"), then most likely your iPhone will be able to connect to Dovecot as well.
    a capability
    * CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE AUTH=PLAIN
    a login username password
    * CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE SORT SORT=DISPLAY THREAD=REFERENCES THREAD=REFS MULTIAPPEND UNSELECT CHILDREN NAMESPACE UIDPLUS LIST-EXTENDED I18NLEVEL=1 CONDSTORE QRESYNC ESEARCH ESORT SEARCHRES WITHIN CONTEXT=SEARCH LIST-STATUS
    a OK Logged in
    POSTFIX
    Likewise, you have to set Postfix to wait for STARTTLS before encrypting the communication.
    1. You have to delete the setting smtpd_tls_wrappermode=yes from /etc/postfix/master.cf and/or /etc/postfix/main.cf, if it was enabled. This will mean Outlook won't be able to connect any more because it requires a TSL connection without issuing STARTTLS as per Postfix documentation (haven't tested.) In my case we don't use Outlook so I didn't care. Outlook + iPhone + custom SMTPS port are simply not possible together at the same time as far as I understand. Pick one to sacrifice.
    2. Require encrypted (TLS) mode for any data transfer in /etc/postfix/main.cf:
    smtpd_tls_security_level = encrypt
    3. Authentication should only happen while already in encrypted (TLS) mode, so set in /etc/postfix/main.cf:
    smtpd_tls_auth_only = yes
    Don't forget postfix reload.
    To test if this works, issue the following telnet and wait for the server's greeting:
    telnet your.host.name.here yoursmtpsportnumber
    220 your.host.name ESMTP Postfix (Ubuntu)
    Then type in the EHLO and make sure the list of options contains STARTTLS and does not include an AUTH line (that would mean unencrypted authentication is available):
    ehlo your.host.name.here
    250-STARTTLS
    Then issue starttls and wait for the server's confirmation:
    starttls
    220 2.0.0 Ready to start TLS
    Once again, it's time to use openssl for further testing, detailed info here http://qmail.jms1.net/test-auth.shtml
    CERTIFICATES
    You also need to be aware that iOS is somewhat particular when it comes to certificates. First of all, you have to make sure to set the following extensions on your root certificate (probably in the [ v3_ca ] section in your /etc/ssl/openssl.cnf, depending on your openssl setup), especially the 'critical' keyword:
    basicConstraints = critical,CA:true
    keyUsage = critical, cRLSign, keyCertSign
    subjectKeyIdentifier=hash
    authorityKeyIdentifier=keyid:always,issuer:always
    And then on the certificate you sign for your mail server, set the following, probably in the [ usr_cert ] section of /etc/ssl/openssl.cnf:
    basicConstraints=CA:FALSE
    keyUsage = nonRepudiation, digitalSignature, keyEncipherment
    subjectKeyIdentifier=hash
    authorityKeyIdentifier=keyid,issuer
    subjectAltName = DNS:your.domain.name.here
    issuerAltName=issuer:copy
    Please note, the above are results of extensive google-ing and trial and error, so maybe you can omit some of the stuff above and it still works. When it started working for me, I stopped experimenting because figuring this all out already took way too much time. The iPhone is horribly undocumented when it comes to details of its peculiar behaviors. If you experiment more and have more accurate information, please feel free to post here as a reply to this message.
    You have to import your root certificate into your iPhone embedded in a profile via the iPhone Configuration Utility (free, but only available in Windows or a Mac; details here: http://nat.guyton.net/2012/01/20/adding-trusted-root-certificate-authorities-to- ios-ipad-iphone/ ), after having first added it to Windows' certificate store as a trusted root certificate. This way the Utility will sign your certificate for the phone and it becomes usable; if you just add it from the phone it will be there but won't be used. Using a profile has the added benefit of being able to configure mail settings in it too, and that saves a lot of time when you have to install, remove, reconfigure, install again, etc. a million times until it works.
    Another undocumented constraint is that the key size is limited to a max of 4096. You can actually install a root certificate with a larger key, the iPhone Configuration Utility will do that for you without a word. The only suspicious thing is that on the confirmation screen shown on your iPhone when you install the profile you don't get the text "Root Certificate/ Installing the certificate will add it to the list of trusted certificates on your iPhone" in addition to your own custom prompt set up in the iPhone Configuration Utility. The missing additional text is your sign of trouble! - but how would know that before you saw it working once? In any case, if you force the big key certificate on the device, then when you open the Mail App, it opens up and then crashes immediately. Again, without a word. Supposedly Apple implemented this limit on the request of the US Government, read more here if you're interested: http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/kamtec1/archive/2012/10/13/limitation-of-appl e-devices-iphone-ipad-etc-on-rsa-key-size-bit.aspx .
    IN CLOSING...
    With all this, you can read and send email from your iPhone.
    Don't forget to set all your other clients (Thunderbird, Claws, etc.) to also use STARTTLS instead of SSL, otherwise they won't be able to connect after the changes above.

    Also, is there any way to save a group or an open session and then restore it later?

    History menu, if it was destroyed in the last session
    then use "Restore Previous session:" and then restore all windows also from the history menu.
    If done in this session try the restore all windows under the history menu.

    When I switched computers my songs now cut off and don't play out.  How can I get my songs back to play fully that I purchased from ITunes over the past years?

    Other people have been having similar problems with songs over the last few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
    Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
    If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • If I enter birthdays into my diary will they automatically be carried over to next year

    If I enter birthdays into my diary will they automatically be carried over to next year or will I have to enter them all again.

    Hmm.... When in year view, the birthdays only show up through 2014 like I said. But if I go into any other view, they do show up as expected. So much for year at glance help.
    Maybe my calendar knows that at my age I'm not likely to be celebrating anybody's birthday beyond 2014! Yikes! Sure hope that's not the case.

    Thanks Peter.  I thought about that and had discounted the idea but since I am only 30 minutes away from my A store, I think I'll give it a try. I can be charming specially when I wear clean jeans and a nice top. :-)

    As being a novice with my Mac Pro computer and Cannon 5D mark 3 camera my issue has arisen while over the last year and half, when down loading into my Photoshop Lightroom 4, my 18,000  photograph were not catalogued correctly, or hardly at all, so now over several months time my photos have apparently been redirected in my libraries and have begun not appearing in their allotted frames next to their number in the library they are in. they also have a small question mark (?) next to the photo space. The frames are blank but indicates that there is a photo there. The majority of photos are blank but about a tenth are seen . i apparently need to retrace where they went but do not know how to get that done . can someone help please?

    It would be difficult to tell you where to begin. If you moved photos around to different folders and didn't use Lightroom to move them, that would cause Lightroom to lose track of where they are. You have to remember that your images are not "in" Lightroom. Lightroom simply points to them wherever they are on your computer. All of the location information as well as the changes that you make to your images is stored in the catalog, which is a database. This catalog is central to the operation of Lightroom, and it's essential that you understand how it works and how to make it work for you. For all of those images that have "?" On them, or the folders that have the same, you will have to go through the process of locating them and showing Lightroom where they are located. With 18,000 images, and many of them missing, it might just be easier to start a new catalog and organize things properly from the beginning in that catalog.

    I have Adobe Acrobat installed as part of the CS6 suite.
    It has stopped working (yet again -- it has done that three of four times over the last year).
    I have spent days trying to repair it; etc. without any success.
    The last time this happened, it was necessary for someone from Adobe to reinstall it entirely, if I remember correctly.
    I give up. Can anyone tell me what I must do get the program to actually work?
    I spend more time trying to get Adobe Acrobat to work, than I do actually doing my work.
    My OS is Windows 8.1.  My system has 16 MB of RAM, and hard disks are not overfilled.
    I run update virus checker (Kaspersky) daily.
    Cheers,
    Hugh

    Hi Hugh ,
    Could you please tell what are the challenges you are facing while trying to access Acrobat ?
    Do you get any error message ?If yes ,please share the screen shot of the same.
    Please try the solution outlined here: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html
    OR
    Try repairing it from Control panel, or try launching it with a different user account and check if it works or not.
    Install the latest updates for Acrobat X from the link : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
    and check.
    Let us know how it goes,
    Regards
