Version in Contract

Hi,
i am working in the updation program for contract,
i have two mode.
1. mode:
      I want to update the u2018Activeu2019 Version even though if we have change version or not.
2. Mode;
            if we have active version then, we need to create change version -- important help me on this..???
             If we have change version then, we need to update in change version only.
How can i achieve this functionality? I am using 'BBP_PD_CTR_Update' FM.
Plz help me on this...

Release Strategy in Contract

Hello Guru
I have Created a Contract and when ever i want to change the Contract my release Strategy has to be re triggered and my version management is Active.
I tried to change the Value in Contract and when i do change the Value and if i ticked the Version on the Header of the Contract then my new release Strategy has to be re triggered but its not happening. when i checked the tick box in version in Contract it is saving but when i come out of the Contract it is showing unticked again.
I am unable to re trigger the Contract and if i tick the Version in the header of the Contract when i close it untick the verison it is not saving, how can i do this, please let me know

Release strategy will trigger again when the version will be completed.
You have to tick the flag as version complete for contract, only the release strategy will be reset.
Be sure you release indicator has the Changeable as 6.
Then make the version complete for release strategy as below :
Once you will click the version complete flag, then version complete tick will also displayed.

Project Backup Issue

We have a situation where single project backup is reported as "completed successfully" , but when we try to restore it, it gives error.
The Oracle Tech Support is horrible beyond imagination. For two weeks they kept telling me that they are working on it, and now they want to start over and want another backup sample. This tells me clearly, they have no clue, just fishing around to find something. Here is the entire conversation:

Based on the information you have provided and the support team's previous
experience with the issue I believe the project itself may be corrupt in some way.
Therefore when one attempts to restore the project the restore process fails the
validity check due to possible missing data within the project.
Because the .JAR file itself is corrupt I'm unable to view its contents using an XML editor
or other means.
Please upload a copy of a database export of the Oracle database where this project
exists. This way I can restore the data here and query the contents of the project
itself to confirm whether there is missing or invalid data within the project.

This is really frustrating to receive such responses for a paid service contract after more than two weeks of pending SR. Did you read my entire post before posting your question or you just want me to start all over again. Last time you said that you have reproduced the issue, then why do you need another backup?
Anyway the replies are as under:
1. This is happening with one project and not multiple projects ( read my earlier responses)
2. No, there were no errors reported ( read my earlier responses)
3. It was saved on local drive
4.As I understand you were able to reproduce the issue, then why do you need me to send you another backup. If so, please define the backup should be under what environment variables, because I dont want you to come back 2 weeks later and ask for another backup with different variables.

3- Where is the backup file being saved when it is taken? On the local machine or to a network drive on some other machine?
4- Please create another single project backup of this project and attempt to restore that new backup to the new database

As expalined earlier, this was happening without any error until we installed the Contract Management Exchange Module. Since then we have uninstalled the module, but the error continues.

1- What is the version and build of Contract Management? (This can be found in the upper right corner of the log on screen)
2- What is the error message or behavior that occurs when attempting to restore the backup?
3- Does the project already exist in the group to which the backup is being restored?
4- What application server is being used with Contract Management? JBOSS or Weblogic?
- If you are unsure which app server is being used do the following
a. On the web server machine right click my computer and choose manage > expand services and apps > click on services
b. Scroll through services and look for the service named either Contract Manager or Primavera Contract Management. If this service exists
then open My Computer > open the drive that has your installed programs and look for a folder named JBOSS 5.0.1 GA
c. If both of the above exist then your running JBOSS if neither of the above exist then go to step d.
d. Open My computer and look for either of the below folders:
[drive letter]:\bea\user_projects\domains\[Contract Management domain name]
[drive letter]:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\[Contract Management domain name]
e. If either of the above folders exist then it is likely that Weblogic is being used as the application server.

We back up the project before processing monthly pay requisitions, so that it can be restored in case the process is to be reversed. Till last month it was working properly. This problem started after we installed Contract Management Exchange Program to export the Pay Requisitions. Since then we have uninstalled this program, but the error continues.

I've experienced this also and I would then try the same project the next day and it worked OK. Sometimes the backup file does not get completely written for whatever reason. Try again sometime when there is no one else logged in. ALSO, and more importantly, make sure that you are selecting a LOCAL path when backing up. As in your local C or D drive. Don't assume that your "My Documents" folder is local either because in many organizations that is on a network drive somewhere.

XML format Issue with Webservice

Flash player still not working after following all discussion advice

Requested information: I have Internet explorer 9/ using 32 bit on 64 bit computer/windows 7/flash player 10.2 version
I contracted what my husband called a "rider" virus when I opened a knitting pattern of all things and if I understood it correctly was one of the anti-malware viruses talked about. My husband was able to remove the virus but like others have said here, my flash player will not work. My computer is only 3 months old!
Here is what we have done:
1: First removed all flash player and shock wave
2: I have run a full scan with my Mcafee program, then ran a full scan and quick scan too with my malwarebytes program. Everything in both is now clean. I then rebooted (I also even tried doing all of this in safe mode too with nothing changing)
3: came online and read a bazillion threads about others problems and tried every suggestion pretty much including those below
4: husband checked the kill bit (d27 thingy) and it was not there
5: reinstalled flash player and shock after running the scans and though they show up in my programs when I looked at the add ons as suggest to others the
neither shockwave or Flash Object was there
6: uninstalled everything again
So now I am back to where I started with nothing installed because I still have an issue and we don't know what it is. I truly appreciate your help in any way as it is frustrating that none of the other suggestions have helped.
this may not as my grandma used to say have anything to do with the price of rice in china, but we do keep getting a short freeze up on the computer followed by a message that the display driver stopped responding and recovered then it works again, but it does happen fairly frequently and this has been since the virus. I am showing everything is clean though with regards to virus scans and malware spyware scans.

Just when I thought I would finally find the answer you sent a message offline, which didn't help me a bit.
I have the same problem. My wife got a virus and I was able to uninstall it by poking around. After killing the virus IE would not run. I found some messages on the internet which enabled me to solve that problem by making some registry changes. However, I still have not been able to get IE to run flash. I do have it running in FireFox.
What was the step that you sent in private email that enabled him top solve the problem?

Some thoughts on my Moto X

Getting this phone on the heals of getting it's bigger Sibling the Droid Maxx is taking some getting use to the screen size for sure is smaller but the build Quality to me is tab better) Plus I like the fact that it was built here in the states actually a few states south of me..
Here's the Model I went with:
1. I chose the black over the white because seeing the Display models especially the white one's they showed signs of being handled..mine of course would only be handled by me but I think the longevity of use in the black unit will go farther.
2.The chargers on both of my new phones actually are pretty decent looking further into the specks they show a charge rate of 5.0V at 1150mA not bad at all both phones charge in about 3 to 4 hours..
3.The display quality could be a bit more but in reading I understand why Google / Motorola went with what they did and it might not have sing sang processor as some of the phones do but it can run program's & the internet fast enough for me and as for handling Games) The one's that I've loaded into it run pretty well.. the 2 that I currently have on my phone is Madden25 and Wingsuit - by Proximity Pro..
4. Sound Quality is very Good but not Great: And I'll add it's pleasing for once, not to have too put up with the snapping that was at times a nuisance on my Razr Maxx's) I'll add sound tones = Ringtones are a mix bag some sound good some just sound but music if it's not cranked up all the way sounds pretty Good..
5.Wallpapers Like soundtone's are as well a mix bag some look really good on the Moto X but some you just have to remove them and go to something else
6. Texting on my Moto X for the most of it is pretty smooth and the messages seem to flow in and out of the phone quite fast..
7. Going from app to app in the playstore flows pretty smooth there's I've had a hiccup flipping through some of it but for most it ran as I mentioned..
8. Skimming through apps in the apps Drawer move pretty smooth as well / and I have yet to run a power reset.. Guess you can call that good

I'd seen an article on CNET or somewhere that came out last summer when the Moto X was new, where the Motorola engineers that developed the phone had researched competing models and found that everyone's "quadcore" processors never used more than two of those cores at any given time, so sticking with a dual core cpu as part of the X's architecture was one of the reasons they could make more efficient use of the battery. Hence most folks don't see any difference in the X's performance vs. quadcore equipped phones.
As I mentioned in another thread, I went through more hoops with Motorola directly to get my version off contract, because I wanted both a Motomaker design with a wooden back, AND the 32 gigs of storage. That didn't seem to be an option going directly through VZW for a subsized (contract) phone. At this point I like the idea of not being tied up for two years to a device, but I don't see myself trading in early for something new, unless perhaps it's a better version of the X that's supposed to come out this summer.

Document Storage on CM14

We are currently running an old version of Contract Manager [11.0] and are looking to upgrade to 13 or 14. One of the features that I have seen listed is the ability to attach documents to the job file. Would that include external scanned or PDF documents? We wanted to get a digital copy of contracts, signed change orders, field notes, etc and wanted to make sure that this was possible within CM. Does anyone have any experience with this and care to offer comments? Issues?

Does the system store the scanned/PDF/etc files in the job? Or is it stored in some other file or subfile on the server. The reason that I ask is that when we upgrade, we'll need to account for the storage size, plus when we archive a job, will the stored documents transfer with the CM job file as part of the archive? Do we need to back up or archive the documents separately?

"This file cannot be exported to the selected location" Error always appear

Dear All,
when am trying to Export an excel sheet as a contract file, i click save as and i get the error ( This file cannot be exported to the selected location ) on some clients computers not all of them, any advice please?

The vast majority of the time, when user interface issues present in Contract Management, it is due to an incompatible Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on the client machine.
Each version of Contract Management has a Tested Configurations document.
Proactively ensuring client configuration specifications conform to those outlined in the Tested Configurations document, will enable Contract Management to function as designed, without negative impact to user productivity.

Transfer virus from Mac to Windows?

My work computer running Windows XP just got a virus/trogan. It's called Antivirus Live and apparently it's transferred via pdf files. The only pdf I've opened in recent memory is one from my partner who was using a Macbook running Snow Leopard. She does not have Windows installed on her Mac. The pdf was created on the Mac from a Pages file and had not been edited on any other computer before she sent it to me.
So, can Macs be a 'carrier' of viruses and infect Windows machines? If so, how do I get rid of it on the Mac so that it doesn't continue to infect Windows machines?

Antivirus Live infections are not transferred via PDF unless there's a very new version of this malware that I haven't seen nor heard about.
Did you respond to any "virus" warnings on your Windows system recently? Antivirus Live (and it's many, many sibling versions) is contracted by a Windows user who while surfing the web sees the fake "virus warning" that the developers make pop up by hacking or tagging onto other web sites. The user, being fooled by the popup into thinking their system has viruses, then mistakenly downloads and install this "antivirus software" which is in and of itself is malware. The only way a PDF file could be involved would be if someone were to disguise the installer as a PDF file and so entice to get the user to run it.
Macs be a 'carrier' of viruses and infect Windows machines?
Only if a Mac user were to deliberately send an malware file to a Windows user. This could be done by trickery, making the user thing that the file was something another user might want, but as of today there have been no confirmed reports of any virus (other than the Word macro virus) or worm that can infect Mac OS X, much less transmit themselves to a Windows system.

Connecting to Vodafone Live on N95

Wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction with this enquiry?
I bought an unlocked Nokia N95 (not 8GB - older version) My contract is with Vodafone. I stuck-in the SIM and booted it up. I can find my home wireless network and connect to the internet but I have no idea how to connect to the internet on the road?
It was originally an O2 phone and everything seems to be preset to connect to O2 WAP. Have tried menu/tools/settings/connections/access points/new access point ... but then I'm guessing the settingf for Vodafone WAP??
Any advice would be appreciated!

Nokia N95 'comes with music'

I've recently bought an 8gb N95 on a contract with Orange, from phones 4 u.
I downloaded the Nokia comes with music application on my PC, and attempted to register my mobile.
It asked me to enter the pin number that came with my phone, in the 'comes with music leaflet'.
I do not have a 'comes with music' leaflet.
Does this mean I cannot get access to free songs?
It was the main reason I bought the phone!

You presumed wrong. If you wanted the "comes with music" version you needed to ask for it as not all retailers sell it. The nokia website shows both versions of the N95 8GB.
The N95 8GB has been available for over a year now but the "comes with music" package has only been available for a month or two. Most retailers don't sell the "comes with music" version due to it being an older model and more expensive than the standard version.
They won't be able to give you the pass code as the "comes with music" version is more expensive (approx £50) to cover the music licenses.
I believe the only network that is doing the "come with music" version on contract is 3.

Replacing DSO with InfoObject for storing time-dependent master data

Hi Gurus,
currently I am storing time-dependent contract items in a DSO. The posting items are enriched with this master data as well as some other transaction data into another consolidated DSO, which includes the time-dependency (valid from & valid to) as well for better performance. But this means that we will have a large number of records, because 1 new posting item could end up with few posting items more due to the versions of contract item.
Since there are many posting items (>50 millions yearly, daily peak 1-2 million) and the complexity with delta management, I am considering whether to use an InfoObject for storing the contract items. The number of contract items are not many, about 300,000 after migration and about 10,000 each month.
Hence, I would like to ask whether this approach is feasible? Is there a size limit for a master data InfoObject?

hi,
The Time dependent MD object will create the same number of records for the contract item (maybe more) as each contract item will have different record for different time frame.
this can be better explained with example.
let us say you have 1 contract item with 2 entries one valid from 2007-2008 and the other from 2008 onwards.
In DSO this will create 2 records, in time dependent MD object it would also create 2 records.
In the infopackage for the MD you would need to provide the interval (time range) for the MD.
if you provide it as 2007 till 2999 then two records will be created one with 2007-08 and other valid from 2008-999.
However as there would be other contract items which would have lower date say 2006 then this contract item would create 3 rows, 1 row for 2006-07 with blank values, 2nd for 2007-08 and 3rd for 2008-999. This way it has more number of records than the DSO.
In case of MD object you may not be able to delete data as well in future if the object is used in some other place.
There will be many pros and cons of the approach you are thinking and you would have to weigh them and decide.
