Vertical setting during continuous acquisition with NI5112

I need to change the current vertical range configuration during a continuous acquisition.
Is it possible without data loss?
Or I have to stop the acquisition?
Thanks for your answers.

Thank you Annette, your answer allows me to understand some details about PCI-5112 board.
I need to acquire continuously data at 2 Msample/sec for 10 minutes at least, without loss, and signal level can slowly change during the acquisition (es. a sinusoidal amplitude increasing from 0.5 to 2 V into 10 minutes).
It’s important to adjust the vertical setting due to use all the dynamic range.
I’ve used “niscope Fetch&Save Forever.vi”, performing a single channel continuous acquisition with 8-bit fetching data (“1 channel acquiring – 1 channel fetching” example).
Fetch operation is inside the loop, while all the configuration ones are outside, so if I want to change a configuration parameter, I have to exit from the f
etching loop, stop the acquisition (with “niscope abort.vi”), set the new parameters and finally restart the acquisition, with a necessary loss of data.
I thought a second way: “2 channel acquiring – 1 channel fetching”.
If I have well understood, I could acquire the same signal from both the channels, configured with different vertical settings (es. +/-1V and +/-2.5V respectively), so I could fetch data from the better vertical range channel only.
In this mode I perform an effective vertical setting (but in 2 steps only) during the continuous acquisition without data loss.
First question:
Is it right? Is the last example (2 ch. Acq. – 1 ch. Fetch) more expensive with respect to the first (1 ch. Acq. – 1 ch. Fetch) in terms of PC and/or OS resources?
I have inserted the PCI-5112 board in a Pentium III, 128 Mb RAM, with Windows ME OS.
Second question:
Sometimes, during the fetching operation, the board stops the acquisition (I see
noise only), and it’s necessary to make the shutdown of PC, before to see the signal again!
Is it necessary a reset (with "niscope Reset.vi")? Is a Windows ME bug? Is a board failure?
Thank you in advance.

  • DAQ collecting finite samples despite being set to continuous acquisition mode

    Hello,
I've created a vi which reads data from one channel on my USB 6225 OEM device, displays the data to a chart, and writes the data to a .csv file using the write to spreadsheet file vi. The DAQ acquisition mode is set to Continuous Samples; however it behaves as if it were set to N Samples, as the number of data points written to my .csv file is equal to the number specified in the Samples to Read input.
I replaced the DAQmx Assistant vi with the Simulate Signal vi and observed the same behavior. Why does this happen?
    Attached below is my vi.
    Attachments:
    chart time.vi ‏78 KB

When the acquisition mode is set to continuous samples, the samples to read input becomes the buffer size -- not the number of samples read. I expect the DAQ to collect samples until I stop the vi. This is the behavior I have always seen in the past, so don't know why it is any different this time.

  • Multi-record continuous acquisition with PCI-5112

    Hallo!
I need to know if it is possible to obtayn a continuous acquisition in multi-record mode.
In "niScope EX Multi Record Fetch Forever.vi" shipping example (LV 5.1), it seems to stop when "loop index" rises to "number of records -1" value.
I've not the avilability of the PCI5112 card at the moment, so I cannot to try on, but I need of a confirm.
If I've well understood, I could modify the loop condition, by erasing the check on loop index, and by wiring "loop index"mod(N), to "fetch record number" attribute (let's define N as "number of records"). So I could continuously fetch the records 0,1,..,N-1, for the first cycle, and again 0,..N-1, for the second cycle, and so on.
OK! I think that the contents of a reco
rd number K (with 0<=K<=N-1) are different if acquired in different cycles! In this way I can obtayn a "for ever" multi record acquisition. Is it right?
    Thanks for your answers.

    NatRob,
It sounds like you are on the right track. The only thing keeping this from running continuously is the comparison of "loop iteration + 1" to the "number of records." Other than that, the loop should only stop when an error occurs or hte Stop button is pressed. Just erase the greater than comparison and the boolean used to stop the loop and it should work.

  • Band Pass Filtering during continuous acquisition

Is it possible to apply digital bandpass filtering to a continuous acquisition using the NI 5112 Digitizer? The measurement filters seem to apply to a fixed length acqusition. The Max Input Frequency does nothing, even in the acquisition example. If this is not possible, how do you select the 20Mhz low pass limit.

    Hello,
From the information that you gave me, it appears that you are using the niScope Digital Filtering example. This example runs continuously, but there is a fixed number of records that it must acquire for each iteration of the loop.
If you want to enable the 20MHz filter, try using the function niScope Config Chan Characteristics, and set the Max Frequency to 20 MHz. It sounds as though you have tried this, but you need to make sure you use that funciton.

  • Why can I only write the samples to read during continuous acquisition?

I am acquiring analog voltage signals and attemting to write to a text file when condition is true, thus there is continuous acquisition. However, the written files only contain 100 samples (the size of my buffer).. I need my files to read samples until the while loop is stopped. How can I go abotu doing this?
    Thanks,

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I have been able to make this work, but  it only writes the buffer size. I am new to labview and programming in general and I have tried to make a producer and consumer design however I dont seem to understand the concept properly and fail to run my program properly... So here's my code before any attempt to producer/consumer design which only writes 100 samples to file. Advice on how to modify it to producer/consumer because Im not even sure where to start.

  • Data acquisition with highly accurate GPS time stamping (hh:mm:ss:sss UT)

A research group has developed a data acquisition system dedicated to daily observations of solar phenomena at radio waves using high time resolution (5-100 ms).
First, the analog signal from the antenna (1000-2500 MHz) is sent to a spectrum analyzer (HP8559-A). After that, the analog signal is digitized during 5 minutes in a NI USB-6009 device connected to the PC, before to be stored in a file. By that time, other acquisition data cycle is restarted and so on up to the end of day.
However, we need timestamp (UTC) the solar data at the beginning and end of each sample of 5 milliseconds, during all acquisition process, in order to have the UTC time information of recorded solar events. So, a time resolution of at least 1 ms is required.
A software permit us to read recorded data and visualize corresponding spectra during last 5 minutes. However, we need UTC time information in the format hh:mm:ss.sss UT. Then, UTC millisecond is important for us, but not available yet.
To solve this problem, we are searching for a high accuracy timing GPS receiver (on the order of microseconds or nanoseconds), with at least three significant digits of precision (UT time in milliseconds) and which give us the UTC signal at least each 5 milliseconds or even better (1 ms). However, most GPS receivers only outputs 1 PPS (Pulse Per Second = 1000 millisecond).
Then, we are open to a better addressing on how to solve this problem !!
We know that GPS time synchronization with PXI-6608 can be used to precisely timestamp data acquisition, but we have to solve this problem with a lower cost. Also, we require a PCI interfacing instead of PXI.
Do we have to use a timer card? How do we use a timer, GPS and USB-6009 to timestamp data acquisition? Does the NI PCI-6602 solve the problem?
    Obs:
The data acquisition software was developed in C++ Builder to run on a PC (Pentium III 2 GHz) under Windows XP environment. We used the NI-DAQmxBase driver to sample the signal from the NI USB-6009.
We are sure your expertise can help us on this matter.
    Regards,

I better explain my problem in the thread How to timestamp continuous analog data acquisition using USB-6009 and GPS timing board?
We are considering to use the PCI-1588 or a GPS timing board (low-profile slot too), but I´m not sure that the USB-6009 can be used to solve the problem.
How to syncronize the data acquisition and timestamps using USB-6009 and PCI-1588 with external GPS?
In other thread I would appreciate any suggestions for GPS timing board and PCI-1588 too.

  • Error: Could not continue scan with nolock due to data movement, DBCC proccache will clear the probelm

    SQL Server: 2008 R2 SP2
Before describing my problem, I have gone via the forum, there is no view or functions inside my stored procedure
When running a particular stored procedure inside crystal report, the error " Could not continue scan with nolock due to data movement" comes once every few weeks. After I clear the query cache plan, it works again for few weeks and the problem
comes again. During these few weeks, there is no restart or query plan clearing.
If I run the stored procedure inside SSMS, where the SQL statement is copied and pasted from SQL profiler during crystal report run, there is no error.
I discovered running in SSMS and crystal report generate 2 different query plans even I copied the SQL from SQL profiler, I have actually saved the query plans. Unfortunately, this forum does not accept attachments, or otherwise I will post my query plans
    here.
There is one thing I notice about the query plan is during nested loop operation, there is a warning "no join predicate". I don't use any views or UDF in the statement, nor did I use pre-1992 ANSI join syntax. However, I did use table variables.
My guess is whether this will cause " Could not continue scan with nolock due to data movement", after I clear the cache, I run crystal report again, and I look at the plan again, the "nested loop no join predicate" warning is gone.
Running this stored procedure took 1 second maximum, even when this error is popping up, it pop up within 1 second.
    DBCC checkdb has been run
The same stored procedure running by crystal report in a SQL 2008 (non r2) live environment has no problems, so I am thinking this is R2 specific problems.
The "nested loop no join predicate" error SQL statment is below, no views, no udf, but table variables
    INSERT @ChequeAccount
    SELECT        PS.PaySummaryID, PS.EmployeeID, PS.CostCentreID,
                (PS.GrossPay    + PS.LumpSumA + PS.LumpSumB    + PS.LumpSumD+ PS.LumpSumE+ PS.ETP+ PS.PaymentsAfterTax    - PS.DeductionsAfterTax
     - PS.Tax- PS.ETPTax    + PS.TaxRebate) * -1 AS Amount,
                CGLM.GLAccountID
    FROM Pay_Summary PS JOIN Input_Sheet ISH ON PS.InputSheetID = ISH.InputSheetID  AND  ISH.PayrollID = @binPayrollID
AND PS.PaySummaryID NOT IN (SELECT PaySummaryID FROM @ChequeAccount)
    JOIN Payroll P ON P.PayrollID = ISH.PayrollID AND P.EmployerID = @binEmployerID
JOIN CustomGLFixMapping CGLM ON CGLM.EmployerID = P.EmployerID AND CustomGLFixMappingNameID = 1 AND CGLM.CostCentreID IS NULL

The error Could not continue scan with nolock due to data movement can occur when you use the NOLOCK table hint, or use the command SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL READ UNCOMMITTED. That is, so-called dirty reads. The error is not related to the
query plan per se, but when scanning a table, the storage engine will use an IAM scan rather than following the clustered index. If there is simultaneous activity, the storage engine may detect this and abort the operation to avoid returning incorrect data.
Or it may not detect it, and return uncommitted data or fail to return committed data.
All of these effects are transitory and they will not show up when you are alone on the system, only when there is concurrent activity in one or more of the tables in the query.
Using dirty reads is a risky business for the reasons explained above, and it takes careful analysis to understand whether you can live with the errors you can get from a particular query. The error about data movement can be handled: trap the error and
resubmit the query. But what about spurious incorrect results?
If you believe locking to be a problem, you should consider setting the database to READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT
and take out all use of READ UNCOMMITTED/NOLOCK. When the database is in READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT, readers read from the snapshot and only see committed data without blocking writers. This has some other effects like requiring a bigger tempdb,
and there is a risk for other types of concurrency errors, but they tend to be smaller risks.
I discovered running in SSMS and crystal report generate 2 different query plans even I copied the SQL from SQL profiler,
This is because SSMS by default runs with SET ARITHABORT ON. I discuss this in more detail in this article on my web site:
    http://www.sommarskog.se/query-plan-mysteries.html
However, as I said, this problem is not related to the query plan as such, although some query plans are more susceptible to this error than others. (All plans are suscpeitble to produce incorrect results).

  • Ring acquisition with NI-IMAQ 1394

Our project requires saving captured images onto the hard drive with no frame loss, so Grab acquisition may not be sufficient. I wonder if there is a way to carry out ring acquisition with IMAQ1394 like that of the original IMAQ?
I was hoping to find equivalent functions of "IMAQ Configure List.vi", "IMAQ Configure Buffer.vi" and "IMAQ Extract Buffer.vi" in IMAQ1394, but none of them seems to exist.
"IMAQ1394 Get Image.vi" appears to be able to accept only one image at any one time, the option, image index, seems to be redundant to me. The example "Low-Level Sequence.vi" still runs after I removed the connection between the loop counter and "image index".
It is also unclear what the option, "no. of buffer" in "IMAQ1394 Configure
Acquisition.vi" could do. The example mentioned above uses multiple buffers, but nothing is connected to this option.
On a side note, I found that the buffering in IMAQ 1394 is not as logical as in IMAQ. Image(s) created along side the acquisition configuration would be used as its buffer frame(s) even though there is no connection between the two.
I would be very grateful if someone could share their ideas.
    Regards,
    Calvin Tsang
    PS. I'm using IMAQ1394 version 1.1

    Calvin,
This is one of the biggest problems I have had with IMAQ 1394. I was able to set up a continuous buffer, but there is no way to find out which buffer is the current one. The other problem with IMAQ 1394 is that it is software based instead of hardware, which means your CPU speed and operating system latencies can all affect it and make you miss frames.
What I ended up doing was making my own buffer, and using Grab to get each image. By checking the time elapsed between each frame acquired, I was able to detect missing frames. As long as the frame rates were low or I didn't update the display very often, I rarely missed frames.
My basic conclusion is that IMAQ 1394 is much better for snapshot type applications. Applications that require
continuous video with no missing frames work much better with the IMAQ boards than 1394.

  • How can I perform continuous acquisition of a repetitive waveform?

I want to synchronously acquire a repetitive waveform where there is little or no dead time between cycles. I plan to use an external trigger and scan clock. I need to store each cycle of the waveform as a separate record so I need to know the start and stop sample for each cycle.
I considered putting an N sample acquisition inside a Do While loop, but I can't afford to drop cycles.
I'm considering doing a continuous acquisition and calculating the correct number samples to read from the buffer for each waveform cycle. My concern with this method is that I need to acquire waveforms for a long time (many hours) and I'm concerned about losing synchronization. I've thought that maybe I could acqu
ire say a 1000 cycles and then restart the process, which would minimize dropping cycles and maintain synchronization.
Any suggestions? Am I making this harder than it really is? I probably should say that I'm using a 6052E DAQ sampling at 100ksps.

    Hi
I am trying to solve a similar problem at the moment (I have a discussion going in the 'Dynamic Signal Acquisition and Analysis' section) but have not found a completely satisfactory solution so far.
I am acquiring an analogue signal from a rotating machine from which I also have a TTL signal which gives me a once per revolution (OPR) marker. I want to continuously acquire the analogue signal and use the OPR pulsing signal to 'chop up' my continuous analogue signal into a set of data for each rev.
I have used a method similar to the one you have described - I use continuous double-buffered acquisition to acquire the analogue signal and the counter values, with the OPR pulse signal as the counter gate. However, I have been unable to synchronise the s
tart of the signal and counter acquisitions together. I can start the signal acquisition using the OPR signal as a trigger but not the counter. I tried using GPCTR_Change_Parameter() to set the start trigger to external (ND_ENABLED) but this is not permitted with my E Series device (PCI-6111E with DAQ-STC).
Do you know a way round this? And even if I could start my counter acquisition using the OPR signal, how do I ensure that I haven't missed any revs between starting the signal and counter acquisitions (in tests where I use immediate software triggers for the signal then the counter in successive lines of C++ code, my counter is already 2 cycles behind at just 100Hz OPR).

  • Sharepoint list dataheet view error "Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available"

I have a List which is having around 14000 items in it.while opening that list in datasheet view it is giving error .
Below is a summary of the issue:
After selecting datasheet view beow error occurs:
"Cannot connect to the server at this time.  You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available."
        "Unable to retrieve all data."
The item counts displays say 100 out of 14000 items.
Exporting List to excel is giving only 2000 records out of 14000 records.
    Other Observations   -
This is happening to only one list on the site .There are other lists in the site whose no. of records is equal to 8000 to 9000.They are working absolutely fine without any error.
Also, If I am saving this list as a template and creating another list with it ,then it is working absolutely fine with 14000 records,so the issue does not seem to be related with no. of records as the template list is working fine.
I have checked the Alternate access mapping setting ,its fine.
It should not be related to lookup, datefield or any other column as the list created from it template is working fine with all these columns.
I checked below links also ,but doesn't seem to work in my case.

    I am sharing my finding.
    1. First install the
KB2552989 (Hopefully you might have already installed it. The KB detetcts it and informs the user.)
    2. Then update registry by adding new key for data fetch timeout as mentioned inKB2553007
These two steps resolved the issue in our environment. Hope it might help others as well.

  • How to set up Airport Extreme with Charter ARRIS Modem TM902A for the first time for WIRELESS.

How to set up Airport Extreme with Charter ARRIS Modem TM902A for the first time for WIRELESS.
When Charter Tech goes to your site, have them connect the modem up, but do not connect the modem to your iMAC or MacBook Pro.  What you want to do is connect the Airport Extreme to the iMac or MacBook Pro first with the Ethernet Cable. You have to do this to configure via Airport Utility to set up the Base Station Name & Base Station Password.
You will then create/configure a Wireless Network, create your Wireless Password that will be entered on each of your Devices, example, Apple Tv, your iPhone, etc., you want to allow access to your Wireless Network you are creating.
Wireless Security will be -> WPA/WPA2 personal or just WPA2
Enter the Wireless Password you want
Verify the Wireless Password (enter it again)
After it is created you will see it on the Airport Utility window with the name you created for it and to the left, will be a Dot (circle that will be yellow).
Next you then want to unplug the power to the Airport Extreme, and then take the end of the Ethernet cable you unplugged from the iMac or Lap top MacBook Pro and connect it to the back of the Modem.
Next unplug the power cord from the modem and wait about 5 minutes, then plug the power back into the Arris Modem and wait until all lights come back on the modem wait
about 5 minutes, then plug the power cord back to the Airport Extreme and you will see it the light blinking yellow.  Wait about 5 to 10 minutes, during this time Restart you IMAC or MacBook Pro, and once it is back up click on the Airport Utility and you should see on the Airport Utility screen.
For INTERNET to the left the light should be green and you should see the Airport Extreme also appear and the light to the left on the screen should also be green.  If they are, you then should be able to click on the Wireless Symbol on top of bar of the screen and click to select the Wireless Network Name you created.
If you Do Not See the light (Icon) next to INTERNET turn Green, or if you see the Internet Light Green, but the Light (Icon) next to the Airport Extreme is yellow, unplug the power again to the modem and unplug the power again to the Airport extreme and wait about 15 minutes or up to 30 minutes. Then plug the power cord back to the modem wait till all the lights light up then, plug the power cord back into the Airport Extreme and Restart your iMAC or MacBook Pro.
The Airport Extreme light should change from yellow to green. Open up the Airport Utility to see what the indicators are showing they should both be green.  Again select Wireless network you created under the Wireless Icon on the top right of the screen. Open Safari and see if you are able to Route to a web page or the apple site should appear.
WHAT TO DO IF YOUR AIRPORT EXTREME WAS PREVIOUSLY SET UP FOR USE WITH ANOTHER CARRIERS ROUTER OR MODEM.
NOTE:  If you already had your Airport Extreme connected for example, I previously had ATT Uverse and the Airport Extreme was connected to the Wireless Router Model 3801HGV, I disabled the Uverse Wireless and used the Airport Extreme for the Wireless signal in bridge mode, as the Airport extreme Signal is much stronger than the Uverse router, and I was able to obtain a Wireless signal with the Airport Extreme way much better with no signal loss which was very very frustrating with the Uverse router.
Anyhow if you had it hooked up like this, now that you will be using it with the Charter ARRIS Modem TM902A, you will need to reset the Airport Extreme to clear out the old data it has in memory, with the previous set up otherwise it will not work. Trust me I spent 6 hours trying to make it work reading all Apple Support Community questions and answers relating to this type issue/problem others have been having trying to get their set up working. I tried all the tips, and I finally decided just to see if by chance I would be able to connect with someone with Charter Tech support who might be familiar with Apple to be able to assist me and by luck I did.  He told me why it was not working and was all due the previous configuration with the ATT Uverse router was still in memory with the Airport Extreme. Finally it was 10:30 PM when I decided to call Charter Tech Support and I had been working on this since 3:00 pm pacific. I did not call them earlier as all the post I read said they never received any good help from Charter. After calling them I finished up by 11:00 PM and was able to finally connect Apple Tv, iMac, iPhones and Macbook Pro. We love our Apple Product and Happy all is connected with the new
Internet Provider Charter. I must say the speed is way way much better than it ever was with AT&T Uverse.
THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO DO:
First you will need to unplug the Airport Extreme, then by taking the tip of a pen or paper clip end you need to push the reset button on the back of the Airport Extreme and hold it
down and at the same time plug the power cord back into the Airport Extreme count to 5 or 10 then release the reset button. Then once he light in front of the Airport Extreme stops blinking you need to plug the Ethernet cable from the Airport Extreme to your iMAC or Macbook Pro, and restart which ever one you have, then open the Airport Utility once it is back up.  If you see airport extreme pop up with the old network name or it shows and yellow triangle click on the Airport Extreme ICON it will not let you configure it but will ask if you want to get rid of it or remove and just do it.  Then Again restart your iMAC or MacBook Pro, open up Airport Utility again, and on the top left you should see under “Other Airport Base Stations” the MAC ID for the Airport Extreme.

I just got a Charter Modem. Model TM822. While I was moving, my Airport Extreme was still at my old place.
I have a Linksys WRT320N I used for the initial Charter setup.
I can get my Airport to work here, but the Internet light on the Modem flashes Yellow.
Hasn't caused any issues so far but one thing I did notice.
On the Linksys there were 3 DNS servers listed.
The Airport Extreme only lists 2 and i don't see where I could add another, only change whats already there.
I tried everything above, but light on modem still flashes yellow.
I have the technicians cell phone. Told me "that shouldn't be" and gave the same advice listed above.
I'll break down and call Charter one day, see if it's on their end. NSA tracking may need a reset LMAO.

  • Acquisition with vendor and without vendor

    Dear All,
This is my first time using FA in SAP Business One.
I have a lot of question about FA in SAP B1 especially in FA Acquisition.
There are two kinds of acquisition. With vendor and without vendor.
If we choose the aquisition with vendor, we must enter the vendor and the JE will be created like this
                                      Debit             Credit
    V01                                                 1500 USD
    Asset Computer       1500USD
It seems the the JE create like AP invoice, so we can continue the out going payment for the vendor.
But the problem is in Acquisition without vendor.
    I have a scenario.
    I buy a car. I create PO > GRPO> AP invoice--> Out going Payment.
After that if i run the acquisition without vendor.
The JE will be created like this
                                                                    Debit       Credit
    Clearing Acc. Asset Acquisition                             1500Usd
    Asset Car                                                 1500 USD
( Please correct me if my Journal is wrong )
From this Journal Posting, i find some thing odd.
When i buy a car and i created the GRPO.
The JE will  create the Asset car position in Debit.
After that i create the Acquisition without vendor. The Journal also posting the Asset Car account in Debit. So the Asset Car account balance become 3000 USD.
So what must i do to avoid this problem.
I check the document FA. It is said that before create the Acquisition without vendor, the AP invoice must already be  created.
In the documentation, they create the AP invoice in service type. Is it a must to create the AP invoice like this ?
Please tell me what should i do if create the Acquisition without vendor.
Any suggest or solution would be great.
    Thanks in advance

Fixed Assets are created in the add on, not the item master.
    Your choice is that
    1. all fixed asset puchases go through a clearing account and a different team is responsible for creating the assets & performing the acquisition,  (1 step for one team, two for another) or
2 that the person acquiring the asset creates the master data item in fixed assets, then the acquisition with vendor (one two step process)
Depends on the size of the organisation and the roles & responsibilities within the organisation

ok..If you carefully look at the vi you will come to know the answer for your question.
The reason is because when the value of the slider becomes greater than 8 the pop up will appear and when you close, it will close (for say i=1). Now again the pop up will appear and close when you hit the close button. (say for i=2).
This operation will continue unless and until some one will change the value of the slider to be less than 8. or the vi is aorted
Also do not use the contineous run button unless and until you are debugging something. Instead use a while loop.
A better approach would be to use a event structure wired with a valus change event for the slider.

  • I want cRIO to start and stop acquisition with push of physical button on cRIO, is that possible?

When using my cRIO 9024 on the field, I prefer  to be able to start and stop acquisition with push of a physical button on cRIO.
I mean I don't want it to be "as start-up," I don't want cRIO to start acquisition as soon as the power is supplied.
    Is that possible?

    Hi Cashany,
you surely can read that switch status. But there are easier (but more expensive) ways to switch a button. Fiddling with a pen or small screwdriver to switch USER1 isn't what I call "user friendly"...
    - You have atleast 2 voltage inputs on your module available. Use a switch to supply voltage to those inputs. Use a "real" button!
    - You have a serial port available. You could set some pins to GND or voltage and check their status inside cRIO/RT target...
