Vertical toolbar

Hi all,
Is their any way to draw vertical line/toolbar into HTML based Form??
I'm able to draw horizontal toolbar by selecting item as <b>Stop and start table</b> and including <b>hr</b> tag into the label of that item, so is their any similar or different way to draw vertical line/toolbar
Thanks

Hi,
I've simplified the region slightly, so that you don't even need a DIV tag.
Create an HTML region on your page and put it between the form region and the report region (that is, the form should be in column 1, the new region in column 2 and the report in column 3).
On the HTML region, add the following into the "Region HTML table cell attributes" settings:
style="border-left:1px solid gray; height:100%"Into the "Source" setting, add in:
&amp;nbsp;(this just ensures that the browser has something to put into the region - some browsers may require this before being able to render the tag.
Finally, I have set the template for this region to "No Template" as I don't want any normal form/report region styling - I only need the border

  • Vertical Toolbar thingy with a search field and my bookmark folders underneath. How do I get rid of it?

This might sound ridiculous but here it goes: I accidentally hit a couple keys on my netbook keyboard. This made a toolbar pop up on the left side of the window. It's vertical and has a search field at the top, then listed underneath are my bookmark folders in expandable/collapsible tree format. I can't find any reference to it in any of the options. I just want it to go away. It's kind of bothering me a lot more than it should. Please help me get rid of this.

  • Toolbar Disappears (Template Form 6i)

Hi Friends and Forms Product Management Team,
My problem is, in my custom form 6i (using template 11i), toolbar disappears whenever error message window displayed. This started after making few changes to this form.
Let me give you brief about this form, its a single block setup form on single base table. It allows user to update fields with validation. Now if user tries to enter wrong value the built-in error message window appears with some message for that validated field. The toolbar, which disappears, is the standard one (Horizontal toolbar). So the full form seems to be jumping, up and down. It has one window and its called,
Lets say SOME_SETUP window. Canvas Type is CONTENT.
I am not getting any solution from anywhere. Where to seek help? Any suggestions.
    Thanks,

What are the following details :
The canvas the toolbar is on (and whether it's a horizontal or vertical canvas).
The window that toolbar canvas is attached to.
    The form's console window
The names of all windows in the form, and their style (content, stacked, dialog etc), whether they have a >horzintal/vertical toolbar canvas property set.
When the error is displayed, what item is the cursor on ?
[Is the 'error' displyed as an alert, or are you using your own items/canvas/window]
What canvas is that item in ?
What window is that canvas on ? -Rohit Singh-

  • [SOLVED] Vertical titlebar in fluxbox

    Hi all,
After the death of compiz, which provided a minimalistic composite WM (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=84617), I have come back to fluxbox with skippy-xd (and compton for transparency ). Things have been virtually perfect, and I'm so happy the power skippy and compton gives to good old window managers.
Then I realized, we can make things even better with vertical titlebars to maximize the screen use for widescreens. With the tabs in fluxbox, we can disable the titlebar and set tabs to be placed vertically (left/right of window), and configure the tabs to behave like a regular titlebar. The only potential downside is the absence of minimize/maximize/close buttons, which I don't use anyway.
The picture here http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/features/titlebar.php shows a possible outcome, if we get rid of the titlebar.
The problem is, although the fluxbox setting should work, I can't get (1) the tab font to rotate horizontally (2) the tab to stretch over the height of the window. Here are the relevant files:
    ~/.fluxbox/init (relevant entries only):
    session.screen0.tabs: true
    session.screen0.tabs.usePixmap: true
    session.screen0.tabs.intitlebar: false
    session.screen0.tabs.maxOver: false
    session.screen0.tab.placement: LeftTop
session.screen0.tab.alignment: relative ! this line should stretch the tab to the window height, DOESN'T WORK
session.screen0.tab.rotatevertical: true ! this line should rotate the font, DOESN'T WORK
    session.screen0.tab.height: 22
    session.screen0.tab.width: 220
    session.tabPadding: 0
    session.tabsAttachArea: Window
session.screen0.defaultDeco: tab ! turns off the titlebar
~/.fluxbox/keys (relevant entries only), to make the tab behave like ordinary titlebars, all working:
    OnTab Mouse1 :MacroCmd {Raise} {Focus} {ActivateTab}
    OnTab Double Mouse1 :Maximize
    OnTab Mouse3 :WindowMenu
    OnTab Move1 :StartMoving
    OnTab Mouse4 :NextTab
    OnTab Mouse5 :PrevTab
So, just two lines to stop this from working! I'm guessing there are other archers who would like vertical titlebars? Any thoughts?

I think I found the solution! I think some fonts lack the ability to rotate, so after selecting a working font I now have a "vertical toolbar" in fluxbox.
The only imperfect thing is the lack of transparency in the tab, but then nothing is perfect...

Well you still haven't answered several of the questions :
We've established that you have one window [SOME_SETUP] with two canvases, one content and one horizontal toolbar. Can you confirm this by opening up the WINDOW and CANVAS 'tree' nodes.
Look at the properties for SOME_SETUP. What are the PRIMARY CANVAS, HORIZONTAL TOOLBAR CANVAS, VERTICAL TOOLBAR CANVAS ?
Is the 'error' displyed as an alert, or just in the message line ?
Forms doesn't have a 'built in message window'. Unless otherwise coded, an error is displayed on the message line at the bottom of the form. If more than one message needs to be displayed on the message line, you probably get a 'Please acknowledge' popup.
If it is not a message line error, then it may be an alert, or it may be that there is an 'error' canvas/window which pops up with a message. This is why I wanted confirmation of the names and types of the windows and canvases.

  • How do I disable the vertical bookmarks menu?

Firefox has begun opening with a vertical menu bar for bookmarks on the left side of the window.
Please tell me how to disable this.
    I'm using a Windows 8 Lenovo G505.
    Thank you for your help...
    Jim

Thank you all for your replies...
    Firefox version is 23.0.1
The vertical bookmarks menu has been opening automatically every time I start a firefox session. Been happening since Labor Day weekend. I'm 99% sure I haven't accidentally opened it by pressing Cntl-B.
When I use bookmarks, I access them through the bookmarks menu button (white star in rectangle)located to the right of the search engine field. I find only that button in the Customize palette.
Pressing f10 opens the Win 8 Second Screen menu, tapping Alt opens the hidden menu.
Now the vertical menu is not opening, and I can't even figure out how to open it to test the 'Alt' button on it. I don't know what caused this!!
This vertical toolbar is especially annoying because it occupies about 20% of the working area of the browser.
Thank you all again for taking time to help!! I greatly appreciate it.

so what changes i have to make to the code.
Normally it s enough if we declare it as JToolBar.VERTICAL
but it is not working over here,i mean where we have to declare this sentence.

When you post code use the "code" formatting tags so the code is readable.
Read the API there is a constructor and a method to control the orientation of a toolbar.

  • Toolbar customization

I am creating a menu, with associated icon files for those commands. I am also assigning the commands to a horizontal toolbar with their respective icons. Is there any way to modify the size of the icons on the horizontal toolbar? (Currently they stand at 18 by 18 pixels.) If the icon files are larger than 18x18, the toolbar only displays the upper-left 18x18 pixels of the icon.
    null

If the question is "Can I use larger icons than 18 by 18", the answer is no. In case you use a generated toolbar by assigning menu items to a horizontal or vertical toolbar, Oracle always uses 18 by 18 pixels for an icon. If you deploy the form client server all other formats are cropped, if you deploy it on the web the icons (GIF's) are scaled.

  • Blue theme with left tab/toolbar ?

    Hi all,
Is it possible to have a left vertical toolbar showing tabs within a blue theme ?
I saw it looks nice in the sand theme with 2 level tabs as the tab page,
but I don't like the sand, and I want tabs as a vertical toolbar,
    like it's in many applications
because I have about 8 tabs, with about 15 letters in each tab,
and it doen't look good in a horizontal tab
    Regards ,
    Raanan,

You need to change the following:
    1. your page template to show your tabs as a left-side bar
    2. your .css, to support the layout you want to achive.

  • FRM-13002 : Stacked and Tab Canvas must be created within Content Canvas

    Hi,
I have a Tab Canvas with 2 pages on it.
In one of the pages the data to be displayed will be
out of the region(size or length) of that page.
I read in this forum for the same problem, the
member had suggested to use a Stacked Canvas on that
Tab page alone and enable the scrollbars of the stacked canvas.
When I drag and drop a stacked canvas on a tab page
of the tab canvas I get the following error:
FRM-13002 : Stacked and Tab Canvas must be created
    within content canvas.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
I am breaking my head over this.
I am still unable to solve this issue.
========The Requirement is as follows :===========
When I select a Tab Page of a Tab canvas, I get a
combo box with items in it. When I select an item from
the combo box, based on the item selected, I am
retrieveing the data from the database and displaying
it in that Tab Page itself. This data is in a matrix
format. i,e Has a number of rows and columns.
Without a Horizontal and a Vertical Toolbar attached
to the Tab Page I would be unable to view all the records
that are displayed on that Tab Page.
Any suggestions or examples is most welcome and
    appreciated.
NOTE : ALso in what situations can we use a stacked
canvas, if the designer does not allow me to
    use it with other canvases?.
    Thanks in advance

  • Whats the difference between the Canvas types?

When i start the layout wizard and i choose to make a new carvas, there are several types of canvas available:
Content, Stacked, Vertical toolbar, Horizontal toolbar, Tab
What is the difference between these types? I have tried making different types, but they all seem the same to me.
    Cheers.

The content canvas (the default) occupies the entire Forms window it is assigned to, and is the primary canvas where data is displayed in your form.
A stacked canvas can be used to pop-up information temporarily, in front of the content canvas. You usually display a stacked canvas based on a button press or some other activity by the user. At some point it is dismissed, so the user can again see all of the content canvas. Stacked canvases can also be used for special situations, such as hiding and displaying a scrollbar.
A tabbed canvas is much like a content canvas, but it has multiple pages, and each page is accessed by clicking on the tab associated with that page. It is like a stacked canvas, in that it sits on top of a content canvas, but it usually remains visible all of the time.
The toolbar canvases are simply that -- canvases that hold the toolbar with action icons for the form.
