Vertical XML Data Component?

Anyone know of a component that I can use to display XML data
in vertical columns, side by side for comparison without reworking
the XML - something like a spreadsheet layout or any comparison
tool you'd see on the web.
thanks,
Mark

Try doing it more like this then:
<Repeater id="rp" dataProvider="{_xlc.getItemAt[0]}">
<HBox>
<Label text="{(rp.currentItem as XML).text()}" />
<Label text="{(_xlc.getItemAt[1].child(rp.currentIndex)
as
XML).text()}"/>
</HBox>
</Repeater>

  • DataGrid does not display XML data

    Hello, and thanks for reading this...
    I am having a problem displaying XMLList data in a DataGrid.
    The data is coming from a Tree control, which is receiving it
    from a database using HTTPService.
    The data is a list of "Job Orders" from a MySQL database,
    being formatted as XML by a PHP page.
    If it would be helpful to see the actual XML, a sample is
    here:
    http://www.anaheimwib.com/_login/get_all_orders_test2.php
    All is going well until I get to the DataGrid, which doesn't
    display the data, although I know it is there as I can see it in
    debug mode. I've checked the dataField property of the appropriate
    DataGrid column, and it appears correct.
    Following is a summary of the relevant code.
    ...An HTTPService named "get_all_job_orders" retrieves
    records from a MySQL database via PHP...
    ...Results are formatted as E4X:
    HTTPService resultFormat="e4x"
    ...An XMLListCollection's source property is set to the
    returned E4X XML results:
    ...The "order" node is what is being used as the top-level of
    the XML data.
    <mx:XMLListCollection id="jobOrdersReviewXMLList"
    source="{get_all_job_orders.lastResult.order}"/>
    ...The "jobOrdersReviewXMLList" collection is assigned to be
    the dataProvider property of a Tree list, using the @name syntax to
    display the nodes correctly, and a change event function is defined
    to add the records to a DataGrid on a separate Component for
    viewing the XML records:
    <mx:Tree dataProvider="{jobOrdersReviewXMLList}"
    labelField="@name"
    change="jobPosForm.addTreePositionsToDG(event)"/>
    ...Here is the relevant "jobPosForm" code (the Job Positions
    Form, a separate Component based on a Form) :
    ...A variable is declared:
    [Bindable]
    public var positionsArray:XMLList;
    ...The variable is initialized on CreationComplete event of
    the Form:
    positionsArray = new XMLList;
    ...The Tree's change event function is defined within the
    "jobPosForm" Component.
    ...Clicking on a Tree node fires the Change event.
    ...This passes an event object to the function.
    ...This event object contains the XML from the selected Tree
    node.
    ...The Tree node's XML data is passed into the positionsArray
    XMLList.
    ...This array is the dataProvider for the DataGrid, as you
    will see in the following block.
    public function addTreePositionsToDG(event:Event):void{
    this.positionsArray = selectedNode.positions.position;
    ...A datagrid has its dataProvider is bound to
    positionsArray.
    ...(I will only show one column defined here for brevity.)
    ...This column has its dataField property set to "POS_TITLE",
    a field in the returned XML record:
    <mx:DataGrid width="100%" variableRowHeight="true"
    height="75%" id="dgPositions"
    dataProvider="{positionsArray}" editable="false">
    <mx:columns>
    <mx:DataGridColumn width="25" headerText="Position Title"
    dataField="POS_TITLE"/>
    </mx:columns>
    </mx:DataGrid>
    In debug mode, I can examine the datagrid's dataProvider
    property, and see that the correct XML data from the Tree control
    is present. However, The datagrid does not display the data in any
    of its 6 columns.
    Does anyone have any advice?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello again,
    I came up with a method of populating the DataGrid from the
    selected Item of a Tree Control which displays complex XML data and
    XML attributes. After the user clicks on a Tree branch, I call this
    function:
    public function addTreePositionsToDG(event:Event):void{
    //Retrieve all "position" nodes from tree.
    //Loop thru each Position.
    //Add Position data to the positionsArray Array Collection.
    //The DataGrid dataprovider is bound to this array, and will
    be updated.
    positionsArray = new ArrayCollection();
    var selectedNode:Object=event.target.selectedItem;//Contains
    entire branch.
    for each (var position:XML in
    selectedNode.positions.position){
    var posArray:Array = new Array();
    posArray.PK_POSITIONID = position.@PK_POSITIONID;
    posArray.FK_ORDERID = position.@FK_ORDERID;
    posArray.POS_TITLE = position.@POS_TITLE;
    posArray.NUM_YOUTH = position.@NUM_YOUTH;
    posArray.AGE_1617 = position.@AGE_1617;
    posArray.AGE_1821 = position.@AGE_1821;
    posArray.HOURS_WK = position.@HOURS_WK;
    posArray.WAGE_RANGE_FROM = position.@WAGE_RANGE_FROM;
    posArray.WAGE_RANGE_TO = position.@WAGE_RANGE_TO;
    posArray.JOB_DESCR = position.@JOB_DESCR;
    posArray.DES_SKILLS = position.@DES_SKILLS;
    positionsArray.addItem(posArray);
    So, I just had to manually go through the selected Tree node,
    copy each XML attribute into a simple Array, then ADD this Array to
    an ArrayCollection being used as the DataProvider for the DataGrid.
    It's not elegant, but it works and I don't have to use a Label
    Function, which was getting way too complicated. I still think that
    Flex should have an easier way of doing this. There probably is an
    easier way, but the Flex documentation doesn't provide an easy path
    to it.
    I want to thank you, Tracy, for the all the help. I checked
    out the examples you have at www.cflex.net and they are very
    helpful. I bookmarked the site and will be using it as a resource
    from now on.

  • How to search XML data from a HTTPMultiService and display the result on the Spark List

    Hello all,
    I am totally new to Flash Builder and Actionscript and hope someone might be able to help me out. I basically create a mobile app with a single view. The view has a TextInput as a search box and a search button. I conntected a Data/Service using a local XML file and bind the Data to a Spark List. Innitally the List will show nothing until the user enter the search term and hit the button. The List suppose to show the XML data that match the search term.
    Now is my problem. I cannot make the List to show the data that match the search text. The List just shows ALL the data.

  • XML data into Combo & List

    Hi
    I am too new to this and still tring to learn. Well here is what I am into. I am trying to make a simple product catalog, using native components
         a combobox to display DISTINCT health issues
         a listbox to display the products associated to the selected health issue item in ComboBox
         a textarea to display complete information about the selected product in listbox
    Data comes from single external xml file.
    I was able to start off with Combo, but I don't know how to display DISTINCT ITEMS IN IT? Now it display all items including duplicates. Then I added eventlistener to Combo, which on change, the data for selected item is displyed in Textarea, but i don't know how to hook this to List component.
    All files available here:
    https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0ByHOlDbL5njbX1FFd1UtTFNzMTg/edit
    Sure some of you can do it so easy. Appreciate your time and help.
    Thank you

  • PDF form with XML data connection comes up blank at run time

    Hello All,
    I am a newbie to ADOBE Livecycle 9, but am very proficient in C#.  I would like to request for your guidance on the following issue.
    We have a desktop application in C#, WPF, Sqlserver. The requirement is to launch a Livecycle form from the application for the user to read/edit/save data
    I have done this much so far -
    Downloaded trial version of Livecycle 9
    Developed a interactive PDf form
    Created an XML based data connection. Generated fields on the form using the fields from this connection.
    Set the .XML file as preview source for the form
    the controls on the form are boumd to the xml data source
    In design mode, the form works fine, it displays my data correctly
    I have created a WPF form with a button. On click of this button, I call the Process.Start(pdf-file-path). My pdf is launched properly
    I have added a combo box to my WPF form. I select a parameter from this, then call a stored procedure which returns me a datatable depending on parameter passed
    Using the returned datatable, I have used the datatable.writexml and datatable.writexmlschema to create my XML and XSD files. as mentioned above, this xsd is used to create the data connection for the PDF and the XML for the preview source
    This is what I want to do -
    Launch the PDF from my WPF form, pre-populated with the newly created XML data from my WPF form.
    So basically, as the user changes the selection criteria from the combo box, the XML file data will change and the PDF file will be launched each time with new data.
    The XSD format will always be constant
    Problem -
    My XML and XSD get created properly, my PDF launches, but it is empty
    If I change my selection criteria and run the WPF application, and then open the PDF in design mode, it asks me whether it should refresh the XML source. This means that the PDF form is connecting correctly to the XML source
    So why then, does the form come up empty at run time?
    What link am I missing?
    I have found some sites that help using Web applications, but nothing for desktop applications. It would be fantastic if you could point me to some help for developing Livecycle forms with C# / SQLServer
    Your help in this case will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

    Oops, something happended with the above post. I will try again... I have tried your suggestion but I still get the same garbled XML (with data repeated and some values "cut in half".<br /><br />Here is what I get after decode-service and extract-to-XML-service. This is just the first barcode, the others are similar, sorry for the poor formatting, but I get a CDATA tage infront of the "istensen" value.<br />                                                              <br />CDATA:istensen</fld_ForMellemEfterNavn<br />><fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie<br />>Superroad 99, 1330 Supertown</fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie<br />><fld_PrivatTelefonnummer<br />>20724283</fld_PrivatTelefonnummer<br />></sub_Person<br />></sub_PktA<br />><fld_BlanketNr<br />>kb0371ff</fld_BlanketNr<br />><fld_BarcodeCount<br />/></form1<br />>/sub_Adresse<br />><sub_Person<br />><fld_ForMellemEfterNavn>Kim Christensen</fld_ForMellemEfterNavn<br />><fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie<br />> Superroad 99, 1330 Supertown </fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie<br />><fld_PrivatTelefonnummer<br />>20724283</fld_PrivatTelefonnummer<br />></sub_Person<br />></sub_PktA<br />><fld_BlanketNr<br />>kb0371ff</fld_BlanketNr<br />><fld_BarcodeCount<br />/></form1<br /><br />Obviously this is not a legal xml-string, so I can do nothing about it.<br /><br />I have tried using a custom .NET component (ClearImage) for reading the same form (with the barcode) I get the correct data out from the barcodes. So I guess something is wrong with the decode-service in Barcoded Forms ES when I use compressed XML. But I can conclude since the ClearImage component can read the barcodes that they are compressed correctly.<br /><br />Can you help me with getting further with this problem?<br /><br />Sincerely<br />Kim

  • Barcoded form with XML-data

    Hi all,
    In our solution we have some barcodes on a form (7 barcodes on the one that I am using), they contain compressed XML data (I know that this uses much space in the barcode - anyway it should work regardless of this).
    What the interesting thing is what is returned from the "decode-service" in WB.
    When I run a scanned form through the process I have created I get "garbled" xml in my XML-doc that is returned from the decode-service.
    If I use a handheld scanner (with a customly created program that handles the compression) I get the correct data from the barcode.
    If I do not use compression in the barcode I get the correct XML data from the barcode (with the decode-service). This is weird to me... What is going on???
    Some time ago I posted this issue (http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.3c058293) but never really caught up with a solution.
    Can you help me with this?
    Sincerely
    Kim

  • Gzip encoded XML data in HTTP adapter

    Hi,
    I'm involved in building an synchronous interface to an external credit agency. According to their documentation their XML response is encoded as a
    gzip XML-data stream. As I understand this it implies that the XML data stream is compressed. Does the XI HTTP adapter (Web-As ICM/ICF framework) support this encoding?
    Johan Göthberg

    From Adobe Support...
    "When you use an XML-based data provider with a tree you must
    specify the label field, even if it is "label". The XML object
    includes the root, so you must set showRoot="false". Remember that
    the Tree will not, by default, reflect dynamic changes to the XML
    object."
    So all I had to do was change the component tag from this:
    <mx:Tree id="checkTree"
    itemRenderer="util.CheckTreeRenderer" labelField="label"
    width="100%" height="100%" />
    to this:
    <mx:Tree id="checkTree"
    itemRenderer="util.CheckTreeRenderer" showRoot="false"
    labelField="@label" width="100%" height="100%" />
    Just as an FYI... The Adobe support is worth the cost if you
    are fairly new to Flex. I have been flexing for about 9 months now
    and find their service invaluable!!!

  • Graphs: Is it possible to take XML Data and display it as a graph in a LC Form?

    I am currently using LC ES2 Designer 9 to create PDF reports from XML data. We would also like to incorporate graphs into the PDFs. Has anyone done this or know if it is possible using LiveCycle?
    Thanks

    What I've seen, is people using a component to render the graph (Flex Charting or something else) and then put that rendered graph in the form data before it's being merged with the template.

  • SSIS and XML Data Files

    Hello, everyone. As a SSIS newbie, I have a simple question about load XML data files with SSIS. Currently I have multiple XML files in a specified folder (C:\XMLData) using one XSD file. Since SSIS does not support expression language for XML Source component (unlike flat file connnection), do you know how to loop through all XML data files to load them into a table in a database? I guess I may need to do some programming in VBScript. Any help is greatly thankful
    Thank you very much.

    Since SSIS does not support expression language for XML Source component (unlike flat file connnection),
    Are you sure about that? If you flip back to the control-flow and view the properties of the dataflow in question then you should be able to put an expression on the [XML Source].[XMLData] property.

  • FDTA - XML data display

    Hi Gurus,
    I have generated a file using F110 tcode..a XML file is created in FDTA tcode(DMEE tree file)...there are 2 ways of viewing that file in FDTA tcode..first one is directly select that file and click on display button(the file will be opened in the XML format)..second way is downloading the file to local desktop and viewing that file...the problem i am facing is...when i select the display button the file is opening in XML format but the file is not displaying completely- after certain line items the data is getting truncated..for suppose if i have around 60 transactions,it is disapying only 20 line items..but when i see the same file which is downloaded to local desktop,i can see the complete file..Are there any settings to be done for viewing the file completely in FDTA tcode..?
    Pls help

    To prepare your design*
    1) create a xmlSchema that correspond to your document structure
    2) use jaxb, castor or top link to generate java class to manipulate this content into a java application
    3) import these classes into your jdev project
    In the jdev application_
    ui layer
    Create a data control from xml mapped java classes (use the main object)
    Use this data control structure to create ui component, including the method that check the content from the xmlSchema (castor)
    middle tier, mapping
    Take you xml content as CLOB from the database. Create a business component for this step. Get the xml content as a string (or stringBuffer if I remembering correct). Use this object to load the content into you xml java mapped interface (you will find the method in the object to achieve this step, marshal/unm,unmarshal).
    Your xml data will be shown in you ui interface depending on the xml structure (and not as simple xml text, that you don't want I suppose).
    To save the editing, you will have to transform you java object into plain xml (marshal/unmarshal), obtain a string again, load it into the business content and save it into the database.
    Hope it's help you

  • Can't import XML data into my databse-connected PDF form

    Hi  All
    Excellent forum, and thanks for all the revealing insights so far viewed, however one question.I'm using a PDF form to collect info via email in the format of XML datafiles. I also have an identical PDF which has database connectivity and that works fine. It was suggested on this forum that I could then import the XML data into my Database via the DB-connected PDF, in effect a user form and one with DB connectivity. Now, I've checked the data types and they all match, but when I import XML file, it creates a blank record in the database and none of the information is carried through. Please could someone offer guidance on what I'm doing wrong, I've been trying to figure this out for a week now?
    Thanks

  • Reference Library for Converting Between LabVIEW and XML Data (GXML)

    Please provide feedback, comments and questions on the Reference Library for Converting Between LabVIEW and XML Data (GXML) in this thread.
    The latest version of the NI GXML Library is availble in VIPM on the NI LabVIEW  Tools Network repository.

    Francesco, Thank you for the feedback.  With this component it was my intention to make a more "terse" version of the LabVIEW Flatten to XML VI that was also supported on RT and that gave the user more flexbility regarding the structure of the parsing type definition. I think you are right that the XML parser is not compliant to section 2.11 of the XML spec.  The parser does specifically looking for a #D#A and this appears to be an oversight on my part.  Please confirm for me, the specifcation is saying that the XML parser should be able to recognize three possibilities as an "end of line" character: #D#A, #D, or #A.  Am I reading this right?There are more efficient (and in some cases much more efficient) ways of sharing data between LabVIEW and LabVIEW: some examples are flattened binary strings and the datalog binary format.  XML is slower than these optons but the upside is that it is human readable.  Furthermore XML is inherently hierarchical which is convenient for complex data structures like clusters of arrays of clusters, etc.  If you don't care about human readability then you are correct XML doesn't make as much sense.I will return to the GXML source code and try to fix this in the near future but I would hope that instead of creating yet another custom VI from scratch that you could reuse what I have provided for you.  I included enough documentation in the source code so that users could make some modificiations themselves. The target application for this reference library was LabVIEW to LabVIEW communication.  As such I documented the schema on the dev zone document from a LabVIEW perspective.  It includes all the supported datatypes and all the supported data structures (cluters, arrays, multidimensional arrays, clusters of multidimensional arrays, etc.)  I do see some value in making a more conventional XML spec but the time investment required didn't really line up with my intended use case. Were there any other downsides to GXML that I have missed?  Best Regards, Jeff TippsSystems Engineer - Sound and VibrationMessage Edited by Jeff T. on 04-21-2010 10:09 AM

  • ActionScript to bind XML data to components

    How can I use ActionScript to bind XML data to a comboBox
    component instead of using the component inspector? (I have done
    the latter, successfully, but that doesn’t allow access to
    the code - .)
    My ActionScript so far imports the data (the trace picks it
    up) – but the ‘cbType.dataProvider line’
    doesn’t work. It works when I change the data provider to an
    array – so what am I doing wrong?
    MY CODE:
    import mx.data.components.XMLConnector;
    var xcFestival:XMLConnector = new XMLConnector();
    xcFestival.ignoreWhite = true;
    xcFestival.direction = "receive";
    xcFestival.URL = "festivalItems.xml";
    xcFestival.trigger();
    //POPULATE THE COMPONENTS WITH THE DATA
    var festXMLlistener:Object = new Object();
    festXMLlistener.result = function(evt:Object) {
    trace(xcFestival.results);
    cbType.dataProvider = xcFestival.results;
    xcFestival.addEventListener("result",festXMLlistener);

    This is on a stand - alone system
    Using Designer ES ......
    I saved the Form as an xdp form
    and it seems as if all goes well until
    View the data and nothing appears - or
    just the names of the fields appear
