Very long runtime for export

Hi Guru:
We are using the Send button to export the SPM data to SAP DSE service.
What we find out is the functionality is extremly slow, for the same amount of data with BW openhub, we could export it in a couple of hours, but with the SPM function, it will take 1 day.
Is there anyway to improve the performance, tips or tricks?
Also the send function will export all data, is there any program could export the file for 1 object?
Thanks.
Eric

HI Ines
jload process needs more heap memory
Restart the jload with more heap memory, use 1.5 Gb or 2 Gb
Note 1173398 - jload export fails with OutOfMemoryException
Also check
Note 1120872 - Hom./Het.System Copy SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3
Error during export/import with jload
Symptom:
Jload aborts with error: SEVERE: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Solution:
5. Stop SAPinst.
6. In the control.xml file in the installation directory, search for
              "jload call args".
7. Replace "-Xmx512m" by "-Xmx1024m" in the following lines:
              var jdkArgs = installer. onOS400() ? ["-showversion", "-Xms256m", "-Xmx1536m"] : ["-showversion", "-Xmx512m"];
              switch( new SystemMgt().getSystemInfo(). getOSFAName() ) {
8. Save your entries and restart SAPinst.
Best of luck

  • Non-self-contained movie huge & takes a very very long time to export

    This is for FCE 4.
I have a 1.5 hour movie, and when I export it to quicktime (Not quicktime conversion) it takes WAY too long.
I have "make self-contained movie" unchecked, so I thought creating a reference movie would be very quick. Why is it taking so long and why is the resulting file huge?
My source files is DV, and only minor editing and effects were used. However the entire movie was cropped & resized. Is that why?

Ah I think I figured it out.
I did another test project with the same source DV file, but didn't do ANY editing to it.
It took 2 minutes to export a 70mb reference mov file from a 7 minute DV sequence.
Then I cropped & resized the sequence by changing parameters in the "motion" tab.
Then it took 20 minutes to export a much larger reference mov file from the same 7 minute DV sequence.
Then I clicked "render all" after selecting every render option in the drop-down menu.
Then it took less than 1 minute to export a 70mb reference mov file from the same 7 minute DV sequence.
So I guess I was having problems because I didn't render "everything", because I didn't select "FULL" on the drop-down menu for rendering. I thought only RED segments in the timeline needs to be rendered prior to export, but apparently the "FULL" render must be selected as well so that the entire timeline is nice and purple. (or some shade of blue)
Also, a cropped and resized video is very large in size (GB) if it is exported as a reference file only without prior rendering. * Can someone else confirm that this is the normal behavior in FCE? *
Oh well, lesson learned.. This movie is going to take a very long time to export, and result in a very large file. But I can't use it without cropping & resizing it!

  • BPS0 - very long runtime

    Hi gurus,
During the manual planning in BPS0 long runtime occurs.
    FOX formulas are used.
There is lot of data selected, but it is business needs.
Memory is OK as I can see in st02 - 10-15% of resources are usually used, no dumps, but very long runtime.
I examine hardware, system, db with different methods, nothing unusual.
Could you please give me more advices, how I can do extra check of the system? (from basis point of view preferably)
    BW 3.1. - patch 22
    SEM-BW 3.5 - patch 18
    Thanks in advance
    Elena

    Hello Elena,
you need to take a structured approach. "Examining" things is fine but usually does not lead to results quickly.
Performance tuning works best as follows:
    1) Check statistics or run a trace
    2) Find the slowest part
    3) Make this part run faster (better, eliminate it)
    4) Back to #1 until it is fast enough
For the first round, use the BPS statistics. They will tell you if BW data selection or BPS functions are the slowest part.
If BW is the problem, use aggregates and do all the things to speed up BW (see course BW360).
If BPS is the problem, check the webinar I did earlier this year: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/webinar?rid=/webcontent/uuid/2ad07de4-0601-0010-a58c-96b6685298f9 [original link is broken]
Also the BPS performance guide is a must read: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/7c85d590-0201-0010-20b5-f9d0aa10c53f
Next, would be SQL trace and ABAP performance trace (ST05, SE30). Check the traces for any custom coding or custom tables at the top of the runtime measurements.
Finally, you can often see from the program names in the ABAP runtime trace, which components in BPS are the slowest. See if you can match this to the configuration that's used in BPS (variables, characteristic relationships, data slices, etc).

  • Report script taking very long time to export in ASO

    Hi All,
My report script is taking very long time to execute and finally a message appears as timed out.
I'm working on ASO Cubes and there are 14 dimensions for which i need to export all data for all the dimensions for only one version.
The data is very huge and the member count in each dimension is also huge, so which is making me difficult to export the data.
    Any suggestions??
    Thanks

Here is a link that addresses several ways to optimize your report script. I utilize report scripts for Level 0 exports in an ASO environment as well, however the majority of our dimemsions are attribute dimensions.
These are the most effective solutions we have implemented to improve our exports via report scripts:
    1. Make sure your report script is written in the order of how the Report Extractor retrieves data.
    2. Supressing Zero and Missing Data
    3. We use the LINK command within reports for some dimensions that are really big and pull at Level 0
    4. Using Symmetric reports.
    5. Breakout the exports in multiple reports.
However, you may also consider some additional solutions outlined in this link:
    1. The MDX optimizing commands
    2. Back end system settings
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/esb_dbag/drpoptim.htm
I hope this helps. Maybe posting your report script would also help users to provide feedback.
    Thanks

  • Very long time for 0EC_PCA_3 ectractor

    Hello,
We have a problem with 0EC_PCA_3 extractor in delta mode. It takes very long time (4 hours) for a very few records. Is it normal .? How to optimize this ?
Thank you in advance forr your help.
    Best regards
    Nicolas

    Dear Nicolas,
Iu2019m going try to help you regarding your question,
I have searched in help sap, some feature about how get better performance:
    I found the following information:
To optimize the performance of data procurement when DataSource 0EC_PCA_3 accesses line item table GLPCA in the OLTP, you should set up an additional secondary index. This should contain the following fields:
    1.     u2022         RCLNT
    2.     u2022         CPUDT
    3.     u2022         CPUTM
For R/3 Releases 4.0B and 4.5B, you have to install note 580273.

  • Init load very long runtime 0CRM_COMPLAINTS SALES Analyses

    Hi,
We have launched a init load (infopackage 0CRM_COMPLAINTS)(BI 7.0) which extract 180201 claims from our CRM 2007 system.
The first packet (data package size 5000 records) have been extracted in 5minutes, but when it begins the 10 packets, it last 20min and 30 between each of them.
This treatment lasted 12 hours (we don't see optimization point at the moment)
The first thought is to decrease packet size but I don't find specific note about this problem, or any lead.
    Any help will be grateful.
    Chris

    HI
you check the SAP Note 692195 - Question 1 ( shown below )
Question 1 : The Extraction from CRM to BW takes a very long time. What can be done? (Performance Issues)
Suggestion 1: Please implement notes  653645 (Collective note) and 639072(Parallel  Processing).
The performance could be slow because of the wrong control parameters used for packaging.
You can change the package size for the data extraction.
Also note that changing the package size in the transaction SBIW would imply a change for all the extractors. Instead, you could follow the path in the bw system.
Infopackage (scheduler)    > Menu 'Scheduler'   > 'DataS. default data transfer'   > maintain the value as 1500 or 1000(This value is variable)
The package size depends on the Resources available at the customer side (The no of parallel processes that could be assigned = 1.5 times the no of CPU's available approx.)

    Sathya

  • Long runtime for CU50

Hi there, is there anywhere we can update the statistic for table CABN? We encountered long runtime when execute transaction code CU50, which we found out the process keep accessing the CABN table which contains more than 10k characteristics record. Thanks

If you are running on IBM i (i5/OS, OS/400), there is no need to update statistics for a database table, because that is done automatically by the database.
If you have a slow transaction, you can analyze it through transaction ST05 and then use the Explain function on the longest running statement. Within the Explain, there is a function "Index advised", that might help in your case.
    Kind regards,
    Christian Bartels.

  • TDMS Data transfer Step : Long runtime for table GEOLOC and GEOOBJR

    Hi Forum,
The data transfer for tables GEOLOC and GEOOBJR is taking too long (almost 3 days for 1.7 million records). There are no scrambling rules applied on this tables. Rather I am using TDMS for the first time so I am not using any scrambling rules to start with.
Also there are 30 process which have gone in error. How to run those erreneous jobs again??
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Anup

    Thanks Harmeet,
I changed the write type for those activities and re-executed them and they are successfully completed.
Now the data transfer is complete but I see a difference in no of records for these two tables (Geoloc and Geoobjr).
Can you please let me know what might be the reason?

  • Long runtime for loading PCA data into PCA ODS

    hi all,
hope you can help me regarding this problem:
i have been trying to load the PCA ODS (standard) from R/3 but it is taking too long so i tried to limit the size by using key fields but no luck. i have tried to load to PSA even that is taking long for around 53440 records i am unable to figure out the problem, i have checked all the transfer rules and update rules every thing is fine.
    can anyone please help me
    thanx a lot in advance

    Hi there,
don't know if you're loading line items, but following recommendation from SAP shortened our delta loads from 1.5 - 2 hours down to 2 minutes:
To optimize the performance of data procurement when DataSource 0EC_PCA_3 accesses line item table GLPCA in the OLTP, you should set up an additional secondary index. This should contain the following fields:

  • HT203177 very long 'preparing for backup' for Time Machine

None of the issues discussed in the apple support page on this issue seem to apply to me (except one below regarding not completing the 'prepare for backup'). It still takes way too much time (a night is not enough) to prepare for time machine backup, even though there was a backup recently, and it is not a one-time event but a recurring problem, and there are no big changes to my files or disks.
And of course because most days it does not complete the backup before I have to leave to work, the condition on 'not interrupting the backup' cannot be respected. This looks like plain poor design.
The only thing that helps is to connect my laptop directly to the Time Machine by Ethernet but it is very inconvenient.
This is really annoying. I wish I had bought another disk back-up solution.

The Mac Pro I'm backing up is Leopard 10.5.8, could this be the issue?
No, Time Machine works on 10.5.8.
I'm trying to back it up before I upgrade my operating system.
    Good plan!
Also, for the backup I'm using the same external drive that I used to backup my MacBook Pro already... not sure if this would cause any issues in preparing.
Not in preparing, but it's usually not a good idea to use the same partition on the same drive for both.  See Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #4 for an explanation.

  • Why does it take a very long time for shows to post to VOD?

A lot of programs say they will be on demand the following day. This isn't true. Seems you have to wait a week or longer for shows to post. Why? Comcast would usually be by 4:00 PM the following day. When you miss something and want to catch up on it you  have to wait, and then the next show is already being shown by the station. It's a pain. I know I can get a DVR but that costs more $$$. If you advertise your VOD to be current then be current.

Since the Verizon Forums are for users to help other users, I doubt you will get any definitive answer. We customers simply do not have access to any information on how Verizon handles VOD.

  • Very very Long Backup for iOS4 on 3G!

My backup took more than 5 hours and it didn't even reach half of the progress bar!
I stopped it and now trying again!
    Anyone faced the same problem..??

    <this pertains to my 3G phone>
I had many of the problems listed on this and other topics in the forum. After I waited a huge amount of time on several tries, I got the error "Error backing up this phone and the error number -402653138, and the choice to wipe the phone and install fresh, which I was not inclined to do (being a PITA to restore all the apps and settings).
But, I finally got it to work. Here's how:
    (1) I put the phone in Airplane mode
    (2) I turned off synching of movies, music, etc., so there was little on the phone except apps.
    (3) Ran the Update.
This got it to work. I'm unhappy that a released (not beta!) Apple product is so difficult to install, and has so many problems. Yes, I want a new iPhone, but until I can afford to buy one, I expect that my current model be update-able without requiring a day and a half of my time!

  • Premiere Pro CS5 Export taking a very long time

    Hello there.
I have a project that is taking a very, very long time to export. It's 45 minutes long and usually projects that long only take about 7 hours, whereas this one has been going for 6 hours and says it has 15 hours remaining.
I'm not sure what information to give. My footage is AVCHD and I'm exporting to H.264 for the web. My project, scratch disks and media are all on a RAID drive and I'm using an iMac 2009.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

No, all I have is the original footage, color corrected, with one music track and a watermark.
