Video and Computer trouble
I have been having a lot of weird issues lately. A lot of programs are becoming unresponsive. It also seems that when one becomes unresponsive, others will follow. So if FCP becomes unresponsive, Safari does as well or Firefox or text edit, etc. In many cases, after I force-quit them, they will become unresponsive while re-launching, and I will end up closing everything and re-starting. Speaking of which, re-starting tends to get hung-up as well forcing me to hard reboot (hold down the power button).
Also, it seems to be struggling to play movies, where that was never an issue before.
Then, theres FCP. I am having issues where I a song used for a video will suddenly be all whacky. Towards the end it will start repeating like a skipping record, and make static noises. Replacing the song with itself clears that up. And finally, I have had a number of videos export from final cut with the audio disappearing halfway through, even though the timelines are fine; or an exported video will have 'freeze spots' where the video will just be one frame for a period of time.
Anyone have an idea what might cause these issues??

I would immediately clone your hard disk to an external drive - if things get worse, at least you'll have a copy of the drive to recover your files.
Suggest using the shareware Carbon Copy Cloner -

Once you have created the clone, start up on the clone and use Disk Utility launched from the clone to inspect, verify and repair your main hard disk. After repair, switch back to your main hard disk, start up and see if that solves the problem.

get a copy of Disk Warrior and try the above procedure with it -

You should probably have a copy of Disk Warrior anyway, this is a good excuse to get it. After repair, switch back to your main hard disk and see if that solves the problem.

My computer was working great for the longest time. Then all of a sudden, my video freezes (you tube and sites that use flash are really bad for freezing) and the sound repeats very fast (like a CD skipping but faster). I have done all the updates, tried firefox, chrome, and IE7, 8, 9 and 10. I removed my Radeon HD 6850 card from my tower and still freezes with on board video. Any help is appreciated. Windows 7 proffesional 64 bit IE 10. Intel Core I7, 12 gigs RAM.
I believe that error code does indeed imply a fan motor issue. That's what the "4MOT" means. I don't know how to decode the rest but that info may indicate which fan is failing. Not knowing how to decode that means you will have to try to inspect the fans yourself to see if they are all spinning. I think the only fix may be to replace the failing fan. And if that fan still fails you may have a logic board problem. Either way, not good news. Sorry.
Obviously I suggest you only try to inspect the fans when your machine starts behaving strangely again. Don't forget to check the fan in the video card too.
I'm assuming that when you say your machine freezes it hasn't had a thermal shutdown. In a thermal shutdown all the fans except a single exhaust fan will indeed stop. I'm basing this on my personal experience where my 5870 video card's fan wouldn't always spin up because it couldn't overcome its starting friction. The card would overheat, and the machine would shut down due to the thermal cutoff, all except a single exhaust fan. A new 5870 fixed my problem. But I'm mention this because it obviously doesn't make any sense to check the fans when the machine has this kind of cutoff. So I hope all your fans are still running when your machine freezes -- except the errant one of course. -
I just bought a new mac mini and an external DVD burner. I want to burn a DVD video and it will not play on the TV but only on the computer? Need this figured out for tomorrow. Can anyone help me?
Congratulations on the new Mini. Are you saying you tried burning and it does not play, or do you want to burn it only for the computer to be able to play it?

I had Purchased the Game Spore Creature Creator the Starter Kit which is just the Creature creator game and not the actual game itself. I wasn't able to install the the game on my computer because I don't have the right or not at all Video and Graphic Card install on my computer. The only modern Mac's with video cards are the Mac Pro and Xserve (server) systems. They both are priced quite a bit higher than any Mac Mini.
Some systems, like the Mac Book Pro laptop can be ordered with different graphics cards, but that has be done when the system is built, as it is not replaceable once the system is built. To find out which systems, go to store.apple.com. For each system that you select, you can see if there's an option for a better video card.

I just bought my apple tv yesterday and SET UP THE HOME SHARING ON MY COMPUTER, I CAN STREAM MY PHOTOS AND SEE ALL THE VIDEOS AND LISTEN SONGS IN MY ITUNES, BUT CAN NOT DO HOME SHARING, ON THE TV, ALWAYS SHOWS "TURN ON HOME SHARING ON YOUR OMPUTER WITH YOUR ID WHICH I DID BUT NOTHING HAPPEN. WHAT'S WRONG? WHAT SHALL I DO NOW?
I have found with AppleTV that it is the IPV6 on the computer you want to access is the problem. The issue is that Homegroup on Win 7 or Win 8 requires IPV6 to work, but AppleTV won't work with IPV6. (So maybe double check you have IPV6 turned off)
So you have to make a choice - Homegroup or AppleTV.... but you can't have both, until Apple brings ATV up to date. (crazy that it does not recognise IPV6 - c'mon Apple!)
You can set up sharing individually in Win 7 or 8 and have the ATV access files that way.
Having said that, there is always the exception.. I have an old HP home server running Win8 and it services ATV - but is part of the Homegroup... have no idea why it works on both, but no other machine on the home network will talk to both ATV and Homegroup at the same time! -

Just done a replacement of the pata DVD drive (its new and is working ok), and a fresh clean install of Snow Leopard with all updates, iMac 5.1 behaves strange, sometimes I start Google Chrome and look at youtube videos the computer freezes and shuts down immediately,
I believe its related to overheating ?
iStat Pro shows GPU diode temp at 66 C, CPU at 48 C, Fan rpms is around 1000
Any ideas somebody ?
The hard disk has been previously checked with state of the art techniques that have confirmed that the hard disk drive is in perfect condition.1.5-3 minute boot up as opposed to 15-20 seconds

I have restored this
from a time machine partition.
TimeMachine is only a backup and restore, it won't fix issues in software and according to your information, doesn't even optimize the restore for best performance on boot hard drives.

There shouldn't be need to reinstall OS X fresh unless your having file structure issues which if they are should appear when in the Steps, which then a zero erase and install will cure as well as any bad sector issues, the defrag step wouldn't be necessarry on a freshly installed system obviously as the files are written all together, not in portions all over the drive.

My old laptop broke (idk what kind) and my iTunes was on there and now i got a new macbook pro. how do i get my itunes music and videos and etc. on this computer without removing them on my phone? please help!
If the old laptop was a mac also, then use your Time Machine backup to restore you user settings and files.

I've added songs and vedios to iTunes in my computer then I synchronise it with my Ipad3 ..... For the songs it was OK but for the vedios I got a message that some format are not supported then the screen became black with no video or sound ....how can I get back the vedios...I'm afraid to make reset to the iPad otherwise I'll loose all the applications and media.. Any ideas please .... Thanks
First of all - depending upon how you define resetting the iPad - you will not lose anything. If you erase all contents and settings - then you will lose everything. Don't do that!
If the videos are not in the correct format - launch iTunes on your computer. Click on one of the videos in your iTunes library in order to select it. Then go to Advanced>Create iPad or Apple TV version and see if the video will convert. Do the same for the other videos and then select those to sync again with the iPad.
To get the videos app working again, first quit it completely and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If the videos app still doesn't work, try this.
Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of any of your movies in the field at the top. when the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should hopefully start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK. -
can computer expert retrieve deleted videos and photo from and iphone 4 which the photos and video are not sync before? Are there any tools or software to retrieve it?

No, there are no gurantees. The capabilitty exists to retrive deleted data from an iPhone, but like many things in life it is not 100% successful all the time. Be careful, there are a lot of scam artists out there. They take your money & retrive nothing. This guy is one of the best in the business, but he does not work for people in the private sector. Perhaps he can recommend a service to you. But, as already pointed out, you're looking at thousands of dollars out of pocket whether these folks are successful or not:

Trouble transfering video and music!
I bought a new laptop, authorized it to my itunes acct. I tried to transfer my video and music from my ipod but it didn't transfer it all. I've tried draging them from my ipod to my laptop (library) but it doesn't let me. There are also these "i" symbols at the end of the file names. Can anybody enlighten me?!
If you're using iTunes 7, you can copy purchased items (and only those) back to iTunes directly. But you cannot drag-copy them, you have to use the Transfer Purchases from iPod command under the File menu.
If you're not using iTunes 7 or want to copy other tracks, the easiest way will be to search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your PC.
It's also possible to do this manually, but the procedure is rather involved. If you're interested, though, see this thread:
